It just wouldn’t be Christmas without the incredible music of Amy Grant. With three Christmas albums to her credit, the award-winning singer has become synonymous with the holiday. Her annual Christmas tours are one of the biggest draws of the season, especially when she shares the stage with her famous husband, Vince Gill.

“I think that a part of me loved him instantly,” Grant says. “I felt like I knew him instantly. I was so moved by him as a human being that I went up behind him and just hugged him as hard as I could while he was singing. I just said, ‘I just needed to hug you all night.’”

The feeling was mutual as Gill wrote his song“Whenever You Come Around,” for Grant.

“This is a song that was inspired by a smile that I saw for the first time on the face of a woman that I’d never met. That was Amy Grant back in 1993. I was so inspired, moved by the sight of that smile, that I came home and wrote this song,” Gill said.

For seven years after their meeting, the couple fought their feelings for each other and remained faithful to their spouses. But, ultimately both would end up divorced, and in 2000, Vince Gill and Amy Grant married.

With their timeless voices blending seamlessly, the pair delivered a heartwarming rendition of “Sing One With Willie,” leaving the crowd mesmerized. If you missed it, this once-in-a-lifetime performance is a must-watch moment!

Watch George Strait Literally “Sing One With Willie (Nelson)” for an All-Time Duet at the Hollywood Bowl

Back in March 2019, George Strait looked to expand his career in country music when he released his 30th studio album with Honky Tonk Time Machine. Taking fans on a journey through country music, the album produced songs like “Every Little Honky Tonk Bar” and “The Weight of the Badge.” Packed with thirteen songs on the album, the last was a tribute to Willie Nelson titled “Sing one with Willie.” Featuring Willie Nelson himself, Strait not only wrote the song about Willie but just last year, he got the chance to finally sing one with Willie.

Taking over the Hollywood Bowl, fans packed the arena to watch Willie perform and to celebrate his 90th birthday. With the special concert featuring numerous stars, nothing compared to when Strait took the stage alongside the country icon. Simply walking on stage, Strait sat down beside Willie and shared a short interaction before jumping into “Sing One With Willie.”

With fans soaking in the atmosphere, the performance gained high praise with comments reading, “Willie’s circle of friends, spanning all those years… truly incredible. Thanks for posting.” Another person added, “The last Man standing. Thank you and happy birthday from all of us to you Willie! And many many more.”

George Strait Receives Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award

Besides being a fan of Willie, Strait found himself in the same category when the 2024 CMA Awards decided to honor the singer with the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. Only handed out to a few artists like Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, and Johnny Cash, Strait said, “I want to thank the CMAs for adding my name to the incredible artists on the small list of recipients carrying the name of the icon Willie Nelson.”

During the awards, several country stars took the stage to perform hit songs from Strait’s discography. Showcasing the long list of hits he produced over the decades, the country singer thanked the CMAs and fellow artists for the massive honor.  “I want to thank all these great artists who performed some of my songs that I’ve recorded over the years. It’s amazing to hear y’all do them. I’m so glad I got ’em before you.”

    Lyrics

Hope is an anchor and love is a ship
Time is the ocean and life is a trip
You don’t know where you’re going
‘Til you know where you’re at
And if you can’t read the stars

Well, you better have a map
    A compass and a conscience
So you don’t get lost at sea
Or on some on lonely island
Where no one wants to be

    From the beginning of creation
I think our maker had a plan
For us to leave these shores
    And sail beyond the sand
And let the good light guide us

Through the waves and the wind
To the beaches in the world
    Where we have never been
And we’ll climb up on the mountain
Y’all we’ll let our voices ring

And those who’ve never tried it
They’ll be the first to sing
    Whoa, my, my
I’ll see you on the other side
    If I make it

And it might be a long hard ride
    But I’m gonna take it
Sometimes it seems that I don’t have a prayer
I let the weather take me anywhere
But I know that I wanna go

    Where the streets are gold
    ‘Cause you’ll be there
    Oh, my, my
You don’t bring nothing with you here
And you can’t take nothing back

I ain’t never seen a hearse with a luggage rack
So I’ve torn my knees up prayin’
Scarred my back from fallin’ down
Spent so much time flying high
‘Til I’m face first in the ground

So if you’re up there watchin’ me
Would you talk to God and say
Tell him, I might need a hand
    To see you both someday
    Whoa, my, my
So I’ll see you on the other side

    If I make it
And it might be a long hard ride
    But I wanna take it
Sometimes it seems that I don’t have a prayer
I let the weather take me anywhere
But I know that I wanna go
    Where the streets are gold
‘Cause you’ll be there (you’ll be there)
    Oh, my, my
‘Cause you’ll be there (you’ll be there)
    Oh, my, my

Tank Dell’s gruesome season-ending knee injury is even worse than initially reported.

