The rom-com queen is bowing down to fellow pop culture royalty!

After attending one of Taylor Swift’s London Eras Tour shows, Meg Ryan commended the music superstar, 34, for an excellent performance — and dubbed her “the Queen!”

The day after the Friday, Aug. 16 concert at Wembley Stadium, the When Harry Met Sally star, 62, was still reeling from Swift’s career-spanning set, and she let her Instagram followers know it.

“Last night at Wembley… WOW,” Ryan wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of two hands stacked with friendship bracelets, a staple Eras Tour accessory inspired by a lyric in Swift’s song “You’re on Your Own, Kid.”

“Thank you, @taylorswift,” the actress continued in the caption. “You’re hands down the Queen!”

The rom-com vet tipping her hat to Swift — plus, joining a bevy of stars who have already attended and lauded the Eras Tour — comes months after the pair made headlines together due to an overlap in their respective films’ release dates.

Last fall, Bleecker Street film company pushed back the release date of What Happens Later — which marked Ryan’s highly anticipated return to the rom-com genre — by three weeks to avoid competing with the singer’s concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.

Originally slated to hit theaters on Oct. 13 — the same day that The Eras Tour premiered exclusively in AMC theaters — What Happens Later opened on Nov. 3 instead.

Ryan just missed a cameo from Ed Sheeran — the “Perfect” singer made a surprise appearance at Swift’s Aug. 15 show — but she did catch Swift’s sweet shout-out to her parents.

After thanking the crowd for a heartfelt ovation at the Aug. 16 London show, the “Karma” singer included a funny dig at her parents, joking that they most likely documented the interaction.

“I guarantee my parents were just recording that on their phones,” she told the audience, as seen in fan-captured footage shared on X (formerly Twitter).

“So anytime I’m having a sad or a bad day, not only will I play the video in my mind, but I’m gonna revisit that moment a lot,” she continued. “Thank you so much for doing that.”

A video from the live streamer of the sweet moment was soon posted to Twitter and shared by Swifties.

One reposted the clip and penned in the caption: ‘Andrea just gave her TTPD bracelet to a fan in exchange for the friendship bracelet he gave her.’

Taylor did not disappoint as she pulled out all the stops for her eighth show at London Wembley and the final show on the European leg of the Eras tour.

The Anti Hero singer treated her fans to iconic duets and never played before surprise tracks during her performance on Tuesday night.

As the show-stopping concert drew to a close the star gushed: ‘London I have just had the best most unforgettable night with you.

‘Thanks for wanting to be with us for the last night of the European leg of the Eras tour.’

And as 92,000 fans gathered at the stadium, fans went wild as the star was joined on stage by Florence Welch for a duet of their hit track Florida!!! from Taylor’s most recent album The Tortured Poets Department.

But one fan got a big surprise when in return for a beaded friendship bracelet they got a special gold bracelet back from Andrea

Fans screamed the stadium down as the first few bars of the song, before Florence then emerged to mark the first time the singer has played the track on the tour.

While the singer famously saves the songs not on the usual setlist for the ‘Surprise’ section of the show, she seemed to make an exception on this special occasion.

And even after the concert, the star continued to treat her fans as she dropped the video for her hit track I Can Do It With A Broken Heart off her latest record.

Released at 11pm UK time, just half an hour after the end of the Wembley show, the video shows a behind the scenes look at the Eras Tour as Taylor climbs inside her famous box before she is pushed to her place under the stage before her grand entrance.

Meanwhile Florence wasn’t the only guest on Tuesday evening as later in the show, during the surprise section the star brought out her best friend and producer Jack Antonoff.

As Taylor gushed over the privilege of ‘getting to work with her best friend’ the crowd went wild as Jack entered the stage.

The pair then performed a collaboration on guitar of Death By A Thousand Cuts from her album Lover and Getaway Car from Reputation.

It may have been the last Wembley gig, but it was also a night of firsts as Taylor fittingly performed So Long London as her final surprise song from her latest album The Tortured Poets Department.

And as she closed the show she gushed: ‘Thank you for the memories we will keep for the rest of our lives’.

Yet despite the night of excited surprises, it seems fans got it wrong after they predicted the singer was due to announce the re-recording of her album Reputation – referred to as Rep TV (Taylor’s Version).

Swifties were convinced that the superstar was going to make the huge announcement after spotting major clues over her August London shows.

However instead of Rep TV they got a new music video instead, despite the star giving no clues about its release during the show.

The Grammy award-winning singer also made history on Tuesday night as she revealed that she’s become the first solo artist to play Wembley eight times on a single tour.

Making the impressive announcement as she opened up the show, she began with her Lover era as usual she greeted the enthusiastic crowds she told them how it was an ‘honour’ to welcome them to the tour.

