Justin Timberlake swore off alcohol in the wake of his humiliating DUI bust, but insiders claim he’s hating every second of his sobriety.

The pop star made concessions to wife Jessica Biel to keep the peace after his arrest and is now complaining to friends about how “boring” life is without it, RadarOnline.com can reveal.

Insiders said: “He’s on a strict health regime and trying to crawl back into his wife Jessica Biel’s good books, but he’s not a happy camper.”

Police said Timberlake, 43, was intoxicated when he blew through a stop sign in the Hamptons after a night out with friends at a Sag Harbor hotel on June 18.

As RadarOnline.com reported, the former boy band member refused to take a breathalyzer test three times and failed several sobriety tests during the traffic stop.

Arresting officer Michael Arkinson noted in his report the singer was “unable to follow police instructions correctly” and had “bloodshot and glassy eyes, odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from breath, inability to divide attention and was unsteady afoot”.

Despite the descriptions, the Cry Me a River singer insisted he only had “one martini”.

His lawyers attempted to have his case dismissed as he pleaded not guilty to the charges, but a judge suspended his driver’s license in New York. Another hearing is scheduled for September 13.

Since his arrest, sources claim the 43-year-old has been in hot water with Biel, 42, who is said to be “tired of his misbehaving and ordered him to shape up or else”.

Sources added: “He was busted with a vape pen – a big worry because of the effect it can have on his lungs – so he’s now ditched that for good.

“And he’s gone pretty much cold turkey on the booze except for the occasional glass of wine at dinner or on special occasions, but he’s committed to a very clean life – and it’s not been easy.”

The 7th Heaven star, who shares sons Silas, 9, and Phineas, 4, with the Grammy-winning artist, is apparently keeping a close eye on her husband.

Insiders said: “He’s admitted to his friends that it’s very boring because there’s nothing to take the edge off, especially when he’s out on the road.

“But he’s promised his wife to clean up his act and he’s sticking to it, no matter how tough it gets.”

Timberlake’s “strict health regime” was implemented after he recognized he had some “bad habits” landing him behind bars.

Sources said: “Part of Justin’s mea culpa to Jessica was to admit that he’d gotten into some bad habits and that he needs to dial everything way back.”

Biel was said to be “angry” with her husband because “Justin could’ve hurt someone or himself”.

Insiders added: “It was a selfish and stupid thing to have let happen.”

    (B) “Travis Kelce’s Father Explodes Over Kanye’s Latest Taylor Swift Diss: ‘Mental Illness on Full Display’”

Travis Kelce’s father reacted furiously on social media after Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign mocked his son’s romance with Taylor Swift in their new album, leading Ed Kelce to describe Lil Wayne’s song “Lifestyle (Demo)” as “mentally ill” and “dull” compared to previous successes

The father of Travis Kelce is piping hot mad. He took to Facebook to post a Daily Mail article spotlighting a lyric on Kanye West’s long-awaited Vultures 2 album with Ty Dolla $ign that mentions Taylor Swift.

Kanye featured a lyrical reference to Taylor Swift’s romance with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. “I twist my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce,” Lil Wayne raps on the track “Lifestyle (Demo).”

“Mental illness on full display,” Ed wrote in response.

Honestly, those lyrics are quite tame to what we have heard in the past.

Taylor Swift and Kanye West have not been on the same page for years, which started with West interrupting Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

Kanye has mentioned Taylor Swift in a track once before. The infamous track “Famous” featured the line: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/ Why? I made that b—- famous.”

Kanye claimed at the time that he informed Swift of the lyrics prior to releasing them, which she denied. That led Kim Kardashian to release a video that showed Kanye on the phone with Swift as he played the lyrics.

Swift has yet to ever respond to that particular lyric.

Taylor Swift Has Bigger Fish To Fry Than To Deal With Lyrics From Kanye West
Taylor Swift has more to deal with than lyrics from Kanye West as her Eras Tour stops in Vienna, Austria, were canceled earlier this week following a terrifying threat of violence.

Associated Press reported that the main suspect in the case has been arrested as he confessed that he planned to “kill as many people as possible” outside Ernst Happel Stadium, where Swift was scheduled to perform from August 8 to 10.

