Paul George returns to the beach with his wife after missing NBA playoffs… months after controversial snaps

The NBA playoffs are gathering pace but for the $212million Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George, the postseason has been a time to switch off from the game.

George is back at the beach with his stunning wife Daniela Rajic, who tagged her husband in mulitple loved-up pictures on Instagram over the weekend.

And in one selfie of herself on a sunbed, Daniela captioned a picture: ‘Happy girl’.

But if things had been different, she would be getting ready to cheer her husband on in the NBA playoffs at present as the season hits the final straight.

The 76ers were tipped to dethrone the reigning champions Boston Celtics this year, thanks in part to their trade for George from the Los Angeles Clippers.

But George, who turns 35 on Friday, endured a terrible debut season with his team as the Sixers fell to 13th in the Eastern Conference with a 24-58 record. He also sparked controversy with some suggestive pictures with his wife from a Caribbean beach break in February, while his team were struggling to save their season.

George hismelf averaged 16.2 points in 41 games for his team, a far cry from the form that led many to believe he was bringing an extra dimension to Philadelphia.

His difficult first season in Philly ended prematurely, as well. In mid-March, it emegered he needed injections in his left adductor muscle and left knee.

As a result, it brought the season down early on his team’s losing campaign.

The news about George, even while he was struggling for form, was a particular blow for the 76ers given how just days earlier, Joel Embiid’s knee injury also ended his year.

‘It was just, to be honest, one of the toughest seasons for me,’ George said to Philly Voice about his year.

‘Just with a lot of adversity on the court, off the court and then again, the injury stuff was some stuff that I didn’t necessarily know I had going on until deep-diving and finding out there was other stuff that we, that I didn’t know was going on.

‘Not being able to do things that I normally could do and then finding out the reasons why, those things are being addressed. So that’s the positive.

‘I know what level I can play at when I am healthy and obviously it’s a struggle when I’m not healthy.

George, 34, said that his season in Philadelphia was one of the hardest of his career

‘So for me, it’s just trying to get my body in as best shape as possible, get as healthy as possible and continue to do the work that I’ve been doing.’

In the All-Star break back in February, George sparked controversy by sharing steamy pictures from the Caribbean with his wife Daniela.

His wife shared a provocative picture of herself and George posing together on the beach during their weekend vacation.

George has been with his wife for a decade. They have three kids together and got married in June 2022.

Celtics in Chaos: Jaylen Brown & Coach Mazzulla Drop Bombshell Message for Al Horford as Team’s Strategy Shocks Fans!

    feature-image

Al Horford ages like fine wine. It takes a special mindset to get the lauds in a championship team despite not being able to put up numbers game after game. At 38 years of age, Big Al entered the court as a seasoned veteran whose performance belied his years. Let’s not talk about the everyday box numbers, ’cause they won’t sell the full story. With a monstrous 5 blocks against Orlando, he joined Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the only two players in NBA history to register five blocks in a playoff game at 38 or older. Eternal greatness. And his team loved every bit of his 35 minutes.

“Tremendous, tremendous effort from Al, you know, down the stretch in that second half. Big time rebounds, some big time plays. That block was huge. You know, he just did what it took to win. So I wouldn’t expect nothing less. That’s just Al Horford in the nutshell,” said Jaylen Brown. Horford only knows how to come up clutch- anything less is failure.

When Jrue Holiday was confirmed to be out, it was Big Al’s time to shine. The 17-year veteran is still playing big time for the reigning champs. THE leader in the locker room, but also the hardest worker on the court. His tireless work helped the Celtics out of a sticky situation where they caught themselves tied at 91 points with 4 minutes to go in the last quarter. Then came the linkup with Jayson Tatum, going on a run that eventually gave them a 9-point dub. And coach Joe Mazzulla was quick to give him the overdue credit.

“Tonight, it was the blocked shot that he had with six on the shot clock right in front of our bench. Multiple blocked shots, being in the paint helping and getting out to shooters,” Joe Mazzulla told Hardwood Houdini post-game. “There should be a separate stat sheet for guys like him and the stuff that he does, but, brought got an offensive rebound, for us there in the fourth quarter, just an unbelievable competitor, made all the plays necessary to help us win.”

But the Greens came up against an opponent they didn’t fully expect. They underestimated the Magic in Game 3, losing out 95-93. So coming into this game, all eyes were on Mazzulla’s ways of working their way into a win. We got a taste of it in the 3rd game, despite the result. What were these secret tactics?

The Celtics didn’t seem to prefer shooting this time around. This was the second straight game they took fewer three-pointers than in any game during the regular season. So with just 31 3PA, the media did question- why was this the case? Was there a specific methodology being followed, or were they lacking overall sharpness, considering they only made 9 of those 31? According to Joe Mazzulla, the type of shots doesn’t matter as long as the transition rate is good.

“I mean, at the end of the day, it’s about getting the best shot possible… Our transition rate was higher because we followed less and we rebounded better. So we able to get out in transition and get to our spots faster, get to our spacing faster and execute. So it doesn’t really matter what type of shots we take as long as they’re the right shots versus the matchup and the coverages and we fight for those,” said the Boston gaffer.

