Travis Kelce isn’t planning on hanging up his jersey anytime soon, but the Chiefs player knows he wants to call time on his career on his ‘own terms.’

The Kansas City star detailed his ideal retirement plan while chatting to his brother Jason, a few months after the former Eagles center hung up his own cleats.

‘I think you were very fortunate that you were able to go out on your terms and that’s the goal,’ Travis said on Wednesday’s episode of the New Heights podcast, ahead of his 12th season in the NFL.

‘If I can go out on my terms and not have something happen to my body, like a big-time injury to where I have to step away, that’s the biggest goal in football to be able to do it on my terms,’ he explained.

Jason, who retired in March after 13 seasons in Philadelphia, called it quits because he felt he wasn’t performing at a high level anymore.

‘I love playing at it at a level where I know I can have a bunch of success,’ the three-time Super Bowl champ said.

‘I know I can go out there and catch a flat route and turn it into a 15-20-yard gain and make a few guys miss, the moment that I can’t do that, I think that’s when I’m going to be when I’m like, “alright, what am I doing this for?”‘ Travis went on.

‘I get excitement out of catching a ball, splitting a bunch of defenders and getting a huge first down when nobody expected me to do it. Or I scored a huge touchdown in a playoff game in the fourth quarter when the team needed it the most.’

‘The moment that I can’t do that, and I’m playing it at an average or a less of a successful level than I am right now, I think that’s when I’m probably going to call it quits.’

His comments came one week after addressing his retirement while speaking to reporters at the Chiefs’ minicamp.

‘I love coming to work every single day. Obviously, I know there’s opportunities outside of football for me. I think you’ve gotta keep in perspective that I’m a little kid when I come in this building,’ he said earlier this month.

‘I’m gonna do it until the wheels fall off. Hopefully, that doesn’t happen anytime soon. I can definitely understand that it’s toward the end of the road than the beginning of it. I just gotta make sure I’m set up for after football as well.’

Meanwhile, Travis’ teammate Chris Jones insisted he has ‘four or five more years’ left in him.

‘We can’t let TK go,’ the defensive tackle added.

Angel Reese and her Chicago Sky teammates endure travel DISASTER on journey back from loss in Phoenix (HD)

Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky faced a travel nightmare on Sunday that saw them still on the road at 3:30am.

The Sky were beaten 86-68 by the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday night but flew home directly after the game as they now turn their attention to Friday’s showdown with the Connecticut Sun.

But Reese, the team’s star rookie, posted on X in the early hours of Monday morning that they still weren’t home.

She wrote: ‘Why is it 3:47am and we still not home???’

Reese then directed fans who wanted to know more about what happened to teammate Diamond DeShields’ Instagram story.

DeShields posted a video in which she explained: ‘We got off the plane – well, we didn’t get off the plane. We were sitting on, like, the landing area and they told us our bus was an hour away.

‘They said we had to walk through the airport, get our luggage off of a conveyor belt and now we’re outside waiting for Ubers to take us home at whatever time it is.’

It remains unclear what time they actually completed their journey but, thankfully, the Sky now have four days off until they play again.

The Sky were beaten by the Mercury for the second time in the last four days, losing 86-68 Sunday night.

Phoenix beat the Sky 85-65 at Chicago on Thursday in the first game following the month-long Olympic break.

The Sky trailed by as many as 20 in the first half before the Mercury led 52-35 at halftime behind Diana Taurasi’s 15 points.

Taurasi finished with 23 points and five assists and Brittney Griner had 18 points.

Reese led the Sky with 19 points and a career-high 20 rebounds. The rookie has 20 career double-doubles after 27 games, the fastest rate at the start of a career in WNBA history.

Chennedy Carter finished with 16 points, six rebounds and six assists and Kamilla Cardoso finished with 12 points.

Alyssa Farah Griffin Shades Joy Behar On ‘The View’ When She Says She Was “Never Told To Shut Up” As A Kid: “It Shows”

Move over, Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg. It looks like The View has a new comedian in town.

On this morning’s episode of the long-running daytime talk show, Alyssa Farah Griffin wasted no time shading Behar after she revealed she was “never told to shut up” when she was a kid.

The hilarious moment happened during the final Hot Topic segment of the episode, in which the ladies discussed whether they think people become less gracious and less diplomatic as they age.

(Editor’s Note: The View is currently on hiatus; contrary to what you may have heard, The View was not canceled today. This article was originally published on June 18, 2024 when this episode first aired. The View will return with new episodes in September.)

“I was never told to shut up when I was a kid. No one said, ‘Joy, be quiet,’” Behar said, before Griffin quipped, “And it shows.”

