Timberlake to push papers in community service plea deal for pop star

Don’t expect to see Justin Timberlake scooping up trash along the Long Island Expressway any time soon.

Instead, the pop icon will be performing his 25 hours of court-ordered community service within the confines of the cozy court system itself after taking a plea deal in his Hamptons drunk-driving arrest Friday, The Post has learned.

But a source close to the singer’s defense team said forget about the “Suit and Tie” star cleaning courthouse toilets or mopping jury room floors.

“He would be doing stuff like sorting documents [for the court clerk], organizing files,” said the source.

Timberlake, 43, even has final say over where he’ll do his hours, the source said — noting it would likely be in New York, California or his home state of Tennessee.

The “SexyBack” crooner was eager to strike a deal, the source added, ahead of his upcoming Canadian tour dates next month.

“With a felony conviction on his record, Canada wouldn’t have let him in,” the source explained. “He wouldn’t be allowed into a lot of other countries, too, but he makes big money in Canada.”

Prosecutors had little evidence to prove their case, which a source described as “weak.”Brigitte Stelzer
Calling it “a weak case,” the source said local prosecutors were also interested in pursuing a plea.

“There was no blood evidence, and he refused the Breathalyzer,” said the source.

The prosecution didn’t want to rely on “observational testimony” from “a rookie cop who didn’t even know who the guy was,” the source insisted.

Timberlake appeared in Sag Harbor Village Court Friday, and pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of driving while alcohol impaired instead of the more serious charge of driving while intoxicated, a felony.

He was also ordered to pay a small fine and author a public service announcement.

Timberlake’s 2025 BMW was pulled over in the early hours of June 18 after Sag Harbor police alleged he blew a stop sign and was swerving out of his lane. He then refused three times to take a breathalyzer test, police allege.

On the night of his arrest, Timberlake was warned earlier not to drive by the officer who later stopped him, The Post previously reported.

Timberlake told the arresting officer he’d had one martini at the American Hotel before heading for his car. The bartender working that night corroborated the singer’s claim to investigators, the source said.

The singer also famously told the cop that the incident would “ruin the tour.”

Timberlake’s lawyer couldn’t be reached for comment. Prosecutors were also unavailable.

Timberlake has had issues with alcohol for years, sources had told Page Six, and that he’s largely enabled by the people surrounding him.

“It’s a real thing, and when you have a drinking problem, it’s apparent, yet they’ve pushed this tour on him, and he’s been in a very dark place,” the source said.

In a lopsided Davis Cup clash, Novak Djokovic demolished world No. 770 Ioannis Xilas with a swift 6-0, 6-1 victory in just 38 minutes, following the withdrawal of Greece’s top player Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The tennis match, held in Belgrade, saw Djokovic take the first set in a mere 20 minutes to the delight of the local fans. The crowd showed their sportsmanship by giving Xilas a standing ovation when he won his sole game.

Djokovic maintained his dominance throughout the match, quickly dispatching his Greek opponent. Earlier, Miomir Kecmanovic secured a win over Aristotelis Thanos with a score of 6-3, 6-3, putting Serbia ahead 2-0 before Djokovic’s triumph.

Serbia now only needs one more win from the remaining three matches to clinch victory. Djokovic, uncertain about future opportunities to play at home due to the Davis Cup’s new format of hosting all group games in a single city, expressed his intention to savor the moment.

“I don’t have any plans, only in the Davis Cup. I really just want to enjoy it because depending on the format and how things unfold in the coming years, maybe this is the last Davis Cup in front of the domestic audience, so I’ll enjoy it,” he explained.

“My subjective feeling is that people follow a lot when competitions are held in Serbia, but they also follow competitions around the world. What is beautiful pleases us, we all want it, for as many people as possible to follow.

“Like any other, it is difficult, especially since it is an individual sport, everything depends on you, that is quite cruel.

“We have success at the world level that inspires the young generation to get active, to be interested in tennis and to play it. Since it is a global sport, you have the opportunity to promote your country.”

WNBA Fired Sheryl Swoopes from Fever Broadcast for Hating on Caitlin Clark Stephen A. Smith Loses It

Cheryl Swoops, a celebrated name in women’s basketball, has recently found herself at the center of controversy, particularly with regards to Caitlin Clark. This tension between the two has not only sparked widespread discussion but has also led to significant fallout for Swoops.

