Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s ‘leaked’ contract is latest saga in the history of showmances (HG)

The showmance has been thrust into the spotlight this week, after it was revealed that Travis Kelce‘s publicist, Jack Ketosyan, had admitted to staging career-boosting faux romances for his celebrity clients before.

Kelce has furiously denied his relationship with global pop star Taylor Swift is a scam after a ‘leaked’ document revealed a strategy to announce a potential split.

While the ‘contract’ is said to be ‘entirely false and fabricated’, Ketosyan has been candid previously about the power of a fake romance, and has even admitted to staging them himself.

Featuring in an Australian podcast for Mamamia’s The Quicky in 2019, the publicist said showmances are generally put together if one has a film or something to promote or to distract from unappealing publicity like a project flop.

While Travis Kelce firmly denied this week that there was a contract which laid out how he and girlfriend Taylor Swift might reveal a split, Hollywood showmances have been happening since the film industry began (Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce pictured in February)

The ‘leaked’ document that’s caused a furore – and an angry denial from Travis Kelce. The alleged ‘contract’ is entitled ‘Comprehensive Media Plan for Travis Kelce’s Public Relations Following Breakup With Taylor Swift’ Right: Travis’ publicist Jack Ketosyan has admitted to setting up showmances before – even revealing how you can spot if a relationship has been staged

He admitted to staging at least two relationships during his career, having used them as a tool to distract the public from negative headlines.

While he didn’t name names, the Hollywood insider said that it’s not uncommon for stars to sign a ‘love contract’, which requires them to ‘date’ for at least a year.

For celebrity power players such as Ketosyan, who carefully craft the deals that earn both their star clients and themselves millions, the right image remains everything – and it’s a lesson Hollywood learned early on.

Delve deeper into the film industry’s archives and you’ll find the origins of the showmance in 1920s Hollywood, when anxious agents knew reputation protection was crucial.

Being anything other than heterosexual – and, ideally, married with a couple of cute kids – could be career suicide for those in the spotlight.

Studios demanded a wholesome image with extra-marital affairs and same-sex dalliances firmly on the banned list for the biggest stars.

If that meant celebrity puppet masters had to create what we now call a showmance, essentially a sham union, then agents would happily do it, with some relationships going all the way to the altar – often referred to as a ‘lavender marriage’.

Here, MailOnline looks at some of the more famous showmances in Hollywood history…

Silent films, icy marriage! When Rudolph Valentino wed Jean Acker

Actress Jean Acker married silent movie star Rudolph Valentino in 1919...but rumours about Acker's sexuality swirled after she locked him out of the couple's hotel room on their wedding night - and they split weeks later

The first bonafide showmance? Silent film star Rudolph Valentino and actress Jean Acker wed in 1919…but rumours about Acker’s sexuality seemed founded when the couple split weeks after walking down the aisle.

The new bride reportedly locking her Italian husband nicknamed ‘The Latin Lover’ out of the marital bedroom on their first night of marriage.

Indeed, she was later rumoured to have had an affair with actress Alla Nazimova, who ran Hollywood’s glamorous Garden of Alla Hotel.

Acker was said to be part of the 'sewing circles' in Hollywood, a euphemism for lesbian women socialising in Los Angeles in the early twenties

Nazimova was known to be bisexual and rumours abounded that she and fellow actresses were part of ‘sewing circles,’ a euphemism used at the time for lesbian women.

Meanwhile Valentino, whose sex appeal was such that when he died aged just 31 in 1926 – from complications relating to pleurisy, some of his more committed female fans responded to the news by killing themselves.

An obituary at the time of his death described him as being ‘ to American flappers generally almost what the Prince of Wales is to the English’.

A 26-year affair: How Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy fooled fans

In the Forties, Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy were the perfect couple on screen – they met on the set of Woman of the Year in 1942 and went on to star in nine films together, including Guess who’s Coming to Dinner and State of the Union.

However when the passion ignited between the idols behind the scenes too, they would embark on a secret affair that would span 26 years and see Hepburn take on the biggest role of her life, as a long-term mistress.