The latest controversy involving the rapper Kanye West and pop star Taylor Swift has once again sparked a heated debate among fans and critics alike. Kanye’s latest lyric mentioning Taylor Swift’s relationship with NFL player Travis Kelce has raised eyebrows and drawn criticism from many, including Kelce’s own father. The lyric in question, featured on Kanye’s new album Vultures 2, has been deemed as disrespectful and unnecessary by many. While this is not the first time Kanye has referenced Taylor Swift in his music, it seems to have struck a nerve with Kelce’s family. The ongoing feud between Kanye and Taylor has been well-documented over the years, stemming from the infamous incident at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Despite attempts to reconcile, the tension between the two artists has only grown over time. However, Taylor Swift has more pressing matters to attend to, as recent events have forced her to cancel tour dates in Vienna due to a serious security threat. The safety of her fans and crew remains a top priority, and authorities have taken swift action to apprehend the suspect responsible for the threat. As the drama continues to unfold, it is clear that both Kanye West and Taylor Swift have their own battles to fight. While the feud between them may never truly be resolved, it is important to focus on the bigger issues at hand. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

Sophie Cunningham cannot be stopped and is barely contained when it comes to fashion.

The Phoenix Mercury star possibly wore her riskiest outfit of the 2024 season when she showed up to a recent game without wearing any underwear.

Sophie Cunningham showed up to Footprint Center on Monday night to play a game against the New York Liberty rocking a “Get Off My Shoulders Mesh Mini Dress” from Fashion Nova.

The multicolored outfit featured a strapless dress so high that the superstar guard could barely cover her lady parts.

She also showed off her tan lines and made it clear that she had no underwear on with the outfit.

Sophie Cunningham added some brown heels and sunglasses as she gave her best model walk as she made her way to the locker room.

Unfortunately for Sophie Cunningham and the Phoenix Mercury, this would be the highlight of their night.

The team came out on their own floor flat, and it led to just scoring nine points total in the first quarter. They made up for it in the second frame as they outscored the Liberty by nine and tied the game at half.

The second-half offense failed to come out, and the team couldn’t score 20 points in either the third or fourth quarter. They ended up losing by double digits, 84-70.

In 32 minutes, Sophie Cunningham had a rough shooting night. She scored just two points on 1 of 5 shooting from the field, including 0 for 3 from 3-point land.

Sophie Cunningham And The Mercury Need To Keep Winning To Ensure Playoff Spot

Last year was a bad season for the Phoenix Mercury as they welcomed Brittany Griner back from her Russia imprisonment.

Things have been much different in 2024, as Sophie Cunningham has been a big reason the team is above .500 and currently sitting sixth in the standings, per ESPN.

The top eight teams make the playoffs, so the team needs to continue to rack up victories to secure their spot.

    (B) Brittany Mahomes Sparks Controversy: Will Her Support for Trump End Her Friendship with Taylor Swift?

Brittany Mahomes Has A Message For Her Haters After Receiving Tons Of Backlash For Supporting Donald Trump

Brittany Mahomes appears to be a Donald Trump supporter and does not care who doesn’t like it.

Mahomes is known as the wife of perhaps the NFL’s best quarterback, and she has been involved in controversy many times in the past.

However, the opinion surrounding her seemed to change after she became good friends with Taylor Swift.

That is likely all over after Brittany Mahomes sent a scathing message to her “haters” on Instagram Friday.

The Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback’s wife appeared to like Donald Trump’s Instagram post from Aug. 13th outlining the “2024 GOP platform,” and she was blasted for being a supporter of his.

Brittany was not going to be bullied because of her political stance.

Brittany took to her Instagram story and posted, “I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to hear from childhood. There’s no reason your brain is fully developed, and you hate to see others doing well.”

Just in case anyone thought that the liked post could’ve been faked, screenshots and a screen-recorded video indicated that she truly liked the post.

Will The Relationship Between Taylor Swift And Brittany Mahomes Dwindle Because of Political Affiliations?
Taylor Swift has not endorsed a candidate so far in 2024, but she has shown in the past that she is a supporter of the Democratic party.

Brittany Mahomes swings the other way as she has basically been exposed as a Donald Trump supporter.

Swift and Brittany Mahomes attended several Chiefs games throughout the season in 2023, but will that continue in 2024?

Swift’s fan base has already turned on Brittany, and they will likely push the pop star to do the same.

