“Daddy Will Bite You”: Shaquille O’Neal, Who Shunned Strict Parenting, Can’t Get Rid of 1 Disciplinary Tactic

Dad of six, Shaquille O’Neal hosted the Big Chicken family at the 2024 Go Big Conference. That’s where he caught up with Shawn P. Walchef, a big personality in the hospitality and media business. Walchef talked family and Big Chicken with O’Neal on his show, Restaurant Influencers. Ahead of the full episode’s release, he gave a little sneak-peek into Shaq’s little revelations. What intrigued Shaq was Walchef’s adorable company.

Daddy Will Bite You": Shaquille O'Neal, Who Shunned Strict Parenting, Can't Get Rid of 1 Disciplinary Tactic - EssentiallySports

The podcaster was not alone at the conference. He brought along his son, Colin, and daughter Wila to work. If you’ve followed Walchef’s social media, you’d see his little kids are something of tiny restauranteurs and promoters themselves. They know how to behave while daddy is working and they had Shaq completely besotted.

O’Neal apparently went offtopic from the interview when he asked, “Can i say something about your beautiful family?” After getting Walchef’s permission, Shaq says, “Your kids remind me of my kids.”

The fact that when daddy’s working, they know how to just chill and be quiet. You got two young babies over there not making any noise and my kids are like that on game day,” Shaq said. “They know from 12 to 3 play the game that if you wake daddy up, daddy will bite you so they, I can hear walking around the house, whispering, playing toys but you have a beautiful family.

Colin and Wila are way younger than Taahirah, Myles, Shareef, Amirah, Shaqir, and Me’Arah. The youngest, Meezy, is a newly-minted college student about to debut for the Gators. They’re all adults now but were a lot like the Walchef kids by Shaq’s own account.

O’Neal played in the NBA from 1992 to 2011. The eldest, Taahirah, was born in 1996, and Meezy was born in 2006. The kids were there during Shaq’s prime and four championships. They were apparently very mindful about their dad’s job. In the past, the 52-year-old proudly stated he has six “perfect” kids.

    Dad Shaq’s ‘funny’ tactics

Shaquille ONeal y el mensaje para sus hijos que sorprendió a todos: Yo soy el millonario. Ustedes, no

Shaquille O’Neal dubbed himself the “funny disciplinarian” of his kids. He credited his co-parents, Arnetta Yardbourgh and Shaunie Henderson, for being hands-on while he was away on his NBA schedules. But when he was around, he took a softer stance on them.

I never spank my kids. I used to chase them around like I was a wild dog. ‘Didn’t I tell you to come here?’ Especially like when they were little … So it was a little different but it worked, for me,” Shaq said in 2022. He reiterated the same point to Marlon Wayans on The Big Podcast last week.

He grew up under a strict father and while he has boundless respect for him, Shaq doesn’t adopt his disciplining tactics.

  • Caitlin Clark vs A’ja Wilson WNBA Single Season Scoring Record Battle is On

Caitlin Clark vs A’ja Wilson WNBA Single Season Scoring Record Battle is On

Caitlyn Clark and A’ja Wilson: A New Era in WNBA Basketball

In the world of professional basketball, milestones are often celebrated with great fanfare, and in the WNBA, this season has witnessed a historic achievement that has captivated fans and analysts alike. A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces recently shattered the WNBA single-season scoring record, a feat that underscores both her extraordinary talent and the evolving landscape of women’s basketball.

Caitlin Clark vs A'ja Wilson WNBA Single Season Scoring Record Battle is On - YouTube

Wilson’s remarkable accomplishment came as she surpassed Jewell Loyd’s previous record of 939 points, setting a new benchmark at an astounding 956 points. This achievement is not merely a testament to her scoring prowess but also reflects a broader trend within the league towards higher scoring and more dynamic play. With an average of 27 points per game, Wilson has not only eclipsed Diana Taurasi’s previous scoring average record of 25.2 points per game but has also redefined what is possible in the realm of women’s professional basketball.

