The Buffalo Bills put the game in the hands of the refs against the Kansas City Chiefs, and it did not work out well for them.

Facing another fourth-and-inches, the Bills put the ball in Josh Allen’s hands. Initially, it appeared Allen was able to bull forward for a first down.

However, the officials ruled Allen was just short of the line to gain. They reviewed it, but it ended up standing as it was called.

That meant there was insufficient video evidence to overturn the call.

The Kansas City Chiefs once again got away with a controversial call.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy had enough of what he was seeing as he stated, “I’m quitting watching football. There is no other way to teach Roger Goodell a lesson. This is blatant cheating.”

“I ask everybody to boycott the Super Bowl. This shit is rigged, the calls that were made against the Buffalo is ridiculous. Don’t Watch The Super Bowl,” one fan said.

Forbes’ most recent estimates of Kelce’s net worth were set at $52 million. Last August, the three-time Super Bowl champion and older brother Jason Kelce signed a “New Heights” podcast deal with Amazon worth over $100 million, not to mention the money Travis makes in endorsements.

During the special 50th anniversary episode of SNL, “Please Please Please” singer Sabrina Carpenter parodied one of her close friends, Taylor Swift, who she opened for on the Eras Tour.

She appeared during a sketch where she parodied Swift’s “You Belong With Me.” Carpenter performed with Heidi Gardner, Ego Nwodim, and Sarah Sherman. They mention Swift’s real-life boyfriend, Travis Kelce, during the parody.

“After the show, it’s Madame Tussauds in Times Square / There’s a wax Kanu Reeves, but Kelce doesn’t care / It’s clear that Kelce’s mind is elsewhere,” they began. “Next up, we take a pedicab in Central Park / Kelce says there is a giant hole in my heart / She throws a coin into a fountain and then she whispers, ‘I wish I could be with him.’”

The SNL 50th anniversary sketch takes place at a wedding. The group of friends is singing for the bride, played by Chloe Fineman, before getting interrupted by Domingo (Marcello Hernández), which makes the groom uncomfortable. At the end, Hernández and Carpenter’s character pitch an “open relationship” to the couple.

It was a funny moment when Carpenter got to pay homage to Swift on SNL. One of Swift’s former close friends, Blake Lively, was there as well with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, amid the Justin Baldoni drama.

Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift go way back before the SNL sketch. Previously, Carpenter opened for Swift at 12 shows in 2024 on the Eras Tour.

She first joined Swift when she was in Melbourne, Australia. When Swift took the tour to Sydney, she did not have an opening act for her first show. Carpenter then joined her for the last three shows in Sydney before opening all six shows in Singapore.

They would reunite months later when Swift performed in New Orleans, Louisiana, on October 26, 2024. Carpenter came out when Swift was doing her surprise songs segment of the Eras Tour show. They performed a medley of two of Carpenter’s songs, “Espresso” and “Please Please Please,” with “Is It Over Now?” in between.

While Carpenter was on tour with Swift, she was gearing up for the release of her sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet. She was gaining popularity for the album’s lead singles, “Espresso” and “Please Please Please.”

The album was released on August 23, 2024. On the same day as the album’s release, Carpenter released the third single, “Taste.” Since then, she released one more single, “Bed Chem,” on October 8, 2024.

On February 14, 2025, Carpenter released a deluxe version of the album. It featured a collaboration between her and Dolly Parton. They recorded a new country-inspired edition of “Please Please Please.”

Now, Carpenter is on a tour of her own. The Short n’ Sweet Tour was announced on June 20, 2024. She started it with a North American leg that began on September 23, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio.

Her run of 33 shows in North America concluded on November 18, 2024, at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. She will now take the tour to Europe, starting the tour on March 3, 2025, in Dublin, Ireland.

Expect a “funny” appearance from Travis Kelce in Happy Gilmore 2, as star Adam Sandler praised the Kansas City Chiefs Chiefs tight end.

During an interview with Vanity Fair at the 50th anniversary episode of SNL, Sandler was asked to rate the tight end’s performance. “12,” he quickly replied. “Funny as hell. No kidding; unbelievable.”

This is great news for fans of Kelce and Happy Gilmore. He is one of the many celebrity cameos in the sequel (also included in the movie is Bad Bunny), and he will probably have a bit role.

 

Fans will not have to wait too much longer for Happy Gilmore 2. It recently wrapped filming in December 2024, so the post-production process is underway. Expect updates on a trailer and subsequent release coming in the near future.

