WNBA fans are getting excited for year two of Clark with the Fever after seeing pictures of her this weekend during the women’s basketball Big Ten Tournament featuring her Iowa Hawkeyes.

Clark was pictured flexing after a big play on the court, and Bri Lewerke, the photographer at the game, caught the moment that showed off her bulked-up physique.

“Well someone’s been in the weight room,” Lewerke captioned her photo on X.

Clark’s animated gestures courtside were during the Hawkeyes’ tough loss to Ohio State, 60-59, in the quarterfinals of the tournament on Friday.

“She’ll be bada– this year,” a commentator said under the picture.

Another one added: “Year 2 is going to be FUN!”

White spoke to The Athletic earlier this offseason about Clark’s impact on the WNBA, likening her to Taylor Swift with the amount of attention she has gotten so quickly and how she handles the fame, while focusing on her craft.

One example of focusing on her game was recognizing the need to pack on muscle after getting tossed around a bit in her rookie campaign – some of those moments led to widespread debate.

“She’s got a lot of self-awareness,” White said about Clark. “She figured out right away that, ‘I need to get stronger. I can’t get knocked around as much.’ “She’s done a great job of getting in the weight room and focusing on her strength, in terms of low center of gravity, time under tension, all of those things. I think the next step is efficiency. Not so many turnovers, higher field goal percentages.”

Clark also told reporters during the 2024 Paris Olympics break in the W season last year that she was hitting the weight room hard.

“I’m small but I try to holy my own the best I can,” she said in August 2024, via The New York Post. “…I don’t know, I think I’m discreetly strong. I’m never gonna be the strongest person. I know that. I try to put on some weight, and I’ve been working hard in the weight room.”

The new W season begins in mid-May, when Clark will take on fellow rookie star Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky on May 17 to open the 2025 campaign.

During an interview with the U.K.-based online publication Them published on Thursday, March 5, the British music icon revealed he’s in “awe” of the 27-year-old “HOT TO GO!” singer — and also shared that they FaceTime.

“I first heard of ‘Pink Pony Club’ and I played it on my [Apple Music show] ‘Rocket Hour’ about three years ago,” John, 77, said during the interview. He added: “Then I started to FaceTime her personally and just fell in love with her. I loved who she was, what she talked about, how brave she was, her story. I love her bravery and the fact she’s not scared to speak out and she won’t do something if she doesn’t want to.”

“It is not all about doing this and doing that and going where you’re supposed to. If you haven’t got the energy and it is taking your creative juices away, don’t do it. She’s not afraid to say that, and I love her for that,” he continued.

The Goodbye Yellow Brick Road singer also shared that he’s told Roan she can always lean on him for support and advice.

The musicians recently performed together at the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Academy Awards viewing party on March 2. John posted photos and clips from the evening on Instagram several days later, sharing that the pair performed Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” and his 1974 hit “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.”

John also shared that the event raised over $8.6 million for the foundation. “This generosity changes lives for people living with or most vulnerable to HIV around the world. Until next year, West Hollywood,” he added.

John is currently in the midst of promoting his latest album, Who Believes in Angels?, which he wrote with singer and fellow LGBTQ+ activist Brandi Carlile.

Carlile, 43, who was interviewed alongside John in the Them article, explained that the album, and specifically their new single “Swing for the Fences,” represents “unwavering support for LGBTQIA+ people.”

“[From] me and Elton and different generations, coming from different countries, and still saying that the sky’s the limit for you. You can go all the way because we’re behind you, and there are generations of queer people behind you,” she continued.

Just days after her husband Carl Dean’s death, Dolly Parton has released a song in tribute to her lost love.

In an early morning March 7 Instagram post, the 79-year-old country music icon announced the release of “If You Hadn’t Been There,” accompanied by a throwback photo of the couple looking every bit in love. Dean passed away in 2025 at the age of 82.

In addition to releasing a song in memory of her late husband, Parton penned a heartfelt message explaining to fans how strong their bond was in the caption.

“I fell in love with Carl Dean when I was 18 years old,” Parton wrote. “We have spent 60 precious and meaningful years together. Like all great love stories, they never end. They live on in memory and song. He will always be the star of my life story, and I dedicate this song to him.”

Dolly Parton’s late husband served as inspiration for one of the country music star’s biggest hits.

Carl Dean, who died March 3, caught the eye of a bank teller in the 1970s – leading Parton to write “Jolene.” The song begs another woman not to take her man and is really “an innocent” song, according to the country crooner.

“She got this terrible crush on my husband,” Parton told NPR in 2008.

“And he just loved going to the bank because she paid him so much attention,” the “Islands in the Stream” singer recalled. “It was kind of like a running joke between us when I was saying, ‘Hell, you’re spending a lot of time at the bank. I don’t believe we’ve got that kind of money.’ So it’s really an innocent song all around, but sounds like a dreadful one.”

“One night I was on stage, and there was this beautiful little girl,” the musician told NPR. “She was probably 8 years old at the time. And I said, ‘Well, you’re just the prettiest little thing I’ve ever seen.’ I said, ‘What is your name?’ And she said, ‘Jolene.’”

“And I said, well, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene. I said, that is pretty, I said, that sounds like a song. I’m going to write a song about that.”

Emma Raducanu has reportedly been antagonising members of Wimbledon’s All England Club, who have accused her of “arrogance” for breaking one of the venue’s long-standing rules.

Players are required to follow an all-white dress code while using the hallowed courts for matches and practice sessions – an order that even extends to the Grand Slam tournament held in summer. But the British No. 2 is said to have been flouting the rules, even turning up in a controversial pink kit.

According to the Daily Mail, the 2021 US Open champion’s behaviour has been “enraging members”, with some complaining that Raducanu is taking to the prestigious grass courts wearing “whatever outfit she wants”.

Wimbledon rules state that players must take to the courts in “suitable tennis attire that is almost entirely white”. The code also says this applies “from the point at which the player enters the court surround”.

The strict regulations also note that white “does not include off-white or cream”, while only a 10mm trim of another single colour is allowed around the neckline or the cuff of the sleeves.

However, Raducanu has been accused of ignoring the dress code, as one member claimed: “It’s so unfair. Emma rocks up in a pink outfit while everyone else respects the all-white rule.

“Who does she think she is? Just because she’s won the US Open doesn’t mean she can wear whatever she wants.”

The All England Club’s all-white mandate has been a talking point throughout the years of the Wimbledon Championships. Last year, Novak Djokovic had to seek permission to wear a grey knee brace during his recovery from surgery.

Nick Kyrgios also caused a stir during his run to the final in 2022, when he arrived on the court in a pair of red Nike Jordan shoes and a matching cap before changing into his white attire.

In 2013, eight-time champion Roger Federer received a telling-off for wearing orange-soled shoes and had to change them before his next appearance.

The club’s rules on wearing white during matches and practice sessions were first introduced in the 1880s. An amendment was made ahead of the tournament in 2023, allowing female players to wear dark undershorts beneath their kit.

All England Club CEO Sally Bolton said players flagged the issue as a “considerable concern”.

It came after WTA star Daria Saville revealed that she “skipped” her period due to the draconian requirements.

“I myself had to skip my period around Wimbledon for the reason that I didn’t want to worry about bleeding through. We already have enough stress,” she told The Daily Aus.
