Grizzlies’ Ja Morant’s home burglarized as part of Chilean crime ring: reports

The burglars also robbed the homes of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow

Fox News Flash top sports headlines for February 20

The same group of Chileans that burglarized the homes of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow also reportedly committed the crimes at Ja Morant’s house.

The Memphis Grizzlies have not commented on the ordeal, but the Daily Memphian and ESPN reported that Morant was “Professional Athlete 6” in the complaint.

The homes of Bobby Portis and a Tampa Bay Buccaneers player were targets in the alleged ring.

According to the complaint, the Grizzlies player’s home was burglarized sometime after 4 p.m. on Dec. 19, 2024. The Grizzlies beat the Golden State Warriors 144-93 that night in Memphis. The burglars stole “jewelry, watches and luxury bags valued” at about $1 million, according to the complaint.

The seven migrants accused of the burglaries, members of a South American Theft Group (SATG), with conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property. If convicted, each would face a maximum penalty of 10 years in federal prison.

A federal criminal complaint unsealed on Tuesday reveals that, since around October 2024, the migrants have been targeting athletes from the NFL and NBA — breaking into their homes while the players were away competing in games.

Mahomes and Kelce had their homes broken into in October, while Burrow’s was broken into in December.

“So obviously everybody has heard what has happened. I feel like my privacy has been violated in more ways than one. And way more is already out there than I would want out there and that I care to share, so that’s all I got to say about that,” Burrow said shortly after the incident.

“We live a public life, and one of my least favorite parts of that is the lack of privacy. And that has been difficult for me to deal with my entire career. Still learning. But I understand it’s the life that we choose. Doesn’t make it any easier to deal with.”

The burglars often posed for photos with the loot.

The Untold Story of ‘Blaze of Glory’: How Jon Bon Jovi’s Accidental Solo Hit Became a Rock Anthem!

The Untold Story of ‘Blaze of Glory’: How Jon Bon Jovi’s Accidental Solo Hit Became a Rock Anthem!

Songwriters often jump at the chance to write from the perspective of characters different from themselves, since it opens up all kinds of artistic possibilities. For a guy who was coming from the pressure of leading the biggest band in the world at the time, that opportunity must have been particularly cherished.

Such was the situation in which Jon Bon Jovi found himself in 1990. And it led to his impromptu decision to release “Blaze of Glory,” his first song separate from his Platinum band and a track that immediately proved his Midas touch at the time could work even in a solo setting.

    “Glory” Road

Things couldn’t have been much rosier for the band Bon Jovi as the ’80s came to a close. Their previous two albums had both topped the Billboard charts, and they were touring the world to sellout audiences. But the grind of reaching the top, combined with the unrelenting schedule, convinced them they needed to take a little break.

At the conclusion of their tour behind their 1988 album New Jersey, that’s just what they did. Jon Bon Jovi, the group’s frontman, did not intend at first to go out looking for solo opportunities. Instead, a chance sort of fell into his lap.

Bon Jovi was friends with actor Emilio Estevez. Estevez was in the process of making the film Young Guns II, a sequel to the 1988 hit that retold the Billy the Kid saga with hot young actors at the time. Estevez was hoping the movie could use “Wanted Dead or Alive,” the hit song by Jon’s band, in the film. Instead, the request sparked the singer’s creative juices.

    Trailing the “Blaze”

Bon Jovi didn’t think “Wanted Dead or Alive” was all that good a fit for the film, since the Western images in the song were simply metaphors for the life of a touring rock and roll band. Instead, he volunteered to write a new song for the film that would hew closer to the story, which is how he created “Blaze of Glory.”

He didn’t do it alone. Aldo Nova, the Canadian rocker who had once scored a minor hit with the song “Fantasy,” helped with the main riff. Although Jon is credited as the song’s chief writer, he paid Nova back by helping him release an album on the Bon Jovi vanity label.