The Houston Texans’ star wide receiver suffered a knee injury after catching a touchdown pass from CJ Stroud on Saturday against the Kansas City Chiefs. It was subsequently confirmed that Tank Dell suffered a torn ACL and dislocated kneecap.

Unfortunately, Dell’s knee suffered even more damage on top of that. Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 reports that Dell also tore his MCL and LCL with damage to the meniscus. Wilson added that Dell will require multiple surgeries on his knee.

Tank Dell’s season-ending injury comes a year after his superb rookie year was also cut short with a leg fracture. And earlier this season, Texans All-Pro wideout Stefon Diggs suffered an ACL tear that abruptly ended his campaign.

Dell’s 2024 season ends with 51 receptions for 667 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games. A year earlier, he caught 47 passes for 709 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games, helping Houston to its first AFC South division crown in four years.

Texans Need Others To Step Up Without Tank Dell

Losing Diggs and Dell in a matter of weeks puts a giant dent in Houston’s playoff hopes, but not all is lost. They still have WR1 Nico Collins, star running back Joe Mixon and veteran tight end Dalton Schultz.

If these players can perform up to their usual standards, and if the defense can regain its championship-caliber form, the Texans will still be a tough out come January.

Rookie Cop and Justin Timberlake Not in *NSYNC

In recent years, celebrity controversies have often been the subject of much scrutiny and discussion, but one particular incident that stood out was Justin Timberlake’s arrest for driving while intoxicated (DWI) in the Hamptons. This moment was particularly notable not just because of Timberlake’s fame, but also because of the way it highlighted the absurdity of his actions in a world where he could easily avoid such situations. The arrest quickly became fodder for jokes, memes, and social commentary, reflecting not just Timberlake’s behavior but the deeper societal issues surrounding fame and privilege.

Rookie Cop and Justin Timberlake Not in *NSYNC

Timberlake’s arrest was a result of an unfortunate series of events. According to reports, after he was pulled over, his friends tried to intervene and even begged the officer to let him go. The question that arose immediately in many minds, however, was why someone as wealthy and famous as Timberlake didn’t have a driver to take him home. Given his immense wealth, having a personal driver or utilizing rideshare services seems like an obvious solution to avoid any potential danger to himself or others. Instead, Timberlake made a decision that many would consider irresponsible, leading to his arrest and the public humiliation that followed.

One of the most striking parts of the story was the reaction from his friends. Instead of offering to take Timberlake home, they chose to plead with the officer on his behalf. This type of behavior speaks to a deeper issue of privilege, where wealthy and famous individuals often receive special treatment. The notion that Timberlake could not find a way home, despite his wealth, felt almost absurd. In fact, it felt like a missed opportunity to demonstrate responsibility, something that many of his fans may have expected from someone of his stature. Instead, the incident revealed an almost carefree attitude toward consequences—a mindset that only seems to exist in those who are insulated from the realities most people face.

Moreover, the way the situation was handled on the ground also added to the absurdity of the entire ordeal. Timberlake was reportedly unaware that the cop who pulled him over didn’t recognize him, which was another blow to the singer’s ego. For someone who has spent decades in the public eye, the idea that his fame had faded to such an extent that even an officer in a high-profile area like the Hamptons didn’t recognize him was a startling revelation. Timberlake’s reaction to the incident—specifically the famous mugshot taken after his arrest—was telling. The look on his face was one of someone deeply aware that this was a moment of personal reckoning, but also a symbol of the disconnection that can occur when fame begins to wane. It was a face that spoke of both regret and disbelief, as if he couldn’t quite understand how this had happened to him.

As Timberlake faced the consequences of his actions, his story quickly became a subject for many comedians and social commentators. They dissected every angle of the arrest and its aftermath, with many pointing out the contradictions in Timberlake’s actions and the larger societal implications. Some speculated that the whole incident might have been part of a larger “karma” arc, as they recalled the controversial period of Timberlake’s career when he was publicly linked to Britney Spears and later, Janet Jackson. In particular, there was a sense that Timberlake was being “punished” for his past transgressions, with people joking that it was Britney Spears’ “hex” at work.

