In a world of boys, Adam Sandler’s family knows that Travis Kelce is a gentleman.

Indeed, Adam—who along with his daughters Sadie, 18, Sunny, 15, and wife Jackie Sandler is a self-proclaimed Taylor Swift fanatic—recently detailed his and his daughter’s reaction to the Kansas City Chiefs player and “Karma” singer debuting their romance last September.

“You being together,” Adam gushed on the Aug. 28 episode of New Heights. “That photo of when you first started dating, my family was like, ‘Yes! Look how good they are together! He’s a gentleman! And she’s having so much fun with him!’ Any time Taylor is laughing with you, my whole f–kin’ family is high fiving.”

And Travis’ cheeks were pink in the twinkling lights, as he responded, “You’ve got me sweating, man.”

Of course, Travis and Adam had no problem hyping up the “Fortnight” singer.

“What a girl,” Adam effused. “She means so much to our house. The kids were little and we were listening to Taylor Swift—it was one of the first times that you listen to every song on the record. When I was a kid, The Beatles you did that with, maybe Elton John. Every tune. They knew every word.”

And Travis agreed, “Best performer out there.”

But while Adam’s daughters put him on her music back in the day, he’s become a Swiftie in his own right.

“I love listening to her in the car,” he continued. “I love what she has to say. Every message. Every melody. The production. What she meant to young girls, what she means to women, what she means to guys doing the right thing in life.”

Beyond Taylor’s music, Adam also lauded Taylor for always taking the time to greet his daughters—and even recalled her complimenting them on their 2023 Netflix comedy You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah.

“Saturday Night Live, she saw the kids there—took her time with them,” he added. “And then at her premiere for the movie, she talked to the kids about their movie. She talked about what she liked in it, and she just floors my family.”

Of course, because of how much she means to his daughters, Adam also emphasized how Taylor is the one celebrity he still gets a “little f–king jumpy” around.

Meanwhile, Travis may be able to shake off the butterflies now, but that wasn’t always the case. After all, he previously detailed how nervous he was in the early stages of their relationship.

“Everybody around me telling me: ‘Don’t f–k this up,’ and me sitting here saying: ‘Yeah—got it,’” the 34-year-old explained to WSJ. Magazine in November 2023. “That was the biggest thing to me: make sure I don’t say anything that would push Taylor away.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s love story began in July 2023, when the singer’s Eras Tour made a stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo.

As a huge Swiftie, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end caught the show with hopes of giving Taylor a friendship bracelet with his number on it. However, he failed to complete the pass due to her pre-show rituals.

“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings,” Travis shared on the July 26 episode of his New Heights podcast. “So, I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”

Summer 2023: This Is Him Trying

After publicly recounting his fumble—a move Taylor would later describe as “metal as hell”—Travis decided to shoot his shot and invite the Grammy winner to watch the Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium.

“I threw it out there, I threw the ball in her court,” he shared on The Pat McAfee Show. “I told her, you know, ‘I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead, you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one’s a little more lit.’ So, we’ll see what happens in the near future.”

Though folklore had it that it was the couple’s first in-person meeting, the “Karma” singer later clarified the two had spent a “significant amount of time” getting to know each other beforehand.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

During a bye week, Travis traveled down to Argentina to catch the South American leg of Taylor’s Eras Tour. Not only did the NFL star bond with Taylor’s dad, Scott Swift, at the Nov. 11 show in Buenos Aires, but he also got a special shoutout from the stage.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

After the show, the Midnights artist was seen running up to Travis backstage and greeting him with a passionate kiss.

Novak Djokovic reached the third round at the 2024 US Open, but it was not an easy match against his compatriot Laslo Djere. After last year’s battle – in which Nole had prevailed in five sets by coming back two sets behind him – Djere put the 24-time Grand Slam champion through much of the match but was less able in the decisive moments. After losing the first two sets, Laslo had to retire due to an injury.

The former world number 1 has been able to celebrate a very valuable victory, as he became the first tennis player in history to have won at least 90 matches in every Grand Slam tournament. The 37-year-old from Belgrade is not yet at the top of his form, being his first tournament on the hard court in many months, but he feels competitive at high levels.