WNBA Fired Sheryl Swoopes from Fever Broadcast for Hating on Caitlin Clark Stephen A. Smith Loses It

Throughout the current season, Swoops has been notably critical of Clark, which some argue stems from jealousy. This critique reached a peak when Diamond DeShields, a player from the Indiana Fever, was accused of a flagrant foul against Clark. The play, occurring at mid-court during a Fever game, was deemed more than just a regular foul; it was seen as an act of frustration towards Clark. The intensity of the foul drew sharp criticism from fans and analysts, with accusations of dirty play levied against DeShields. In the aftermath, DeShields faced racist threats, which only amplified the already heated situation.

In a surprising turn, Cheryl Swoops publicly supported DeShields, tweeting words of encouragement and denouncing the hate directed at her. This support, however, came with repercussions. Swoops was removed from her role as an analyst for an upcoming game between the Fever and the Dallas Wings. Her response to this development, marked by her tweet “not today Satan,” suggested she was not backing down from her stance despite the cost.

Swoops’ criticisms of Clark have not been limited to isolated incidents but have spanned various opinions on Clark’s performance and records. For instance, Swoops questioned the legitimacy of Clark’s NCAA points record, attributing it to volume shooting rather than quality. She argued that Clark should have broken Kelsey Plum’s record within the same timeframe as Plum, overlooking the fact that Clark had achieved this in fewer games. Swoops also inaccurately claimed that Clark was significantly older than her actual age, and exaggerated Clark’s shot attempts per game. Such statements not only misrepresented Clark’s achievements but also fueled further backlash against Swoops.

WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes 'was removed' from Indiana Fever commentary over compromising Caitlin Clark criticism, claims Stephen A. Smith | Daily Mail Online

In contrast to Swoops’ critical stance, Caitlin Clark has continued to break records and make headlines. Clark’s impact on the WNBA has been profound. She holds numerous records, including the single-game assist record and multiple rookie records. Her performance has been a major draw for fans, with games featuring Clark seeing record-breaking viewership numbers. Despite her achievements and the rising popularity she has brought to the league, some critics, including Swoops, have downplayed her contributions.

Stephen A. Smith, a prominent sports commentator, has been particularly vocal in defending Clark and criticizing Swoops. He has highlighted the discrepancy between Clark’s undeniable impact on the court and the negative critiques she receives from some former players and media figures. Smith’s support for Clark underscores the broader frustration with the dismissive attitudes some hold towards Clark’s achievements.

Swoops’ ongoing critiques and apparent bias against Clark are starting to overshadow her own illustrious career. Her recent actions, including minimizing Clark’s contributions while elevating other players, have only fueled perceptions of bias. This stance has led to criticism not just from fans but from fellow analysts and commentators who believe that Clark deserves recognition for her transformative impact on the sport.

The situation with Caitlin Clark is indicative of a larger issue within the WNBA and sports media: the challenge of acknowledging and celebrating emerging talents while navigating the biases and prejudices of established figures. Clark’s rise has been meteoric, and her achievements reflect her exceptional talent and hard work. The criticisms directed at her by Swoops and others highlight the difficulties new stars face in breaking through entrenched views and gaining the recognition they deserve.

As Caitlin Clark continues to make history and inspire future generations, the controversy surrounding her will likely persist. However, her accomplishments are a testament to her skill and determination, and they speak louder than any criticism. Despite the attempts to downplay her success, Clark’s impact on the game and her ability to draw fans are undeniable. The focus should be on celebrating her achievements and supporting the growth of the sport rather than letting personal biases overshadow the progress being made in women’s basketball.

  • A few highlights from JaylenBrown

    A few highlights from JaylenBrown

    A few highlights from JaylenBrown

Jaylen Brown has become one of the most exciting and influential players in the NBA, not just because of his remarkable skills on the court, but also due to his leadership, activism, and dedication to personal growth. Since being drafted third overall by the Boston Celtics in 2016, Brown has consistently elevated his game, evolving into a key player for the team and establishing himself as a voice for change off the court. From his highlights as a basketball player to his impact beyond the game, Jaylen Brown’s story is one of perseverance, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Jaylen Brown’s rise in the NBA has been nothing short of impressive. Coming out of the University of California, Berkeley, Brown was known for his athleticism, defensive prowess, and potential as a scorer. In his early years with the Celtics, he displayed flashes of brilliance, but it was in the 2019-2020 season that Brown truly started to shine.

In that breakout season, Brown averaged career highs in points, rebounds, and assists, cementing his role as a key offensive and defensive contributor for the Celtics. His ability to score from all areas of the court—whether driving to the basket, knocking down mid-range shots, or hitting from beyond the arc—became a focal point of the Celtics’ game plan. Brown’s versatility as a two-way player made him a nightmare for opponents, as he could lock down the opposing team’s best players while also leading his own team in scoring.

