  • LeBron James set to become 1st player to score 50,000 total points

LeBron James set to become 1st player to score 50,000 total points

LeBron James set to become 1st player to score 50,000 total points

The 22-year NBA veteran is just 1 point shy of reaching 50,000 career points – regular season and playoffs combined.

LeBron James is averaging 24.8 points with the Lakers this season.

No player in NBA history has scored more points than LeBron James.

Not in the regular season – LeBron broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record on Feb. 7, 2023 after the mark stood for 39 years.
Not in the NBA Playoffs – LeBron broke Michael Jordan’s all-time playoff scoring record on May 25, 2017 after the mark stood for 19 years.

Already the all-time leader in total points scored – regular season and playoffs combined – with 49,999, LeBron enters Tuesday’s game between the Lakers and Pelicans (10:30 ET, League Pass) needing 1 point to become the first player to reach 50,000 career points scored.

LeBron is on the verge of the milestone while playing some of his best ball of the season – averaging 29.3 points on 55.5% shooting and 44.3% from 3-point range over 11 games in the month of February.

It’s his highest scoring average in a calendar month since January 2022 (33.8 ppg) and top shooting marks since March 2024 (57.1% FG, 45.5% 3P).
During February, LeBron also became the first player in NBA history to have multiple 40+ point games at age 40 or higher. Michael Jordan is the only other 40-year-old with a 40+ point game with a record 43-point performance on Feb. 21, 2003.

Two words that will forever be linked to LeBron’s legacy – consistency and longevity – are key to his climb toward the 50,000 total points milestone.

Consistency: Averaging 24.8 points, LeBron is 0.2 ppg away from recording his 21st consecutive season averaging at least 25 points. Kevin Durant (on pace for 17) is the only other player in NBA history with more than 12 such seasons.
Longevity: 11 players have played two decades in the NBA, seven have played 21 seasons and only two – LeBron and Vince Carter – have played 22 seasons.

Playing at an All-Star level in his 22nd season – ranked 14th in scoring and 5th in assists – LeBron continues to defy Father Time and push the records he’s already set even higher for future generations to chase.

LeBron ranks first in total field goals made (18,288), second in total free throws made (10,418) behind only Karl Malone and fifth in total 3-pointers made (3,005) behind Steph Curry, James Harden, Ray Allen and Klay Thompson.

What do all those buckets look like?

The Lakers enter Tuesday’s matchup with the Pelicans on a six-game win streak and are a league-best 18-4 since Jan. 15 to climb to second in the Western Conference.

With the Lakers in position to earn a guaranteed playoff spot with a top six finish, LeBron not only has the 23 remaining games in the regular season – but a likely playoff run – to continue to add to his career totals.

Beyond that is the realm of the unprecedented – as no player has ever played 23 seasons in NBA history.

LeBron’s career has already been filled with unprecedented moments. And another can be reached Tuesday in L.A. as he creates the 50,000 total point club.

Inside Dolly Parton’s intensely private marriage to husband Carl Dean and the real reason they never had kids

Dolly Parton announced the tragic news on Monday that her longtime husband Carl Thomas Dean had died at the age of 82.

In a statement posted to Instagram, the legendary country songstress — who never had any children with her late husband — revealed that he had died earlier on Monday in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dolly wrote that she and Carl had ‘spent many wonderful years together,’ and the two had been happily married for nearly 60 years.

However, their union has been a complete mystery even to many of the 79-year-old singer’s biggest fans, who have long been puzzled about why the two never expanded their family.

Although Dolly has been known for years for her bubbly personality and forays beyond music into acting, her husband tended to operate behind the scenes, leaving her to be the public face for the couple.

Now, DailyMail.com takes a look inside Dolly and Carl’s intensely private marriage.

The 9 To 5 singer first met her future husband in a place most wouldn’t peg as a hotbed of romance — the laundromat.

But both Dolly and Carl described the fateful meeting in 1964 as love at first sight in later interviews.

‘I’d come to Nashville with dirty clothes,’ she told the New York Times. ‘I was in such a hurry to get here — and after I’d put my clothes in the machine, I started walkin’ down the street, just lookin’ at my new home, and this guy hollered at me, and I waved. Bein’ from the country, I spoke to everybody.’

Dolly said she had a feeling that the mystery man approaching her would become a major figure in her life.

‘He came over and, well, it was Carl, my husband,’ she declared.

When the couple renewed their wedding vows for their 50th anniversary in 2016, Carl made it clear that he was just as entranced by Dolly when they met.

‘My first thought was I’m gonna marry that girl,’ he told Entertainment Tonight. ‘My second thought was, “Lord she’s good lookin.’” And that was the day my life began.’