Tracy was already married, to wife Louise, and the couple shared two children John and Susie, an their union remained in place until the day he died, so anxious was the star not to be portrayed as an adulterer. A devout Roman Catholic, divorce was never an option.

An open secret for decades in Hollywood but Spencer Tracy's affair with Katharine Hepburn was never made public, with Tracy remaining wed to his wife Louise until his death

An open secret for decades in Hollywood but Spencer Tracy’s affair with Katharine Hepburn was never made public, with Tracy remaining wed to his wife Louise until his death

Hepburn was an independent woman who turned down countless proposals of marriage, yet she candidly admitted that she was the submissive partner in her relationship with Tracy.

It wasn’t an obvious match: in high heels, the 5ft 7in actress was taller than Tracy, and their initial relationship was prickly. But over the course of the filming they fell in love – a love such as Hepburn had not before experienced.

‘I met him and I quivered like Jell-O,’ she remembers. ‘I think without romance, deeply felt, my life would have been incomplete. There would have been an emptiness in me.’ And this despite – or perhaps because – Spencer never said ‘I love you’.

‘I would have done anything for Spence,’ Hepburn concludes. ‘Why? It was a mystery to me.’

Their relationship had been an open secret in Hollywood for decades but some believed there was another reason they found solace in each other, both were hiding their sexualities. Tracy’s depression and addiction to drink was often put down to his harbouring a secret.

And Hepburn certainly had a similar label suggested for her, with reputed affairs with women through the years.

A 2018 documentary Secret History of Hollywood saw Scotty Bowers, a former escort to the stars, claiming the pair were simply good friends.

Whatever their relationship was, it endured; when Tracy died Hepburn drove close to where his funeral took place, but let the real Mrs Tracy keep up public appearances at his graveside.

The ‘Lavender marriage’ that kept Rock Hudson’s secret gay life under wraps

In the 50s, the ‘lavender marriage’ became a popular options for publicists looking to keep their star talent in the closet.

It seemed like the perfect solution for screen heartthrob Rock Hudson, who was best known for starring alongside Elizabeth Taylor in Giant (1956) and Doris Day in Pillow Talk (1959).

The star, who died aged 59 in 1985 just months after his publicist stunned the world by revealing he’d been diagnosed with AIDS, had the steamiest of double lives, with a string of handsome, often younger men, attending to his sexual desires.

Rock Hudson and Phyllis Gates married in 1955 to silence whispers about the reasons behind Hudson’s reluctance to marry. And that, of course, was the point of the union – reportedly arranged by his agent, Henry Willson, to conceal Hudson’s secret: his homosexuality

However, in public, his image saw him billed as an all American Conservative who was the epitome of heterosexual masculinity.

His strapping frame and strong-jawed good looks perfectly suited a post-war demand for leading men who reflected the rugged soldiers that had dominated wartime propaganda and his agent, the ‘predatory’ Henry Wilson’ embarked upon staging a sham union to ensure nothing jeopardised his career.

When the ‘Baron of Beefcake’ married Phyllis Gates at the Biltmore Hotel in Santa Barbara in 1955, he finally silenced those who’d asked when the world’s biggest film star – and seemingly most determined bachelor boy – would finally settle down with a good woman.

The modest ceremony took place only eight days before Hudson’s 30th birthday and the pair honeymooned in the Caribbean before moving into a cottage just off LA’s desirable Sunset Strip.

Three years after they wed, they got divorced, with Gates – reportedly being lesbian or bisexual herself – later claiming that she’d known nothing of Hudson’s true sexuality.

How to get even more famous: Michael Jackson and Madonna’s ‘tongue-in-mouth kissing’ Oscars date

The showmance is a dish best served hyped, as Madonna and Michael Jackson proved perfectly when they dates at the Oscars in 1991

The blueprint for a showmance is one that has been turned to in more recent decades too.

When Madonna and Michael Jackson – then the Queen and King of Pop – attended the Oscars together in March 1991, the hype potential appeared delicious to both of them.

Madonna was in her Marilyn Monroe phase – complete with décolletage, diamonds and white fur and Jackson was in diamonds too; it was PR alchemy and made the pair even hotter property than they already were.