Bon Jovi, who was used to the guitar expertise of Richie Sambora in his day-job band, called on another hero of the instrument, Jeff Beck, to play the slide guitar in the track. Jon would end up doing the entire Young Guns II soundtrack album, which ended up receiving a boost from “Blaze of Glory” and going all the way to the top of the U.S. singles charts in 1990.

What is “Blaze of Glory” About?

“Blaze of Glory” does a nice job of capturing the ethos of an outlaw who knows his days are numbered. This is the only way he knows how to live, and he embraces it with gusto: I’m a devil on the run / A six gun lover / A candle in the wind. And he understands his fate very well: I’m goin’ down in a blaze of glory / Take me now but know the truth.

Such a life is invariably a solitary one: Well I’ve seen love come / I’ve seen it shot down / I’ve seen it die in vain. Knowing he can’t alter his life’s inevitable outcome, he asks for one tiny bit of mercy: Let this boy die like a man / Starin’ down the bullet / Let me make my final stand.

Jon Bon Jovi was reluctant to call the Young Guns II project his solo debut, since it didn’t reflect his actual person as much as it did these characters. Nonetheless, with “Blaze of Glory,” he proved even without a band, his hitmaking skills were very much intact.

WNBA champion A’ja Wilson talks Caitlin Clark’s ‘privilege’ remarks

Clark has been the focal point of the women’s basketball world for nearly two years

Caitlin Clark received several honors following her first season in the WNBA. In addition to being named the league’s rookie of the year, Clark was also selected as the 2024 Time “Athlete of the Year.”

While Clark produced a strong stat line during her time at Iowa and at the WNBA level, there has been much debate about whether she also had an inherent privilege that helped her rise to stardom. During her interview with Time magazine, Clark admitted to having a particular built-in benefit.

    A'ja Wilson and Caitlin Clark

“I want to say I’ve earned every single thing, but as a White person, there is privilege. A lot of those players in the league that have been really good have been Black players. This league has kind of been built on them. The more we can appreciate that, highlight that, talk about that… I think it’s very important. I have to continue to try to change that,” Clark said.

“The more we can elevate Black women, that’s going to be a beautiful thing.”

Those comments received mixed reactions within the basketball world. Last May, two-time WNBA champion A’ja Wilson was asked whether race and double standards in sports played a role in Clark’s meteoric rise.

“I think it’s a huge thing. I think a lot of people may say it’s not about Black and White, but to me, it is,” the Las Vegas Aces star told The Associated Press at the time and shortly before she inked a major endorsement deal with Nike for her first signature shoe. “It really is because you can be top-notch at what you are as a Black woman, but yet maybe that’s something that people don’t want to see.

“They don’t see it as marketable, so it doesn’t matter how hard I work. It doesn’t matter what we all do as Black women, we’re still going to be swept underneath the rug. That’s why it boils my blood when people say it’s not about race, because it is.”

Caitlin Clark takes questions at press conference

Wilson once again broached the subject during a recent interview with Time magazine.

“It’s powerful to me,” Wilson, who was featured in Time’s “Women of the Year” issue, said. American gymnastics star Jordan Chiles was also featured in the issue.

“As a Black woman in the WNBA, we have our struggles in showcasing who we really are. A lot of agendas get pushed on a lot of different platforms that may shadow us. You work so hard, but you still have to work 10 times harder just to be seen. So when we can have our counterparts speak up, it speaks volumes to me, because they’re in spaces where my path is never supposed to go. It’s crazy that we’re talking about that in 2025, but it’s real. We see those things as Black women. We see where people stand up and speak for us,” said Wilson.

    A'ja Wilson shoots

Wilson did speak about the pushback Clark received for her remarks, but the Las Vegas Aces center also acknowledged the barriers she has faced throughout her standout career.