Dolly and Carl began dating the same year, but it was difficult to find time together, as she was living with her aunt and uncle and didn’t want to bring him in the house while she was baby sitting her young cousin.

One day when she wasn’t on babysitting duty, she went over to Carl’s house to spend time with him

‘That was my first chance to go anywhere with Carl, and he drove me straight to his folks’ house and introduced me to his mother and daddy,’ she told the New York Times in 1976. ”Cause he said he knew right the minute he saw me that that’s the one he wanted.’

    Carl and Dolly get married

Around two years after they started dating, Carl proposed to Dolly.

Although she was over the moon, the songstress later recalled that her manager at the time thought being engaged, and then married, could harm her career at that early stage.

She decided against a large wedding because of his warning, but she and Carl were still determined to get married, so they opted to tie the knot with just the pastor of Ringgold Baptist Church in Ringgold, Georgia, officiating.

The only witnesses to the low-key ceremony on May 30, 1966, were the pastor’s wife and Dolly’s mother, Avie Lee Owens, she told Local 3 News in Tennessee in 2012.

‘I had bought a little dress, momma had bought me a Bible, some flowers on it. We grabbed momma and went back, and got married on a Monday, in a church,’ she recounted.

The nuptials were so small scale that Dolly and Carl didn’t even have time to celebrate, as she said they both had to go back to work the following day.

‘We took momma back to the bus station in Chattanooga so she could ride on back to Knoxville,’ she shared. ‘So she wouldn’t be on our so-called honeymoon, which was a few hours and we both had to go back to work the next morning.’

In 2015, Dolly told People that part of the secret to their enduring love was that she and Carl were pleasantly different from each other.

‘They say that opposites attract, and it’s true,’ she explained. ‘We’re completely opposite, but that’s what makes it fun. I never know what he’s gonna say or do. He’s always surprising me.’

She later shed more light on why her husband avoided the spotlight, which he ‘never wanted to be in,’ in a 2023 episode of What Would Dolly Do? Radio on Apple Music.

‘He went to one thing with me early on, when we first married, to a BMI Song of the Year [event], and he came out of there taking off his tuxedo, his tie and all that and said, “Don’t ever ask me to go to another one of these damn things because I ain’t going.” I never asked him and he never did,’ she recalled.

Dolly had one of her biggest successes in 1973 with her song Jolene, inspired by a bank teller’s flirtations with Carl. But several years into her career the couple hadn’t welcomed any children

Dolly releases her most famous song after foregoing children

Dolly was already a star of country music in 1973, but she elevated her profile considerably with the release of her hit single Jolene.

The song, which Beyoncé recently performed with rewritten lyrics on her Cowboy Carter album, was inspired by a bank teller that Parton came to think was flirting a bit too heavily with her husband.

‘She got this terrible crush on my husband,’ the singer told NPR in 2008. ‘And he just loved going to the bank because she paid him so much attention.

‘It was kinda like a running joke between us — when I was saying, “Hell, you’re spending a lot of time at the bank. I don’t believe we’ve got that kind of money,”‘ she joked. ‘So it’s really an innocent song all around, but sounds like a dreadful one.’

Despite the somber, pleading tone of the classic song, Dolly later claimed to the crowd at the Glastonbury Festival in 2014 that she ‘put a stop to’ the woman’s flirtations with her husband.

Despite achieving more success than she ever imagined, Dolly and Carl had had no children seven years into their marriage — and they never would.

While speaking to Saga Magazine in 2023, the performer shed some light on why she and Carl kept their family as a duo.

‘When you’re a young couple, you think you’re going to have kids, but it just wasn’t one of those burning things for me,’ she explained. ‘I had my career and my music and I was traveling. If I’d had kids, I’d have stayed at home with them. I’m sure and worried myself to death about them.’

Later, she felt vindicated by her decision, as she would ‘hate to be bringing a child into this world right now’ due to ‘everything that’s going on.’

However, in 2014 she told Billboard that she and Carl weren’t opposed to having children, and admitted they even had names picked out if they ended up having any.

The same year, she told People: ‘I often think, it just wasn’t meant for me to have kids so everybody’s kids can be mine.’

Back in 1977, she also told the publication that for her cover story that she wouldn’t want to have children if it meant ‘leav[ing] them for somebody else to raise while I have a career.’

But Dolly admitted in her 1994 autobiography that she had an 'affair of the hear' with her bandleader Gregg Perry in the early '80s, before he quit her band while work on the soundtrack for 1982's The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas; seen in 2014

Dolly’s behind-the-scenes love joins her as her career skyrockets — but affair rumors swirl

Carl had such a minimal presence throughout Dolly’s career that it was news when he opted to join her in public.