Hard to believe? Despite Madonna's claims that the couple had left an after party to enjoy some quality time together, most fans saw through Madonna and Michael Jackson's faux romance

Hard to believe? Despite Madonna’s claims that the couple had left an after party to enjoy some quality time together, most fans saw through Madonna and Michael Jackson’s faux romance

Madonna described it as the best date she’d ever had, and their showmance certainly distracted from her appearance in Dick Tracy, which had mixed reviews, although she went on to scoop an Oscar for Stephen Sondheim’s ‘Sooner or Later’ song from the detective film.

The star, 66, and Michael, who died in 2009 at the age of 50, went to the after-party arm in arm, and later revealed they partook in ‘tongue-in-mouth kissing’.

She told James Corden in 2016 that she guided the action with the late King of Pop, saying she ‘loosened up Michael Jackson with a glass of Chardonnay’ and then French kissed him.

She added that she made the first move too, saying: ‘Baby, I’ve been around’.

The stars who’ve opened up about being one half of a showmance

Nick Lachey accused Kim Kardashian of using him to launch her career, with Kim confessing that interest in her was sparked after they went on a date in 2006 (pictured in 2009)

While most celebrities are obviously reluctant to say they’ve faked a relationship, some have been forthcoming in their deception.

Steve-O previously claimed his ‘fling’ with Nicole Richie in 2006 was just for publicity.

The Jackass star told The Howard Stern Show: ‘The truth is she wanted some publicity for something other than being skinny.

‘It was a big publicity stunt. She would come pick me up – I don’t drive – I think she called the paparazzi too. These motherf**kers were coming from all directions.’

Nick Lachey accused Kim Kardashian of using him to launch her career, with Kim herself confessing that interest in her was sparked after they went on a single date in 2006.

When asked whether tabloid pictures of the pair marked the start of Kim’s career, the singer said: ‘That’s one way to interpret it. Let’s just say this: We went to a movie. No one followed us there.

‘Somehow, mysteriously, when we left, there were 30 photographers waiting outside.’

Kim’s stepbrother Brody Jenner was also caught up in a showmance, admitting he faked his relationship with Lauren Conrad on The Hills.

Brody confessed: ‘We never actually dated. In the beginning, we had a little kind of chemistry, and we hung out, and I think it played pretty well on screen. I think that they, the producers, really wanted us to keep that going, even though we just wanted to be friends.

‘But she’s great. We had a great time. It was so easy to work with her. It was so easy to film scenes with her and do stuff and act like we were [together], because we really did enjoy each other’s company. We really liked each other, just not in that romantic way.’

YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul has form with fake romances – pretending to get married not once but twice for publicity.

In 2017 he filmed himself ‘marrying’ fellow vlogger Erika Costell in Las Vegas and released a series of married life vlogs.

Yet just three months later, Jake confessed it was all a sham, admitting: ‘We’re not even actually dating. It’s like the WWE. People know that’s fake, and it’s one of the biggest things of entertainment.’

Two years later, Jake pulled the same stunt with another YouTuber, ‘marrying’ Tana Mongeau in Vegas.

He later confessed: ‘We all do things sometimes. And sometimes you end up getting fake married. So I’ll leave it at that.’

Sometimes, just being romantically linked to a star is enough to do the trick.

When Rihanna was still a rising star, rumours circulated that she was having an affair with her protégé Jay Z.

While this turned out to be false, it’s said to have caused the rapper to separate from wife Beyonce for a year.

When reports of the split surfaced, Rihanna’s former publicist was forced to issue a public apology and admitted he had started the rumour himself.

‘The pr stunt that I did was out of desperation to help break Pon de Replay,’ he said in his statement. ‘It was reckless and I didn’t think it was going to work. I was just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what would stick.’

Not everyone agrees to a showmance, however.

Pageant queen Amy Willerton previously claimed that TOWIE star Joey Essex asked her to have a fake relationship with him while they were contestants on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2013.

She revealed: ‘To be honest that was a horrible experience. If someone says to you, “Hey, let’s be in a fake relationship!” You’re like, “No, that’s not what I want!” I didn’t even know that kind of thing went on.’

