Speaking on the podcast, Musk – who previously said he wanted to die on the Red Planet – explained: “My view is that we should move to Mars, well not move to Mars, we should have a second planet to preserve civilization.

“Let’s say hypothetically, [a civilization ending event] will probably happen to Earth at some point.

“It is a matter of time before we get hit by an asteroid or maybe we annihilate ourselves with nuclear war, or super volcanos.”

Rogan agreed and added there were a fair few doomsday scenarios that could befall our planet so it’s ‘not a bad idea’ to simply ‘hedge your bets’ when it comes to venturing elsewhere.

This fear over humanity’s destruction isn’t exactly unfounded in recent years.

This is clear when you remember the threat of nuclear war is constantly looming when nations with nuclear arsenals butt heads. As well as this, the pandemic is still a recent memory and showed how quickly normal life can change due to a rapidly spreading disease.

But more topically, asteroid fears have recently skyrocketed as NASA has continued to give updates on a ‘city-destroying’ asteroid that could strike as soon as seven years.

2024 YR4 was first spotted after it set off automated asteroid warning systems in December 2024, and astronomers have been tracking it ever since.

According to NASA, the space object measures around 130 to 300 feet across (40 to 90 meters), and should it hit Earth, the force would be hundreds of times the force of the Hiroshima bomb.

Most concerningly, the initial probability of the space rock striking Earth was just 1.2 percent but updates have seen this number increase to as high as 3.2 percent.

Caitlin Clark is ‘face of the NBA,’ former player says

NBA figures have jumped into a “face of the league” debate just weeks after the criticism the All-Star Game received in comparison to the NHL’s 4 Nations Face-Off.

A former first-round draft pick out of North Carolina made his case about who he believed the face of the NBA is – Caitlin Clark.

“THE FACE OF THE NBA IS CAITLIN CLARK!!!” ex-NBA guard Rashad McCants wrote in a post Saturday on X. “Yea I said it!!!! She has handled criticism better than the people you consider THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!!! @CaitlinClark22 your the GOAT!!!”

McCants then pointed to the latest news about exhibition games the Indiana Fever will be a part of.

The Fever will play an exhibition game against the Brazilian national team in Iowa before the WNBA season begins. Tickets for that game sold out in under an hour. Furthermore, the Chicago Sky moved their home games against the Fever from the Wintrust Arena to the United Center.

“Like I said THE FACE OF THE NBA!!! This is the metric. Sold out in minutes. Preseason!!! We witness her get blitz by peers, alumni, randoms, politicians, and above all else women!! She never ran from the challenge. Accepted it and rose above it! Goat!”

Last week, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards said he didn’t want to be the face of the league. Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James empathized with that.

“Why do you wanna be the face of a league when all the people that cover our game and talk about our game on a day-to-day basis s— on everybody?” James asked reporters Thursday.

“That responsibility – it’s just weird. It’s weird energy from the people that… I don’t know.”

James said he understood where Edwards was coming from with his remarks.

“(Anthony Edwards) said he don’t want it. I mean, obviously, I didn’t ask for it; but I knew there was a responsibility for me – not only to my family, my friends, my community, and whoever that was gonna follow my journey throughout my career, not only to Ohio when I started there – but all over America and all over the world when I travel all over the world,” he said.

“I’ve always taken that seriously and understood from the beginning what being a professional is all about and being a role model is all about… I feel Ant. I understand. I completely understand. It’s just weird energy when it comes to that.”

Matt Lucas Apologizes to Millie Bobby Brown After She Calls Him Out for ‘Slamming’ Her Appearance: ‘Mortified’

The British actor and comedian, 50, shared “context” around his comments and apologized to Brown, 21

Matt Lucas is apologizing to Millie Bobby Brown after she called him out for his comments on her appearance.

Shortly after the Stranger Things actress, 21, called out her critics in an Instagram video, Lucas, 50, shared a statement in response.

In a text post shared to Instagram, the British actor and comedian explained that he was “mortified” by an article claiming he “slammed” Brown.

“Dear Millie, I just saw your post and wanted to respond, and provide some context,” he wrote. “Nearly 25 years ago I co-wrote and appeared in a sketch show called Little Britain. There was a character in it called Vicky Pollard, who had blonde hair and always wore a pink top, and in the photo you had blonde hair and wore a pink top so I pointed out the similarity by posting one of her catchphrases.”

He continued, “I thought you looked terrific and I was mortified when the press wrote that I ‘slammed’ you, firstly because that’s not my style, and secondly because I think you’re brilliant. I would not have posted it if I had thought it would have upset you but I realise it has and for that I apologise. Matt x”

On Monday, March 3, Brown took to Instagram to share a makeup-free video discussing the recent media critique of her appearance. The actress said it was important to address “bullying” in the media industry as growing up under public scrutiny impacts “every young woman.”

“I started in this industry when I was 10 years old,” Brown said. “I grew up in front of the world, and for some reason, people can’t seem to grow up with me.”

“Instead, they act like I’m supposed to stay frozen in time, like I should still look the way I did on Stranger Things season 1, and because I don’t, I’m now a target,” she continued.

Brown also called out specific headlines and journalists, including a Daily Mail article that claimed Lucas “took a savage swipe” at the actress. The article included an X post from Feb. 26 in which Lucas shared a photo of Brown after The Electric State premiere and wrote, “no but yeah but,” which is the catchphrase of the Little Britain character Vicky Pollard.

The actor later added, “I love her, btw.”

A few days before Brown issued her statement on Instagram, she shared a British Vogue article with the headline, “No One Cares How Old You Think Millie Bobby Brown Looks,” on her Instagram Stories.

In the post, she thanked the publication for calling out comments from critics about her new blonde hairstyle, which she debuted via Instagram on Feb. 1.