In 1979, Cosmopolitan reported that Dolly’s bandleader Gregg Perry had thrown a double surprise party, with one of the guests of honor being Carl.

Perry mused that Dolly’s husband ‘never goes with us, but this week he’s made a real exception’ since it was his birthday.

A year later, Carl made his presence felt again when he joined his love on a two-month trip to Los Angeles while she filmed her hit workplace comedy 9 To 5, which she starred in with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.

Dolly’s husband made more of a public show of his affection around that period just as his wife was hit by rumors of an affair, which she denied.

In her first book, the 1994 autobiography My Life And Other Unfinished Business, the I Will Always Love You singer admitted to having an ‘affair of the heart’ with Perry, though she stressed that it never became physical.

‘Gregg and I became very close … I had never spent so much time with such a well-educated and knowledgeable man,’ she wrote, via People. ‘I let myself get completely wrapped up in him.’

Touring brought the two together, but things went south by 1982 when they were collaborating on the soundtrack for her 1982 film The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas.

According to Dolly, the stresses of the film meant that it ‘was not a fun project for anyone involved,’ and it led Perry to leave her band.

‘He told me he couldn’t take the pressure and the B.S. of the business anymore,’ she wrote. ‘The joy had gone out of it for him and I’m sure that I was no picnic to live with at that time … I was crushed when he left … It just about killed me. I cried an ocean.’

In 1982, Parton shut down rumors of an affair while speaking to People.

She clarified that her husband ‘was the man God intended for me to have.’

‘We’ll just always be together … To him it’s all a joke. There ain’t a man in this world could ever live up to my husband,’ she shared. ‘That’s one of the things that keeps me from going too far.’

In 2002, Parton covered one of her husband's favorite songs: Led Zeppelin's Stairway To Heaven. A decade later, she wrote the Joyful Noise soundtrack selection From Here To The Moon And Back about their romance; seen in 2019 in LA

    Dolly’s songs of love

Carl was partly the subject of one of Dolly’s most famous songs, Jolene, a song about a woman angling to steal her man.

But in their later years, Dolly also wrote and recorded more traditional tributes to her longtime love.

Although she had recorded earlier songs as tributes to him, including Tomorrow Is Forever and Say Forever You’ll Be Mine (both recorded as duets with Porter Wagoner), she recorded a burst of new Carl-inspired songs in the 2000s and 2010s.

In 2002, she took a departure from her usual pop-inflected country style to release a cover version of her husband’s favorite song: Led Zeppelin’s Stairway To Heaven.

The song, included on her album Halos & Horns, was more country and bluegrass than hard rock after she got her hands on it, but she returned to the song on 2023’s Rockstar, which was also a tribute to her husband and his love of rock music.

That time around, she recorded a more faithful, rocking version with an assist from Lizzo.

‘My husband has such an odd taste in music, and he loves Led Zeppelin,’ Dolly explained in a promotional interview from 2002. ‘He’s been a “Led Head” from day one and also loves bluegrass and big-band music.

‘Stairway to Heaven was always Carl’s favorite. It was kind of like “our song” because at romantic times or sweet times, we’d just be riding around in the car and if that would come on, Lord, he’d just knock us out of the car turning it up full blast,’ she said.

Then, in 2012, she paid a more direct tribute to her husband by recording the love song From Here To The Moon And Back for her film Joyful Noise.

In the film, which also features Keke Palmer, Dolly’s character performs the song for her husband, played by her real-life friend and occasional collaborator Kris Kristofferson.

Dolly later rerecorded the song as a duet with another longtime friend, Willy Nelson, for her 2014 album Blue Smoke.

‘I thought in order to make it really real and really touching, I would write it about my real, true emotions about someone I really do love and have loved for more than half of my life,’ she told The Boot.

Dolly also confirmed to Rolling Stone in 2016 that her song Say Forever You’ll Be Mine, released the same year, was also inspired by her husband, as were several of the other songs on her album Pure And Simple.

Dolly and Carl renew their vows for their 50th anniversary — and finally take their honeymoon

On May 30, 2016, Dolly and Carl renewed their vows at their home in Nashville to mark their 50th wedding anniversary.

‘I got all dressed up in the most beautiful gown you’ve ever seen and dressed that husband of mine up. He looked like a handsome dude out of Hollywood,’ she told Rolling Stone in 2016. ‘We had a few family and friends around. We didn’t plan anything big at all because we didn’t want any kind of strain, any kind of tension, any kind of commotion, so we planned it cleverly and carefully.

‘We just had a simple little ceremony at our chapel at our place,’ she shared. ‘We just had just a few people who needed to be there to make sure they got the pictures and the few things that we needed. We just had fun with it.’