The subject of fake relationships has come up again as Travis and Taylor fans question their romance.

On Tuesday, Travis’ representatives were forced to deny that they have plans to split later this month after a document written on the headed paper of his US PR company was spread online.

The paperwork which appears to have been created by Los Angeles-based firm Full Scope, reveals a strategy to make their split, and says the date for an announcement is September 28.

It also outlines a supposed plan to release an official statement at the end of this month – three days ‘post-break up’ to ‘allow the initial media frenzy to settle and ensure clarity’.

It adds that the announcement will be ‘gracious, respectful and stress mutual respect.

Laying out what the statement would say, they write: ‘Example: Travis and Taylor have decided to part ways after careful consideration. They both value and respect each other’s personal lives and appreciate your respect for privacy during this time.

‘They are both committed to their careers and personal growth. They remain friends and wish each other the best.’

The paperwork also states that the announcement would focus on Travis’ ‘personal growth’ by framing the breakup as a ‘natural part of life.’ It also will highlight his commitment to his career and his ongoing achievements in the sports industry.’

They also plan to send it to major media outlets with a press release to ensure ‘broad coverage.’

However, a spokesman for Full Scope insisted that they were ‘entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued or authorised by this agency’.

The representative also said they have called in lawyers – though they are not expected to find the culprit.

‘We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents,’ they said.

Not all fans believe the statement – which was first shared on Reddit.

One follower of the social media platform pointed out that it ‘reads like a high school assignment’ while another said it appeared to look like it had been created by ‘chat gtp.’

Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for Taylor didn’t respond when asked if she wanted to comment on the split.

Taylor and Tom Hiddleston were accused of being in a ‘showmance’ to avert attention away from her breakup with Calvin Harris back in 2016.

They dated briefly, for around three months, before calling it quits in September 2016.

After months of speculation, the pair went ‘public’ with their romance on September 24 last year when Taylor took Travis’ invitation to watch him play for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Love Story star was photographed in the stands with his mother and sources revealed later that it was her first time meeting his family, and it ‘went well.’

Afterwards, the pair were filmed leaving the game, marking the first video of them together.

Haines acted out what it’s like to feel the impact of the sleep medication from her seat at the Hot Topics table.

Famed View collapser Whoopi Goldberg has seemingly transferred the power (and, frankly, art) of going limp at the Hot Topics table to cohost Sara Haines.

Haines sunk into her chair on Wednesday’s episode of the talk show, after Goldberg introduced a discussion about an ethical dilemma involving a woman who secretly puts melatonin — an over-the-counter hormone often used to treat sleep issues — into her husband’s water bottle to help treat his mental health issues.

“Melatonin does not treat being manic, this is the wrong drug for a certain issue,” conservative cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin said, before Haines cut in to set a specific scene: “Fast-forward to her husband at work,” Haines said, before she fell to the side in her chair as the audience laughed.”

“You shouldn’t operate a car, you shouldn’t commute somewhere on melatonin,” Griffin continued, before comedian Joy Behar joked that the woman’s husband was “an airline pilot.”

Goldberg popularized the craft of collapsing at the Hot Topics table several times in the recent past, including on the April 10 episode after cohost Ana Navarro name-dropped yet another one of her famous friends.

“I have an ongoing game of Words With Friends on my iPad with Martina Navratilova,” Navarro said at the time, prompting Goldberg’s eyes to shoot skyward following her fellow panelist’s latest mention of a celebrity pal, after discussing friendships with the likes of Gloria Estefan, Eva Longoria, and more.

Goldberg’s fake collapse in April marked the third time the Oscar-winning Ghost actress has performed the bit at the Hot Topics table in the last year. She first fell to the table in November 2023, and then did it again in January 2024.

MTV VMAs: 'NSync Reunites During Justin Timberlake's 'Epic' Vanguard Performance

Justin Timberlake seems to be saying bye, bye, bye to *NSYNC reunion tour talks — ’cause he’s the odd man out in terms of who’s willing to talk about it … TMZ has learned.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … Justin and his team have yet to address respective proposals for a possible *NSYNC stadium tour next summer — this despite the fact Lance BassChris KirkpatrickJoey Fatone and JC Chasez have all responded with interest after different promoters made their pitches 4 months ago.