His next opponent will be the Australian Alexei Popryin, who is perhaps playing the best tennis of all his career. The Australian has some very dangerous weapons on this surface and recently won his first Masters 1000 in Montreal. Djokovic and Popryin have already faced each other twice this year, at the Australian Open and the Wimbledon Championships respectively. Novak prevailed on both occasions, but Alexei always managed to put him in trouble.

Novak Djokovic is aware that he must raise his level if he wants to win the 25th Major of his legendary career.

Two very close sets before his opponent’s retirement. It was not an easy second round for Novak Djokovic at the US Open, who also experienced some physical problems between the first and second sets. The Serbian champion had to fight hard and not a bit to pass compatriot Laslo Djere, who gave much to wrangle in the two partial finished with a score of 6-4. Nole updated fans and media at a press conference on her current condition: “I had stomach problems for most of the first two sets, this was reflected in the way I recovered after the points. I was sweating a lot, I had trouble breathing,” he said, revealing how unwell he felt on the iconic Arthur Ashe Stadium. The h*t and sultry weather put a strain on tennis players on Wednesday. The World number 2 will now have a precious day of rest to recharge for the next round in New York. As at Wimbledon, Djokovic will face the Australian Alexei Popyrin in a match not to be taken lightly. The road is still long for the Serbian, who wants to reconfirm his title at Flushing Meadows after last year’s triumph.

Nole reflected on his next opponent (Popyrin): “He is a great player, has improved a lot, coming off his first Masters win in Canada. He has always had a great serve and forehand, but his backhand and movement have improved significantly. He is much better at defending, more consistent, doesn’t make as many errors as before. I know what to expect. We have played a couple of times, so I’ll do my homework, analyze those matches to see what I need to do.”

Nole must serve better

The Serbian legend has admitted that it is not serving well for now: “I haven’t served too well in my first two matches here; I’m still trying to find the rhythm and timing with my serve. If you don’t have a good first-serve percentage, you have to work for points, especially against someone like Djere, who handles baseline play well from both his forehand and backhand. He is a very solid player, likes to attack, but is also comfortable defending.”

The former world number 1 is still motivated to compete for the most prestigious titles, despite his puzzle being completed after the extraordinary triumph at the Paris Olympics earlier this month. The 24-time Grand Slam champion has fulfilled all his dreams and has reaffirmed that he is one of the greatest athletes of the modern era.

During the latest edition of her podcast, tennis legend Rennae Stubbs paid tribute to Nole: “Do I think he’s going to be up to win the US Open? Absolutely. Because that’s the one record that he still doesn’t have. I tend to think that’s dumb — I don’t think he needs to win another Grand Slam to say, I’m truly the greatest male or female player. He has one thing left and that is the ultimate Grand Slam major record at 25. Because we’ve got the old, you know, move the goalpost Margaret Court at 24, who won like 10 Australian Opens when nobody played. But he wants that record.”

Celebrity MasterChef 2024 star Emma Thynn, the Marchioness of Bath, previously said she would struggle to give advice to Meghan Markle, despite a shared connection between the two.

Both are mixed-race women who have had careers in Hollywood and married into noble British families, although Emma had slightly less success in the industry than Meghan.

Speaking about the Duchess of Sussex Emma told the Mail back in 2019 that she “would never presume to give anyone advice” and that she “hadn’t even met” Meghan.

She added: “I wouldn’t want to compare myself to Meghan, I don’t think it would be appropriate. But I think she is doing well; it is a lovely time in her life.”

Emma also touched on her attempts at establishing an acting career in the USA, which nearly resulted in her landing a role in one of the world’s biggest series.

Launched to great aplomb in March, the enterprise is still reportedly, and unexpectedly, stuttering into life. The struggle to achieve lift-off on the endeavour is said to have left 43-year-old Meghan “in tears” according to royal author Tom Quinn.

Mr Quinn told the Mirror: “The one fly in the ointment is Meghan’s new internet brand, America Riviera Orchard. Meghan was in tears when the brand launched and her new jam was widely mocked for being expensive and nothing special.

“She has reached the point now where she thinks that anything and everything she does will be unfairly criticised. Like her husband, she feels that people are unfairly picking on her – she cannot understand why people don’t admire her work.

“She is especially sensitive about any criticism of her luxurious lifestyle in the US – from her point of view this is something to be admired not criticised.”

While the world of the Royal Family may seem miles apart from that of everyday Britons, there is something that brings the whole country together – silly little nicknames.