One of Brown’s most memorable highlights came during the 2020 NBA Playoffs. With the Celtics making a deep run, Brown was instrumental in their success. His performance in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat stood out, as he dropped 26 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in a critical victory. Although the Celtics ultimately fell short of the NBA Finals, Brown’s star had risen, and his leadership on the court was undeniable.

As Brown’s game continued to grow, so did his role as a leader on the Celtics. While playing alongside fellow star Jayson Tatum, Brown took on more responsibility both on and off the court. His maturity, intelligence, and work ethic set a strong example for his teammates, and he quickly became one of the most respected voices in the locker room.

During the 2020-2021 season, Brown earned his first NBA All-Star selection, a well-deserved recognition of his growth as a player. He averaged a career-high 24.7 points per game, along with 6.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists. His ability to take over games was on full display, and he often led the Celtics in clutch moments, showing his capability as a go-to scorer.

In addition to his individual accolades, Brown’s leadership was evident during the Celtics’ playoff runs. Whether it was his defensive intensity, his ability to score in bunches, or his willingness to make the right play, Brown demonstrated time and time again that he was a player the Celtics could rely on in high-pressure situations.

While Brown’s on-court accomplishments have been impressive, it is his activism and advocacy off the court that have truly set him apart. Brown has been a vocal advocate for social justice, education reform, and racial equality. He has used his platform to raise awareness about systemic issues and has actively participated in protests and discussions aimed at creating positive change.

In the summer of 2020, following the murder of George Floyd and the widespread protests against police brutality, Brown took a leading role in the fight for racial justice. He famously drove 15 hours from Boston to his home state of Georgia to participate in a peaceful protest. Brown’s commitment to the cause was evident in his passionate speeches and actions, as he called for unity, accountability, and change.

Beyond his activism, Brown has also been an advocate for education and personal growth. He has spoken openly about the importance of education and has criticized the stigma often associated with athletes pursuing intellectual interests. Brown himself is a voracious reader, a student of philosophy, and an advocate for lifelong learning. In 2019, he was named the youngest vice president in the history of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), a role that speaks to his intelligence, leadership, and the respect he commands among his peers.

Like all athletes, Jaylen Brown has faced his share of challenges. In 2021, he was sidelined during the Celtics’ playoff run due to a wrist injury, which was a significant blow to the team’s chances. However, Brown’s resilience and dedication to his craft have been evident throughout his career, and he has always bounced back stronger from adversity.

His ability to overcome obstacles is a testament to his mental toughness. Whether it’s injuries, criticism, or the pressure of being one of the faces of the Celtics franchise, Brown has consistently shown that he has the drive and determination to succeed. His work ethic is legendary within the Celtics organization, and his willingness to constantly improve has been a key factor in his rise to stardom.

As Jaylen Brown continues to evolve as a player and leader, the future looks incredibly bright for both him and the Boston Celtics. With a game that is constantly improving and a mindset focused on growth, Brown has the potential to reach even greater heights in the NBA. His partnership with Jayson Tatum gives the Celtics one of the most dynamic duos in the league, and as the team looks to contend for championships, Brown will undoubtedly play a pivotal role.

Off the court, Brown’s influence will only continue to grow. His activism, intelligence, and leadership have already made a significant impact, and he is poised to be a force for positive change for years to come. Whether through his work with the NBPA, his advocacy for social justice, or his efforts to reform education, Brown is using his platform to make the world a better place.

Jaylen Brown’s journey is one of growth, leadership, and excellence, both on and off the basketball court. As a player, he has developed into one of the NBA’s brightest stars, known for his scoring, defense, and ability to perform in clutch moments. As a leader, he has taken on a key role within the Celtics and the broader NBA community. And as an activist, he has used his voice and platform to advocate for social justice, education, and personal growth.

Brown’s story is far from over, and as he continues to push the boundaries of what he can achieve, fans can look forward to watching him inspire and lead for many years to come.

It’s that same dynamic that people want to see. We talked about it, that we’ve been waiting a long time, and this time feels right. The Kansas City Chiefs are on a roll to start the new NFL season.

It was another nail biter, but the Chiefs pulled off the win behind Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce — and a clutch field goal from Harrison Butker — defeating the Cincinnati Bengals 26-25 on Sunday, Sept. 15 in their second game since their Super Bowl LVIII victory in February.