In other words … JT is the only one who hasn’t engaged in these convos — and we’re told the other guys are disappointed with Justin’s radio silence.

The reason … our sources say the rest of the *NSYNC guys feel the past year was a tease to the band’s fans that something big was coming — and a 2025 tour would coincide with the band’s 25th anniversary … perfect timing in their mind.

We’re told Sony was also hoping for a big push on the 25th anniversary for the sake of the band’s old catalog. As we reported, the band has major music labels poking around to produce a new single or album.

Remember … the *NSYNC guys have shown up for JT a lot over the past year — all in an effort to supplement/promote his projects, but from their POV … the favor ain’t being returned.

Sources close to JT tell us the reason he’s not engaging in talks with promoters about a possible *NSYNC stadium tour is because he’s solely focused on his nearly sold-out world tour right now, and he’s simply busy.

Still, an *NSYNC reunion could still happen. Our sources tell us Lance coordinated a meeting between Chris, Joey, and JC Monday in NYC to discuss the future of the band, and what it potentially looks like if they go forward without JT … should he opt out of this opportunity.

We’re told overtures were made to Justin to attend today; however, our JT sources say he couldn’t be in NYC because he’s in Europe getting ready for his show in Poland later this week.

Keep in mind, JT’s got some legal issues to deal with right now — so he might have bigger fish to fry than an *NSYNC reunion. All depends on how you look at it, we suppose.

THE View’s expensive new set was unveiled during the Season 28 premiere, with one specific detail causing a stir among the hosts.

The cups had their faces on them, along with quintessentially New York details, which sparked hilarious comparisons to rather unsavory objects from Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, and Sunny Hostin.

“Let’s talk about his new mug,” Whoopi, 68, said, before Sara Haines added, “This might be my favorite one, it’s all like New York-themed.”

The mugs are decorated with New York icons such as a red apple, a Broadway sign, the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building, a pretzel, and a sign for Fifth Avenue.

Examining her mug, Joy quipped that the soft pretzel next to her illustration reminded her of an IUD.

Reacting to the drawing of a styrofoam coffee cup near her face, Sunny, 55, wondered, “Is that a…is that a garbage next to me?”

Her co-hosts erupted in laughter as Sara clarified, “It’s coffee!”

“I love how they expect us to focus when they put all new things in front of us,” she continued while examining her own mug.

Sara was using a single mug during the season premiere episode that was aired on September 3, after long-term fans of The View questioned why she’s often spotted with more than one cup.

Sunny finally explained why her co-host needs multiple mugs during an appearance on Andy Cohen’s podcast, SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, last May.

“You revealed on Watch What Happens Live, I asked you who passes gas the most out of everyone there, and you said Whoopi, and it got picked up everywhere,” Andy said.

“She didn’t like it!” Sunny admitted.

“It was rapid fire. You know, I think the way this thing started is, Sara drinks too much water on set. She has a weak bladder.”

Sunny continued: “And so, she’s constantly with two and three mugs – one has seltzer water, one has hot lemon water, the other has room temperature water.

“I really don’t understand her water process, but she kept moving them across the table and it made this farting noise.”

“And Whoopi, in an effort to cover that up, we have coasters now, went, ‘Sorry y’all, that was me,’” she explained.

“And I just took her at her word. I didn’t know it was Sara with all of her waters.

“She should only have one cup of water anyway. We all have one cup, but Sara has three.”

    THE NEW VIEW

Fans were treated to a whole new view of the set during the season premiere episode, including a brand new brown and tan color theme.

The set was previously done up in blue and white accents.

The newly revamped set also featured big windows that border a stylized image of New York City’s famous skyline.

The 28th season also kicked off with a brand new theme song called This Version, performed by British singer-songwriter Leona Lewis (best known for Bleeding Love) and written by Diane Warren.

The past theme song was For My Girls by Brandy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Mary J. Blige, which debuted in Season 20.