Dolly later revealed that she and Carl were getting their second chance at a honeymoon with a long RV trip, which had long been a favorite way for them to travel without too much commotion.

Leigh Sabine always seemed to be spinning some sort of tale.

That’s according to those who knew her over the years, throughout her mysterious moves from Britain to New Zealand, then to Australia, and then back to Britain, where she settled in Wales. Throughout that time, according to The Washington Post, Leigh had sought a life of fame as a cabaret singer, and she told plenty of people she had succeeded — just in other places, at other times in her life.

But the biggest mystery surrounding Leigh — and the one that would eventually bring her international fame — was the disappearance of her husband John Sabine in 1997. Over the years, Leigh made passing references to murdering John, but people believed her about as much as they believed her tales about her music career, according to the BBC.

It just wasn’t until November 2015, when John’s body was discovered in the couple’s backyard, that Leigh’s friends finally began to believe the stories she told.Leigh and John Sabine married in 1960 and had five children together, first meeting when she was a teenager and John was already married with two other children. The couple made several big moves over their next four decades together, according to the Post, all in an effort for Leigh to find fame and fortune as a singer.

The New Zealand Herald reported in 2024 that Leigh and John’s many moves culminated in their abandoning their five children at an Auckland foster care facility before heading back to Britain, where they remained through John’s 1997 death and the discovery of his body 18 years later — which came after a neighbor’s prank went horribly wrong.A woman named Michelle James heard that the previous tenant of her Wales flat, Leigh Sabine, had kept a medical skeleton in a package in the backyard. Leigh, who had died of cancer a month earlier in October 2015, had often asked her caregiver to move the hefty package and made seemingly joking references to a body being kept inside of it, according to the BBC.

The outlet reported that James and her friend, Rhian Lee, decided one day to use the so-called medical skeleton for a prank. But when they cut the package open, bodily fluids from the carefully preserved corpse spilled onto their hands, prompting them to call police. The Investigation

DNA analysis would later confirm the body found in the Sabine’s backyard belonged to John, who was 67 at the time he was last seen in 1997, according to The Guardian.

During an inquiry into John’s murder in 2016, one of Leigh’s friends, Valerie Chalkley, testified that Leigh confessed to killing John during a 1997 phone call. But Chalkley said she wasn’t ever sure if Leigh was being serious, noting Leigh’s similar grandiose statements about her singing career.

“The problem with [Leigh] was you never knew if she was telling the truth or not,” Chalkley said, according to the BBC.

In 2024, Glamorgan valleys coroner Andrew Barkley told the BBC, “Precisely what happened and the circumstances will sadly never totally be known.”

But other investigators have little hesitancy when it comes to their conclusion: “It is my view that Leigh Sabine probably killed John Sabine and wrapped up his body,” South Wales Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Morgan told The Guardian in 2016. “There was no evidence to suggest anyone else knew of his death.”

Millie Bobby Brown Jon Bon Jovi’s daughter-in-law slams media attacks as ‘horrible’

Millie Bobby Brown is fighting back, once again, against hateful comments on her appearance.

The “Stranger Things” star issued a public service announcement about the “bullying” comments she has gotten about her appearance. In an Instagram video posted Monday, the 21-year-old actress slammed comments about her “aging badly,” calling the issue “bigger than me” and “something that affects every young woman who grows up under public scrutiny.”

Brown has grown up working on the sci-fi series, which wrapped filming its final season in December. She was 12 when the first episodes hit Netflix, which she said has made people have unrealistic views on how she “should” look.

“I grew up in front of the world, and for some reason, people can’t seem to grow with me,” she wrote in the caption. “Instead, they act like I’m supposed to stay frozen in time, like I should still look the way I did on ‘Stranger Things’ Season one. And because I don’t, I’m now a target.”

The actress previously called out people who claimed she looked older than she is. Brown seemed to respond to the brash negativity in her comments with a since-expired post on her Instagram story to kick off the New Year. At the time, she succinctly wrote in black text over a white background: “women grow!! not sorry about it :)”

Millie Bobby Brown hits back at Daily Mail writers: ‘This isn’t journalism’

Now, the “Enola Holmes” star has time. She called out writers of Daily Mail headlines like “Why are Gen Zers like Millie Bobby Brown ageing (sic) so badly?” and “Millie Bobby Brown mistaken for someone’s mom as she guides younger sister Ava through LA” for their “horrible” and harmful coverage.

She called out the writer of a Daily Mail article dubbed “Little Britain’s Matt Lucas takes savage swipe at Millie Bobby Brown’s new ‘mommy makeover’ look” for “amplifying an insult rather than questioning why a grown man is mocking a young woman’s appearance.”