Prince Phillip is reported to have called the late Queen Elizabeth II ‘Cabbage’ as well as to have used the name ‘Lilibet’, believed to have been also widely adopted by the late monarch’s parents. The latter nickname inspired Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to name their daughter Lillibet, albeit upon announcing her birth they suggested she would be normally called Lili.

Meanwhile, King Charles and Queen Camilla reportedly used to call one another ‘Fred’ and ‘Gladys’, and Meghan is known to refer to Prince Harry as ‘H’.

Princess Kate, however, may be using the cheekiest nicknames of all, as she reportedly refers to her husband Prince William as ‘Big Willy’.

The pair met while studying at St Andrews University where Prince William picked up the name, which didn’t go unnoticed by Kate.

The Prince and Princess of Wales had a whirlwind romance during their degree, with Kate not missing out on any student rites of passage during her time there.

In her book Kate: The Future Queen, author Katie Nicholl writes that Kate had a “hectic week of partying, meeting her ‘university parents’ – older pupils who were in charge of looking after freshers – finding her way around town and settling into her residence hall”.

She adds: “Kate soon found her way around and was often seen relaxing in the common room, curled up in an armchair, a cup of tea in hand, either reading newspaper articles her father rather touchingly mailed to her or getting to know her fellow hall mates.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have broken free from the constraints of senior Royal life, but that doesn’t mean their journey has been without its bumps.

Since their Royal departure, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have dabbled in a variety of new ventures, including launching a Spotify podcast, producing a Netflix documentary series, and most recently, Meghan’s foray into the luxury lifestyle market with the introduction of American Riviera Orchard. However, this move is reported to have ruffled the feathers of culinary veteran Martha Stewart.

The Duchess unveiled her new lifestyle brand in March, amassing a significant online following on Instagram. Although the brand has yet to hit retail shelves, it promises a broad spectrum of products, encompassing everything from household items and cookware to pet supplies, gardening tools, beverages, food, and condiments.

Martha, a renowned food personality and celebrity chef, is reportedly irked by comparisons to Meghan Markle, finding them “irritating and insulting”, leaving the Duchess feeling a little embarrassed. Initial reports suggested that Meghan could rake in more than six figures in sales in the weeks following the launch of American Riviera Orchard, and she’s already been likened to the likes of Martha – a comparison that has evidently not been well received.

A source confided to In Touch that the esteemed chef is not at all impressed with being paralleled to Meghan saying: “Martha has seen hundreds of Meghan types come and go – and says they all come in with the same self-inflated hype, only to find out it’s a whole new ball game when it comes down to brass tacks. She’s tired of being quizzed by people over how she feels about Meghan’s venture because, honestly, it’s irritating and insulting to her that she’s being compared to a rookie!”

Additionally, the Mirror reports an insider divulged that Martha has dedicated decades to cultivating her empire and “decades building her brand”. They said: “If Meghan thinks she can come along and replicate that with barely any experience simply because she’s married to a prince, she better think again. Martha doesn’t put a whole lot of faith in her succeeding, but if she does prove to be any competition, Martha won’t hold back in trying to take her down.”

Meghan may face significant hurdles with her American Riviera Orchard endeavour due to Royal protocols. Regulations forbid royalty from engaging in promotional activities or brand affiliations, yet Meghan’s new project brazenly displays her Duchess of Sussex title on Instagram, underscored by ‘by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex’.

Djokovic admitted to Kyrgios in a funny way that he wasn’t pleased with his serving against Djere.

Novak Djokovic wasn’t happy with two things after progressing into the US Open third round as the Serb told Nick Kyrgios on the court that he didn’t want the match to end via a Laslo Djere retirement before adding that he also wasn’t pleased with his serve.

On Wednesday evening in New York, Djokovic was 6-4 6-4 2-0 up against fellow Serb Djere when the world No. 109 was forced to retire the match.

When the match started, Djokovic missed out on two break points in the second game and two more in the fourth game. But also, the defending champion saved two break points in the third game and saved another four games later. In the seventh game – with Djere serving to stay in the match – Djokovic stepped up and got the first break of the match to seal the opener.

Early in the second set, Djere saved a break point before earning his first break of the match and ultimately opening a 4-2 lead. But then, Djere started to deal with something and he required a medical timeout – during which he received treatment in the abdominal area.

