 Meghan Markle  and  Prince Harry  hosted an evening of art last month. The special event was held in honor of The Kinsey African American Art and History Collection at the Kinsey Collection Exhibition at Sofi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The evening was brought together through a partnership between The Archewell Foundation and The Bernard and Shirley Kinsey Foundation for Art and Education, according to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s website.

The event on March 21 included a private tour of the exhibit, as well as a conversation with Bernard, Shirley and Khalil Kinsey that was moderated by the Director of Frieze Los Angeles and Frieze New York, Christine Messineo. Per the Sussexes’ website, “The group discussed the history and significance of Black art and how our communities can work together to preserve this vital piece of American history.”

Images shared by the Sussexes’ website and by The Kinsey Collection’s Instagram on April 2 showed Meghan, who wore a floral embroidered cape said to be by Carolina Herrera, and Harry with other attendees. Among the guests were the Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland and Beyoncé’s mom Tina Knowles, who both posed for a picture together.

Back in September, Doria accompanied Meghan and Harry to Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour show at SoFi Stadium. The Duke and Duchess have previously met the Grammy winner. In 2019, the royal couple met Beyoncé and her husband JAY-Z at the London premiere of The Lion King. Meghan revealed on Netflix’s Harry & Meghan series that the superstar texted to check in the day after her and Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey aired.

Meghan admitted on the docuseries that she “still can’t believe” Beyoncé knows who she is. While Harry suggested that Meghan call the singer, the Duchess said, “No, it’s okay. She said she wants me to feel safe and protected. She admires and respects my bravery and vulnerability and thinks I was selected to break generational curses that need to be healed.”

“That’s well said,” Prince Harry replied.

Dancing with the Stars season 33 may have its wildest cast yet: a diverse list ranging from Olympians, athletes, actors, models, reality stars, and in the case of Anna Delvey, convicted felons. In the promotional image for the show, the con artist, whose real name is Anna Sorokin, happily posed with the ankle monitor worn since October 2022 when she started her house arrest.

Delvey’s casting, who is currently in a legal battle fighting deportation back to her native country of Germany, has sparked debate online about whether she should be a part of the show. But it’s clear ABC has welcomed her with open arms, describing her as an “artist, fashion icon and infamous NYC socialite.”

“Some view her as a cunning scam artist, while others see her as a charismatic and ambitious entrepreneur who took advantage of New York City’s social elite in an effort to open a prestigious art studio,” they wrote in a news release.

What’s interesting is the question of how Delvey is filming the show, which shoots in Los Angeles, while on house arrest in New York. Per the Associated Press, her spokesperson, Juda Engelmayer, confirmed Tuesday that she could travel within 70 miles (112 kilometers) of her home base and anywhere in the five boroughs of New York City under previous house arrest conditions. But they did not comment on any changes.

The outlet notes that while under house arrest, she had to abide by the immigration judge’s condition that she does not use social media. But she became active again on Instagram, where she has 1.1 million followers, on August 14. She’s posted paid partnerships, digital magazine covers, promotions for the show, and more.

Anna Delvey’s story

Delvey gained international attention after Netflix purchased the rights to her story and developed it into the 2022 hit miniseries Inventing Anna. She was convicted of 8 felonies on April 11, 2019, when a jury found her guilty of two counts of grand larceny, three counts of theft of services, one count of attempted grand larceny, one count of grand larceny in the third degree, and one count of theft of services in the first degree.

The convictions stemmed from her elaborate scheme between 2013-2017, defrauding banks, hotels, and individuals by pretending to be a wealthy socialite and German heiress in New York. During her prosecution, it was estimated that she stole around $275,000, per People. In May 2019, she was sentenced to 4 to 12 years in state prison, fined $24,000, and ordered to pay restitution of about $199,000.

After serving almost four years, Delvey was released early in 2021 for good behavior but was immediately detained by immigration for overstaying her visa. She was in ICE custody for over a year before a judge allowed her to switch to house arrest in October 2022 while she fought the deportation case.

“So many people became famous for bad things and were able to kind of segue it into something different,” she said in a June 2023 interview with The Associated Press- an idea she is making come true. Despite being on house arrest, she started her podcast, The Anna Delvey Show, in 2023, which had nine episodes, inviting guests like Whitney Cummings to join her in New York.

Tennis gem Jannik Sinner doubled up at the US Open after his second Grand Slam title boosted his bank balance considerably.

A second Grand Slam title of 2024 has increased Jannik Sinner’s stock after he beat Taylor Fritz to clinch the US Open crown on Sunday. The decider proved to be somewhat one-sided in the end as Sinner soared to a 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 victory, adding the New York major to his growing collection.

Expectations were high for the world No.1 at Flushing Meadows after he sealed his maiden major at this year’s Australian Open before reaching the French Open’s last four. However, some may have been surprised at just how routine he made things look after dropping just two of 23 sets played en route to the title.

And to the victor goes the spoils as the 23-year-old added another £2.7million ($3.6m) payday to his list of achievements. The newly crowned US Open champion has now earned more money than any other player on the ATP Tour in 2024, overtaking Carlos Alcaraz in the last major tournament of the year.