The former White House staffer quickly added that she was “kidding,” though Sara Haines seemed to be the only other co-host who caught her subtle dig as she broke out into hysterics. Behar, on the other hand, didn’t acknowledge Griffin’s remark and instead kept speaking.

“So I’m the same,” she continued. “My edit button is iffy. It’s very iffy.”

Goldberg also denied that she’s gotten “less gracious” as she’s gotten older, noting that like Behar, she’s “always” been the same way.

“I don’t think about it. I do what I do and, you know, it hits the fan or doesn’t hit the fan,” she said. “I have no patience to care what other people think of me. I don’t. I can’t.”

What do you think? Post a comment.

Behar then blamed their lack of care for what others think about them on their comedic careers.

“The both of us are comedians. We both started and we still are. To some extent, I still am,” she said. “But that is what comedians do. We say what people are thinking and make it funny, hopefully.”

Goldberg added, “And then we say what we’re thinking,” before ripping up her cue cards from the day.

Jeff Bezos planning enormous bid to buy Celtics, per Bill Simmons

According to Bill Simmons, Jeff Bezos could be working on a huge bid for the Celtics.

Bill Simmons in the middle, Jeff Bezos on one side, Wyc Grousbeck on the other side with the big eyes emoji over his faceThe Boston Celtics are fresh off winning the 2024 NBA Finals, but they were hit with some shocking news when it was announced that the team was being put up for sale shortly after they won their latest championship. As a result, fans of the team have been anxiously keeping an eye on who has been linked to the purchase of the team, and it looks like Jeff Bezos has become the latest name involved with the sale.

Bezos is one of the richest people in the world as the CEO of Amazon, and he has been looking to purchase a sports franchise in recent years, having recently been linked to the Washington Commanders in the NFL before they were sold to Josh Harris. And according to Bill Simmons, there have been some rumors floating around suggesting that Bezos is plotting a huge bid for the Celtics amid their sale

“The Celtics themselves, the Grousbeck family, the dad of the majority owner Wyc is driving the sale. He’s 90, he’s a legend, he’s going to (get) 25 times what he paid for the team, and he just wants the highest price, he’s not like, ‘Oh these local guys, let’s cut them a deal.’ He doesn’t care, he wants the biggest price he could possibly get. In the last few days there’s been some legitimate buzz about Jeff Bezos buying the Celtics and I think it’s real, I think he’s going to be one of the suitors.” – Bill Simmons, The Bill Simmons Podcast

Could Jeff Bezos actually buy the Celtics?

Considering the massive price tag attached to the C’s, which is expected to come in around $6 billion, there are only a few people in the world who have enough money to purchase the team. Bezos is one of those guys, though, and if he is interested in forking over a huge sum of cash, he could end up blowing his competitors out of the water.

Predicting Celtics’ record after 2024-25 season schedule release

While this is primarily just a rumor right now, there is reason to believe that it could end up happening. As previously noted, Bezos was interested in purchasing the Commanders prior to their sale, and he already has an established link to the NBA, as Amazon Prime will begin broadcasting games starting in 2025.

There’s a long way to go until this officially happens, but it looks like Bezos could be one of the top names in the conversation to buy the Celtics. And if that were to end up happening, that could help Boston in their quest to keep their star-studded group around for the long-term future, even with the league’s new salary cap constraints.

Speaking to Esquire in 2014, Taylor spoke about her childhood growing up on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania, where she’s originally from, which she said Scott ‘tended to as a hobby’.

‘He’d tend to the farm as his hobby,’ she explained.

‘He’d get up four hours early to go mow the fields on his tractor. We all had jobs. Mine was picking the praying-mantis pods off of the trees, collecting them so that the bugs wouldn’t hatch inside people’s houses.

‘My parents were very strict about education and hard work, from the time my brother and I were really little kids.’

Her doting parents became aware of her passion for music from a very young age and the family relocated to Nashville when Taylor was 14 to help her pursue her dreams of becoming a singer.

Andrea previously told Entertainment Weekly of the move: ‘I never wanted to make that move about her ‘making it’.

‘Because what a horrible thing if it hadn’t happened, for her to carry that kind of guilt or pressure around. We’ve always told her that this is not about putting food on our table or making our dreams come true,’ she added.

However, Taylor went on to land a record deal with Sony in 2004 when she was just 14 years old, becoming the youngest signing in the label’s history, and then signed with Big Machine Records the following year.

Speaking to UDaily in 2009, Scott revealed the family realized the potential for Taylor’s talent from a very young age.

‘She was always singing music when she was three, five, six, seven years old,’ he said. ‘It’s Taylor doing what she likes to do.

‘We had a kid that was really passionate about it, and when she was 13 she got a development deal at RCA.

