The Cleveland Cavaliers have won a league-high 49 games so far this season, and none of them have said more about how serious we ought to be taking this team that the one they pulled off against the Celtics on Friday.

Boston led this game 25-3 before the first four minutes had even ticked off. Even in a league where big, even huge, comebacks are relatively normal, that kind of immediate ambush should’ve buried the Cavs. Instead, thanks to 61 combined points from Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland and a clutch fourth quarter from Evan Mobley, Cleveland rallied for a 123-116 victory — their ninth straight — which should all but lock up the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference.

With 23 games to play, Cleveland now holds an eight-game lead over Boston with the tiebreaker currently in hand, making the lead an effective nine games. Boston is not mathematically out of the race for No. 1, but it ain’t happening. Cleveland is going to be the East’s top seed, and this is the kind of win that could prove psychologically huge if these teams indeed meet up in the conference finals.

After all, even as Cleveland has run through this regular season, Boston is still the favorite to win it all at +200, followed closely by the Thunder at +210. The Cavs are third at +650, which means the masses are not betting, literally and figuratively, on them as a top-line contender.

Perhaps the Celtics aren’t taking the Cavs that seriously, either. After Jayson Tatum buried a corner 3 to stretch Boston’s lead to the aforementioned 25-3, he had a little message for the Cavs.

I’m no expert lip reader, but that’s a pretty clear “get the *bleep* out of here” from Tatum, and one would be safe to deduce that his message ran deeper than this particular game. He was telling the Cavs that the fun is over, that they’ve had their little regular-season run but now that the serious stuff is starting, they do not belong — not in Boston’s arena, not in Boston’s class, and certainly not in the top-tier title conversation.

Tatum had a tremendous game, becoming the first player in the NBA’s play-by-play era to record 30 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in the first half. He finished with 46 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists, but his celebration was clearly premature.

Cleveland outscored Boston by 29 points from that moment forward.

Sure, Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis didn’t play. Holiday’s absence left Sam Hauser to get repeatedly targeted by Cleveland scorers. But Tatum, Derrick White and Jaylen Brown scored 99 combined points. A 22-point lead with your two best players going for 46 (Tatum) and 37 (Brown), at home, while shooting 43% from 3 as a team, is a winning formula 99% of the time.

Cleveland simply didn’t die, and that, more than anything else to come out of this game, is the takeaway. The Cavs don’t give a damn about what Vegas or Tatum or anyone else thinks. They know they’re for real, and if the Celtics didn’t before Friday night, they do now.

Several members of the Coyote Ugly cast reunited this week in Los Angeles, Calif., for a special screening marking the 25th anniversary of the film’s release.

The reunion was announced earlier this month in the wake of the wildfires that devastated parts of Los Angeles shortly after the start of the year. The event on Wednesday, Feb. 26, which included a screening of the film and a Q&A session, was held as a fundraiser to support wildfire relief efforts.

Photos taken at the event showed Tyra Banks, Izabella Miko, Maria Bello, and Melanie Lynskey posing together on the red carpet. The four actresses starred in the 2000 movie along with Piper Perabo, Adam Garcia and Bridget Moynahan, who attended the Q&A virtually, according to Good Morning America.

The photos taken at Wednesday’s event also showed the actresses who were in attendance posing beside Diane Warren, who wrote original songs for the film. Photos that later emerged online showed Banks, Miko, Bello, Lynskey and Warren all seated on a stage as the women participated in the special Q&A session about the film.

On Thursday, Feb. 27, Banks shared some of the red carpet photos on Instagram as she reflected on the cast reunion. In her caption for the post, the supermodel addressed her “Coyotes… 🐆🔥” and tagged those who had attended Wednesday’s event before asking, “Who would’ve thought that 25 years after #CoyoteUgly lit up the big screen, we’d be back together, sharing a stage once again?”

Banks praised the movie and the opportunity to reunite with its other stars as her message continued. “Last night’s anniversary reunion was magical, wild, hilarious, and deeply touching—just like the movie itself,” she wrote.

Travis Kelce says he’s not done with football just yet.

After months of speculation about whether or not Kelce, 35, will retire from the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs star shared that he’s returning to professional football for another season.

On an episode of the Pat McAfee Show on Thursday, Feb. 27, McAfee read a text message he received from the tight end.