Tatum let the front line brilliantly, with a 37/14/3 double-double in 42 minutes. Having better transitions would put all the pressure on their star forward to bring it home. But despite his injury situation before the game, he showed his ability to eat pressure for breakfast, and still have an appetite after. Even Jaylen Brown came up huge with his own 21/11 double-double. They’re usually on point with their 3Pt shooting. But Game 4 just showed their adaptability in the face of adversity.

    article-image

The Celts were given a tough challenge. They realised their shooting wasn’t gonna get them a series win against Orlando. So what did they do? Pay more attention to transitions, and rely on key attackers like Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum. Al Horford‘s masterclass was just an added benefit- and a relief on any defensive worries Mazzulla would’ve had.

In a move that has sent shockwaves through the sports world and beyond, Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown has inked a staggering $50 million sneaker deal—only to turn around and pledge every single dollar to support youth education and social justice initiatives. The announcement, made early Monday morning, has left fans, fellow athletes, and industry insiders both stunned and inspired, as Brown cements his status as not just an NBA superstar, but a powerful force for change.

    A Deal Unlike Any Other

Sneaker deals are nothing new in the world of professional basketball. From Michael Jordan’s iconic partnership with Nike to LeBron James’ lifetime contract, the biggest ballers have long enjoyed lucrative endorsements. But Jaylen Brown’s latest move blows the doors off the traditional playbook.

The 28-year-old All-Star, known for his explosive athleticism and cerebral approach to the game, signed with the up-and-coming sportswear brand Elevate, landing one of the largest contracts in recent memory. But instead of pocketing the windfall or investing in luxury cars and mansions, Brown stood before a crowd of reporters and community leaders at Boston’s Roxbury YMCA and made an announcement that no one saw coming.

Jaylen Brown Passed on $50 Million to Start His Own Brand

“I’m grateful for this opportunity,” Brown said, his voice steady but emotional. “But I believe true success is measured not by what you have, but by what you give. I’m donating every cent of this deal to programs that empower our youth and advance social justice—because that’s the legacy I want to leave.”

    A Ripple Effect Across Sports

The reaction was immediate. Social media erupted with praise, with hashtags like #JaylenGivesBack and #MoreThanAnAthlete trending nationwide. NBA legends from Magic Johnson to Dwyane Wade chimed in, applauding Brown’s selflessness and vision.

“Jaylen Brown is setting a new standard for what it means to be a leader—on and off the court,” tweeted former President Barack Obama, who has previously met with Brown to discuss community activism.

Brown’s agent, Marcus King, revealed that Elevate had been courting Jaylen for months, but that the Celtics star made his intentions clear from the very first conversation. “He told them, ‘If you want me, it’s not just about shoes. It’s about making a difference.’ They loved the idea and even agreed to match his donation with their own corporate contribution.”

    Where the Money Is Going

So, where will the $50 million go? Brown has already outlined a comprehensive plan:

    – Youth Education: A significant portion will fund scholarships, STEM programs, and after-school initiatives in underserved communities across Boston, Atlanta (Brown’s hometown), and beyond. Brown is partnering with local nonprofits and school districts to ensure the money directly benefits those who need it most.

    – Social Justice: Brown, a vocal advocate for racial equality and criminal justice reform, will direct funds to organizations fighting systemic injustice. This includes supporting legal aid groups, voter registration drives, and mentorship programs for at-risk youth.

    – Mental Health: Recognizing the unique pressures faced by young people today—especially in communities of color—Brown is earmarking funds for mental health services, counseling, and wellness education.

    – Athletic Development: True to his roots, Brown will also invest in community basketball courts, training camps, and leadership seminars, aiming to create safe spaces where kids can play, learn, and grow.

    A Personal Journey

Jaylen Brown has launched his debut performance brand, 741, which will feature his own signature sneaker 🔥 Brown reportedly turned down over $50M in endorsement deals from major sneaker companies for full

For Brown, this isn’t just a publicity stunt. Those close to him say his commitment to social change runs deep. Raised by a single mother in Marietta, Georgia, Brown excelled academically and athletically, earning a scholarship to the University of California, Berkeley, where he majored in African American Studies.

Throughout his NBA career, Brown has been outspoken on issues ranging from police brutality to educational inequality. He famously drove 15 hours from Boston to Atlanta to lead a peaceful protest after the murder of George Floyd. In 2023, he launched the “7uice Foundation,” focused on youth empowerment—a passion project that now gets a massive boost from his latest donation.

“Jaylen’s always been about more than basketball,” says Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla. “He’s got the heart of a champion—on the court and in the community.”

    Industry Impact: Will Others Follow?

Brown’s bold move is already sparking conversations across the sports and business worlds. Will other athletes follow suit? Some analysts predict a new era of “impact endorsements,” where stars leverage their fame for social good.

“Jaylen is rewriting the rules,” says sports marketing expert Lisa Grant. “Brands are realizing that today’s consumers—especially Gen Z—care about purpose as much as performance. This could be the start of a major shift.”

Elevate, for its part, is betting big on Brown’s vision. “We’re not just selling sneakers—we’re building a movement,” said CEO Marcus Lee. “Jaylen embodies everything we stand for.”

A Message to the Next Generation

As the news reverberated around the world, Brown took to Instagram to share a message with his young fans: “Never let anyone tell you your dreams are too big—or your voice too small. You can make a difference. Let’s change the world together.”

For the thousands of kids who will benefit from his generosity, and for a nation hungry for heroes who lead with both talent and heart, Jaylen Brown’s $50 million sneaker deal is more than a headline. It’s a challenge, a promise, and a beacon of hope.