Fans of The View got a big surprise when they tuned in for the premiere on September 3. Some changes were implemented on the daytime talk show, including a dramatic new look and a brand new theme song. Even the hosts said the changes will take some getting used to.

The View Season 28 opening included a tour of their snazzy new studio in the Walt Disney Company’s Manhattan headquarters in Hudson Square. “New digs, new season, new View,” Whoopi Goldberg announced from an elevated perch, holding a glass of champagne.

The show teased “an entire day of Hot Topics,” including “the wild twists and turns of the race to the White House.” There was plenty of ground to cover for their first day back!

Who Sings The View‘s New Theme Song?

Then the opening credits introduced the co-hosts as a new theme song played. “Now, let’s get things started,” the voiceover announced and the ladies entered and took a seat at the table.

Whoopi Goldberg got down to business, welcoming everyone to The View. “We are kicking off Season 28 in a brand new studio,” she said. “People have been working hard all summer long with the brand new opening and the brand new theme song called ‘This Version,’ performed by Leona Lewis and written by the all-time fabulous and brilliant Grammy Award-winning Diane Warren.”

The new song replaces The View’s previous theme song titled “For My Girls,” performed by Brandy Norwood and Nicole Scherzinger.

During the live show, there was a moment of confusion as Goldberg pointed out that executive producer Brian Teta is now closer to the table.

“Brian is on a much different plane now. He’s much closer! And you all are closer [she motioned to the audience]. It’s quite something,” Goldberg said. “We have to talk about the fact that we’re in a brand new space because it’s very different. And it’s a big change for us, too, because when I came, the set was vastly different, we were on a big old thing, and now we’re on even space, we’re all on the same plane, which is kind of great.”

She added, “So we’re still looking around too.”

Teta told People that The View table is the only thing that remains from the previous set. “We kept the table, because that was new last year, and that remains the centerpiece as always,” he explained. “But at the same time, everything around it is new and modern and sleek. It makes it familiar to what people like about The View, but also elevates it to the next level.”

The View fans discussed the changes in a Reddit thread, with many remarking how much they like the studio and color palette. “The new set looked very nice,” one person commented. “I’m so glad that former theme music is gone. I never liked it.”

Another fan noted that perhaps the set is a bit busy. “Even when they blur the background focusing on the hosts, I found all the stuff going on to be too distracting,” they explained.

They added, “I’d put in a drop ceiling and try to reduce the number of visual elements. The colors are fine… it’s very specific for a show that will be on day after day. Not exactly neutral. But I don’t mind them. Just too much space, and too much of everything.”

Travis Kelce’s publicist is the master of the showmance! PR admitted helping celebs fake affairs to boost their careers and even wrote a book about it – as NFL star’s ‘contract’ with Taylor Swift leaks (HG)

When Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s relationship was unveiled last year it came as a shock to fans.

Some questioned what had brought together the bad boy of the NFL world and the  squeaky clean pop star – who was herself on the rebound from a short-lived fling with musician Matty Healy.

Yet over the months, as pictures emerged of Travis swapping friendship bracelets at the Eras tour and Taylor rushing onto the field at the Super Bowl, the pair were presented as your stereotypical jock and head cheerleader couple – albeit on a greater stage.

Now, however, doubts have been cast once more over the validity of their romance, with Travis forced to furiously deny his relationship with Taylor is a scam after a ‘leaked’ document revealed a strategy to announce their split.

Yet while this contract is said to be ‘entirely false and fabricated’, Travis’ publicist  Jack Ketosyan has admitted to setting up showmances before – even revealing how you can spot if a relationship has been staged.

Featuring in an Australian podcast for Mamamia’s The Quicky in 2019, Jack said the fake romances are generally put together if a celebrity has a film or new project to promote or to distract from bad publicity that comes with a flop or scandal.

He admitted to staging at least two relationships during his career, having used them as a tool to distract the public from negative headlines.

While he didn’t name names, the Hollywood insider said that it’s not uncommon for stars to sign a ‘love contract’, which requires them to ‘date’ for at least a year.