We will just have to wait and see if they continue hanging out.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren warns ‘The View’ about J.D. Vance: “More Trump than Trump” (HG)

Whoopi Goldberg demands voters recognize 'we're all in danger' if Trump wins in November | Fox News

During a busy week in politics, Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren weighed in on all the commotion.

The politician stopped by this morning’s episode of The View, where she warned the co-hosts that former president Donald Trump‘s running mate J.D. Vance is not the same man who criticized Trump years ago.

(Editor’s Note: The View is currently on hiatus; contrary to what you may have heard, The View was not canceled today. This article was originally published on July 17, 2024 when this episode first aired. The View will return with new episodes in September.)

“Understand who J.D. Vance is — and I’m not talking about the original J.D. Vance who referred to Donald Trump as ‘America’s Hitler,’” she said. “But the J.D. Vance who’s evidently changed his position.”

Warren added, “He is the J.D. Vance now who is more Trump than Trump on abortion,” noting that Vance will also “help” Trump “cut social security and medicare.”

She also pointed out that Vance wants to “get rid” of the Affordable Care Act, which she said would be a “real risk” for Americans with health insurance since it doesn’t allow insurance companies to “discriminate against” people with pre-existing conditions.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren Warns 'The View' About J.D. Vance: “More Trump Than Trump” | Decider

“It’s J.D. Vance who owes his entire political career to billionaires — literally — who swooped in, poured money into his race in Ohio, lifted him up and he is all there on a tax cut that would give every billionaire $3.5 million every year in tax cuts, paid for by you,” she continued. “Not good. That’s who he is.”

The View co-hosts first brought attention to Vance on their July 16 episode when Joy Behar thought he would be “a good choice” for Democrats.

“He’s a carbon copy of Trump. So what new voters is he gonna bring in?” Behar said. “Not the suburban mom. Not the girl who needs an abortion. Not the gay people who want to retain their rights. Not people who support Ukraine. So, what exactly did he accomplish?”
    'The View'Photo: ABC
Alyssa Farah Griffin admitted that Vance had “some talents” given his background at Yale and in the Marines, though she also pointed out some of the more controversial moments from his career.

“For every normal interview he’s given in mainstream media, there are extremely polarizing clips of him in some of the farthest right corners of the internet espousing things that are outside of the political mainstream,” she said, adding that there has been “a total realignment of Republican politics.”

  • Shaquille O’Neal Co-Owned Big Chicken’s $28 Million Risk Not Enough to Threaten Michigan’s Top Dog

Shaquille O’Neal Co-Owned Big Chicken’s $28 Million Risk Not Enough to Threaten Michigan’s Top Dog

When Shaquille O’Neal went into the fast-casual dining business, he was not naive about how competitive it was. In-N-Out and Cheesecake Factory were among his staples. He’s run Papa John’s and Krispy Kreme franchises for years. So when he took his love for chicken sandwiches and turned it into Big Chicken Shaq, he wasn’t oblivious to the road ahead. Regardless, like the LSU standout arriving in a league that still had Michael Jordan in 1992, O’Neal and his business partners took Big Chicken into the crowded franchising business in 2021. The goal is to bring smiles. However, Big Chicken has to survive in a competitive landscape to fulfill Shaq’s goal. Michigan might just be the test for it.

The Shaq factor boosted Big Chicken’s success in Las Vegas and Texas, where new locations opened up rapidly. However, other celebrity joints have not survived competition in Michigan. Could Shaq be an example of the contrary?

Big Chicken Shaq’s biggest rival came in the way once

Two years after expanding Big Chicken, its CEO Josh Halpern signed a deal with H&D Group Investments, a Michigan-based franchising group, in August 2023. The initial plan was to open 20+ Big Chicken franchises in the Wolverine state. A month after this deal, a local publication researched which chain restauranteur is the most popular in the state.

According to a 2021 study, Subway is the most popular in Michigan, with 887 locations across the state. It outranks McDonald’s in the second spot by 300 locations. With a stronghold like that, the sandwich titan has very little to fear about an NBA legend’s emerging fast-casual chain. After all, it has its own TNT-bred NBA greatness.

Shaq, who named dishes on the menu after his career and loved ones, named the sloppiest sandwich the ‘Charles Barkley.’ Then the namesake signed an endorsement deal with Subway and Shaq renamed his dish to the ‘Big and Sloppy.’ It did nothing to the popularity of the mac-and-cheese stuffed sandwich.

