Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum can’t avoid the limelight. No matter how quiet he stays or how normal a life he lives (for an NBA superstar, that is), his name always manages to make headlines. And in almost every scenario, it’s never by his own accord. This time around, he has Brandon Jennings to thank.

During a recent appearance on Gil’s Arena, he called Tatum the softest Celtics superstar ever. Gilbert Arenas was not pleased with the statement. Tatum’s trainer, Drew Hanlen, weighed in on Twitter regarding the statement, and Jennings responded by saying that Tatum should win the MVP to prove him wrong.

This is everything that’s wrong with NBA coverage nowadays.

Tatum eventually responded to Jennings’ comment in an Instagram caption, mocking the statement by writing it out with miscapitalized lettering. But that’s beside the point.

First and foremost, Jennings using the MVP award as the barometer for toughness and success should tell fans all they need to know about his priorities.

Tatum just led the Celtics to an NBA Championship, but that’s not good enough. No, Jennings wants the MVP award. So, what’s more important? Because if Tatum had prioritized individual stats to win the award and fallen short of a title, he would have been slandered in the media for that. So, how does that make any sense?

Regardless, that’s not even the worst of it. The sheer fact that this was a conversation being had by former NBA players whose podcast constantly goes viral on NBA Twitter is everything that’s wrong with the coverage of the sport.

Instead of breaking down the game, talking about Tatum’s skills or deficiencies on the court, or uplifting the league itself, they decided to talk about a completely subjective, useless conversation.

They aren’t even talking about if Tatum is tough enough to compete with upcoming teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder or Cleveland Cavaliers—still somewhat of a silly conversation, but at least it would be relevant.

No. Jennings simply decided to slander Tatum’s name in relation to other Celtics players despite the fact that he just won a championship for the organization.

It doesn’t make sense logistically. It doesn’t make sense from a timing perspective. It doesn’t make sense at all. It’s foolishness.

And perhaps it’s a problem with NBA fandom in general because this is the slop that they strive to listen to.

What a ridiculously useless conversation to be having.

Luka Doncic’s much-anticipated revenge game against his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, was marked by a show-stopping arrival at the Crypto.com Arena in a customized $3 million Koenigsegg Regera hypercar, painted in the Los Angeles Lakers’ iconic colors. However, instead of wowing NBA fans, the stunt raised more questions.

The purple and yellow Regera, boasting 1,500 horsepower and a NASCAR-style No. 77 decal on its sides, was part of a Jordan Brand campaign that premiered before the game, leveraging Doncic’s departure from the Mavericks.

The commercial featured a hooded figure, presumably Doncic, in a grey sweatsuit, standing beside the hypercar with a Texas license plate. As the soundtrack of George Strait’s ‘All My Exes Live in Texas’ played, the figure replaced the plate with a California tag, signaling Doncic’s new home in Los Angeles.

The actual car then pulled up to the arena, heavily guarded by security, leaving many to wonder if Doncic was genuinely driving it or if it was just a publicity stunt. Car enthusiasts were also left puzzled, speculating whether the car was part of Doncic’s collection of 13 vehicles, especially since he had declined to purchase an orange version of the same model earlier in the spring of 2024.

In addition to its impressive horsepower, the rare and potent vehicle boasts a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V-8 engine. With three electric motors, the Regera can reach 62 mph in a mere 2.8 seconds and 249 mph in just 20 seconds.

It’s reported that only 80 of these speed demons have ever been manufactured.

RM Sotheby, a premier auctioneer of fine vehicles, described the car as “quite possibly the most outrageous exhibition of automotive technology ever offered for sale to the public.”

The auto made its grand debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, and its sleek “Gotham” version sits proudly within the Petersen Automotive Museum in LA. This particular model etched its name in history by being the first road car to shatter the 1998 world speed record previously held by the iconic McLaren F1.

Moving onto the sports arena, after the initial surprise following his trade, Doncic has been knocking out an average of 19 points, eight rebounds, and six assists across four games while sporting his Lakers jersey. He’s basking in the glow of his top performance for the team, especially after last Saturday’s 123-100 triumph over the Denver Nuggets where Doncic dazzled with 32-piece accompanied by 10 rebounds and a solid seven assists.

Chiefs’ Andy Reid sends Taylor Swift message after music star was booed at Super Bowl

Reid said Swift is ‘part of the team,’ like ‘other girlfriends and wives’

Taylor Swift watched the Kansas City Chiefs’ hopes of a three-peat fizzle earlier this month when the Philadelphia Eagles steamrolled the Chiefs to win the 2025 Super Bowl.