This humorous speculation, however, touched on something much deeper about the world of fame. Fame, as a concept, is inherently fleeting. While it can provide access to immense wealth and power, it can also isolate individuals from the very things that make them human. Timberlake’s DWI arrest might have seemed like a minor scandal to some, but it represented a much larger truth: no one is immune from the consequences of their actions, and fame, no matter how dazzling, does not protect against personal failings.

What also emerged from the incident was a strange conspiracy theory that added layers of intrigue to the situation. Some speculated that Timberlake had staged his own arrest for the publicity, noting how carefully curated his image has been in recent years. The theory suggested that Timberlake had asked the officer to cuff him, adding an element of performance to the arrest. While there was no evidence to support this, the very suggestion pointed to the complex relationship between fame and public perception. Timberlake, as a public figure, had long been a subject of media scrutiny, and this arrest added to his complicated public persona.

Justin Timberlake lança sexto álbum de estúdio – Fofocas e Famosos

This incident, like so many others involving celebrities, also raised questions about the nature of accountability and how we view those in the public eye. While Timberlake faced a wave of mockery and criticism, some of the more serious issues were overlooked. The larger question remains: how can individuals, especially those in positions of privilege, truly be held accountable for their actions when they are surrounded by yes-men and an adoring public that often excuses their behavior? In Timberlake’s case, the arrest was a moment of reckoning, but it also served as a reminder that fame, despite its allure, comes with consequences.

In the end, the incident was a reminder that the public’s fascination with celebrities is often tied to a desire for both entertainment and schadenfreude. Timberlake’s arrest, though unfortunate, became a point of discussion for many, exposing the contradictions in the lives of the famous and highlighting the tenuous nature of fame itself. The fact that Timberlake could be so famous yet so unaware of the realities surrounding him made his downfall all the more poignant, as it illustrated how fragile even the brightest stars can be.

Bergey helped the Eagles end an 18-year playoff drought in the 1978 season. That was the first of four straight postseason appearances for the Eagles, with their 1979 Wild Card Round win over Chicago marking Philly’s first playoff win since 1960.

Football fans are teeing off on the NFL refs following several questionable game-changing calls in the Pittsburgh Steelers-Kansas City Chiefs Christmas Day game.

The Chiefs and Steelers were squaring off at Acrisure Stadium in the first of two Christmas Day games. But once again, a highly-anticipated football game has been overshadowed by the NFL refs making head-scratching calls.

For starters, Jaylen Warren’s rushing touchdown to put the Steelers on the board was called back by a questionable holding penalty on Darnell Washington. On the next play, Russell Wilson was picked off by Justin Reid:

Later on in the second quarter, the NFL refs blew the whistle early after George Pickens made a catch near midfield. If they didn’t blow it prematurely, Pickens could have had an even bigger run:

As you would expect, fans accused the NFL refs of “rigging” this game in favor of Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs:

“This is getting to be such a terrible product when the Chiefs play,” a fan wrote.

“Told you, Taylor Swift is the commissioner!!,” another joked.

    “No shocker,” said a fan.

“All NFL Christmas team,” a fan wrote with images of NFL refs together.

“Typical Chiefs game… TD by the opposite team? Let’s throw a flag to negate the play,” a fan said.

“Unsportsmanlike on KC wasn’t a flag?,” asked a user.

“Nothing changes until we stop watching, which we won’t,” claimed another.

“If anyone is surprised, I feel sorry for you,” a fan wrote.

NFL Refs Can’t Shake Off Chiefs Favoritism Accusations

There have certainly been plenty of questionable officiating decisions that have favored the Chiefs this season, and today’s game against the Steelers hasn’t been any different. The fact most of Kansas City’s wins have come in one-score games has only added to frustration for anti-KC fans who believe the refs really are favoring Mahomes and company.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens was finally on the field after missing a few weeks due to injury.

His reward was a game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Following the 29-10 loss, many online were sure that he was subtly issuing a come-and-get-me plea when he spoke to Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes on Christmas Day.

The Kansas City Chiefs pair were being interviewed by Netflix’s Stacey Dales when Pickens interrupted the interview to give his respect.