According to the text message, Kelce said he’s “coming back for sure” next season with the Chiefs. “Gonna try and get to the best shape I’ve been this offseason and get back to the mountaintop,” Kelce continued, per McAfee.

The Chiefs star reportedly added, “Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and how I got the guys ready for battle. I can’t go out like that!!!!”

After parting with coach Nick Cavaday post-Australian Open, Emma Raducanu’s team has added another member ahead of a trip to Indian Wells.

Emma Raducanu will be joined by new interim coach Tom Welsh as she heads to the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells. Welsh previously worked with Raducanu’s US Open final opponent, Leylah Fernandez.

The 22-year-old will head stateside on the back of her concerning interaction with a fan who displayed “fixated behaviour” in Dubai and was subsequently removed from the venue, with Raducanu reduced to tears. An additional security detail has been offered to the Brit, who saw her last coach, Nick Cavaday, step down after the Australian Open due to health concerns.

While she has been working with Jane O’Donoghue, Roman Kelecic, and strength and conditioning specialist Yutaka Nakamura, Welsh will now enter the fray, having previously aided Fernandez – who wishes to chew the fat with Raducanu over their unforgettable Flushing Meadows showpiece.

Raducanu is still seeking a new permanent coach while Welsh helps out in the meantime. The Englishman has worked as an Academy Coach at Loughborough University, which he joined in 2022, having helped US Open finalist Fernandez in the past.

The Canadian admitted in 2022 when speaking on her relationship with conqueror Raducanu: “When we see each other crossing the halls, practice courts, we always smile at each other because we know what we did was incredible. We just want the best for each other.”

However, she has now expressed a desire to sit down with the Brit to reflect on their momentous 2021 final, though admits it may have to come at the end of this WTA season.

“It would be interesting,” said Fernandez when asked if she’d like to talk to Raducanu. “But now, because it’s in-season and we want to do well in our own careers, we try to put it behind us. We don’t want to focus on it too much.

“Maybe at the end of the season, when we cross paths, maybe we could have a conversation about it. For now, you can’t be thinking about the past. You have to be thinking about what you’re doing right now.”

Despite the addition of Welsh, former British No.1 Laura Robson feels Raducanu won’t take the plunge with a new permanent coach in the immediate future, instead biding her time while options are limited.

“I don’t think she’s in any rush, really, to employ someone new, just for the sake of it,” Robson told Sky Sports. “It has to make sense for her, and it has to be the right person.

“There’s not too many amazing coaches around who can travel full-time. So [her] options are pretty limited. You wouldn’t want to enter a new partnership without 100 per cent confidence.”

“It kills me to disappoint you and my team who worked so hard to make this show happen,” he added.

Concertgoers were peeved that Timberlake did not announce that the show would not go on until after the doors at Nationwide Arena had already been opened.

“Canceling bc of being sick is 100% understandable.. Canceling 10 minutes before the doors were to open is unacceptable,” one critic fumed in the Grammy winner’s comments section, while another agreed, “Dude, waiting till the last minute totally sucked.”

Timberlake was also slammed for issuing refunds instead of rescheduling the show, with one person pointing out that he did the same thing for his gig in Oklahoma City in December 2024 after sustaining a back injury. (He also had to postpone an October 2024 stop in Newark, NJ, but did reschedule that one.)

“This is literally the 2nd time this has happened and there’s not even a reschedule. We drove 3 hours and paid for a hotel room and you tell us 5 minutes before it starts that it’s canceled,” a livid netizen wrote, calling Timberlake’s decision “unacceptable.”

Thursday’s concert was supposed to be the pop star’s last Forget Tomorrow World Tour stop in the US. He is scheduled to tour South America beginning March 21 before heading to Europe in May.

Prior to canceling, Timberlake celebrated a mostly successful run in the US and shared how magical the experience was for him.

“Only one more show to go… and I wanted to take a minute to shout out this incredible tour family. These are the people who keep this whole thing running,” he wrote in an Instagram post Wednesday.

“You guys don’t get to see everyone on stage, but without every single person in this picture – none of this would be possible. So much love. Let’s do it ONE MORE TIME tomorrow night in Columbus.”

The former *NSYNC member hit several roadblocks throughout his time on the road, including a DWI arrest in June 2024, during which he infamously told police, “This is going to ruin the tour.”