In the celebrity world, it’s out with the dating apps and in with the lawyers, publicists and accountants.

Jack explained that fake relationships were once used to cover up the fact a popular actor was gay, but now it’s all about generating buzz.

‘It’s to be able to sell the hype of it – whether a concert, album… or getting people to go to see the movie, it all about the hype at the moment,’ he explained.

He claimed that one minor female star got a ‘career boost’ out of such an arrangement and is now a ‘household name’ thanks to her year-long relationship with an actor.

‘It was more of a mutual agreement between the agents,’ he recalled. ‘We had a male who actually had a movie coming out and it was getting a lot of bad reviews and slack and they wanted to take the negativity of the movie away and make it more about him.

‘We found him a girl, a one year deal, he finished off the press and a little bit after that they went their separate ways. She did not want to do a two-year deal.’

He went on to say the ‘main clue’ for spotting a faked romance is when a lesser-known star becomes ‘the most talked-about girl in Hollywood’ overnight thanks to her relationship.

Jack has not only given an interview about setting up showmances, but has written a novel based on his real experiences too.

In 2018 he released Guilty Pleasure – a novel about a PR romance.

The synopsis reads: ‘As three young Hollywood professionals strive to keep the industry’s most salacious scandals under wraps during awards season, Nicola faces her biggest challenge as a publicist when she is forced to represent her superstar ex-boyfriend, Seamus, when he returns from rehab.

‘Her boss Gaynor is struggling to keep the PR agency afloat, and Seamus is one client who definitely won’t leave as long as Nicola is around.

‘He’s willing to do anything to win her back—even start a fake relationship for some badly needed good publicity.’

Goldberg admitted that she doesn’t know what cornhole is.

Sara Haines wasted no time probing Whoopi Goldberg’s prowess on lawn games, as she stunned The View moderator by simply saying the title of her beloved cornhole on the show’s Tuesday season 28 premiere.

Haines filled her fellow panelists in on how she spent her month-long summer hiatus, and brought up cornhole while reminiscing about a Hilton Head vacation with her family.

“My mom is turning 80 in October, so we went as a family together. My parents, siblings, their partners, the kids,” Haines said. “When we get together, it’s the whole reason I wanted to have a family was because my original family was so blissful, that I thought, ‘How do we make this last forever?’ By just procreating, and that’s what we did.”

She then told her cohosts “it was a lot of cornhole” during their downtime, prompting Goldberg to physically recoil in shock over Haines’ decision to use the word shortly after saying “procreating.”

Haines reiterated that her family had a “cornhole tournament for days,” leading Goldberg to urge her to “explain cornhole” — and quickly.

“I know cornhole, but it just sounded a little sexual,” Alyssa Farah Griffin said, confirming what everyone else was thinking.

“It’s bean bags into wood with a hole, and you can really throw down with all ages of people. My dad is 82 and he beats us every time,” Haines continued. Goldberg, still too stunned to speak, attempted to throw the show to commercial while shifting both her face and her body in her seat.

Sensing Goldberg’s discomfort, Haines leaned over and quipped, “Not that cornhole,” before Goldberg looked toward the camera and said, “We’re going to be right back. Oh my God, cornhole!”

The exchange happened atop The View‘s brand new set, which also debuted as part of the show’s season 28 premiere. Goldberg welcomed the audience back to the show at the start of the live broadcast by standing on a large platform off to the side of the studio, holding a champagne glass in the air as she toasted to new episodes ahead.

Amid the show’s break throughout August, its cohosts made headlines on their own — including Griffin speculating on social media about how Taylor Swift could assist Kamala Harris in winning the election, while Ana Navarro hosted the second night of the Democratic National Convention in August, after she harshly criticized conservative pundit Ann Coulter for mocking Walz’s son, who has a learning disorder, for his heartwarming enthusiasm in supporting his dad at the Chicago event.

During Indiana’s 100-81 victory the Chicago Sky on Friday, Clark scored a career-high 31 points, with 12 assists and 4 rebounds. While the No. 1 overall pick has already broken the WNBA’s rookie record for threes and assists in a single season, and tied the record for most threes in a single game (7), she broke a new franchise record against the Wings.