“I know [Clark] got a lot of backlash from that, because obviously we live in a world where they don’t want that, and it’s exhausting. But imagine dealing with that and then having to go out and play every single night, having to constantly have to worry, How are they about to downgrade my résumé now? What more do I have to do in order to showcase how elite and how serious I take my job? But I also do it with love and passion and fun. A lot of people don’t want to see me at the top, and that’s fine, but I’m gonna be there, because I worked my butt off to get there,” she continued.

Wilson said she intends to continue speaking out and using her own privilege in a variety of ways.

“I have a privilege in a lot of different ways,” she said. “I can be in spaces where a lot of other Black women, White women, however you want to see it, are not — but that’s where I’m going to try to use my privilege of being a professional athlete to help others, because that’s what gives me my why. So claps, steps, all the in-between, because I know it’s hard to speak out on that. That’s why I try to speak out as much as I can, but people just see it a different way. That’s OK. I just want people to understand that when people can speak up about us as Black women in rooms that we may not be in, that means a lot. Because it’s a little piece of us in there — they can hold that door open for us to walk through. So I’m grateful.”

Over the years, many fans have wondered whether Taylor Swift would perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, but it has never happened.

Swift and Kelce started dating last year, and their relationship has been one of the big storylines in the NFL over the last two seasons. The NFL, which has never struggled with viewers and money, has certainly benefited from Swift’s fandom, which has brought millions more eyes from across the globe to the sport.

Super Bowl 59’s halftime show, featuring Kendrick Lamar, received mixed reviews, but the numbers do not lie; he broke several records by being on stage.

Now, all eyes will be on California in 2026.

The Daily Mail reports that Jay-Z and his company, Roc Nation, have been feeling pressure to hire a female singer from “outside of the hip-hop world.”

In the past few years, Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Rihanna, and Eminem have been featured at the Super Bowl halftime show.

The mega pop star doesn’t want to do it until Travis Kelce calls it a career.

“She doesn’t want to do it now until Travis is fully retired as she would like to be at the game supporting him rather than performing at it,” The Daily Mail’s source revealed.

“When she eventually performs at it, she wants all her loved ones to be able to experience it. And as long as Travis is in the league, the Chiefs have a chance to be in the game, so she is going to wait to do it till he is officially done.”

The NFL wants Taylor Swift on the main stage, but she will never do it until Travis Kelce retires.

Based on a recent report, it appears he plans on playing in 2025.

That means Swift most definitely will not be contacted to be the Super Bowl 60 halftime show performer.

There was confusion at the Qatar Open on Thursday as Daniil Medvedev suddenly retired in the middle of his quarter-final match.

Felix Auger-Aliassime took the first set 6-3 and headed to his bench for the changeover while Medvedev approached the chair umpire.

The official then announced that Medvedev had retired, and the No. 4 seed walked off court without shaking his opponent’s hand. Auger-Aliassime and the commentators were baffled by the Russian’s sudden decision.

Medvedev later released a statement confirming he was suffering from food poisoning.

Medvedev has been having a disappointing season so far – he went 1-1 at the Australian Open and 1-1 again in Rotterdam. But he started to turn things around in Doha, winning back-to-back matches for the first time in 2025.

The world No. 6 beat reigning champion Karen Khachanov in his opening match and, on Wednesday, destroyed Nuno Borges for the loss of just three games.

But there was a disappointing end to his Qatar Open campaign on Thursday, as the former champion retired suddenly. Auger-Aliassime reeled off four games in a row to take the opening set 6-3 and Medvedev suddenly threw the towel in.

There were no huge signs that Medvedev was struggling and the Canadian was unaware that his opponent was about to retire. He sat on his bench as usual for the end-of-set changeover.

But Medvedev didn’t go to his bench. He marched straight up to umpire Mohamed Lahyani and could be seen in conversation with the official.

Auger-Aliassime appeared confused before turning to his box and struggling. Medvedev then turned away and packed his bags as Lahyani announced his retirement.