Andrea marketed Taylor’s music on MySpace and ‘encouraged’ the use of a southern accent, though Taylor is from Pennsylvania, because Andrea knew that would sell

Taylor’s fans have long speculated that the singer’s Southern accent – which she spoke and sung with in the early days of her career – was ‘faked’.

The pop star spent the first 14 years of her life living in Pennsylvania before the Swift family relocated to Nashville, Tennessee so Taylor could pursue a music career.

Although it’s possible Taylor picked up her accent as a result of the move, fans have suggested that it was something her parents and publicity team encouraged.

According to JSTOR’s linguist Chi Luu, the single ’22’ is one of the last times fans can hear Taylor’s Southern twang in her songs.

They wrote in 2020: ‘In the genre is pure pop, but the southern accent is still a force to be reckoned with. The “e” of “twenty” sounds more like “twinny” and the “two” sounds more like “tew.”

However, whether Taylor code-switches because of the musical genre in which she’s singing, or because she may have only acquired her accent after moving to the South as a young teen.

Taylor has never directly addressed the speculation that her Southern accent was ‘faked’ or any rumours that Andrea and her team encouraged it.

It has also been theorised that Andrea is behind Taylor’s debut single being called Tim McGraw.

The idea was, by putting newbie Taylor’s name beside established artist Tim’s, his fans would be drawn to her to try to figure out what she was about.

Jeff Bezos Poised to Make Massive Bid for Boston Celtics: Bill Simmons’ Shocking Revelation

Jeff Bezos Poised to Make Massive Bid for Boston Celtics: Bill Simmons’ Shocking Revelation

May be an image of 3 people, people playing basketball and text

In a move that could redefine the landscape of professional sports ownership, Bill Simmons recently dropped a bombshell: Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon and one of the world’s wealthiest individuals, is reportedly gearing up to make a colossal bid for the Boston Celtics. This revelation has sparked intense speculation and excitement across the sports and business worlds, with fans and analysts alike eagerly awaiting further details.

Bill Simmons, a renowned sports analyst and commentator, shared this news through his podcast and various social media channels. According to Simmons, Bezos is preparing to place an enormous offer to acquire the Boston Celtics, a storied franchise with a rich history in the NBA. The Celtics, founded in 1946, are one of the most successful and beloved teams in basketball history, boasting a record 17 NBA championships.

While specific figures have not yet been confirmed, Simmons’ assertion implies that Bezos’ bid would be substantial, potentially setting a new record for the highest price ever paid for a sports franchise. The current ownership group of the Celtics, led by Wyc Grousbeck and a group of investors, is known for its commitment to maintaining the team’s competitive edge and legacy. Whether they are willing to entertain an offer of this magnitude remains to be seen.

Jeff Bezos is no stranger to high-stakes investments and bold ventures. As the founder and former CEO of Amazon, he revolutionized e-commerce and technology, amassing a fortune estimated at over $150 billion. Beyond Amazon, Bezos has made headlines with his ventures into space through Blue Origin, and his acquisition of The Washington Post, which he has transformed into a leading voice in journalism.

Opinion | Could the Celtics' championship signal a new dynasty?

Bezos’ interest in sports is not entirely new. He has been linked to various sports-related investments and ventures, but owning an NBA team would represent a significant new direction. Bezos’ potential involvement with the Celtics could bring a fresh perspective and innovative approaches to the franchise, leveraging his expertise in technology, data analytics, and global marketing.

The Boston Celtics have a storied history, marked by legendary players like Bill Russell, Larry Bird, and Paul Pierce. The team’s success on the court and its iconic status in the NBA make it a prized asset for any potential owner. In recent years, the Celtics have been competitive, with promising young talent and a strong fan base.

However, the team has faced challenges in recent seasons, including injuries and tough playoff exits. A new owner with deep pockets and a visionary approach could potentially provide the resources and strategic guidance needed to restore the Celtics to their former glory. Bezos’ financial power and strategic acumen could play a pivotal role in this process, potentially transforming the team into a dominant force once again.

If Bezos’ bid for the Celtics goes through, it could have significant implications for the NBA and sports ownership in general. The record-setting bid could set a new precedent for franchise valuations, influencing other team owners and potential buyers. It could also lead to increased scrutiny and media attention on sports ownership dynamics and the role of wealthy individuals in shaping the future of professional sports.

Moreover, Bezos’ involvement could lead to innovative changes in how the team is managed and marketed. His background in technology and data could introduce advanced analytics and fan engagement strategies, potentially revolutionizing the way the Celtics operate both on and off the court.