One thing is clear: Jaylen Brown is about more than basketball—and now, thanks to his unprecedented gift, the world will never be the same.

    In this story:

Jaylen Brown, the former one-and-done Cal prodigy, will receive his NBA championship ring on Tuesday night when the Boston Celtics open their season against the New York Knicks.

For Brown, who was MVP of the 2024 NBA Finals, this is the latest in a series of big events in his basketball life.

But as great as he is on the hardwood, three-time All-Star has never been about only basketball. We saw that even at Cal, when as a freshman he successfully petitioned to gain access to a graduate-level course that had his interest.

Brown, who will turn 28 years old on Thursday, signed a $304 million contract a year ago, at which point he indicated his determination to assist in helping others. Specifically, he wants to shrink the racial wealth gap in America, no small goal.

Brown, along with teammate Jrue Holiday and his wife Lauren, are taking a huge first step toward that ambition right now. As reported by Jesse Washington of Andscape, Brown has launched Boston Xchange, whose goal is to help generate $5 billion dollars of generational wealth for marginalized communities.

The endeavor’s initial hub was opened in Oakland.

This is a project that has Brown’s attention and his imagination.

“To be honest, this feels better to me,” Brown told Washington, who had asked him to compare helping others with playing ball.“I feel responsible that my platform was given to me to help affect other people. The only time I feel happy is really when I’m trying to help other people.

“Hooping is like drinking water. It’s like breathing at this point. You don’t really feel anything anymore, unless it’s like those big games or those high-profile moments. But for the most part, I think my platform was given just so I could help as many people as possible.”

Basketball remains the means by which Brown can facilitate his dreams. On Monday, he paid tribute to the Celtics’ greatest player, Bill Russell, as the city renamed the North Washington Street Bridge in his honor.

Brown was among the guest speakers at the ceremony, and his bond to Russell, the late superstar and activist who grew up in Oakland, is clear.

“We’re here to talk about the legacy of the great Bill Russell,” he said, according to the Boston Herald. “Not only just what he’s done for basketball, how many championships he won, but how many championships he won off the basketball floor, as well. Things he stood for in the community, things with education, things he stood for in a time which was much harder than now to stand for.

Boston Celtics guard Jaylen Brown attempts to build a legacy

“Bill Russell transcends sports,” Brown said. “I can speak on and on about his resume, but his character, his demeanor and how he handled himself through adversity, I think that speaks volumes, especially in a time like today. I think it’s very fitting that the bridge is getting named after him, because what a bridge does is bring people together. And the leadership of sports and the role that sports play in our society is bringing people together.”

Those are very much the things Brown will continue to pursue.

Through his Xchange, Brown has assembled local entrepreneurs – the Boston Creator Incubator + Accelerator Cohort — who will receive financial assistance to help grow their businesses.

Here’s how Washington explained what Brown and Holiday and his wife are  doing:

“Brown is focusing on the `creative economy’ – people who make things. The first 10 entrepreneurs range from the Dorchester Art Project to Melanin Haircare to the Future Masters Chess Academy.  Each business will receive up to $100,000 over the next three years, plus mentorship, training, and workspaces. Funds are being donated by Brown; the JLH Social Impact Fund, founded by Holiday and his wife, Lauren; and other philanthropic partners.”

Brown envisions “building a family,” providing resources to underserved communities but “building those breadcrumbs to the next generation.”

He knows he cannot do it alone.

“Change doesn’t come from one initiative or one person or one entity. It comes from a group of people who are dedicated to doing these things,” he said. “So we look forward to partnering in the future with more creators, more investors, more initiatives in different cities, different states.

“It’s not about starting something new, it’s about highlighting what people have already been doing and using the power of influence – the power of sports.”

While Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley fell in love at a young age, they have worked through their marital struggles.

The couple grew up in the same hometown and met while attending Sayreville War Memorial High School. During a joint appearance on the Howard Stern Show in 2023, Hurley teased that when they were teens she knew Bon Jovi (real name John Bongiovi Jr.) would be a rockstar one day — and she was proven right.

While they dated in the 80s, the musician formed his band, Bon Jovi. Jon and Hurley briefly split in 1985 as the rock band continued to grow more popular. The twosome rekindled their romance and tied the knot in Vegas while Bon Jovi was on tour.

“We had the No. 1 album, the No. 1 single, and we were playing three nights at the Forum in L.A.,” Jon told Men’s Health in 2010. “I turned to Dorothea and said, ‘I got an idea. Why don’t we go right now?’ She said, ‘You’re out of your mind.’ I said, ‘Come on. What’s better than this, right now, this moment?’ And so we ran off to Las Vegas. Didn’t tell a soul.”

Jon and Hurley have been together since. However, the singer has been candid about his struggles to balance his marriage with the rockstar lifestyle.

“These are all the wonderful clichés of rock stardom,” Jon said in an April 2024 interview with the Independent. “It’s about never lying about having been a saint, but not being a fool enough to f–k up the home life, either.”

Keep scrolling to see what Jon has said about his marriage over the years:

    Knowing What They Have

Jon shared that Hurley was well aware of what she was signing up for as a rockstar’s wife.

“I’ve been in one of the biggest rock bands in the world for 25 years,” he said in a 2007 interview with Best Life magazine. “It’s not like Dorothea came in halfway through the movie and didn’t know who she got.”

The Grammy winner confessed that his wife was enough for him and the thought of “trading in or trading up” his partner never crossed his mind.