Brown continued: “This isn’t journalism. This is bullying. The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices, it’s disturbing. The fact that some of these articles are written by women? Even worse.”

She continued: “We always talk about supporting and uplifting young women, but when the time comes, it seems easier to tear them down for clicks.”

The Florence by Mills founder, who has previously opened up about being a feminist, emphasized her agency over her appearance.

“Disillusioned people can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman on her terms, not theirs,” she said. “I refuse to make myself smaller to fit the unrealistic expectations of people who can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman. I will not be shamed for how I look, how I dress, or how I present myself.”

Brown ended with a call to action: “Let’s do better.”

She added: “Not just for me, but for every young girl who deserves to grow up without fear of being torn apart for simply existing.”

Peyton List Breaks Free: Leaving “Cobra Kai” Behind and Taking *School Spirits* by Storm!

How Peyton List Is ‘Stepping Into Herself’ as She Says Goodbye to Cobra Kai — and Kicks School Spirits into High Gear

As List’s Netflix series comes to an end, the former Disney star opens up about her future plans and going off the grid with boyfriend Jacob Betrand: ‘I’m having so much fun’

Peyton List is channeling an Old Hollywood actress when she sits down for her PEOPLE photo shoot in a Brooklyn brownstone. Dressed in a timeless fitted black dress with art deco jewelry and a red lip—and unfazed when her left earring kept falling off throughout the interview—she says this phase of her life is all about confidence.

“I feel like I’m really just stepping into myself,” she says. “I feel like I know myself better than I ever have.”

At 26, List has worked the majority of her life. She began her career as a model at 5 years old, got her big acting break in the 2008 rom-com 27 Dresses as Katherine Heigl’s younger self and became a Disney Channel mainstay for seven years, starring on two hit shows, Jessie and Bunk’d.

For some child stars, the transition into the next phase of their career can be tough, but she celebrates her roots. “Some people only know me from Disney, and I love it all,” she says. “People are capable of so many other things.”

These days, fans may not even realize she was once a Disney darling. Karate Kid fans know her as Tory Nichols, an intense karate student on the Netflix hit Cobra Kai, which is in its final seasonTo lovers of the supernatural, she’s Maddie, a crime-solving high schooler stuck in the afterlife in the Paramount+ series School Spirits, which she executive produces. It returns for season 2 in 2025.

Offscreen she’s stepping back into life in New York City, where she was raised by her parents, John and Suzanne, before she relocated to Los Angeles to expand her acting career. “Growing up in New York, I feel like my mom was always testing me and teaching me to be street smart and kind of equipped us with a lot of just street knowledge,” she says. They also always had her back: “My parents protected me so much.”

Her boyfriend, Cobra Kai costar Jacob Bertrand, is expanding the city girl’s horizons. “We love traveling,” she says. “He’s really into backpacking and camping. That was a dream of mine growing up in Brooklyn. My parents were like, ‘We don’t know how to camp.’ So Jacob has really shown me the ropes.”

He’s also taught her how to be a minimalist: “I definitely travel really heavy. He’s like, ‘No, does this really need to be in the bag? Because you’re going to be carrying this for miles and miles.’ He’s been a good influence on my life, and I think I’ve been a good influence on his.”

As she looks ahead to her next chapter—and gets ready to head back to high school for season 2 of School Spirits—List cracks open the yearbook of her life for People.

Her Earliest Acting Memory: Just ‘A Kid On-Set’ of 27 Dresses

List was inspired at an early age by the New York City cultural scene. “There were so many performers and artists on our street, and we were always going to see Broadway shows whenever we could after school,” remembers the actress, who moved from Florida at age 4.

A modeling agent spotted her twin brother, Spencer, on the Staten Island Ferry, and soon Peyton was signed too. Before long, she was auditioning for commercials and nabbing modeling gigs.

At 8 years old, List snagged her first big movie role in 27 Dresses. “I remember the director [Anne Fletcher] took me under her wing, and everyone in the crew and on-set hung out with me,” she says. “It was fun being a kid on-set because everyone wanted to teach me about their job.”

She continued to nab parts in hit films including Confessions of a ShopaholicSomething Borrowed and Remember Me with Robert Pattinson—her childhood crush thanks to his time as Twilight’s Edward Cullen. But everything changed when List landed the role of Emma Ross in Disney Channel’s Jessie, which premiered in 2011 and ran for four seasons.

Becoming a Disney Darling: ‘My Middle and High School’

Getting a Disney show at 12 years old “was the most fun experience of my life,” List says. She and her family moved to L.A. for her role on Jessie as Emma Ross, the oldest child in a wealthy family. “That was really when I felt the shift of people knowing who I am and stopping me. It was slow at first, and then all of a sudden I realized how big Disney is, because I suddenly felt like every kid my age knew who I was.”

