Per Whiskey Riff, Strait performed at Gruene Hall in Texas nine years ago to mark the release of his latest album at the time, Strait Out Of The Box: Part II. Strait performed that night for almost two glorious hours, running through his hits and delighting the throng. He mentioned his partiality to one song, “Amarillo By Morning.” Strait said, “My most favorite song I’ve ever recorded, and it was big in the dance halls, people always requested it. This one’s called ‘Amarillo By Morning.’ I love singing it.”