But Subway had to do nothing to take a toll on another celebrity chain. Shaq’s old friend, Guy Fieri launched his own fast casual chain, Chicken Guy, in Livonia. His restaurant was flanked with a Chick-Fil-A, which is not even a top 12 popular restaurant in the state, and a Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken. Locals on social media narrated that Fieri’s restaurant was empty most days. Eventually, it shuttered on June 30 citing uncontrollable circumstances, though most believe it was crushed by competition.

While Chicken Guy was struggling, the first Michigan outlet of Big Chicken opened at 11476 N. Linden Road in Clio this February. Another in Metro Detroit’s Hartland Township was announced this month and more are coming. Shaq’s even taken over Fieri’s Livonia location to open a Big Chicken there. But some locals on social media are sceptical after Fieri’s experience.

The secret sauce of Shaq’s success

An example of Big Chicken’s tenacity, just like its namesake, is more visible in Texas. The Houston and Austin stores are thriving amid the Church’s Texas Chicken, Chick-Fil-A and so many more local chains. O’Neal has a way of surviving and it has to do with the experts he hired.

The restaurant group behind Big Chicken, JRS Hospitality, brought Josh Halpern for the job. Halpern has decades of experience growing CPG brands like Anheuser Busch. He makes becoming a Big Chicken franchisee tougher than getting into an Ivy League school. But Halpern’s not here to dish out opportunities to Shaq’s fans to get closer to the big man. He’s looking for franchisees with considerable management experience to operate a store or more through competition.

Opening a Big Chicken franchise is roughly a $1.4 million investment, a little steep compared to established franchise giants. About 20 locations in Michigan alone, is a $28 million task that needs to succeed. Coincidentally, Halpern appeared on Room For Seconds at the time of this writing where he said Big Chicken Success is dependant on unit-level economics. So protecting franchisees’ financial health, operating in inflations, and putting value over discounts are part of Halpern’s job.

‘Profits’ is not the endgame of ‘The Shaquille Way.’ According to Halpern, Big Chicken is to create smiles and that strategy has kept O’Neal’s business growing.

  • “The View” host Sunny Hostin argued that Caitlin Clark consistently benefits from “White privilege” and “pretty privilege”

“The View” host Sunny Hostin argued that Caitlin Clark consistently benefits from “White privilege” and “pretty privilege”

“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin argued that “White privilege” and “pretty privilege” played a role in Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark’s popularity during the ABC talk show Wednesday.

Caitlin Clark's popularity is about 'pretty privilege': Sunny Hostin

“I do think that there is a thing called pretty privilege. There is a thing called White privilege. There is a thing called tall privilege, and we have to acknowledge that, and so part of it is about race, because if you think about the Brittney Griners of the world, why did she have to go to play in Russia? Because they wouldn’t pay her,” Hostin said, referring to the WNBA.

The co-hosts of “The View” were discussing former ESPN host Jemele Hill’s argument that Clark owed much of her popularity to her race and sexuality.

Hostin said earlier in the discussion she had no issue with Clark bringing the WNBA some much-needed attention.

“Now, Caitlin Clark is bringing this money, these sponsorships, we hope, into the league and other players will benefit from it. But I do think that she is more relatable to more people because she’s White, because she’s attractive, and unfortunately, there still is that stigma against the LGBTQ+ community,” Hostin said.

Caitlin Clark drives to the basket against the Seattle Storm on May 22, 2024.

“Seventy percent of the WNBA is Black. A third of the players are in the LGBTQ+ community and we have to do something about that stigma in this country. I think people have a problem with basketball playing women that are lesbians. Who cares? They are great athletes.”

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said she’d become a fan of the WNBA because Clark was “so fun to watch,” adding that it had nothing to do with her skin color.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg argued that Hostin and herself have been trying to bring attention to the WNBA for years.

“These women are oftentimes equal if not better, sometimes, than the folks you’re watching,” Goldberg said.

“Sometimes better than the guys!” Hostin added.

“The View” host Sunny Hostin discussing Caitlin Clark.

Clark rose to national prominence, particularly over the last two seasons, while playing at the University of Iowa.

The all-time leading scorer in Division I NCAA women’s basketball history, she led Iowa to consecutive appearances in the national championship game before getting drafted first overall this year by the Fever.