“Ladies and gentlemen, due to illness, Mr. Medvedev cannot continue. Auger-Aliassime wins by 6-3, retirement,” the chair umpire said.

“I didn’t notice anything,” commentator Arvind Palmer remarked, while Lee Goodall said his retirement had “taken us all by surprise.”

Palmer added: “I don’t think they even shook hands, did they?” And Goodall replied: “Scratching my head here. Did not see that coming. Like you say, I don’t think there was even a handshake, was there? Just put the racket away and off he went.”

It’s the second time this week that Auger-Aliassime has benefitted from a retirement. The world No. 23 got a walkover into the quarter-final when Hamad Medjedovic pulled out of the tournament after injuring himself during his opening win against Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Auger-Aliassime will now face fifth seed Andrey Rublev for a spot in the final. The world No. 23 later addressed Medvedev’s retirement, explaining that the Russian didn’t want to shake hands at risk of spreading his illness.

“I didn’t notice. I didn’t know. I guess he was hiding it well because it was impossible for me to know that he was not feeling great,” he said.

“I think it was something to do with illness, which, you know, that’s why I think he didn’t, well he said on the court he didn’t want to shake my hand or the umpire’s hand in case of a virus, so I understand that.”

In a statement, Medvedev confirmed he had food poisoning. “Unfortunately I had food poisoning. Very disappointed to end my run here in Doha like this as I feel like I was playing well. I look forward to coming back next year,” he said.

A woman has made claims of being set to divorce her husband because he was among those booing Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl earlier this month.

The pop star was at the game in New Orleans on February 9, showing up to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, who was looking to win a third-straight ring with the Kansas City Chiefs as they took on the Philadelphia Eagles.

She would pop up on the Caesars Superdome jumbotron to a chorus of boos.

Apparently, Louisa Melcher’s husband was one of the people who booed the artist, so she’s leaving him…

“I’m divorcing my husband because he booed Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl, and I still don’t think he believes me,” Melcher told her followers on Instagram and TikTok.

“I’m not just doing this because of the action of booing, I am doing this because of everything that it represents in our relationship,” she continued.

‘I have loved Taylor Alison Swift since I was 12 years old. My husband even likes her too, like he’ll put on her music when we’re cooking together, he has a favorite song, it’s Girl at Home.

“But we were at the Super Bowl, it was me, him and five of his buddies and when they put Taylor up on the Jumbotron, all of his buddies started booing and my husband joined in.

“And that just tells me everything I need to know about that man because he didn’t care that that would hurt my feelings.

“He just wanted to fit in with his boys, he didn’t even care that that’s not even how he actually feels. He just like wanted to look cool, I guess. And that’s not a man, that’s a boy, and when you see that, you can’t really un see it, so I’m divorcing him.”

Taylor Swift Will Have “One Less Booer” The Next Time She Attends A Super Bowl

Louisa noted that she would be retaining her assets as she has a prenup.

“He probably will not be returning to the Super Bowl anytime soon, so that’s one less booer for you. Taylor, I love you,” she said as she concluded the video.

Many of the people who watched the clip do not believe there’s any truth to it and that it’s all for show. But those who do believe it reckon Louisa would be doing her husband a favor if she’s going to divorce him simply because he booed Taylor Swift.

While the video above is probably indeed just for clicks, Swifties are very passionate about Taylor, so we would not rule something like this out.

Paul Pierce’s Wild Relationship Drama: NBA Legend Gets Called Out for Trying to ‘Turn a H*e into a Housewife’ – And She Lets Him KNOW Why That Was Never Gonna Work!

NBA legend Paul Pierce has had his fair share of controversies, but his latest relationship drama has the internet buzzing like never before. The Hall of Famer, known for his time with the Boston Celtics and his fearless attitude on and off the court, is now facing public scrutiny over a failed attempt to “turn a h*e into a housewife” – and the woman involved wasted no time in setting the record straight.