Swift traveled to New Orleans in support of the Chiefs and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce. At one point, Swift was shown on the Caesars Superdome big screen at the game.

Some fans inside the building appeared to disapprove of Swift’s presence and promptly directed some loud boos at the music star. During his visit to Indianapolis this week for the NFL Scouting Combine, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid complimented how Swift handled criticism.

Reid described Swift as a “good girl,” saying she has used the right approach when she’s faced scrutiny.

“She’s a good girl,” Reid told Pro Football Talk. “She handles that whole thing the right way. That’s a tough deal. She does a great job of handling it.”

Reid also lauded Kelce for his response to the increased noise.

“Kelce, I think, does a great job with handling it,” the coach added.

Reid suggested that critiques of NFL players’ loved ones often come with the territory.

“She’s part of the team and, like the other girlfriends and wives, they’re part of it. And that’s all part of the process.”

The boos targeting Swift appeared to coincide with some of the boos Chiefs players had to contend with from a seemingly pro-Eagles crowd as they emerged from the tunnel before the Super Bowl kicked off.

Swift and Kelce have maintained a relatively low profile since the Super Bowl. On Feb. 18, the “New Heights” podcast announced there would not be a new episode that week.

“No new episode this week, but WE’LL BE BACK with offseason episodes with amazing guests soon,” the podcast’s official account posted to social media.

Travis and Jason Kelce routinely post new episodes of the podcast on a weekly basis.

Much of the chatter about Travis lately has been about whether he will return to the Chiefs next season. During a recent “New Heights” episode, Kelce said he was “kicking every can I can down the road” as it relates to his retirement decision. He turns 36 in October.

Reid said he urged Kelce to take some time to “get away” before making a decision about his football future.

“I told him ‘Get away. Don’t think about all that. Just relax man. Chill down, and then we got time for that,” Reid said at the combine. “I know it’s out there that there is a deadline, but he and I talk all the time. So, I’ll figure it out from him.”

The Super Bowl loss also brought Kelce’s 12th NFL season to a disappointing end. He finished the regular season with 823 receiving yards, the second consecutive year the star tight end did not reach the 1,000-yard mark.

Last month, during an appearance on “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” Kelce admitted his thoughts on retirement tend to fluctuate, but he plans to “reevaluate” during the offseason.

The NFL veteran also said Swift continues to offer her full support for his playing career.

“She’s fully encouraging me to enjoy playing this game,” Kelce told Smith. “I got all the support in the world to keep chasing these dreams.”

Chiefs general manager Brett Veach suggested Kelce is leaning toward playing in 2025.

“How we left at the end of the season is that he was fired up. He has one more year under contract,” Veach said.

“Still think he has that fire and desire to play and, as far as I’m concerned, there is no deadline. I think we left (it) as he’d be back, and we’re excited to get him back and get him going.”

Michelle Trachtenberg has died at age 39.

The NYPD confirmed to PEOPLE that police responded to a 911 call at 1 Columbus Place in New York City around 8:00 a.m. on Feb. 26. “Upon arrival, officers observed a 39-year-old female unconscious and unresponsive. EMS responded to the location and pronounced the victim deceased. Criminality is not suspected.”

The investigation remains ongoing. The New York Post was first to report.

Trachtenberg is best known for her roles as Georgina Sparks on Gossip Girl and Dawn Summers on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. However, she got her start in commercials before landing her roles on Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Pete & Pete and on All My Children.

Her big breakout as the titular character in Harriet the Spy came in 1996. She also had several other prominent roles across film and television over the years, including in EuroTrip, 17 Again and Ice Princess.

Trachtenberg’s last credited role was in 2023, reprising Georgina Sparks on Max’s Gossip Girl reboot.

In the year leading up to her death, Trachtenberg sparked concerns online from fans who were worried about her health due to a drastic change in her appearance. But she clapped back, saying, “Fun fact. This is my face. Not malnutrition no problems. Why do you have to hate? Get a calendar.”

“I’ve received several comments recently about my appearance,” she wrote in another Instagram post. “I have never had plastic surgery I am happy and healthy. Check yourself haters.”

Trachtenberg’s final Instagram post was seven days ago, where she shared a throwback of herself wanting to “look like naughty #tinkerbell.”

A source told RadarOnline.com: “For her to make a dig like that in a birthday message is a clear sign things are not well between Jessica and Justin.