What is Happy Gilmore 2 about?

The upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 will pair returning star Adam Sandler with new ones, such as Travis Kelce. It will also bring back Julie Bower, Christopher McDonald, Dennis Dugan, Allen Covert, and Ben Stiller from the first movie.

Some of the other stars include Margaret Qualley and Benny Safdie. Additionally, Eminem, Dan Patrick, Becky Lynch, Reggie Bush, and Maxwell Jacob Friedman (better known as MJF in AEW) will also appear alongside Kelce.

Sandler co-wrote the script with Tim Herlihy and also produced it via his Happy Madison Productions banner. Netflix holds the distribution rights to the sequel.

Happy Gilmore 2 is the latest venture between Adam Sandler and Netflix. He has starred in several movies for them, including Murder Mystery, Hustle, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, Leo, and Spaceman.

What is Kelce up to?

Currently, Kelce is enjoying his offseason following the Kansas City Chiefs’ disappointing Super Bowl 59 performance. They lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 40-22 as they attempted to win their third Super Bowl in a row.

Unfortunately, Travis Kelce was largely a non-factor in the game. He had four catches for 39 yards on six targets. That was still good enough to finish second on the team in catches and yards, though, behind Xavier Worthy (eight catches for 157 yards and two touchdowns).

Now, the star tight end will have a few months off before having to get back into football, should he choose to come back. There have been rumors of him hanging it up after the season. Chiefs fans will find out sooner or later whether or not he plans to play in 2025.

The 2024 NFL season was not one of Kelce’s best. He finished the season with 87 receptions, 12th in the league, but only 823 yards. He also only caught three touchdowns.

It was a continuation of his slow decline. After catching 110 passes for 1,338 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2022, he only caught 93 passes for 984 yards and five touchdowns in 2023. Still, the Chiefs managed to win the Super Bowl in both years.

Overall, Kelce has logged over 1,000 catches, 12,100 yards, and 77 touchdowns in his career. If he hangs it up, he will be regarded as one of the greatest tight ends ever. He is a three-time Super Bowl champion and has been named to seven All-Pro teams (four First-team, three Second-team). Additionally, Kelce is a 10-time Pro Bowler. He made it every year from 2015-24.

Texas country star George Strait recently announced that he’ll be hitting the road for a short five-concert tour run with Chris Stapleton as co-headliner. The “All My Exes Live in Texas” singer won’t be seeing his exes, as Texas is not included in the tour stop lineup. However, he will perform in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh in May, as well as in Buffalo, New York, Foxborough, Massachusetts, in June, and Los Angeles in July.

“I keep trying to slow down a bit but you keep calling me back,” Strait said in a press release. “I can’t wait to see you for a few more again this year.”

This tour comes after Strait released his 31st studio album “Cowboys and Dreamers” in Sep. 2024. The Potent, Texas-born crooner, who is the only act in history to have a top 10 hit every year for the last three decades, frequently tours with Stapleton and Little Big Town.

Hall of Fame forward Kevin Garnett was one of the judges for the 2025 Dunk Contest and honored the late Bill Russell, which didn’t go unnoticed by Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown. Brown earned the 2024 Finals MVP trophy, which is named in honor of Russell. After the event, Jaylen acknowledged Garnett’s hoodie, which replicated Russell’s University of San Francisco jersey.

Kevin Garnett pays homage to Russell in the same city as Bill’s alma mater, which was a fitting tribute in San Francisco and added a nice touch to All-Star Saturday Night at the Chase Center. Before capturing his first and only NBA title, Garnett had a special televised conversation with Russell. Then, he helped guide the Celtics to their 17th championship in 2008.

Russell’s storied history with the Celtics will be featured in an upcoming documentary series on HBO Max, “Celtics City.” Garnett, among other former Celtics players, was interviewed in the series, which debuts on March 3.

Jaylen Brown’s approach to improving amid 2024-25 Celtics

Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown earned his fourth All-Star appearance. After he helped lead the Celtics to their first title in 16 years in 2024, Brown revealed a new mindset to improve his game throughout the 2024-25 campaign. At 28, Jaylen seeks new ways to sharpen his approach as Boston attempts to repeat as NBA champions.

Brown vows to improve his free-throw shooting percentage until he dies, per ClutchPoints’ Daniel Donabedian.