Unfortunately, Djere’s movement appeared to be impacted – and after Djokovic won six games in a row – the 29-year-old walked up to the net and retired.

“Obviously not how you want to win. He had elbow surgery 6 months ago. To see him back on court playing amazing… How heartbreaking is it to see him having to retire tonight?” Kyrgios asked Djokovic during an on-court interview.

Djokovic responded: “It’s not what we want or what the crowd wants… To see a walkover. He had an injury that took him off the tour for some time and he is struggling to come back physically to his level. He’s such a good player. It should’ve been his 2nd set honestly. He was 4-2 up… I don’t know whether me winning the 2nd set put more burden on him mentally. Overall it was a big fight.”

Djokovic drops a joke while slamming his serve

Against Djere, Djokovic just made 47 percent of his first serve. However, he was at least able to win 79 percent of his first-serve points. Still, the record 24-time Grand Slam champion wasn’t happy that just 42 of 89 first serves he had landed in.

And when making that clear, Djokovic joked that not everyone can have a great serve as Kyrgios does.

“Over 2 hours for 2 sets. I served awful. Playing without a serve, you have to grind and run. Not everyone serves like you. I guess I have to rely on my baseline game,” Djokovic said.

Over the last few years, Djokovic and Kyrgios completely changed their relationship so banters like this between them are nothing new.

Djokovic wary of the Alexei Popyrin challenge

For a place in the second week at the US Open, Djokovic will play against 28th-ranked Popyrin. Heading into the match, Djokovic owns a perfect 3-0 head-to-head.

On paper, it may look like Djokovic dominates Popyrin. But this year, Popyrin twice made Djokovic work hard before the former world No. 1 sealed four-set wins against the 25-year-old at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.

And ahead of their upcoming clash, Djokovic was the first to highlight that Popyrin wasn’t an easy opponent in the past and he also praised the Australian for becoming a Masters champion in Montreal this month.

“Yeah, I’m happy to win four-set another time. Don’t get me wrong. But, you know, he keeps on getting closer and closer, knocking on that door. He’s a really good player. He has improved a lot. He’s won his first Masters in Canada. We always knew he has a big serve and forehand, but I think his backhand and his movement improved a lot,” Djokovic explained.

“So he’s much better defending, and he’s more consistent. He doesn’t make as many errors as he used to. Just overall great improvement from his side. He’s pumped. He’s confident, and he shows that. He’s been playing some great tennis, so no reason for him not to believe that he can put up a great performance, and he’s going to go for the win. I know that.

“But I know what to expect as well. We played, as you said, a couple of times. I’m going to, of course, do my homework, analyze those matches, and see what needs to be done.”

Speaking to listeners, Chief Royal Correspondent Jack Royston warned that revisiting their era of launching complaints and accusations against the monarchy and Britain “could play very badly” for Harry and Meghan if these bombshells simply re-cover old ground.

Meghan responded to a direct question about the negative mental health impact of her time in Britain during her interview with CBS Sunday Morning host Jane Pauley on August 4. The duchess appeared alongside Harry as they launched the new Archewell Foundation Parent’s Network, supporting parents as their children face the dangers and downsides of social media.

The couple have made significant progress and achievements in their philanthropic work since the beginning of 2023, when their popularity in Britain and America plummeted in the wake of the release of their six-part Netflix show and Harry’s memoir, which listed a number of grievances against the monarchy and British media.

After the release of his memoir, the prince said he was not going to be “stuck in the past,” telling broadcaster Tom Bradby that now the book and Netflix show were done “we can focus on looking forward and I’m excited about that.”

Meghan did not initiate the discussion of her past experiences as a working royal in her CBS Sunday Morning interview, but the issue in itself being raised could prove tricky for her to navigate moving forward.

“You know, these comments by Meghan do feel a bit like there could be an appetite among Harry and Meghan for telling at least some elements of this story again,” Royston told Royal Report listeners.

“We know that Meghan did not like being told she couldn’t talk. You know, it was one of the big lines from the Oprah interview, was Oprah saying, ‘Were you silent or where you silenced?’ And she’s talked lots of times about losing her voice when she joined the monarchy and wanting to get her voice back and wanting to be able to talk.

“But honestly, if I was advising Meghan, I would tell her not to revisit this issue.”

Royston suggested that to do so could risk undermining the public support that the couple have been slowly regaining at home and abroad, and that the focus should now be on the important work being done with the Parent’s Network.