“Fans have gone wild speculating they are headed for the divorce court.”

As previously reported, Timberlake’s DWI report stated the singer failed a series of sobriety tests.

The singer was reportedly “unable to follow police instructions correctly” when he was pulled over on suspicion of drunk driving and “smelled of alcohol.”

He was also allegedly in possession of a vape pen during his arrest.

Despite the descriptions and statements made during the arrest, the Cry Me a River singer insisted he only had “one martini.”

Just a few months later, Timberlake pleaded guilty to a reduced charge in his drunk driving case and was ordered to pay a $500 fine and perform community service.

He pleaded guilty to “driving while ability impaired,” which is a violation under New York law, after he was initially charged with a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated.

The singer also had to make a court-ordered apology as part of the plea deal.

He stated outside the courthouse: “This is a mistake that I made but I’m hoping that whoever is watching and listening right now can learn from this mistake.

“Even one drink — don’t get behind the wheel of the car.”

Johnson, 34, recently spoke to her experience meeting Timberlake, 43, on the set of her first professional film role during a video interview with Vanity Fair as she reflected on a number of movie scenes from her career.

“Are you kidding? I was just like 19 and straddling Justin Timberlake and like whipping him in the face with my hair,” Johnson said, in response to a question about whether she held “preconceived notions” about Timberlake before meeting him. “100% had preconceived notions, but he was lovely and kind and really welcoming for a person that was just a stranger.”

“I think that because this was The Social Network and David Fincher we did this so many times that I’m like, I’m in it. I know it, I know all the lines. It’s still there,” she also said, as the scene played on screen.

In the film, she played a Stanford University student who wakes up with Timberlake’s Sean Parker after a hookup, subsequently introducing Parker to Facebook as a product for the first time.

“We did it so many times that I feel like I remember this and it’s happening now,” Johnson joked as the scene played on. “Maybe I was traumatized.”

The actress also added that she “was not allowed to keep” the red underwear she can be seen wearing in the scene, her only moment in the film. “They’re a good little booty short,” she said.

The Social Network famously depicted a dramatized version of Mark Zuckerberg’s founding of Facebook and the subsequent legal battles over the social media network; Jesse Eisenberg, starred as Zuckerberg, while Timberlake played Parker, the founder of Napster and onetime Facebook president.

Johnson and Timberlake previously shared a mini Social Network reunion when she hosted Saturday Night Live back in January; the musician and actor appeared on stage together during the episode’s monologue before Timberlake performed as the episode’s musical guest.

Johnson had reminisced about working on The Social Network with Vanity Fair before: in 2022, she and Andrew Garfield, who portrayed Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, spoke to their experiences on the film’s set with the outlet.

“You and Jesse were so busy on that movie, and I was obviously in it for four seconds, but I spent a few days on set just watching,” she told Garfield, 41, at the time. “I remember sitting down with you guys when you were having lunch one day, and you asked me loads of questions.”

Justin Timberlake appears to have poked fun at his recent legal troubles during his latest concert in Boston.

On Saturday, June 29, the 43-year-old Grammy winner spoke to his Forget Tomorrow World Tour crowd at the TD Garden, when he seemed to allude to his June 18 DWI arrest with a brief joke.

“So uh, is there anyone here tonight that is driving and … no I’m just kidding,” Timberlake said, apparently nodding to his arrest over a week before in Sag Harbor, New York, for allegedly driving while intoxicated.

Timberlake’s brief one-liner prompted an uproar of laughter and applause in the nearly 20,000-capacity arena, before he asked his real question: “Is there anyone here tonight, that it’s your first time here to the show? Is there anybody here that you’ve been to 1, 2, 3, maybe 4 of our shows?”

“For all of you that it’s your first time tonight — on a serious note — I hope that you feel the fellowship and the love,” he continued.

The *NSYNC alum then used the remainder of his speaking intermission to reiterate some of the points he already made during a few other shows — specifically, his June 22 gig at Chicago’s United Center, where he acknowledged fans who he’s “grown up with.”

“For those of you that have been with me through all the weird haircuts … don’t act like y’all didn’t have bad haircuts! I took one for the team. Maybe like 3 or 4 for the team, but who’s counting,” Timberlake said in Boston. “But it’s been almost three decades together, you guys.”

Timberlake’s latest onstage comments arrive almost two weeks after his June 18 arrest, when the pop star was pulled over after leaving the American Hotel in Sag Harbor and charged with one count of DWI and two citations. Timberlake’s citations were for allegedly running a stop sign and failure to keep in lane.