“I’m just trying to improve in all facets of my game, just all my weaknesses,” he stated. “Keep getting better and better. My playmaking, my defense. I don’t know. Maybe there are some other players who don’t really improve, but that’s not me. I’m gonna keep getting better until I die.”

Brown enters this year’s All-Star Game, averaging 22.9 points on 46.1% shooting, 6.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. He’s also shooting at a 74.6% clip from the free-throw line, which is the most efficient he’s been in two years from the charity stripe. Brown’s shot at a 70% clip or better since 2019-20. However, the lowest percentage dropped in 2023-24 (70.3%).

However, this year, Brown’s career-best 5.3 free-throw attempts per game is a career-best. The Celtics have the second-best record (39-16) in the Eastern Conference, trailing the Cleveland Cavs (44-10) by 5.5 games. The Celtics also entered the All-Star break 8-2 in their last 10, leading the third-placed New York Knicks by 2.5 games.

While Brown put together a strong outing for his squad, he ended up having a major gaffe along the way that resulted in him getting trolled by Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell.

For much of his career, one of the biggest complaints fans have had about Brown’s game is his inability to use his left hand. Brown has made an effort to prove these doubters wrong, and his strides with his ability to use his non-dominant hand helped Boston win a title last year. In the final matchup of the All-Star Game, though, Brown smoked a wide-open layup with his left hand, with Mitchell quickly capitalizing on the opportunity to poke fun at one of his biggest rivals.

“No left hand! No left hand!” Mitchell exclaimed after Brown missed this wide-open left-handed layup.

Brown appeared in his fourth All-Star Game this year, and he once again showcased his abilities on one of the biggest stages the league has to offer. Over the two games played in, Brown scored 12 points, grabbed two rebounds, and made six of his nine shots. While he got less minutes than some of his teammates, Brown managed to do quite well during his time on the floor.

However, he could have had another pair of points had he not missed this wide-open layup with his left hand, showing that even though he’s a perennial All-Star, there’s still work he can do when it comes to improving his game. Brown and the Celtics will look to chase down Mitchell and the Cavs in the Eastern Conference standings once they return to action for the second half of the season.

LeBron James agrees to 2-year contract extension with Lakers

LeBron James has agreed to a 2-year, $97.1 million contract extension that includes a player option for 2024-25.

LeBron James, coming off his 4th season in L.A., plans to spend at least 3 more with the Lakers.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — LeBron James has agreed to a two-year, $97.1 million contract extension through the 2024-25 season with the Los Angeles Lakers, his agent announced Wednesday.

Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul said the league-maximum deal makes James the highest-paid player in NBA history. His new deal includes a player option that would keep the second-leading scorer in NBA history with the Lakers past his 40th birthday in December 2024. The Lakers officially announced the extension on Thursday.

 

 

The 37-year-old James is headed into the final year of his most recent contract with the Lakers, who signed the four-time NBA Most Valuable Player and four-time league champion in July 2018. The new deal means the 18-time All-Star will make $46.7 million this season.

Barring injury, James is likely to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s career scoring king this winter. James and the Lakers also still hope to be in contention for another title if James and Anthony Davis can return at full health after an injury-plagued 2021-22 ended without a playoff appearance.

James’ new deal syncs with Davis’ most recent contract extension with the Lakers, allowing both to leave the Lakers or to negotiate new deals in 2024. Both superstars are represented by Klutch.

James’ recommitment to the Lakers also silences persistent talk of his possible departure as a free agent or in a trade. James hasn’t appeared to be going anywhere on social media or in his public appearances, and he praised the hiring of new Lakers coach Darvin Ham.

James has missed significant portions of the season due to injury in three of his four years with the Lakers. He was largely healthy in the elongated 2019-20 season when the Lakers won the franchise’s 17th NBA title in the Florida bubble, and he has been every bit the dominant player of his prime when at full strength in the ensuing two years.

Can the Lakers make it work in 2022-23 with their same core of stars?

Although his contract status inspired plenty of offseason chatter, James seemed unlikely to relocate after spending the past four seasons of his 19-year career with the storied Lakers. His family is settled in Los Angeles, where his eldest son, Bronny, is a 17-year-old senior and college basketball prospect playing at Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth.

James has occasionally said he intends to play on the same team with Bronny when his son reaches the NBA. Although plenty of obstacles remain between the younger James and the NBA, he could be draft-eligible in the summer of 2024.