From NBA Royalty to Relationship Controversy

Pierce, a beloved figure in basketball, built his career on discipline, dedication, and undeniable talent. However, when it comes to matters of the heart, it seems the former Celtics star might have miscalculated his game plan. Reports surfaced that he had been attempting to settle down with a woman who wasn’t exactly on the same page about commitment and monogamy.

Who Is the Woman in Question?

While her identity hasn’t been officially confirmed, sources suggest that Pierce had been romantically involved with a social media influencer known for her lavish lifestyle, risqué content, and high-profile connections. Her brand revolves around independence, luxury, and living life on her own terms, which apparently clashed with Pierce’s vision of a traditional relationship.

The Call-Out Heard Around the Internet

Things came to a head when the woman, tired of the speculation, decided to address the situation publicly. In a fiery social media post that quickly went viral, she didn’t hold back:

“Paul, you thought you could change me? Nah, baby. You knew who I was when you met me. I ain’t about that housewife life, and I TOLD YOU that. But you kept thinking you could turn me into something I’m not. Stay in your lane, champ.”

The comment section erupted with reactions, with some fans supporting her right to live her life how she wants, while others criticized Pierce for trying to force a relationship that was doomed from the start.

Pierce, never one to shy away from controversy, initially laughed off the drama. He took to his own social media with a cryptic post:

“Y’all stay in my business. I’m just tryna live.”

However, it wasn’t long before he followed up with a now-deleted tweet that seemed to confirm his frustration:

“A real one ain’t easy to find these days. That’s all I’ma say.”

Fans quickly dissected the statement, with many taking it as an indirect shot at his former love interest.

    NBA and Celebrity Community Reacts

As expected, social media exploded with reactions from NBA stars, celebrities, and even some of Pierce’s former teammates. Kevin Garnett chimed in with a classic GIF of himself shaking his head, while retired NBA player Matt Barnes dropped a comment:

“Come on now P, you KNOW better.”

Even Shaquille O’Neal joined the conversation on his podcast, laughing at the situation and offering some big-brother advice:

“Listen, Paul. You gotta know who you dealing with. Some people ain’t trying to change, and that’s okay. Just don’t set yourself up, man.”

    Fans Have a Field Day

Of course, Twitter (or X) had a blast with the drama. Memes flooded the timeline, with some fans joking that Pierce should have known better, while others argued he was just a man looking for love in all the wrong places.

“Paul Pierce really thought he had the magic touch LMAOOO”
“Bro thought he was gonna put a ring on a baddie and she said ‘Nah, I like my options’”
“This is why you don’t ignore the red flags, gentlemen.”

    What’s Next for Paul Pierce?

With all the chatter surrounding his love life, it remains to be seen whether Pierce will address the situation in more detail. Will he move on quietly, or will this turn into an even bigger public showdown? Given his track record, he might just surprise us all.

One thing’s for sure—whether it’s on the court or in his personal life, Paul Pierce knows how to keep people talking.

  • Lee Brice Unpacks The Powerful Meaning Behind ‘Cry,’ Teases His ‘Best Record’ Yet [Exclusive]

Lee Brice Unpacks The Powerful Meaning Behind ‘Cry,’ Teases His ‘Best Record’ Yet [Exclusive]

Brice is currently on his You, Me & My Guitar Tour.

Lee Brice is sending a powerful message with his new single, “Cry,” as he reminds everyone—particularly men—that it’s not only okay to show your emotions, but it’s oftentimes necessary.

When it comes to breakup anthems and love songs, Brice has proved his ability to sing from all the different perspectives of those in relationships. In doing so, he gives listeners an outlet to express what they’re feeling and help put their thoughts into words.

He explained to Country Now that while he initially saw many of his heartfelt songs like “Hard to Love” and “I Don’t Dance,” as being “for the girls,” he quickly discovered that many guys have also connected with them. Now, with “Cry,” he’s leaning into the sentiment that guys also need emotive anthems to navigate their tough moments in life, especially breakups.