During the first half at College Park Center in Texas, Clark scored her 595th point, surpassing Tamika Catchings for most rookie points in a season in franchise history.

The 22-year-old, who was recently named Eastern Conference Player of the Week, seems to break a new record in every game. Before the Olympic break, Clark became the first rookie in league history to score a triple-double and set the WNBA record for most assists in one game (19).

While personal stats are great, Clark’s main focus is stacking wins in order to bring Indiana their first playoff berth since 2016.

After starting the season 1-8, the Fever enter their matchup against the Wings sitting in sixth place with a 16-16 record. With a victory over Dallas on Sunday, Indiana will be over. 500 for the first time this season.

After spending the past week teasing a new album, Justin Timberlake returned to the stage Friday with a small hometown gig in Memphis, where the singer debuted a new song called “Selfish.”

The track — not to be confused with “Selfish” by Timberlake’s former group NSync — is believed to be the first single from the upcoming album Everything I Thought It Was, which Timberlake had been teasing over social media the week prior to the “One Night Only” Orpheum Theater gig.

Following the show, Timberlake formally announced the album with a teaser trailer narrated by actor Benicio Del Toro. In the 30-second clip, Timberlake is shown standing back to the camera above a model of a gas station alone in the desert, with a painted sunset off in the distance. “What the fuck is he staring at?,” Del Toro wonders in his voiceover.

Timberlake also shared a short snippet of the studio version of “Selfish” on his TikTok account:

The full version of “Selfish” — and likely more details about Everything I Thought It Was — will presumably emerge in the coming week as Timberlake is booked to appear on both The Tonight Show on Thursday ahead of his return to Saturday Night Live two days later.

Timberlake last released his Man of the Woods back in February 2018; the nearly six-year wait between albums marks the longest in the singer’s career since the seven-year gap between 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds and 2013’s The 20/20 Experience.

  • ‘The View’s Joy Behar Dubs Donald Trump A “Marxist” For Promising Government-Funded IVF: “That’s Called Socialism”

‘The View’s Joy Behar Dubs Donald Trump A “Marxist” For Promising Government-Funded IVF: “That’s Called Socialism”

After a month-long hiatus, The View returned today with a brand new live episode — and there was certainly a lot to catch up on, especially in politics.

During the second Hot Topics segment of the episode, the ladies weighed in on former president Donald Trump‘s latest promise that all costs associated with IVF treatment would either be covered by his administration or insurance companies.

However, Joy Behar was quick to remind the Republican nominee that having the government pay for medical care falls under his party’s definition of Socialism.

“My favorite thing is this IVF position, because what he said was the insurance company should pay for it all of the sudden. They were against it, they’re for it now — even though J.D. Vance is against it. [He] voted against it,” Behar said.

She continued, “Do you know how much it costs? $40,000 is a typical IVF procedure. And the government will pay it if the insurance companies won’t. That’s their idea of what? That’s called Socialism, according to their definition of Socialism. So Donald Trump is a Marxist.”

Alyssa Farah Griffin, who worked under Trump’s administration but has since spoken out against her former boss, agreed with Behar.

“I was working on Capitol Hill during Obamacare and I’m old enough to remember when Republicans opposed insurance mandates from the government … He’s not talking about how to pay for it,” she said, before later adding, “He’s thinking voters are gonna not pay attention and they’re gonna want the free thing. There’s no way for him to do it.”
    'The View'Photo: ABC
Griffin also revealed why she “lost [her] mind” when Trump recently said women should have access to abortion for longer than six weeks.

“He wouldn’t have won a Republican primary if he ran saying six weeks was too short, you need to have access to abortion longer,” she said.

Sunny Hostin, for her part, did not believe voters would forget that Trump played a big part in the overturning of Roe v. Wade, which ruled that the Constitution of the United States protected the right to an abortion.

“Who is going to forget that he is directly responsible for packing the Supreme Court with Conservative justices and bragged about it and he is directly responsible for the Dobbs decision, which took away women’s reproductive health rights in over 30 states?” she said. “Who is going to forget that?”