The prospect of Jeff Bezos acquiring the Celtics has elicited mixed reactions from fans and the Boston community. Some supporters are excited about the possibility of a high-profile owner with deep pockets and a track record of success. They hope that Bezos’ involvement could lead to improved team performance and increased investment in the franchise’s infrastructure.

Others, however, are wary of the implications of such a significant ownership change. Concerns about the potential for commercialization and the impact on the team’s historic identity have been raised. The Celtics have long been a cherished part of Boston’s sports culture, and any major shift in ownership could affect the team’s connection with its loyal fan base.

As of now, the specifics of Jeff Bezos’ bid and the response from the Celtics’ current ownership are still unclear. It remains to be seen how negotiations will unfold and whether Bezos’ bid will ultimately lead to a successful acquisition. In the meantime, fans and analysts will be closely watching for updates and developments.

Bill Simmons’ revelation has undoubtedly added a new layer of intrigue to the ongoing narrative of NBA ownership and the future of the Boston Celtics. Whether Bezos will become the next owner of the Celtics or if the bid will fizzle out, one thing is certain: the sports world will be watching closely as this potential game-changing development unfolds.

Jeff Bezos’ reported intention to place a massive bid for the Boston Celtics represents a significant moment in the intersection of sports and business. With his immense wealth, visionary approach, and history of transformative ventures, Bezos could potentially bring a new era of success and innovation to one of the NBA’s most storied franchises. As the situation develops, all eyes will be on the Celtics and their current and prospective owners, eager to see how this high-stakes drama unfolds.

“Stranger Things” actor Matthew Modine recalls first getting his license to marry couples, and previews his upcoming duties in officiating his costar Millie Bobby Brown’s wedding.

Millie Bobby Brown is officially a wife.

Brown, 20, and Jake Bongiovi, 22, tied the knot after announcing their engagement in April 2023.

Jon Bon Jovi confirmed the wedding to the BBC, following much speculation that the pair had wed.

“They are great, they are absolutely fantastic,” Bon Jovi told BBC’s “The One Show” on Tuesday, May 28.

“It was a very small family wedding and the bride looked gorgeous, and Jake is happy as can be. It’s true,” Bon Jovi said.

Shortly following the wedding between Brown and Bongiovi, they jetted off to Universal Orlando, where Brown sported “wifey” attire.

In a joint Instagram post, Bongiovi and Brown shared a series of pictures from their trip, playing games, walking through the crowded park hand in hand and posing in front of a dinosaur from “Jurassic Park.”

Brown’s Universal outfit included a pair of jean shorts with “wifey” written across the back and a white baseball cap with pink lettering reading “wife of the party.”

Rumors of a romance between Brown and Bongiovi began in June 2021, when they began posting photos together on Instagram.

They made their red carpet debut as a couple in March 2022 at the BAFTA Film Awards.

On April 11, 2023, the “Stranger Things” star posted a black and white photo on Instagram with a shiny diamond ring on her left hand, confirming their engagement.

“I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ‘em all,” she captioned the post, quoting Taylor Swift’s song “Lover.”

In March 2024, Brown shared the story of Bongiovi’s romantic proposal.

“Jake and I bonded over diving,” Brown said to Jimmy Fallon on an episode of his talk show. “We love diving. We got our diving licenses together.”

“One day, we were on vacation, and he was like ‘Mill, you got to be up at 8:00 a.m., we’re going on a dive’,” the actress continued. “I was like ‘8:00 a.m.? Dive?,’” Brown recalled.

“We go under, and we’re like many meters down. He gives me a shell and I turn it over, and it’s a ring,” Brown said.

Brown then shared the comedic communication, or lack of, between the two after she realized what was happening, as they were still underwater.

Once they got back above water, he put the ring on her finger, and she showed him her sparking diamond.

“As I go to show him, the ring falls off my finger, plummets, like so fast, it was like a cinematic movie,” Brown said.

Luckily, Bongiovi was able to find the ring in the water and bring it back to his fiancé.

The Fever defeated the Storm 92-75.

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark had a productive afternoon Sunday against the Seattle Storm, scoring 23 points to go with five rebounds and nine assists in a 92–75 win.

However, Clark incurred a technical foul in the third quarter when she punched the base of a basket in frustration. She disputed the technical—her fifth such foul of the season—with the game’s officials, and detailed her conversation with them after the game.

“I got a technical for basically being mad at myself,” Clark explained to reporters. “I missed a three and went and hit the (basket), and (the referee) told me it was ‘disrespectful to the game of basketball.’”

The way Clark is officiated has been a longstanding source of discussion among fans, dating back to her days at Iowa.

“It had nothing to do with my team. It had nothing to do with reffing. It had nothing to do with the other team,” Clark said. “It was just because I was a competitor… I think he fired me up to play a lot harder, though.”