Some praised George Pickens for his good sportsmanship, while others were cynical and thought it was a signal from the wide receiver to the Chiefs star to try and spark some type of trade to get him on their team.

“George Pickens hits the Chiefs players with the “come get me” dap 😂,” an account on X stated while posting the video of the moment.

In the game, Pickens had three catches for 50 yards.

On the other side, Patrick Mahomes passed for 320 yards and three touchdowns as the Chiefs locked up the top seed in the AFC for the fourth time in seven seasons.

There was no Taylor Swift in attendance, but Travis Kelce had a memorable game. He set a new Chiefs touchdown record and finally surpassed fellow tight end Tony Gonzalez. Kelce caught eight passes for 84 yards and a touchdown.

Insider Believed That Steelers Could Trade George Pickens

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Picken made headlines for interrupting Netflix’s postgame interview with Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.

Pickens barged into the postgame interview to high-five both players. Many thought he was angling for a trade.

Earlier this year, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini believed the Steelers could trade him before the deadline.

“I like the idea of under the rug, because you’re right, I don’t think that’s a name that’s getting floated around right now as something that seems obvious. But when you start thinking about how he could fit in the Chiefs offense, it does make a lot of sense,” Russini said on the Scoop City Podcast.

That did not happen, but it does not mean it couldn’t happen in the offseason.

Opposing fans have been calling out the Kansas City Chiefs as cheaters for many months, and they appeared to get some backup on that during their latest contest.

On Christmas Day, the Chiefs were taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road.

While up 28-10, the crew of Ian Eagle, analysts Nate Burleson and JJ Watt, were speaking as the team was getting set to kick their point after following a touchdown.

Right after the point after was made, Ian Eagles stated out of his mouth, “Right down the middle to give the cheaters…”

Clearly, his words were a mistake, but given what fans have stated about the team all year, those words should not be taken lightly.

Patrick Mahomes passed for 320 yards and three touchdowns, and the Kansas City Chiefs locked up the top seed in the AFC for the fourth time in seven seasons with a 29-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The two-time defending Super Bowl champions never had a real challenge during this game.

The Steelers have dropped three straight as their chances of capturing the AFC North took another hit.

In the game, Travis Kelce caught eight passes for 84 yards and made history as he became the third tight end in NFL history to reach 1,000 receptions, joining Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten.

On the other side, Russell Wilson threw for 205 yards for Pittsburgh, while WR George Pickens finished with three receptions for 50 yards after missing three games with a hamstring injury.

Kansas City Chiefs Lock Up Number One Seed

Kansas City celebrated Christmas this year by locking up the AFC’s top playoff seed, once again earning a bye and home-field advantage through the conference championship.

The Chiefs clinched their ninth consecutive AFC West title in Week 14 after defeating the Los Angeles Chargers.

Music City gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of country music icon Toby Keith on Monday, July 29. Toby Keith: American Icon, brought together some of the biggest names in the industry, including Carrie Underwood, Lainey Wilson, Luke Bryan, Jelly Roll, Eric Church, and more.

In addition to honoring the immeasurable mark that Toby Keith left on country music, the event raised funds for The Toby Keith Foundation’s OK Kids Korral, which provides a cost-free home for families of children undergoing cancer treatment, and the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

The night was full of memorable performances, moving words, and special memories. Toby Keith’s daughter Krystal even took the stage to perform the emotional ballad “Don’t Let The Old Man In.”

Video from Toby Keith’s final time in the recording studio was shared for the first time at the show

Shortly before Toby Keith passed away from stomach cancer, he recorded the Joe Diffie classic “Ships That Don’t Come In.” The cover was a collaboration with artist Luke Combs and was included in the project HIXTAPE. Vol. 3: DIFFTAPE, a compilation album celebrating the music of the late Joe Diffie.

According to a press release issued before the album’s release, DIFFTAPE utilized “2006 master recordings of Diffie’s greatest hits in tandem with all new recordings from some of country music’s biggest stars and more.”

“Ships That Don’t Come In” would ultimately become Toby Keith’s last-ever studio recording. His rendition was released on March 29, nearly two months after his death, so he never had the chance to perform the song live.

However, never-before-seen footage of Toby’s last time in the studio was shown during the tribute concert, creating an emotional way to experience some of the last work created by the legendary singer.