While Wilson’s feat is impressive, it is also indicative of the rapidly changing nature of the WNBA. As the league continues to grow and evolve, so too does the level of competition. Players like Breanna Stewart, Arike Ogunbowale, and others are not just chasing records—they are redefining them. The imminent expansion of the WNBA schedule to 44 games next season hints at even greater scoring possibilities and heightened competition.

Amidst this evolution, one name that has garnered significant attention is Caitlyn Clark. Fresh off a stellar collegiate career where she became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I history, Clark has seamlessly transitioned to the WNBA, making a significant impact in her rookie season. Her average of 19.5 points per game may not yet scream record-breaker, but her performance since the Olympic break—averaging an impressive 23.9 points per game—demonstrates her potential to challenge existing records.

Clark’s ability to adapt and excel in the WNBA is underscored by her dual-threat capability. Not only is she scoring prolifically, but she is also leading the league in assists, showcasing a versatility that is rare in the league. Her court vision and playmaking skills, highlighted by stunning passes and clutch performances, make her a formidable contender for future scoring titles.

Beyond her on-court skills, Clark’s mentality and demeanor contribute to her growing legend. Her performance under pressure, such as scoring 40 points in the NCAA Championship game, speaks to her ability to rise to the occasion. With a full season under her belt and the prospect of an expanded schedule, Clark is poised to make a significant push for the top scoring spots in the near future.

As the WNBA progresses, Clark’s influence extends beyond just statistics. Her electrifying style of play and charismatic presence have brought a new level of excitement and star power to the league. Fans are flocking to arenas, TV ratings are soaring, and young athletes are inspired to emulate her success. Clark is not only a scoring machine but also a beacon for the future of women’s basketball.

While A’ja Wilson enjoys the accolades of her record-breaking season, Caitlyn Clark’s ascent signals a new chapter in the WNBA’s history. The dynamic between these two players highlights the league’s progression and the emergence of a new generation of stars who are pushing the boundaries of what is possible.

The saga of Wilson and Clark is more than a story of individual achievements; it is a reflection of the broader transformation within women’s basketball. As records are broken and new legends are born, the WNBA is entering an exhilarating phase, marked by unprecedented skill, competitive intensity, and a relentless drive for greatness. Basketball fans should brace themselves for an exciting future as these players continue to elevate the game and set new standards for excellence.

Fans Debate Caitlin Clark's Late Game Shot Selection Over A'ja Wilson

In conclusion, the ongoing rivalry and achievements of A’ja Wilson and Caitlyn Clark are emblematic of a transformative era in the WNBA. Their contributions not only highlight their exceptional talents but also signal a promising future for women’s professional basketball, where records are meant to be challenged, and the game continues to evolve in thrilling new ways.

Bucks’ Star Giannis Antetokounmpo Draws A Huge Crowd While Casually Walking On The Streets Of Greece

After playing in the NBA, a foreign player is often celebrated as the best in their country. However, winning a championship and MVP honors in the NBA gives them legendary status at home. One such player is Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, whose presence recently blocked the streets in his home country, Greece.

The 2021 NBA champion and his brothers Thanasis, Kostas, Alex, and Francis Antetokounmpo took a surprise tour of their homeland. Following the 29-year-old forward and his brother’s sighting on the streets of Greece, the Antetokounmpo brothers received a warm reception.

This weekend, Giannis and his brothers visited the AntetokounBros store on Ermou Street in Athens, Greece, and a massive crowd gathered around them. Many fans flooded the streets to take pictures and get autographs of their favorite basketball player.

The Milwaukee Bucks star forward took out his phone and filmed the huge crowd. As he walked through a throng of people, Giannis smiled and enjoyed the fans cheering. He posted a video on his Instagram handle and wrote, “Don’t take this love for granted!!”