She then said it was with fans’ support that she was able to make the milestone, telling the screaming crowds: ‘You have made me the first solo artist to play Wembley eight times on a single tour!’

The audience then loudly applauded back to her as she got on with her next song – Lover.

The star is also reportedly recording a documentary that will tell the story of her record-breaking Eras Tour.

The singer, 34, said she was left in “complete shock” after three little girls were killed at a Taylor-themed lesson in Southport, Merseyside, last month, and is since said to have reached out to families involved in the carnage.

One mother Sami Foster has posted a now-viral TikTok video featuring a carousel of photos from a backstage visit to one of Taylor’s sold-out Eras Tour shows at Wembley stadium, London, along with her girls Hope and Autumn.

 

Taylor’s mother Andrea Swift is also seen posing in the gallery with Sami’s family. One of the girls appears to be sporting a bandage on her forearm in one of the snaps — on which is written a lyric from Taylor’s Cardigan song that goes, “You drew stars around my scars.” Sami also used the singer’s Enchanted song as background music for the post, which she captioned: “The biggest thank you to Taylor Swift and her mum for making the most magical night possible for us all.

Thank you for bringing Hope and Autumn pure happiness last night and always (pink heart emoji).” It’s not known how many families Taylor has met with during her London run, but reports say Sami’s is not the only one to have been treated to a meet-and-greet with her.

Taylor has not yet publicly addressed the meetings. It was reported before the start of her five-night run at Wembley that she had privately reached out to the families of the three girls killed in the July 29 attack — Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and six-year-old Bebe King.

Eight other children and two adults were also injured in the assault, with six listed in critical condition at the time. Merseyside police announced on Aug 6 the injured children had been released from the hospital. About 25 children were believed to be in the class at the time of the attack and a 17-year-old boy was arrested and charged with three counts of murder, 10 counts of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article.

Taylor said on her Instagram Stories on July 30 about the attack: “The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously and I’m just in complete shock… the loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families, the first responders. “These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”

Concert attendee Andrea Walker was wearing a Kansas City Chiefs Hat during the concert at Wembley Stadium on Monday, Aug. 19, when Swift, 34, happened to notice the Chiefs merch in honor of her football superstar boyfriend.

Walker, who was sporting the Swift-inspired Super Bowl LVIII edition Chiefs hat embroidered with hearts and a friendship bracelet design, shared a TikTok video of the priceless moment when Swift, 34, noticed the hat while in the middle of performing “You Belong With Me,” during the Fearless era.

After spotting Walker’s hat, Swift pointed to her head and gave an approving thumbs up.

Taylor Swift is speaking out for the first time after a terror plot prompted the cancellation of three of her Eras Tour dates — and explaining why she initially chose to stay silent.

In a lengthy Instagram post shared following the conclusion of her European leg of the tour, Swift said that playing her final few dates in London was a “rollercoaster of emotions” after three shows in Vienna were canceled amid a foiled terror plot.

“Having our Vienna shows canceled was devastating. The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows,” she wrote in a post on Wednesday, Aug. 21. “But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives.”

The “Fortnight” singer, 34, said she was “heartened by the love and unity” she saw among fans in the aftermath, as many fans in Vienna flooded the streets to sing Swift’s songs together and exchange friendship bracelets, which has become a tradition at her shows.

Swift wrote that after Vienna, she and her team worked closely with British authorities to ensure that her five nights at London’s Wembley Stadium — which wrapped on Tuesday, Aug. 20 — would go off without a hitch.

Swift’s post came two weeks after the shows were canceled, and the Grammy winner had caught flak from some for not addressing the cancellations directly. But in her post, she explained why she’d stayed silent.

“Let me be very clear: I am not going to speak about something publicly if I think doing so might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows,” she wrote. “In cases like this one, ‘silence’ is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it’s right to. My priority was finishing our European tour safely, and it is with great relief that I can say we did that.”

We’ll see you all again when we resume The Eras Tour in October, but for now we get to take a much needed rest. Thank you for the adventure of a lifetime. May it continue…”

On Aug. 7, authorities announced that two Austrian men — a 19-year-old and a 17-year-old — had been arrested in connection with a planned attack on Swift’s shows, which were scheduled to take place at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna from Aug. 8 to 10. Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for Donald Trump, shared a video on his own X account of the former president walking off a plane on Tuesday, Aug. 20, set to the track “Freedom” off Beyoncé’s 2016 album Lemonade. “Touchdown in Michigan!! @realDonaldTrump,” the caption read.

The use of the song, which also features Kendrick Lamar, instantly caught attention online, as Democratic nominee Kamala Harris has used it at several campaign events.

Taylor Swift may be on the road, but she still has a special piece of jewelry keeping boyfriend Travis Kelce close.