“I don’t have a mistress on the side or another family across town,” he said at the time. “You’re never going to read that story about me. I have no regard for that whole lifestyle.”

    Being There for Each Other

While going through a difficult time in his life, he was grateful to have Hurley by his side.

“It felt like the weight of the world was on my shoulders,” he recalled to The Mirror in 2016. “Without her, I am not sure how I would have coped. A lot of these things added up and a snowflake became an avalanche. I am proud to say I have been with one band my whole life, one record label my whole life and one wife my whole life.”

    Working Through Their Problems

“I got away with murder. I’m a rock and roll star, I’m not a saint,” Jon recalled in an April 2024 interview with ABC News. “You know, I’m not saying that there weren’t 100 girls in my life – I’m Jon Bon Jovi. It was pretty good.”

Despite his rockstar status, the singer noted that he would never do any “stupid thing” that would “jeopardize” his relationship with Hurley.

“There is no doubt in my mind that this world revolves because of her,” he continued, noting how his wife cared for their four children: Stephanie, Jesse, Jake and Romeo, while he was on the road. “Because of what she did to keep the kids right, what she does to keep me right, what we do together to keep it right. No doubt about it.”

Jon explained that Hurley isn’t afraid to call him out when he needs it while also supporting him during his low points.

“She’s also there when I fall. And I’m there for her when she falls,” he said. “No matter where I went in my career, the ups or the downs, we went there together.”

    Staying Happy

In an April 2024 interview with Fox Digital, Jon teased that he “somehow” became the “poster boy for a long-married rock star.”

“I think it’s just the mutual admiration society. I think it’s as simple as that,” he said at the time. “You wake up in the morning excited to be with each other. And you admire each other. And you respect each other. It’s a pleasure to do. It’s a pleasure to be.”

April 28 – Jayson Tatum collected game highs of 37 points and 14 rebounds to lead the visiting Boston Celtics to a 107-98 victory over the Orlando Magic on Sunday in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series.

The second-seeded Celtics made 30 of their 32 free-throw attempts in the victory, which gave Boston a 3-1 edge in the best-of-seven series.

Orlando tied the game at 91 on a Wendell Carter Jr. putback with 4:18 to play, but Boston seized control by scoring 10 of the next 11 points.

Four of Boston’s five starters scored at least 18 points. Jaylen Brown had 21 points and 11 rebounds, Kristaps Porzingis tossed in 19 points and Derrick White finished with 18.

Paolo Banchero led seventh-seeded Orlando by scoring 31 points. Franz Wagner added 24 points, six rebounds and seven assists, and Carter finished with nine points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
Cory Joseph (12) and Anthony Black (10) were the other Magic players who scored in double figures.

Boston’s Jrue Holiday missed his second straight game in the series with a hamstring strain. Boston’s reserves were limited to six points, all from Sam Hauser.

The Celtics were 9 of 31 on 3-point attempts (29 percent). Orlando was 8 of 30 from behind the 3-point arc (26.7 percent).

Boston led 32-29 after one quarter and stretched its lead to nine, 42-33, with 7:46 left in the second quarter. Orlando went in front 48-46 on a Banchero layup with 3:17 remaining in the first half. The Celtics finished the quarter on a 7-0 run and had a 53-48 halftime lead.

Orlando edged Boston 27-26 in the third quarter, which left Boston with a 79-75 advantage entering the final 12 minutes. Brown scored 11 of his 21 points in the third.

The Celtics can advance if they win Game 5 on Tuesday night in Boston.

Girl Poses For The Camera While Keeping Her Opponent Locked In A Leg Cradle Mid-Match… She Really Said ‘This Light Work’!

In a moment that has taken the internet by storm, a high school wrestler from Ohio delivered not just a win, but a viral sensation that’s redefining what it means to dominate on the mat—and to do it with style. When 16-year-old Sarah Martinez paused mid-match, her opponent locked helplessly in a tight leg cradle, and flashed a peace sign at the cameras, nobody could have predicted the cultural wave that would follow. But as the photo ricocheted across social media—racking up millions of views, likes, and comments—one thing became clear: this was more than just a wrestling move. It was an attitude.

The Moment That Stopped the Match—And Started a Movement

It was the final round of the regional championships in Columbus, Ohio. The gym was packed, the crowd buzzing with anticipation. Sarah Martinez, already a standout with a reputation for both skill and swagger, faced off against her strongest rival yet—Emily Chen, a powerhouse from a neighboring district.

The match was intense from the start. Both girls fought fiercely, exchanging takedowns and reversals. But halfway through the second period, Sarah saw her opening. In a blur of motion, she shot in, hooked her opponent’s leg, and rolled her into a textbook cradle. With Emily’s shoulders pressed tight to the mat, victory was all but assured.

But instead of finishing the pin, Sarah did something nobody expected. She looked up, caught the eye of a student photographer at the edge of the mat, and—while still holding her opponent securely—flashed a casual peace sign and a dazzling grin. The crowd erupted. The ref, momentarily stunned, hesitated before counting the pin. And in that split-second, a legend was born.

“This Light Work”—The Attitude That Broke the Internet

Within minutes, the photo was everywhere. “She really said ‘this light work’!” read the first viral tweet, and soon the phrase was trending nationwide. TikTokers remixed the image with rap beats and motivational quotes. Instagram was flooded with memes, edits, and fan art. Even celebrities weighed in: UFC champ Amanda Nunes reposted the photo with the caption, “That’s how you do it, queen!”