The teams traded off field goals in the first quarter, before the Bengals, led by quarterback Joe Burrow, were able to go into halftime with a 16-10 lead. A long drive from the Chiefs to start the second half gave them a touchdown and their first lead of the game, but the Bengals quickly responded with one of their own.

Both quarterbacks had tough outings at times — Mahomes threw two interceptions, and a fumble from Burrow at the start of the fourth quarter put the Chiefs up 23-22 late. The Bengals had one last field goal to take the lead back, but a 51-yard field goal from Butker saved the game for the Chiefs, giving them the win and handing Cincinnati their second loss of the season.

Cheering for the home team was Kelce’s girlfriend Taylor Swift, who sat with friends Danielle and Este Haim, plus her brother Austin Swift and mom Andrea Swift in the tight end’s friends and family suite at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Swift, 34, was also joined by Chariah Gordan, the fiancée of Kelce’s teammate Mecole Hardman Jr., later in the game. The two were spotted jumping up and down and screaming after Butker sealed the win.

Patrick’s wife Brittany Mahomes supported the squad on Sunday as well. The 28-year-old Kansas City Current owner — who recently made headlines for appearing to support Donald Trump — was on the sidelines before kickoff with the couple’s children: Sterling Skye, 3, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, 1. The couple are currently expecting their third child.

Swift was all smiles as she cheered for her beau just days after thanking him on stage at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City.

Swift referred to Kelce as her “boyfriend” while accepting her award with Post Malone for best collaboration on their “Fortnight” music video and shared that Kelce was on set “cheering” for the pair after every take.

Fans pointed out that Swift’s speech marked the first time she’s publicly spoken his name and referred to him as her boyfriend.

The VMA’s 2024 artist of the year said, “Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic. So, I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I’ll always remember that,” of Kelce during the award show in New York City on Sept. 11.

Kelce appeared to enjoy the televised shout-out from his girlfriend when he liked a clip of Swift’s speech shared on MTV’s Instagram.

Next, the Chiefs will travel to Atlanta to take on the Falcons on Sunday, Sept. 22.

The Art of the Basketball Analysis: Behind the Scenes of Legendary Commentary

In the world of basketball analysis, the art of delivering insightful and engaging commentary often goes unnoticed. The recent exchange between basketball analyst Shaquille O’Neal and his colleague, Ernie Johnson, offers a rare glimpse into the behind-the-scenes preparation that shapes the analysis seen on our screens.

It only took Shaq 12 years to figure this out...

In a candid moment, Shaquille O’Neal, known for his charismatic presence and deep understanding of the game, reflects on his own approach to commentary. He admits that for years he has been trying to “go over the top” with his insights, relying heavily on his extensive basketball knowledge and intuition. However, observing Ernie Johnson’s meticulous note-taking process has led him to reconsider his approach.

O’Neal’s revelation that he should have been jotting down key points all along reveals a fundamental shift in his approach to delivering basketball analysis. Traditionally, his style has been more spontaneous, with a focus on delivering off-the-cuff remarks and observations. But this new perspective highlights a growing appreciation for the structured preparation that goes into crafting insightful commentary.

Johnson’s notes, which O’Neal now recognizes as essential, represent a methodical approach to ensuring that all important points are covered. This realization underscores the importance of preparation in producing commentary that is both informative and engaging. While O’Neal has relied on his expertise and on-the-fly analysis, he now acknowledges the value of having structured notes to guide the conversation.

The Only Murders in the Building star decked out her look in eye-catching jewelry by Tiffany & Co., including a pair of drop earrings, bracelets and several rings. She and Blanco were seated next to her beloved friends and costars, Steve Martin and Martin Short, in the front row.

The two were seen holding hands while they enjoyed each other’s company at the ceremony.

Gomez received her very first solo nomination for outstanding actress in a comedy series for her role as Mabel in the hit Hulu series.

When the Rare Beauty founder scored her nomination, she told The Hollywood Reporter that Martin and Short sent her a sweet surprise.

“I received flowers from [Martin Short and Steve Martin],” she told the outlet in August. “I’m in L.A., Marty’s always all over the world, and Steve is in New York. So, obviously, we can’t be together, but we’ll celebrate when we get back together again.”

In her September cover story interview with Vanity Fair, Gomez opened up about her relationship with Blanco and how it has expanded her view of love and the possibility of marriage.

The star has been publicly dating Blanco, 36, since December 2023 — years after they first collaborated on songs, including 2015’s “Same Old Love” and 2019’s “I Can’t Get Enough.”

“He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life,” said Gomez. “He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”