“You know, this project about social media and mental health is an area that really genuinely concerns parents right up and down the age range of young kids,” he said.

“It’s a massive issue and I think Harry and Meghan’s focus here needs to be on turning this project towards creating actual solutions and advice and resources for parents, so that they can have some sense that they know what to do when their kids hit that age when they want social media, but are also extremely vulnerable to its darker side.

“If they can get on kind of a positive footing here and have a positive message about making things better, improving the situation for parents, then I think it could be a fantastic project. You know, if they can give parents something they really, truly need, then Americans will thank them for it. And actually, all over the world as well, because this is an issue all over the planet.”

“But,” he added, “If they wind up getting too far into their royal beef and all of that negative history that people have heard before anyway, then they will come out looking like they’ve potentially politicized, certainly if it’s in the context of this project, that they’ve politicized a really important issue that actually deserves to be viewed in a nonpartisan way.”

Fact Check: Did Meghan Markle File $80m Harry Divorce Papers?

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s marriage has been well-documented over the past 12 months with a podcast, a documentary series, and Harry’s autobiography, Spare, offering insight into their celebrity life together.

Details of the couple’s relationship have often been shared alongside the growing distance and separation of Prince Harry from the royal family, the pair sharing much of the fallout publicly.

The gossip circus that has followed them has often invited spurious and misleading claims too, with one suspicious rumor shared on social media this week that Markle had filed divorce papers for an extraordinary sum.

The Claim

A tweet by commentator Ada Lluch, posted on July 11, 2023, and viewed 6.9 million times, claimed that Meghan Markle had “allegedly filed divorce papers asking for $80 million plus the total custody of Archie and Lilibet.”

The tweet read: “Rumors are that Meghan Markle is separating from Harry.

“She took him from his family after she embarrassed the British Royal Family and made his whole nation hate him.

“Now that Harry is broke and lonely because of her, she has allegedly filed divorce papers asking for $80 million plus the total custody of Archie and Lilibet.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been the source of multiple false rumors on social media, which have included Markle lying about her age, and listing herself as “caucasian” on a “babe” site.

This latest claim is no more accurate than some of this other gossip.

Responding to Newsweek, Lluch said her tweet was based on two articles from Spanish news outlet Marca, and entertainment site Showbiz Cheat Sheet.

The Marca article, published on July 2, 2023, titled: “Meghan Markle’s astronomical divorce fee from Prince Harry revealed” mentions the $80 million filing directly, stating: “Adding to all these rumours, the British press is also reporting that Markle has filed a financial demand for 80 million dollars to sign the divorce papers, as well as demanding sole custody of their two children.”

The article makes no reference to any original or immediately verifiable sources, naming only the “British press”. Apart from the fact that it appears no British newspaper or media outlet has made this claim, Prince Harry and Meghan were seen together in public less than two weeks ago, in Santa Barbara, California.

The article by Showbiz Cheat Sheet, published June 8, 2023, discusses the plausibility of divorce rumors but doesn’t mention a divorce filing.

Although the pair have been subject to rumors about the state of their marriage, sources close to the couple have dismissed these claims saying they are “happy together”, reports say.

Karl Larsen, a photographer who launched a YouTube channel with Meghan Markle’s father Thomas, wrote on his Instagram stories earlier this month: “So nice to see my friends Harry and Meghan on Friday before they get away for the long weekend. Please do not believe the media. They are very much in love, and are happy together nothing but smiles and laughter here.”

Whatever the strength of that, the fact remains that there is no credible evidence supporting the notion that Markle has filed an $80 million divorce from Harry.

Prince Harry faces some tough next steps in his stateside media career with Meghan Markle, following the couple’s snubbing by Emmy voters on Thursday, which saw their debut documentary series with Netflix fail to secure a coveted nomination in the category of “Outstanding Documentary Or Nonfiction Series.”

Things looked bright for the Harry & Meghan six-part series which debuted globally on Netflix’s streaming platform on December 8, 2022, becoming the fastest-streamed docuseries on the site despite negative reviews from critics.

The tweet by Ada Lluch was based on two articles, only one of which mentions an $80 million divorce filing, a claim based on completely unsubstantiated sources.

While there have been rumors about the state of the couple’s marriage recently, the $80 million has not been reported by any reputable media outlets. There is no other evidence that suggests this is true.