But why did this moment resonate so deeply? For many, it was the sheer audacity. In a sport known for grit and intensity, Sarah’s ability to pause, pose, and project total confidence was both shocking and inspiring. She wasn’t just beating her opponent—she was owning the moment, and making it look easy.

Who Is Sarah Martinez? The Girl Behind the Viral Moment

Sarah Martinez isn’t your average high school athlete. Raised by a single mom who wrestled in college, Sarah grew up on the mats. “She was rolling before she could walk,” laughs her coach, Denise Harper. “She’s always had that fire.”

But Sarah’s journey hasn’t been without obstacles. As one of the few girls on her team, she’s faced skepticism, sexism, and more than her share of doubters. “People used to say wrestling wasn’t for girls,” Sarah says. “I just let my skills do the talking.”

Now, with a scholarship to a Division I college nearly in hand, Sarah is focused on bigger goals: “I want to be the first woman to win state in the boys’ division. And after that? The Olympics.”

The Opponent’s Perspective: “She Earned It”

What about Emily Chen, the girl on the receiving end of the cradle heard ‘round the world? Far from being bitter, Emily has nothing but respect for her rival. “Sarah’s a beast,” she says, grinning. “She got me fair and square. And honestly? If you’re going to get pinned, might as well go viral.”

The two girls hugged after the match, and Emily even joined Sarah for a follow-up TikTok, recreating the pose together. “We’re competitors on the mat, but friends off it,” Emily says. “That’s what wrestling is all about.”

Social Media Reacts: “Confidence Goals” and a New Kind of Sports Hero

If the internet loves anything, it’s a display of confidence—and Sarah delivered in spades. “This is the energy I’m bringing to all my finals,” joked one Twitter user. “She’s my spirit animal!” wrote another.

But the moment has sparked deeper conversations, too. “Seeing a young woman take up space, show confidence, and excel in a male-dominated sport is powerful,” says Dr. Lisa Grant, a sports psychologist. “It challenges stereotypes and inspires other girls to believe in themselves.”

Even major brands have taken notice. Nike, Under Armour, and Gatorade have all reached out to Sarah’s family, hinting at sponsorship deals. “It’s surreal,” says Sarah. “I just wanted to wrestle. Now people are calling me a role model.”

The Controversy: Was It Disrespectful—Or Just Good Fun?

Not everyone is thrilled, of course. Some critics argue that Sarah’s pose was disrespectful to her opponent and the sport. “Wrestling is about humility,” wrote one commentator. “Showboating has no place on the mat.”

But Coach Harper disagrees. “Sarah didn’t taunt or belittle anyone. She just showed confidence. If anything, she’s raising the profile of women’s wrestling and bringing more eyes to the sport.”

Sarah herself is unfazed by the backlash. “I respect every opponent I face,” she says. “But I’m also going to be myself. If people don’t like it, that’s their problem.”

    What’s Next for Sarah Martinez?

With the state championships just weeks away, Sarah is back in the gym, training harder than ever. “The viral stuff is cool, but my focus is on winning,” she says. “I want to prove that I’m more than just a meme.”

But one thing is certain: win or lose, Sarah Martinez has already made her mark. She’s inspired a new generation of girls to step onto the mat—and to do it with confidence, style, and maybe even a little bit of swagger.

    The Legacy of a Pose

In the end, what makes Sarah’s moment so unforgettable isn’t just the victory, or the pose, or even the viral fame. It’s what it represents: the power of confidence, the joy of competition, and the idea that sometimes, the best way to win is to have fun along the way.

So the next time you see someone flash a peace sign in the middle of a challenge, remember Sarah Martinez—and remember that sometimes, “this light work” is the hardest work of all.

Richie Sambora Breaks Silence: “No Regrets” Leaving Bon Jovi for Daughter Ava—Rock Legend Reveals Shocking Truth Behind 2013 Exit!

While Bon Jovi, Bryan and Torres remain rooted in the band’s legacy today, Sambora left the band 11 years ago after a 30-year run.

In the new documentary “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story,” fans get an inside look into the famed rock band members’ lives today — and where things stand between them.

The Hulu series, which came out April 26, explores untold truths and stories about the legendary band through accounts from most of its original band members: frontman Jon Bon Jovi, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres and guitarist Richie Sambora.

While Bon Jovi, Bryan and Torres remain rooted in the band’s legacy today, Sambora left the band 11 years ago after a 30-year run. Since then, fans have been left with a number of burning questions regarding the former lead guitarist’s sudden exit, which happened during the band’s “Because We Can” tour in 2013.

Over a decade later, those fans are finally getting answers, as the documentary addresses the events leading up to Sambora’s shocking departure. The series also addresses the effects that it had on a decades-long friendship between the leader singer and his right-hand man.

Here’s all you need to know about why Sambora made the call to officially leave the band and what his relationship with Bon Jovi looks like now.

How did Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora meet?

Back in the 1980s, when Bon Jovi was putting his band together, he was still looking for a guitarist.

According to “Thank You, Goodnight,” the band’s founding bassist, Alec John Such, who was a member of the band until 1994 and died in 2022, introduced Sambora to Bon Jovi. He officially joined the band in 1983.