Goldberg pushed back on Hill’s remarks and said Clark was getting attention because she was an excellent player.

“To have her reduced that way bothered me a lot because this is her record,” Goldberg said, pointing to her note card. “Unless you can show me who’s got a better record than this, this is why she’s getting the attention she’s getting, because she’s a damn good player and doesn’t matter whether she’s straight or gay, ain’t nobody crying when she’s making those balls.”

Hill, in a comment to the Los Angeles Times, also called out brands like Nike for not sponsoring more diverse players. Clark signed a $28 million deal with the brand after she graduated from the University of Iowa and she also inked an historic brand deal with Wilson this week.

“Black women are often erased from the picture,” Hill said. “There’s plenty of room to highlight and celebrate Caitlin Clark’s popularity while also discussing ways in which to not erase Black women from a league that they have built and continue to build.”

Naomi Osaka hints at next US Open outfit after ‘super suit’ inspired emotional win

Naomi Osaka wore an epic outfit as she defeated Jelena Ostapenko in the first round of the US Open – and the four-time major champion explained the inspiration behind her attire.

Naomi Osaka dazzled fans with her extraordinary outfit as she breezed into the second round of the US Open, dishing out a straight sets defeat to No. 10 seed Jelena Ostapenko.

The former champion, known for her powerful game and fashion statements on court, sported an eye-catching light green bow and white skirt covering that caught the eye the moment she stepped out into Louis Armstrong Stadium.

Emerging victorious over Ostapenko in a convincing 6-3 6-2 match, Osaka sent a clear signal that she’s back at her best despite recent struggles with form after taking time out for her pregnancy and to focus on her mental health.

Osaka, who has twice been crowned queen of the US Open shared the inspiration behind her self-titled “super suit”. She believes her bespoke tennis attire offers her an additional layer of strength to conquer opponents – a sentiment clearly mirrored by her commanding performance against Ostapenko.

Delving into how her outfit boosts her on-court prowess, Osaka said: “Well, I chose the color like at least a year ago. I definitely love to be involved in everything I do, whether it’s fashion or anything else.

    2024 US Open - Day 2

“But I feel like being able to be a part of my tennis outfits gives me, I would say, a different strength. Especially the US Open outfits, I feel like they are a little bit more flamboyant. When I was putting on my outfit today, I was, like, ah, I hope this isn’t too much.

“Because I had the tutu and then I had the bow jacket and it was green, I feel like everyone was staring at me funny. And then I put the headphones on, that was a real killer.

“I was, like, you know what, embrace this maximalist style. And then it made me feel better, another player came up to me and asked to take a picture. I hope it was a positive picture, it wasn’t, like, ‘Oh, my God, look at her.’”.

“Yeah, I think for me when I put on the outfit it’s almost like a super suit, so I try to channel that.”

Osaka also hinted at how she might draw power from her outfit in the second round by unveiling another new look. She added: “I do remember thinking, like, I need to win this match so I can wear my other color. That was very important to me.”

“Yeah, I guess you’ll see my other colour next time”. There will no doubt be a lot of fans waiting with interest to see what her next fashion statement entails

  • ‘I’ve faced both Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer – it’s clear who the better player is’

‘I’ve faced both Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer – it’s clear who the better player is’

Radu Albot faced Novak Djokovic in the first round of the US Open and previously played two matches against tennis legend Roger Federer.

Tennis star Radu Albot’s theory was proven right after he delivered his verdict on the difference between facing Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. The 34-year-old reached the main draw of the US Open after winning three qualifying rounds, which pitted him against Djokovic for the first time in his career.

While facing the 24-time Grand Slam champion is never easy, Albot played against a supremely confident Djokovic, having recently clinched Olympic gold for Serbia to claim the missing piece in his long list of honours. Their recent clash at the Arthur Ashe Stadium ended in a straight sets victory for Djokovic (6-2, 6-2, 6-4).

It is not the only time that Albot has been tasked with facing a tennis legend, twice facing off against Federer. However, ahead of his US Open clash, former world no.39 Albot admitted to We Love Tennis: “I’m aware that Novak is a tougher opponent than Federer, whom I’ve faced twice.”