“That’s obviously an important message to be able to show you feelings because [if] you keep ’em all held in, you never know,” Brice shared. “I’ve always loved both sides of the equation. ‘Hard To Love’ or ‘I Don’t Dance’ or something like that, I’ve always looked at it like this was for the girls, but it’s also for the dudes. So I’ll be singing ‘I Don’t Dance’ and the girls will be going, ‘oh my God, it’s my wedding song’ or whatever. And the guy’s like, ‘yeah, it’s my wedding song, man.’ They’re the ones out there really digging it.”

He continued, “And sometimes songs are just one or the other. My biggest things in my life, in my career, have been the ones that really walk the line. Like, there’s sensitive songs that a guy might not know how to say, and I hopefully give ’em a vehicle for how they can say it and they’re like, ‘yes, thank you. That was perfect, man.’”

    Brice Instantly Connected With “Cry”

“Cry” was penned by Ben Hayslip, David Garcia and Dallas Davidson, who also happens to be a close friend of Brice’s. The South Carolina native recalls inviting Davidson over to the studio to help him decipher which songs to include on his next record out of the 25-30 tunes he had already recorded. The conversation eventually turned into Davidson discussing a new song he had written that was potentially going to be recorded by the GRAMMY nominated artist, Teddy Swims. Brice instantly fell in love with the track and offered up the idea to record it as a duet with Swims.

Although the collaboration didn’t work out due to scheduling conflicts, Brice got to bring the tune to life on his own.

“[There was] just really something about it. I loved the simple twist of it says cry, you’re thinking you’re going to hear some sad thing, and it is just not. It’s so Dallas, it’s so us guys that aren’t afraid to, in a real thing, aren’t afraid to show some emotion. We might be tough old rednecks, but we got hearts,” he pointed out.
The multi-Platinum Curb Records recording artist felt so drawn to the ‘50s doo wop sound that Davidson had created on the demo that he decided to keep that same vibe while adding a modern twist. This nostalgic spirit of the tune combined with the upbeat tempo allows listeners of any generation to feel captivated by Brice’s gritty vocals.

“I wanted to get it just right. Sometimes it’s hard to walk a line between going to do something classic like a ‘50s doo wop, but you still got to put your own kind of spin on it and then also just something for the kids to listen to where they still like it,” he explained.

    Watch The Brand-New Music Video

That groovy retro sound is further elevated in the “Cry” music video. Directed by Chase Lauer, the footage finds Brice taking on the responsibility of helping a heartbroken guy mend his relationship with the girl who still had a tight grip on his heart.

“It was so much fun, honestly. I usually love to get in and either come up with the idea, the treatment for the video or lean on Chase or Ryan and let them kind of come up with something and then [I] kind of get in it with ’em and we all finish it together and then shoot the video. But this time, man, Chase came to me with this whole idea for this video and I was like, I would’ve never dreamed of something like that. I mean, I just wouldn’t, that’s just not where my brain goes,” Brice said, praising Lauer’s work.

He put his trust in the director, and it paid off because the video takes the story and brings it to life in a way that isn’t too cheesy or far from being authentic to a real-life breakup experience. It captures the compelling nature of the narrative, but in a more lighthearted nature.

“I went with it, and we went and had, first of all, had a blast, and then second of all, the video, I just feel like it was so cool. I mean, I think you like the song when you hear it, [but] I think you like the song even better when you see the video. It’s just so kind of quirky and fun,” he admitted.

In the opening scene, Brice sits with a heartbroken man who, after experiencing a tough breakup, enlists the country star to express his emotions through song. From there, Brice follows the girl around, performing his new single at her work, at her home, anywhere she was, just trying and get her to listen. Finally, the message of the song sinks in, leading her to give her heartbroken ex a call.