In Episode One of the documentary, a flashback shows the band being interviewed by Dick Clark. When asked about how he met Sambora, Bon Jovi said, “Richie was in the audience one night at a show when the four of us (Bon Jovi, Bryan, Torres and Such) were playing, and he came up to me and says, ‘I want to be your lead guitar player.’”

Fast-forward to present day, Bon Jovi recounts what it was like finding the former lead guitarist.

The series then shows a flashback with Sambora in an interview, recalling the events leading up to him joining the rock group.

“Alec had called me up and said ‘I’m playing with this new band, you know, “John Bongiovi & The Wild Ones.” Come down and see the band,’” Sambora said in the interview. “I said, ‘Yeah, sure.”

In another flashback, Bon Jovi said that after hearing Sambora “play and talking a bit, we found that we were really on the same track.”

Torres then is seen in a flashback interview, teasing Sambora for blatantly telling Bon Jovi, “I’m your new guitar player.” Sambora countered in the interview and jokingly quipped that he was “very cocky.”

Bon Jovi mentioned that he and Sambora “immediately hit it off.”

“I knew that this guy was incredibly talented, he could play, he could sing, he could write, and I thought, he would be an incredible complement,” he continues.

Torres acknowledges the “magic” that Bon Jovi and Sambora’s voices had with each other, saying that their “vocal styles together made its own style.”

What has Sambora said about leaving the band?

Bon Jovi and Sambora, who co-wrote several of the band’s hit songs, have been through a lot over their decades-long relationship — including, of course, Sambora’s sudden exit from the band.

In Episode Three, Sambora starts opening up about his departure from the band, saying that it was “amalgamation” of things, including “deep family problems.”

“I spent so much time being on the road, and at that time unfortunately, my ex-wife (Heather Locklear) was having some mental health issues, and my daughter coming to an age where she could understand,” he says.

He continues, “She needed me and I needed her, truthfully, we didn’t have enough time.”

Sambora also addresses his struggles not only related to his family life, but with “being part of one of the biggest bands in the world” while gearing up for their “Because We Can” tour in 2013 after the release of their twelfth studio album, “What About Now.”

Bryan notes in Episode Three that there was “tension” when the band was recording the album, and spoke about the creative limitations Sambora had, given his personal struggles and continued absence during studio sessions.

He also talks about how John Shanks — the band’s producer and back-up guitarist when creating that album — was filling in for Sambora on the tracks.

Songwriter Desmond Child then recalls that Sambora would “come to the studio and everything was done.”

From Sambora’s account, he felt the band was “stale” at that point, and his “job was to say that.” However, in the end, Sambora notes that the time leading up to his departure got “sour.”

“Jon wanted it done good, he got in a strange mood about time,” Sambora says of making the album

Bon Jovi and Shanks ended up writing “What About Now” without Sambora, and the frontman notes he was “just pushing to keep going.”

He also believes that Sambora was “really upset that on a song (Bon Jovi) had written called ‘The Fighter,’ he didn’t play this one part on an acoustic guitar … and that caused a problem.”

“After all those records, people know how I play, and I went, ‘Have at it,’” Sambora recalls.

Shanks was able to record Sambora’s parts on the track, and Bon Jovi recounts that this led to Sambora feeling “crushed that he was replaced.”

“John Shanks and Jon had 30 songs and they said they felt like they had the record, and I said, ‘Let me hear it.’ I go, ‘Don’t sound like Bon Jovi.’ It just didn’t sound like us because I wasn’t there,” Sambora explains.

“He had the whole thing kind of planned out, which basically was telling me, ‘I can do it without you,’ and I was getting treated kind of like I didn’t write and do all that stuff, and I wasn’t the guy they talked to anymore,” Sambora says.

When Sambora suddenly left the band in 2013, Bon Jovi brought Canadian guitarist Phil X on as a temporarily replacement for Sambora. However, after Sambora’s continued absence, Phil X officially became a permanent member of the band in 2016.

In Episode Four, Bon Jovi was asked when he realized Sambora’s departure was permanent. The frontman’s response at the time of filming was that even “10 years later, I still haven’t.”

    Where do they stand now?

Despite multiple articles claiming that there is bad blood, Bon Jovi said in an April interview with People that “there’s never animosity” between the former bandmates.

Bon Jovi also told the outlet that Sambora “came over and watched three parts of the docuseries at (his) house.”

Prior to this, all five original members of Bon Jovi came back together in 2018 for a performance at the band’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio.

In Episode Four of the documentary, Sambora says, “I don’t regret leaving the situation, but I regret how I did it, so I want to apologize fully right now to the fans, especially, and also to the guys, because my feet and my spirit were just not letting me walk out the door.”

Bon Jovi also addresses the “void” he has felt since Sambora’s exit in that same episode.

“The true magic of our live performance was when we sang together, and when we sang together, that was our unique spot,” Bon Jovi says of performing with his former bandmate. “It was as identifiable as any great combination that made one and one three, and I don’t think that’s been replaced.”

ROCK LEGENDS REVEALED: Jon Bon Jovi’s Handwritten Lyrics for ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ and ‘Wanted Dead Or Alive’ Up for Grabs—A Once-in-a-Lifetime Auction Stuns Fans and Collectors

In a move that has electrified the music world and sent shockwaves through the hearts of rock fans everywhere, two of the most iconic anthems in American rock history—“Livin’ On A Prayer” and “Wanted Dead Or Alive”—are now at the center of a jaw-dropping auction. But this isn’t just any memorabilia sale. For the first time ever, Jon Bon Jovi’s original, handwritten lyrics to both songs—complete with his signature—are being offered to the public. The news has set off a frenzy of speculation, nostalgia, and excitement, as fans and collectors alike scramble for a chance to own a piece of rock ‘n’ roll history.