Giannis Celebrates Daughter Eva’s 1st Birthday With Wife Mariah

A couple of days ago, Giannis Antetokounmpo and his wife, Mariah Riddlesprigger, shared a collaborative post on Instagram on their daughter’s first birthday. In a heartfelt post, the couple, who married on September 1 in Greece, wrote, “Happy 1st Birthday to our little princess. The sweetest little girl in our house full of crazy. Mommy, daddy and your brothers love you baby girl.”

After missing last season’s playoffs due to an injury, Giannis had a busy 2024 offseason. Apart from his off-court activities, the Bucks forward led Greece to the Paris Olympics 2024, where they got eliminated in the quarter-final after losing to Germany, who won the FIBA World Cup in 2023.

In the 2024 NBA Playoffs, Doc Rivers’ side lost in the first round to the Indiana Pacers. With the 2024-25 season approaching, Giannis and the Milwaukee Bucks face a challenge to improve their playoff run this time.

  • Patrick Beverley’s List of Top 5 NBA Power Forwards Snubs Two Former MVPs, and Fans Are Losing Their Minds

Patrick Beverley’s List of Top 5 NBA Power Forwards Snubs Two Former MVPs, and Fans Are Losing Their Minds

In the constantly changing NBA world, rankings and opinions often lead to intense debates among fans. Recently, Patrick Beverley shook things up by sharing his list of the top five NBA power forwards. Many fans heavily criticized Beverley for leaving out the two former MVPs from his list despite even playing with one of them.

Patrick Beverley is facing immense criticism currently after he snubbed two former MVPs from his top 5 power forward list.

Patrick Beverley (Image Credit: Getty Images)

In a recent podcast, NBA veteran Beverley shared his top 5 power forwards in the league. His selections include Karl-Anthony Towns, Zion Williamson, Jaren Jackson Jr., Lauri Markkanen, and Draymond Green. However, he left out two former MVPs: Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Patrick Beverley explained that Durant and Antetokounmpo are “positionless” players and don’t fit the traditional power-forward role when Beverley’s co-host said that he was missing Giannis Antetokounmpo, who he played with last season on the Milwaukee Bucks.

“Greek Freak not a four. He’s a three. I put Greek in the same position that I put Wemby, Greek, Bron, and KD. Positionless basketball. Can’t say you’re a four and you playing the point. Just because he’s 7-feet, does that make him a four?”, Beverley said.

    TheColdWire.com on X: "Patrick Beverley Names Top-5 Power Forwards In NBA https://t.co/xHxoKTu2U0" / X

After clarifying his position on player roles, the 36-year-old guard updated his list to still include Karl-Anthony Towns, Zion Williamson, Jaren Jackson Jr., Lauri Markkanen, and Draymond Green, insisting the Warriors’ veteran is “definitely still in there.”

Social Media Reacts to Patrick Patrick Beverley’s List

Kevin Durant, a two-time NBA champ and Finals MVP, has been a major power forward for years. Indeed, his skill and scoring ability make him a versatile player. Fans on social media questioned why Durant isn’t on Beverley’s list. Check out some of the fans’ reactions:

One fan humorously wrote, “Didn’t know Kevin Durant died.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo, the current NBA MVP and Defensive Player of the Year, has also been a key power forward for the Bucks and is loved by his fans. They also questioned Patrick Beverley’s list, with one fan writing, “Did Giannis retire or something???”

Another fan wrote, “wait so giannis doesnt exist?”

    Another fan commented, “Giannis?”