While the Grammy winner, 34, has been performing around the globe on the Eras Tour, she still continues to wear the custom “TNT” diamond tennis bracelet gifted to her by the football star and made by Wove Made Inc. Jewelers.

She revealed so in the new music video for “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” The visuals for the upbeat track features various clips of the pop icon rehearsing the song and, you guessed it, wearing the accessory. The hidden Easter egg was first reported by Page Six.

The “Fortnight” singer first debuted the 14K yellow gold bracelet, which is made of 4.62 carats worth of lab-grown diamonds, including the ones encrusted on the TNT charms (which stands for their initials), on Jan. 28 at the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens.

She wore the bespoke piece again at the 2024 Super Bowl among other Chiefs-coded merch, including a pair of black booties with a crystal red-and-gold “87” on the outside and a custom #87 Judith Leiber football-shaped crystal bag.

Swift is a big fan of personalized jewelry and, in addition to her wrist candy from Kelce, she’s worn other initial-inspired designs on tour.

Just last week, she hit the stage in an earring made by FoundRae, which is actually one of her favorite jewelry brands. During her Aug. 15 concert at Wembley Stadium, where she did a five-run show, fans clocked her 18K gold hoop earring adorned with a diamond-encrusted “T.”

On the other ear was another “T” earring with a small letter charm. Yes they stand for Taylor, but they also stand for Travis, and her wearing the jewelry is a small but sweet nod to their love story.

John Millman has become the latest tennis star to weigh in after Jannik Sinner avoided a drugs suspension when he was ruled to have “bore no fault or negligence” after testing positive for a banned substance twice in March.

The world No.1 successfully argued that the positive samples were the result of contamination via his physio. The same explanation allowed him to appeal his provisional suspensions earlier in the year, with three experts agreeing that it was plausible.

The news was kept under wraps until after an independent tribunal was held last week. The private, swift resolution is one that retired pro Millman wants to see implemented across the board for similar cases. And he name-dropped Novak Djokovic as he shared his wish.

Djokovic co-created the Professional Tennis Players Association with Vasek Pospisil in 2020. The group is made for players, by players and is “committed to safeguarding and supporting men’s and women’s professional tennis players worldwide.” And Millman believes the Serb’s group can lead the way in getting all doping disputes resolved as efficiently.

The former world No. 33 tweeted: “I am a huge Novak fan, records don’t lie and therefore he’s the best male to play the game. Another legacy that he and the team at the PTPA is trying to create is a body that better represents players.

“Now I’m sure that includes when a player tests positive, that their case is heard in a timely manner, I was appalled how long it took for Simona [Halep] to have hers heard, I was appalled to learn how long it took Tara Moore to have hers investigated.”

While some have questioned why Sinner was allowed to keep competing between his positive tests and the independent tribunal hearing, Millman believes it was the correct way to handle his case. But he wants to see other players afforded the same opportunity.

“There shouldn’t be different rules, on that I completely agree. A case should be investigated efficiently and as quickly as possible. Until the case has been concluded should there be any announcement. Moving forward all cases should be dealt with like Jannik’s. I’m sure this is the goal of PTPA and why there needs to be representation,” he added.

“But the overall goal and outrage should be at the officials not at the player. And if player representation is the aim then this outcome is ideal. A case, a quick investigation, a judgment. Without having reputations dragged through the mud until findings are absolute.”

It seems the PTPA is pushing for more outcomes like Sinner’s. The organisation’s executive director Ahmad Nassar tweeted: “Players winning anti-doping violation appeals is generally good. But we have to have clear, consistent processes for ALL players. Whether ranked #1, #100, or #1000; whether man or woman. And no matter what region of the world they may call home.

“The absence of a clear and consistent system creates obvious problems for players who are not the perceived ranking, gender and/or nationality of choice. The absence also undermines the tennis establishment’s credibility with fans and media. Clarity & consistency are hallmarks of what @ptpaplayers is pushing the tennis establishment to adopt across the board. For the benefit of all.”

Immediately breaking down in tears, the girl appeared to sob as she sat down on the floor to reserve her spot ahead of Taylor’s performance.

The plot came shortly after three young girls were murdered at a Taylor Swift themed dance class in Southport, Merseyside.

Her Wembley show on August 15 marked Taylor’s first performance since both incidents, which have no doubt been hard for her to navigate.

A source told the The Sun how she would be putting on the ‘best show of her life’ for the five nights in London.

An insider told the publication: ‘Everything Taylor does is for her fans and she will be putting on the best show of her life when she returns to Wembley.

‘Hate never wins and Taylor absolutely stands for that. Her shows are about love, unity and acceptance, and this is a message she will always want to convey.’

Yet she took it all in her stride as she declared to the crowd – which included her ex Taylor Lautner – ‘I think when it rains for more than like SIX MINUTES we can officially declare it a rain show!’