    THE LEGEND BEHIND THE LYRICS

Bon Jovi’s “Slippery When Wet” album, released in 1986, didn’t just top charts—it defined an era. With its blend of blue-collar storytelling, infectious hooks, and arena-sized choruses, the album catapulted the band from New Jersey barroom hopefuls to global superstars. “Livin’ On A Prayer” and “Wanted Dead Or Alive” became instant classics, anthems for dreamers, rebels, and survivors everywhere.

But while millions have sung along to those unforgettable lines—“Tommy used to work on the docks…” and “I’m a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride…”—few have ever glimpsed the raw, intimate process behind their creation. That’s what makes this auction so extraordinary: the chance to see, in Jon Bon Jovi’s own handwriting, the words that would inspire generations.

A ROCK STAR’S PENMANSHIP: THE POWER OF THE HANDWRITTEN PAGE

In an age of digital music and manufactured memorabilia, the authenticity of a rock star’s handwritten lyrics is almost mythic. Each page tells a story—not just of the song, but of the hands that wrote it, the late nights in hotel rooms or tour buses, the scribbled-out lines and sudden flashes of inspiration.

Jon Bon Jovi shares handwritten lyrics for iconic Bon Jovi hit

Sources close to the band say that Jon Bon Jovi has always been meticulous about his lyrics, often rewriting and refining them until they “felt right.” The pages on offer reportedly include not only the final, polished verses but also notes, corrections, and margin doodles—giving fans a rare window into the mind of a songwriting legend.

“It’s like holding a piece of magic,” says music historian Dr. Emily Harper. “These aren’t just lyrics—they’re artifacts of American culture. They capture a moment when rock music meant everything, when a song could change your life.”

THE AUCTION: A FRENZY OF BIDDERS AND BREATHTAKING NUMBERS

The auction, announced by a leading New York memorabilia house, has already sparked international headlines. Early estimates suggest the lyrics could fetch upwards of $500,000, but insiders say the final price could soar even higher. “There’s simply nothing else like this on the market,” says auctioneer Michael Grant. “Bon Jovi is one of the biggest bands of all time, and these are two of their most beloved songs. The demand is off the charts.”

Interest isn’t limited to diehard fans. Major celebrities, tech moguls, and even European royalty are rumored to be among the potential bidders. “It’s not just about owning a piece of paper,” Grant explains. “It’s about owning a piece of legend.”

WHY NOW? THE MYSTERY OF THE RELEASE

The decision to release these handwritten lyrics has prompted intense speculation. Why would Jon Bon Jovi part with such personal treasures now? Some point to the band’s upcoming 40th anniversary, suggesting the auction is part of a larger celebration of their legacy. Others wonder if there’s a deeper, more personal motivation.

Jon Bon Jovi Thought 'Livin' on a Prayer' Was Just 'Okay'

In a brief statement, Bon Jovi said only, “These songs belong to everyone now. I hope they inspire someone the way they inspired me.” The band’s representatives declined further comment.

THE POWER OF ‘LIVIN’ ON A PRAYER’ AND ‘WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE’

Few songs have captured the American spirit quite like “Livin’ On A Prayer.” With its tale of working-class lovers Tommy and Gina, the song became an anthem of hope and perseverance in the face of adversity. It’s been covered by everyone from Bruce Springsteen to Lady Gaga, and has become a staple at sporting events, weddings, and karaoke nights around the world.

“Wanted Dead Or Alive,” meanwhile, is the ultimate outlaw ballad—a song that transformed the image of the rock star into a modern cowboy, forever riding between the lights of the stage and the loneliness of the road. Its haunting refrain—“I’m wanted… dead or alive”—has echoed across stadiums for nearly four decades.

“These songs are more than hits,” says longtime fan Rachel McKinley. “They’re the soundtrack to our lives.”

    THE COLLECTOR’S HOLY GRAIL

For collectors, the auction represents a holy grail—a chance to own not just a piece of paper, but a piece of the American dream. Handwritten lyrics from legendary artists have always commanded top dollar, but few have the cultural weight of Bon Jovi’s classics.

Jon Bon Jovi says he wasn't 'impressed' with band's hit song 'Livin' on a Prayer': 'I was wrong'

Music memorabilia expert Alex Turner compares the sale to the auction of John Lennon’s “Imagine” lyrics or Bob Dylan’s “Blowin’ in the Wind.” “This is history,” Turner says. “In twenty years, people will look back and say, ‘I can’t believe those lyrics were ever available.’”

    A LEGACY THAT LIVES ON

As the auction countdown begins, fans are left to wonder: who will win these priceless pages? Will they end up in a private collection, a museum, or perhaps on display for the world to see?

One thing is certain: the songs of Bon Jovi are as powerful today as they were in 1986. And with this unprecedented auction, the legend only grows.

In the words of Jon Bon Jovi himself: “We’ve got to hold on to what we’ve got.” For one lucky bidder, that means holding on to the very words that changed rock music forever.

Bidding closes next month. Let the battle begin.

Jayson Tatum’s Secret Ink: The Hidden Story Behind the NBA Superstar’s Mysterious Tattoo—What Is He Hiding?