Fans overall didn’t seem to be on the same page as Patrick Bevelry as one of them wrote, “Hahahaha seriously Lauri in top 5. Ruined the credibility of the list”

Not including many great players in his list, like Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo, is not the only reason Patrick Beverley is getting so much hate. Another reason is the fact that despite playing with Giannis, he doesn’t acknowledge him as a 4. One fan wrote, “This man PLAYED with Giannis and still doesn’t know he’s a 4”

Another one commented, “As soon as I saw Draymond, I knew his list was doomed”

The criticism continues, and it remains unclear whether Patrick Beverley’s choices will influence the ranking of the league’s top power forwards. What’s certain is that his picks have sparked a lot of hate against him.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Floated As “Dream” Player For Warriors In 2025 Free Agency

Since his debut in the 2013–14 season, Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has been a cornerstone of the Bucks. Last year, he secured his future with a contract extension that will keep him with the team through the 2027–28 season. Despite his strong ties with the Bucks, speculation about his future continues to swirl.

    Warriors are targeting Giannis Antetokounmpo

Sam Amick of The Athletic recently stirred up media buzz by linking Antetokounmpo to the Golden State Warriors. On a recent episode of “The TK Show” podcast, Amick mentioned that the Warriors have long been interested in acquiring the star player.

“One that I think is just always gonna be monitored around the NBA is if the wheels fall off the Bucks. We know that Joe Lacob has had dreams of Giannis coming the Warriors’ way for a very long time. Again, unlikely, but Khris Middleton is gonna be a free agent next summer. I think Giannis is worth monitoring,” Amick said.

The Warriors lost veteran star Klay Thompson in the offseason, who joined the Dallas Mavericks. Despite adding Kyle Anderson and Buddy Hield to their roster, they are still looking to bring in additional talent to support Stephen Curry. There are rumors that the Warriors can target Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler in 2025 free agency.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had an outstanding season, becoming the first player in NBA history to average over 30 points per game while shooting 60% from the field. Despite this remarkable achievement, Antetokounmpo was notably absent from Patrick Beverley’s list of the top five power forwards in the league.

Beverley’s list included Karl-Anthony Towns, Zion Williamson, Jaren Jackson Jr., Lauri Markkanen, and Draymond Green. When asked about Antetokounmpo’s omission, Beverley explained that he doesn’t consider the “Greek Freak” a true power forward.

“Greek Freak is not a four. He’s a three. I put the Greek Freak in the same position that I put Wemby, Greek, Bron, KD. Positionless basketball,” Beverly said.

Giannis Antetokounmpo & Co. will head into the 2024-25 season with a game against the Detroit Pistons.

WNBA Superstar A’ja Wilson Gets In Trouble With Her Mom For Posting Incredibly Raunchy Message To Social Media After Breaking Another Major Record

A’ja Wilson, the standout center for the Las Vegas Aces, recently made headlines for her amazing performance on the court and an awkward moment on social media with her mom, Eva Wilson. This happened right after A’ja made history as the first WNBA player to score 1,000 points in a single season, hitting this mark in a game against the Connecticut Sun.

On September 16, 2024, Wilson scored 29 points in a game that solidified her place in WNBA history. The Las Vegas Aces won 84-71, improving their chances for the playoffs. After this big win, Wilson and her teammate Sydney Colson had some playful banter on social media.

Colson congratulated A’ja Wilson on X (formerly Twitter) with a cheeky comment about “taking home two balls,” referring to the game balls from her record-setting performances. However, Colson even used a smirk emoji, which caught the attention of fans and family.

Wilson played along with Colson’s comment, saying she was “just adding another pair.”

But things got a bit awkward when her mom saw it. Eva Wilson tweeted “A’JA!!” in surprise and concern.

This made A’ja quickly backpedal, saying her account had been hacked as an excuse for the cheeky reply.

A’ja Wilson’s Success on the Court Amid Social Media Controversy

This A’ja Wilson incident shows how using social media can be tricky for athletes. While fun interactions with teammates and fans can be great, they can also lead to questions about what’s appropriate, especially with family watching. Information spreads fast online, so even harmless jokes can quickly become misunderstandings or PR issues.

Even with this little hiccup, nobody can ignore the fact that Wilson has always been a key player for her team on the court. Her stats this season—averaging 27 points, 12 rebounds, and leading her team toward another championship—show her skill and dedication.