The Moldovan was competing in the main draw of a Grand Slam for the 30th time in his career but had never faced a champion at a major. Having previously won a set against Federer during a three-set clash in Miami, the current world No 138 hoped to use that experience in his match against Djokovic but felt it would be a more daunting task – something that proved to be the case as he suffered a straight-sets loss.

“I think [playing against Federer] helps. I think it helps also what to expect from the crowd and I think it also helps the experience of what to expect from one of the greatest of all time as well,” Albot told ATP Tour. “When I was playing against Roger, I was going to the court only with the idea to win the match. I was not thinking, ‘Oh, I wish I take a game’, or, ‘I wish I take a set’, or something like that. No, I was going just to win.

“Novak is more complex. He has great physical [attributes], of course. He is moving great. He has great shots from both wings, forehand and backhand and serve and at the net, he’s good as well. So from this experience that I have from the previous matches playing Roger, Andy and other big guys, it will help me for sure the next match.

    Radu Albot

“Just on the court, especially in a five-setter, it’s a little bit different, because a lot of things can happen during the match. It’s a long match, and I just have to be prepared mentally and to make the correct adjustments during the match.”

Despite predicting how his match with Djokovic would unfold, Albot will still hold his head high. He refused to blame the luck of the draw after working hard to qualify for the US Open and simply hoped to make himself and Moldova proud in such a high-profile match.

“Of course, I’m not going to be crying and be like, ‘Oh, I’m unlucky’. Of course. I’m looking forward to this challenge, and I would like to see what I can do, how I can play, and how the match is going to be, especially that it’s going to be on a big court with a full house,” Albot added.

“It’s going to be all over the world on TV. I already got so many messages from back home about wishing me luck and beating Novak that I don’t have anything else to do, just to go there and to do my best, to compete at my best.

“I know if I play good, I’ll be happy. Of course, I go on the court to win. But we know who Djokovic is. We know his records. We know his achievements.

“We know his confidence, especially after winning the Olympics now recently. So I’ll just go there and try to focus on myself, and if I play well, I think I’ll be happy with that.”

Despite his first-round defeat, Albot still walked away with a handsome $100,000 (£76,853) cheque while Djokovic will now take on compatriot Laslo Djere in the second round.

Novak Djokovic surprisingly took aim at his US Open opponent Radu Albot before a comfortable first-round victory over the Moldovan star on the opening night of the Grand Slam.

Albot had previously defeated Djokovic’s two brothers, Marko and Djordje, but had never faced the four-time champion ahead of their meeting on Arthur Ashe.

Speaking before his 6-2, 6-2, 6-4 victory, the Serb vowed: “Both of my younger brothers faced him and they both lost to him, so hopefully I can avenge my brothers tonight…”

Djokovic has picked and won battles against some of tennis’ greatest ever players, including Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, while more recently forging a rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz, but he was keen to get one over on the world No. 138.

Albot had previously defeated both of Djokovic’s younger brothers within a two-year span in 2012 and 2013. He first beat Marko 6-4, 6-3 at the Sarajevo Indoor Hard tournament.

The following year he put Djordje to the sword 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 at the Bergamo Indoor Hard event, both at the last 32 stage, giving their older brother plenty of motivation heading into Flushing Meadows.

For the world No. 2 on his first match as an Olympic gold medallist, a solid performance earned Djokovic the title of most victories on Arthur Ashe by any man in history, surpassing Federer.

Standing at 5’9, Albot was unable to match the physicality of his opponent who was brimming with confidence, with the promise of family revenge on his mind Stateside.

After initially struggling with his first serve, Djokovic ground down Albot and was able to secure a comfortable victory to set up a second-round clash with compatriot Laslo Djere.

“It’s always challenging to start, particularly when you haven’t played on this surface for five, six months, and coming off an Olympic gold and playing on clay,” said Djokovic. “I haven’t had any official matches before the US Open. So I’m expecting to be probably challenged a little bit more in the opening rounds.

“Hopefully I can play better each day. The good thing about slams is you have a day between matches where you can train, where you can really work on things and perfect your game. That’s what I feel like I need.

“So I’m going to hit the practice courts tomorrow and work on things that haven’t really worked during the match and, yeah, keep striving to be better.”

When asked about the knee injury that plagued his Wimbledon campaign, the 37-year-old replied: “The knee is fine really. I haven’t had any issues throughout the entire Olympic tournament and here (in the) first round. Knock on wood, it’s all good.”