While List and her Jessie costars Cameron Boyce, Skai Jackson and Debby Ryan thought of themselves as “normal kids,” List says, a school field trip to the White House—following a cameo on the show by Michelle Obama—made her realize how “surreal” her life was. “We ended up going to the Easter Egg Roll there, meeting the President and seeing Mrs. Obama and the family. That was one of the most surreal moments.”

Peyton List photographed at a private home in Brooklyn, NY on October 17, 2024.

    Celeste Sloman

Despite being a TV star, List struggled with self-confidence. “In middle school I could have gone to my school dance, and then I got really scared and didn’t go. I was so nerdy,” List says. “My friend’s brother invited me to his prom, and I was too scared to go. I was like, ‘I don’t know anyone there.’ It always just felt weird to me.”

She leaned on her costars to get her through that tricky time. “Having this show that we’re all part of and playing a family on just bonded us so much,” she says. She still sees Ryan, 31, at the annual Cameron Boyce Foundation event, which the actor’s parents launched after Boyce died at age 20 from a seizure caused by his epilepsy.

Boyce “was one of my best friends, and he was like a brother to me growing up,” List says, tearing up. “Every time something big happens, I want to call him. I talk about him so much that I don’t expect to cry anymore, but it hits at different times. He was such a great person.”

Jessie led to the spinoff Bunk’d, which List signed on to star in for three seasons—taking her parents’ advice to avoid committing to a longer contract.

It proved to be a prudent move. “As it was finishing up, it felt natural to move on and explore other characters and other stories,” she says. “It had been seven years of working with them, which is longer than most Disney stars. I was really grateful for the time, but my parents were right.”

List also credits her mom and dad with helping protect her in an industry notorious for being tough on children. “I feel really lucky that our parents were always around. Looking back and realizing that’s not everyone’s situation makes me feel absolutely terrible,” she says. “But I feel lucky that we were in this nice family environment.”

Leaving the Bubble for Cobra Kai: ‘My College Years’

Leaving that cocoon and hunting for new roles brought as much uncertainty as excitement. “It’s interesting getting rejected for so much of your life and your job; it definitely builds thick skin,” she says. “I feel like every actor is just so used to that.”

Then came a surprise introduction to the Cobra Kai world thanks to Bertrand — just a friend at the time — who had already been on the Karate Kid sequel series for one season.

    Video placeholder image

“It was cool of him,” she says of the actor talking her up to the Cobra Kai creators. “He made a joke at first, though, and they were a little bit confused. They asked if I was a diva, and he was like, Oh yeah. His mom had to clarify he’s joking. That’s his sense of humor; he’s always trolling.”

The Cobra Kai creators had no idea about List’s Disney background when she auditioned. “They did say to me that if they would’ve seen me on the Disney show, they’re not sure they would’ve cast me,” she says.

List got the role — and it scared her. “I didn’t feel ready for that role of Tory, even on the final day of shooting,” List admits. “She’s such a presence, and she’s always ready to fight someone. She’s so different from me, but there are parts of myself that I found through playing her.”

Peyton List photographed at a private home in Brooklyn, NY on October 17, 2024.

Working regularly with a black-belt sensei on-set, List discovered “a lot of” self-confidence, and young female viewers have found inspiration in List’s character too. “The creator’s daughter’s school was separating the girls to do yoga and the boys to do martial arts, and the girls fought to take martial arts as well,” she recalls. “That’s the coolest thing in the world to me.”

During Cobra Kai’s final days of shooting, List, Bertrand and their costars tried to be as “present as possible” and cherished their time together. “I got to know Billy Zabka and Ralph Macchio so much more because it was the last time. I feel like we all were just opening up so much more and just really enjoying the moment….[Ralph] gives such great advice, and he really looks out for us.”

    Video placeholder image

Still, she was relieved to wrap shooting those intense fight sequences. “I usually pass out immediately,” she says. “If I even shower [afterward], that’s a good day.”

    A Spirited New Chapter: ‘It’s Like Post-College’

Her current focus is season 2 of School Spirits, in which she plays a high schooler stuck in the afterlife. She teases that this season has a “much darker tone” than the first, which ended with Maddie finding out how she died and learning that another ghost, Janet, possessed her body.

The role marks a deeper range in her acting — she says she got “a master class” from her onscreen mom Maria Dizzia — and her growth behind the scenes as a producer.

“If I am going to lead a show, there has to be a certain level of safety and comfort,” List says, noting how much more involved she’s able to be with roles both in front of the camera and behind it. “I don’t feel comfortable unless I’m able to collaborate. If I do have the label of producer, then it’s much more collaborative, and that is really all I wanted.”