As A’ja Wilson prepares for the playoffs and aims for her third MVP award, this incident might remind her and other athletes to balance professionalism with social media interactions.

  • Caitlin Clark Makes Geno Auriemma Eat His Words as She Marches Towards MVP Glory

Caitlin Clark Makes Geno Auriemma Eat His Words as She Marches Towards MVP Glory

It seems like Caitlin Clark is doing more than just lighting up the WNBA court—she’s also lighting up her critics, with Geno Auriemma being the latest to join the club of people eating their own words. Yes, folks, the legendary UConn Huskies coach who, not too long ago, dissed Clark’s potential, might want to reconsider his statement. You know, the one where he labeled her fans “delusional” for believing she could tear the WNBA apart? Well, spoiler alert: she’s tearing it apart.

Caitlin Clark Makes Geno Auriemma Eat His Words as She Marches Towards MVP Glory

Clark continues to prove her doubters wrong with a sensational post-All-Star performance.

Geno’s Hot Take (That Didn’t Age Well)

Let’s rewind to June when Auriemma casually dropped by The Dan Patrick Show to throw some not-so-subtle shade at Clark. He claimed her fans were “unknowledgeable,” “disrespectful,” and, oh yes, “stupid.” That’s right, the same fans who are now gleefully watching her leapfrog past the doubters on her way to MVP contention. At that time, Clark was merely a rookie—just the third or fourth in the betting odds, according to Geno’s infinite wisdom. But fast-forward a few months, and it looks like the only person lacking knowledge is… you guessed it, Mr. Auriemma himself.

    Clark’s Rookie Rampage

So what’s Clark been up to since those comments? Oh, not much—just shattering WNBA rookie records, averaging a cool 24.3 points per game post-All-Star break, and dragging the Indiana Fever from the depths of the Eastern Conference abyss to clinch a playoff spot. You know, just a regular day at the office.

For those keeping score, Clark has posted 316 points in just 13 games, along with 71 rebounds and 116 assists. The Fever’s dynamic duo of Clark and Aliyah Boston has turned into the stuff of basketball dreams, with a chemistry that’s giving Indiana a Cinderella story in a league where no one expected them to dance.

The biggest thing holding Caitlin Clark back from WNBA success, according to UConn's Geno Auriemma | Sporting News

The Stat Line That Silences Critics

It’s not just about scoring, though, is it? Clark’s playmaking is off the charts, averaging 8.9 assists per game. She’s practically throwing dimes while making it rain from deep. Remember when she was “only” expected to survive in the league? Well, now she’s thriving, and she’s got her eyes set on the Kia MVP award, where she’s currently ranked sixth—just a few spots shy of Breanna Stewart. And to think, some people had the audacity to call her overhyped.

But the best part? Clark has shot below 19 points just twice in her last 13 games. That’s right, folks, she’s not just consistent, she’s consistently brilliant. Try saying that with a straight face, Geno.

    Auriemma’s Epic Backpedal: Coming Soon?

Is it time for a public apology tour from Auriemma? Probably not. But a quick backpedal wouldn’t hurt. Maybe he can claim he was just “testing” Clark, pushing her to greatness with his reverse psychology. Hey, that would be a plot twist we could get behind.

In any case, Clark isn’t just dunking on her opponents—she’s figuratively dunking on her critics too. And the best part? She’s doing it all with a smile, a jump shot, and a stat sheet that could silence even the harshest of naysayers.

    Up Next: Washington Mystics Beware

Clark’s next stop on the road to MVP stardom? A showdown with the Washington Mystics on September 18. Fans can expect another clinic as the Fever’s ace continues her quest to make history. And who knows, maybe we’ll get another viral moment, like a stressed-out fan begging her to stay quiet to avoid a technical foul. Either way, we’ll be watching with popcorn in hand.

So, Geno, if you’re out there: how does it feel to be proven wrong by a rookie? We’ll wait for your answer—just like Clark’s waiting for that MVP trophy.