“I’ve been cryin’ in my beer, cryin’ in my bed/ Cryin’ on the pillow where you used to lay your head/ I’ma cry myself to sleep tonight/ Who says a man don’t cry?” Brice delivers on the impactful chorus.

New Album And More Collaborations On The Horizon

Even though Teddy Swims did not end up on the initial recording of “Cry,” Lee Brice hinted that both artists are “still open” to a future collaborative version. If this duet comes to fruition, it will mark one of several that could appear on Brice’s forthcoming album, which he explained has been two years in the making.

“My goal is every time is to hopefully top what I did the last time before. I’m always wanting to improve and get better at writing and better at making records and better just all of it. And that’s what I was really a little unsure [about]. I was like, God, how am I going to beat this last record? And then even just song quality…it just kept coming together. Now I’m sitting here, honestly today and this week, I’ll be hopefully turning in everything and [putting] masters on. So I’m finally done with it, basically. And I am just over the moon about it.”

Getting In The Studio With Diamond Rio

Much like his past projects, fans can expect to see a variety of different musical influences and a broad range of sounds, from rocking country anthems to deep ballads. Plus, he teased an “extremely special” collaboration with the beloved country band, Diamond Rio.

“I grew up hearing Diamond Rio, so we have them on it. It’s a really special song to me in the first place and so it just needed something specific and something special on it. And we were struggling to try to find this sort of, we couldn’t really put our finger on what it was. We said, you know what? It needs like that old Diamond Rio guitar sound, just the guitar sound and his name is Jimmy [Olander], who played all that guitar on those records. And we called and he said, ‘yeah, glad to.’ And I was like, ‘dude, why don’t we just ask the whole band?’ I’m like a humongous fan of all of them. So we got Diamond Rio, the whole deal, on the song and it’s really special. It’s called “Heart Pine (The Ballad of Mr. Bill).”

“I feel like it’ll be the best record I’ve ever made for sure,” he added.

You, Me & My Guitar Tour Is Officially Underway

Lee Brice is fresh off the launch of his highly anticipated intimate acoustic tour, dubbed the You, Me & My Guitar Tour. The trek kicked off January 30 in Wilkes-Barre, PA and will find the country star bringing the stories behind his songs to life on stages throughout March, including a must-see performance at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium on February 18th.

Brice admitted he was nervous to get back in front of a crowd and perform all by himself for two hours, but upon his first show back, his hesitancy was replaced by pure excitement.

“It was awesome. We had three shows and they were all really good. I feel like I kind got every little thing kind of ironed out as much as it’s going to be ironed out by the last show this weekend. So we’re looking forward to keep doing it…It’s really special. And it’s been one of my favorite things. It’s really even rejuvenated me with just music in general and being a musician and being on the road and all the things. It really brought back a lot of energy and joy. Sometimes you can get a little blurred and get a little just stagnant if you just keep doing the same thing over and over. And this was a really cool thing and [it’s] been magic for me.”

Taylor Swift has been named Global Recording Artist of the Year for 2024 by the IFPI, the fifth time she has won the honour of the organisation representing the recorded music industry.

The megastar’s “The Tortured Poets Department” record also topped four IFPI charts – global album, global vinyl album, global streaming album and global album sales, the IFPI said in a statement on Tuesday.

It had a strong lead on the 2024 global album sales chart, which calculates physical purchases and full album downloads, with 5.6 million units.

“This has been a huge year for Taylor, and it has been incredible to see the extent to which fans worldwide are connecting with her superb music catalogue,” IFPI chief executive Victoria Oakley said.

Swift was first named IFPI Global Recording Artist of the Year in 2014 and then in 2019, 2022 and 2023, the most for any performer since the award was introduced 12 years ago.

According to the organisation, the prize is presented to whoever tops the IFPI global artist chart. It is calculated by looking at an artist’s or group’s worldwide sales for streaming, download, and physical music formats during the calendar year and covers their whole body of work.