List has also found great support in her boyfriend, whom she began dating in March 2022. “Jacob is the best person,” List says. “He’s such an authentic, genuine soul, and I trust him so much. I go to him whenever I need advice.”

Her family is also as present as ever, keeping her grounded especially whenever she doubts herself, like when social media comments get in her head. “I’ll call my family because they’ll be like, ‘That person doesn’t know you, and we know you,’” says List, whose rescue dog Mo, a cockapoo, is always nearby (even at the PEOPLE shoot). “They’ll ground me and bring me back to reality.”

    Video placeholder image

On social media, 21 million followers keep up with all things List — and she’s continuing to learn how to navigate that. “There’s so much power and vulnerability and putting yourself out there,” she says. “I find myself getting a little shy with social media and not wanting to share as much, but then my best friend will be like, ‘I want to see [your life], even if you just post what feels right for you.’”

This chapter of adulthood is “beautiful,” she adds. “I have such good friends and people around me. I just feel really solid. I’m at this stable spot in my life now, which is the first time in a while.”

Her vision for turning 30? “I mean, hopefully I just say thank you, more please. That’s what I say now,” she says. “I’m like, hopefully just more of this because I’m having so much fun. So thank you, more please!”

Travis Kelce’s next-door neighbor is sparking a discussion about the early days of the Kansas City Chiefs player’s relationship with Taylor Swift.

Wes Bergmann, 41, sat down with hosts Michele Fitzgerald and Kellie Nalbandian on The Social Game Podcast where he discussed his insider knowledge of the A-list couple. Nalbandian said one of “the first things” she learned about Bergmann before his appearance on the show was that he lives next to Kelce, 35.

The Traitors star then revealed that living in the exclusive gated community of Leawood in Kansas City, made him aware Kelce was dating the “Bad Blood” singer, 35, months before it was revealed publicly.

“He’s an enigma — on one hand, he’s like this big, tough football player,” the two-time winner of The Challenge said of Kelce. “On the other, he’s going to have about 12 Taylor Swift songs written about him.”

The reality TV star claimed when he first told Survivor winner Fitzgerald that Kelce and Swift were dating he wasn’t believed.

“Okay and on that note, I was like the first person to know about any of this stuff and I tried to tell this woman a long time ago,” he said referring to Fitzgerald. ” ‘They are together, just so you know’ and she didn’t believe it.

“She didn’t believe it, she was like ‘she only goes for artists,’ ” he continued. “I beat the validating of her showing up to games and stuff by like six months.”

Fitzgerald chimed in, saying, “She loves a brooding artist, usually they are a bit scrawnier, they’re kind of like womanizers in a lot of ways. And then you have him who seems chivalrous, an all-American football player and he has just been winning and crushing.”

“To me he’s the boy next door,” Bergmann added as Nalbandian dubbed him the “winner of girly chat” for being among the first to know Kelce and Swift were dating.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end attended Swift’s Era tour on July 8, 2023, with rumors they were dating arising in the months after as the “Blank Space” singer was spotted attending some of his games.

PEOPLE had confirmed that Swift and 1975 frontman Matty Healy were “no longer romantically involved” on June 5, 2023, while Kelce previously dated fitness model Kayla Nicole.

It wasn’t until October 2023 that Swift and Kelce’s relationship was confirmed as they stepped out together at a Saturday Night Live afterparty.

“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Swift shared with Time in December 2023. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

After Millie Bobby Brown faced criticism accusing her of “aging so badly,” the Stranger Things star slammed their negative comments, saying she won’t “apologize for growing up.”

Millie Bobby Brown is sharing an important message.

After facing an onslaught of negative comments from trolls accusing her of “aging so badly,” the Stranger Things star called out the criticism for playing into a larger systemic issue for women.

“I want to take a moment to address something that I think is bigger than just me,” Millie said in a video shared to her Instagram March 3, “something that affects every young woman who grows up under public scrutiny.”

Millie, 21, went on to reflect on her early rise to stardom, recalling that she was only 10 years old when she first got her start in the industry, and she scored her breakout role on Stranger Things shortly after.

“I grew up in front of the world, and for some reason, people can’t seem to grow with me,” she continued. “Instead, they act like I’m supposed to stay frozen in time, like I should still look the way I did on Stranger Things season one. And because I don’t, I’m now a target.”

And random people on the internet aren’t the only ones who have singled out Millie, who previously clapped back at scrutiny about her appearance at the premiere of her film Electric State in February. In fact, the Enola Holmes star cited multiple news articles that criticized her for “aging so badly” or inquired what work she had “done to her face.”