That pay cheque will also plump up Sinner’s net worth nicely following the biggest win of his career to date. His US Open winnings dwarf his Australian Open prize money by almost £1m and boost his overall wealth to around £14m ($18.5m).

That’s after accounting for the percentage he’ll have to pay in New York taxes before taking his own cut of the US Open grand prize. Sinner will also have coaches and other expenses to pay, so an approximate final take of £2m or so seems conservative enough.

Tennis players are required to pay tax on earnings in the country (and/or state) in which they won the money. That’s why winnings don’t contribute as significantly to an athlete’s net worth as one might expect.

The icon-in-the-making will have one more major opportunity to win big this year when the ATP Finals take place in Turin in November. And the £1.7m ($2.2m) grand prize on offer in his home country would be one heck of a way to sign off the best year of his career to date.

Having come into 2024 without a Grand Slam final appearance to his credit, Sinner now boasts two major crowns and is £8m ($10.5m) better off in ATP winnings alone. That’s without accounting for his many endorsement deals with the likes of Nike, Gucci, Rolex and Head.

For now, however, Sinner will enjoy a well-deserved period of rest after lifting the top honour at Flushing Meadows. The ATP Finals get underway in Turin on November 10, giving the Italian roughly two months to prepare for the end-of-season event.

No other men’s player will carry quite as much momentum as Sinner into the competition, which bodes well for his chances of lifting his first ATP Finals crown. And he’ll have revenge in mind after losing to Novak Djokovic in the deciding match of last year’s competition.

And after Carlos Alcaraz, 21, won the French Open and Wimbledon, it is the first time since 1993 that all four Majors in the same year have been won by players 23 or younger.

It is also the first tennis season since 2002 that none of the Big Three – Novak Djokovic, Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer – have won a Grand Slam.

“It is a bit different, for sure,” said Sinner. “It’s something new. It’s nice for the sport to see some new champions. Nice to see new rivalries. I feel like the new generation we push each other, trying to improve.

“I always have players and I will always have players who are going to make me a better player, because there are going to be times where they beat me.

“Then you have to try to find a way how to win against certain players. I feel it’s good for the sport to have some new champions.”

Starting in Melbourne in January, Sinner has now won all six finals this season. He is the youngest man to win both hard court Grand Slam titles in the same season.

And he is only third man in Open Era – after Jimmy Connors in 1974 and Guillermo Vilas in 1977 – to win his first two Grand Slam titles in the same year.

And the Italian warned he is only going to get better. “Today we saw that not everything was perfect,” he said “I could have served slightly better, but this makes me realise that the work never stops.

“It’s always a continuous work which, at the end of the day, if you want to be a better player you always have to work, and you have to have these daily routines, accept difficult times on court.

“The work never stops. How can you play better against certain opponents,? How do you work on such shots?

“I was a lot in the gym, because I knew physically I still had to improve and I still have to improve a lot. This is all part of the sacrifices you make for an eventual future. So we will keep working.

“I know that I’m not perfect and I will never be perfect, but we always try to evolve in my game. Then after my career I can say: ‘Okay, I’ve done everything possible to be at 100 per cent.’”

In his courtside interview after beating Fritz in straight sets, Sinner admitted: “The last month has been very difficult because you all know what I went through.”

The world No.1 was cleared to play in New York after a tribunal accepted his two positive tests back in March were caused by a massage by his ex-physio.

Many players – past and present – cast doubt on the process while Nick Kyrgios branded the judgement “ridiculous”.

Asked how the tennis world will react to his second Grand Slam title, the Italian said: “I don’t know. You have to ask all the other players. This, I don’t know. Well, that what I can say is that the general reaction of the players was quite positive, even when things came out.

“Then there have been, of course, some different voices, but this is in everything. This is not only in tennis. This is in other sports and different jobs also. You can’t really do anything about that.

“That’s why you have the people close to you, these are the people who knows what was going on and what I and my team went through because it was not only me; it was the whole situation. I just can talk from my side and from my team’s perspective, and we are all very proud of this achievement.”

Sinner defeated Fritz 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 in New York, ending American hopes for a male Grand Slam champion for the first time in 21 years. He also made history as the first Italian man to win the New York Major.

However, Sinner’s campaign was marred by controversy just before the tournament began when it became public knowledge that he had tested positive for the banned substance Clostebol twice during the Indian Wells Masters in March. The ITIA investigation concluded that the substance had been unintentionally introduced into Sinner’s system by his former physiotherapist, Giacomo Naldi, which led the World No. 1 avoiding suspension.

Djokovic fans have taken to X to criticize what they perceive as discrimination in Jannik Sinner’s win, speculating about the outcome if their idol had been in the same situation. One fan wrote:

“If Novak Djokovic won the US Open after testing positive for Clostebol, he would not be celebrated like Jannik Sinner is.  He would be vilified and the legitimacy of his win would be in question. Shameful double standards.