    Jayson Tatum

BOSTON— In the world of professional basketball, every move is scrutinized, every gesture analyzed, and every detail dissected by millions of fans. But sometimes, even the most public figures manage to keep secrets—until now. Boston Celtics phenom Jayson Tatum, known for his smooth jump shot and ice-cold composure, has stunned fans with a shocking revelation: a mysterious tattoo, hidden in plain sight, that’s become the talk of the NBA.

For years, Tatum’s clean-cut image and sharp suits have made him a marketing darling. But recent glimpses of ink peeking from beneath his jersey have set off a firestorm of speculation. What does the tattoo mean? Why did he keep it secret for so long? And what does it reveal about the private life of one of basketball’s brightest young stars?

The First Clues: A Glimpse of Ink

It started innocently enough. During a heated playoff game last season, cameras caught a flash of dark ink on Tatum’s upper back as he celebrated a clutch three-pointer. Social media erupted. Fans zoomed in on screenshots, debated possible designs, and speculated about hidden meanings. Was it a tribute? A symbol? Or something much deeper?

Until then, Tatum had been tight-lipped about his body art, brushing off questions with a smile or a shrug. But as the buzz grew louder, it became clear: there was more to this story than anyone realized.

    A Hidden Message?

Sources close to the Celtics locker room say Tatum’s tattoo is no ordinary design. “It’s not just for show,” confided one teammate, speaking on condition of anonymity. “It means something to him—something big. But he doesn’t talk about it, even with us.”

Rumors swirled. Some said it was a tribute to his mother, Brandy Cole, who raised him as a single parent and remains his biggest supporter. Others whispered about cryptic numbers, secret codes, and even connections to Tatum’s childhood in St. Louis.

For those who care about Tatum's ink, we got Giannis' brother's name added to his arm, and a nice added touch on his leg sleeve : r/bostonceltics

But the truth, as it turns out, is even more surprising.

The Revelation: Tatum Breaks His Silence

In an exclusive interview with *The Boston Globe*, Tatum finally addressed the rumors. “People always ask about my tattoo,” he said, smiling shyly. “I guess it’s time to talk about it.”

Tatum revealed that the tattoo—a delicate, intricate design—features the initials “D.T.” and the number “98.” At first glance, the meaning seems obvious: “D.T.” for Deuce Tatum, his beloved son, and “98” for the year his mother graduated college, the moment that changed their family’s destiny.

    But there’s a twist.

    More Than Meets the Eye

“The tattoo is for my mom and my son,” Tatum explained. “But it’s also for me. It’s a reminder of where I came from and where I want to go. Every time I see it, I think about the sacrifices my mom made, and the future I want to give Deuce.”

    But why keep it hidden?

“I didn’t want it to be about the tattoo,” Tatum admitted. “I wanted it to be about my game. But as I’ve gotten older, I realize it’s okay to show people who you are. The tattoo is part of my story.”

A Symbol of Struggle and Triumph

Tatum’s journey from St. Louis to NBA superstardom is the stuff of legend. Raised by a single mother who worked multiple jobs to support him, Tatum faced long odds. But with talent, drive, and relentless support from his family, he rose through the ranks—first as a high school phenom, then as a Duke Blue Devil, and finally as the face of the Celtics.

The tattoo, he says, is a tribute to that journey. “It’s about never forgetting where you came from, no matter how far you go.”

Fans React: Shock, Admiration, and Speculation

News of Tatum’s tattoo has sent shockwaves through the NBA community. Social media exploded with reactions ranging from admiration to disbelief.

“I had no idea he even had a tattoo!” tweeted one fan. “Just makes me respect him more. He’s so real.”

Others speculated about hidden meanings. “What if ‘98’ is about something else? Maybe it’s a secret code for his next move…”

But for most, the revelation only deepened their appreciation for the young star. “He plays with heart because he’s got so much riding on it,” wrote a Celtics blogger. “Now we know what drives him.”

NBA Culture: Tattoos as Personal Statements

Tatum’s tattoo puts him in good company. Across the league, tattoos have become more than just body art—they’re personal statements, tributes, and sometimes, shields against the pressures of fame.

From LeBron James’s “Chosen 1” to Kevin Durant’s intricate back piece, NBA stars use ink to tell their stories. But Tatum’s approach—quiet, reserved, and deeply personal—sets him apart.

“He’s not flashy about it,” said Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla. “That’s just who he is. He lets his game do the talking.”

    The Man Behind the Ink

As Tatum’s star continues to rise, the tattoo serves as a constant reminder of his roots—and his responsibilities. “Everything I do is for my family,” he says. “They’re my motivation. The tattoo is just a way to keep them close, even when I’m on the court.”

Jayson Tatum tái hiện khoảnh khắc chung kết NBA với hình xăm mới

In a league where image is everything, Tatum’s decision to finally reveal the story behind his tattoo is both shocking and refreshing. It’s a reminder that even the biggest stars are shaped by love, loss, and the quiet moments that matter most.

    What’s Next for Tatum?

With the Celtics poised for another playoff run and Tatum playing the best basketball of his career, the spotlight has never been brighter. But for Tatum, the tattoo is a grounding force—a symbol of where he’s been, and where he’s going.

“I want people to know me for more than just basketball,” Tatum says. “I want them to know my story.”

And now, thanks to one small tattoo with a world of meaning, they do.