He’s due back in court on July 26, however, PEOPLE has learned the hearing will be virtual, and that Timberlake’s lawyer will attend on his behalf as the singer will be on tour in Europe at that time.

Per an arrest report obtained by PEOPLE, an officer spotted Timberlake’s 2025 BMW “fail to keep on the right side of the roadway” and drive through a stop sign. After a traffic stop, the officer claimed Timberlake “performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.”

According to the report, the singer told authorities, “I had one martini and I followed my friends home.”

Timberlake’s attorney, Edward Burke Jr., said in a statement on June 19: “Mr. Burke looks forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these allegations. He will have a lot to say at the appropriate time. He is currently awaiting full discovery from the DA’s office.”

A source told PEOPLE on June 27 that Timberlake and his wife, Jessica Biel, are focused elsewhere following his arrest and “have faith in their legal team and continue to focus on work and their family instead.”

“They’re always supportive of each other’s careers,” the source added. “Jess would never miss a show when she’s able to attend. She’s excited for him. They’ve moved on from the arrest.”

The insider’s comments came after Biel, 42, was spotted dancing in the crowd during her husband’s tour stop at Madison Square Garden in New York City on June 25.

Fans were looking right at the other half of Justin Timberlake after a stage malfunction during one of his concerts drew too much attention below the belt.

The Grammy-winning singer, who’s currently on his best-selling Forget Tomorrow World Tour, went about business as usual while performing at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Dec. 12. However, a wardrobe malfunction involving a tight-fitted harness has been going viral.

A TikTok video filmed by a concert goer showed Timberlake, 43, trying to situate himself in the harness and fans we all abuzz about how it seemed to accidentally highlight his groin.

In the clip, Timberlake can be seen pulling at the bottom of his shirt in order to cover the area.

The harness is used for his performance of “Mirrors,” during which he sings over the crowd on a suspended platform.

The comment section of the video, which has reached 5.5 million views as of writing, included a few quips comparing Timberlake’s mishap to a malfunction Chris Brown had during one his 11:11 Tour shows in Canada this past summer.

Comments referring to “Chris brown in a harness” didn’t specify the incident, however Daily Mail reported on an accident that highlighted Brown’s “manhood” while The Hollywood Reporter shared a video of the singer stuck in the air mid-concert.

Timberlake hasn’t yet commented on the malfunction or the video.

The Forget Tomorrow World Tour, which is anticipated to be one of the bestselling tours of the year, kicked off in April. Timberlake announced the news on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in January after releasing his single “Selfish.” He released his sixth studio album Everything I Thought I Was on March 15.

In October, Timberlake postponed tour dates from Oct. 23 to Nov. 2 following a diagnosis with bronchitis and laryngitis. He then canceled the Dec. 2 show in New Orleans due to an ongoing back injury.

Timberlake’s two-hour long concerts features a 29-song set list that includes fan favorites such as “My Love,” “Cry Me a River,” “Suit & Tie,” and “Rock Your Body” as well as songs from his newest project.

Justin Timberlake Turns Off Instagram Comments Following Ex Britney Spears’ Book Release Bombshells

The “Better Place” singer, who appeared to be at the airport, noted that he already purchased Spears’ memoir and was planning to “read it on the plane.”

“Everyone deserves to tell their story,” Bass shared. “She did and, you know, I hope the fans can again find some forgiveness.”

Earlier this week, Timberlake turned off his Instagram comments after the “Toxic” singer dropped several bombshells in her memoir about their 1999 to 2002 relationship. This included allegations that he cheated on her and that she had an abortion after Timberlake told her that he “didn’t want to be a father.”

“I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated,” Spears wrote in the book. “But Justin definitely wasn’t happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young.”

Though he has not yet commented on Spears’ revelations, Timberlake has expressed regret for his past behavior and shared support for Spears as she sought to end her 13-year conservatorship, which was officially terminated in November 2021.

“We should all be supporting Britney at this time. Regardless of our past, good and bad, and no matter how long ago it was… what’s happening to her is just not right,” he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter at the time. “No woman should ever be restricted from making decisions about her own body. No one should EVER be held against their will… or ever have to ask permission to access everything they’ve worked so hard for.”

Spears told PEOPLE via email ahead of her memoir’s release that, “It is finally time for me to raise my voice and speak out, and my fans deserve to hear it directly from me. No more conspiracy, no more lies — just me owning my past, present and future.”