“This isn’t journalism. This is bullying,” Millie stated. “The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting my face, my body, my choices, it’s disturbing. The fact that some of these articles are written by women? Even worse.”

Millie also called out critics for tearing women down for clicks, adding, “We always talk about supporting and uplifting young women, but when the time comes, it seems easier to tear them down for clicks. Disillusioned people can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman on her terms, not theirs.”

Despite all the hate that the Florence by Mills founder has been receiving, she emphasized that she refuses to “apologize for growing up.”

“I refuse to make myself smaller to fit the unrealistic expectations of people who can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman,” Millie said. “I will not be shamed for how I look, how I dress, or how I present myself.”

As for all the people who would rather “say something horrible rather than say something nice,” Millie—who tied the knot with husband Jake Bongiovi in May 2024 following three years of dating—urged them to look inward.

“If you have a problem with that, I have to wonder,” she said, “what is it that actually makes you so uncomfortable?”

Millie added, “Let’s do better. Not just for me, but for every young girl who deserves to grow up without fear of being torn apart for simply existing.”

  • Jon Bon Jovi’s Shocking Confession: The Dark Truth Behind His Decades of Loyalty to Dorothea!

Jon Bon Jovi’s Shocking Confession: The Dark Truth Behind His Decades of Loyalty to Dorothea!

Jon Bon Jovi’s Shocking Confession: The Dark Truth Behind His Decades of Loyalty to Dorothea!

In the world of rock and roll, few names resonate as powerfully as Jon Bon Jovi. Known for his anthemic hits and magnetic stage presence, Bon Jovi has long been celebrated not just for his music but also for his unwavering loyalty to his wife, Dorothea Hurley. Their relationship, which began in their teenage years, has often been portrayed as a fairy tale—one that has weathered the storms of fame and fortune. However, a recent revelation has rocked the foundation of this seemingly perfect love story, peeling back the layers to expose a painful truth that leaves fans and critics alike questioning the very essence of loyalty.

In a candid interview, Jon Bon Jovi opened up about a chapter in his life that many would consider taboo: his admission of infidelity. The confession came as a shock to fans who have long viewed him as the quintessential loyal husband, a man who has stood by his partner through thick and thin. Bon Jovi’s candidness about his past mistakes reveals a complexity that challenges the narrative of unwavering fidelity and raises questions about the nature of love, loyalty, and redemption.

The revelation of Bon Jovi’s cheating is not merely a scandal; it is a glimpse into the struggles that often accompany long-term relationships, especially in the high-pressure environment of celebrity life. As a rock star, Bon Jovi has been subjected to the temptations that come with fame—adulation from fans, the allure of glamorous lifestyles, and the constant scrutiny of the media. Yet, his admission speaks to the internal battles that many face when navigating the complexities of love and commitment in such an environment.

Reflecting on his actions, Bon Jovi expressed remorse, acknowledging the pain he caused Dorothea. He described the weight of his choices, revealing that the guilt of betrayal lingered long after the incidents themselves. This moment of vulnerability is striking, as it humanizes a figure often placed on a pedestal. It forces us to confront the reality that even those we idolize can falter, grappling with their own demons and desires.

While Bon Jovi’s confession may be shocking, it also ignites a broader conversation about the nature of fidelity. What does it truly mean to be loyal in a relationship? Is it possible for love to coexist with infidelity? These questions resonate deeply, especially in a society that often idealizes monogamy while simultaneously acknowledging the complexities of human desire. Bon Jovi’s story serves as a reminder that relationships are rarely black and white; they exist in shades of gray, filled with imperfections and struggles.

Despite the turmoil that his confession may bring, Bon Jovi’s relationship with Dorothea has endured. Their bond, forged in youth, has proven resilient in the face of adversity. In the aftermath of his admission, Bon Jovi emphasized the importance of communication and forgiveness in their relationship. He described how they worked through the pain together, highlighting Dorothea’s strength and understanding as they navigated the complexities of their marriage.

This revelation also challenges the notion of the “perfect couple.” Fans often project their ideals onto public figures, creating narratives that may not reflect reality. Bon Jovi’s honesty dismantles the illusion of perfection, showcasing the messy, often painful realities of love. It encourages us to reconsider our perceptions of relationships, recognizing that even the most seemingly stable partnerships can face trials.

The fallout from Bon Jovi’s admission has sparked debate among fans and critics alike. Some have expressed disappointment, feeling betrayed by the man they admired. Others have rallied around him, acknowledging the courage it takes to confront one’s mistakes publicly. This dichotomy illustrates the complexities of celebrity culture, where personal lives are scrutinized and dissected, often leading to polarized opinions.
