The Boston Celtics worst nightmare might be unfolding in the NBA’s Eastern Conference

The Boston Celtics worst nightmare might be unfolding in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. The Celtics took full advantage of the chaos created by the heady moves made by the Milwaukee Bucks front office in pursuit of another title under star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo the offseason before last, winning Banner 18 in the process while the Bucks flailed about, trying to find their new way of playing.

A new head coach fired and another (former Boston) head coach hired later, and the deal that brought Damian Lillard to the Bucks from the Portland Trail Blazers is starting to click. The last thing the Celtics would want to deal with is a return of Milwaukee in the East.

So is that what’s going on? Or has their recent boost in place been more of a temporary swing? The hosts of the CLNS Media “The Big Three NBA” podcast, A. Sherrod Blakely, Gary Washburn, and Kwani Lunis took some time on a recent episode of their show to talk it over. Check it out below!

  • Taylor Swift’s Epic Net Worth Just Made Her the Wealthiest Female Musician Ever

Taylor Swift’s Epic Net Worth Just Made Her the Wealthiest Female Musician Ever

Taylor Swift’s Epic Net Worth Just Made Her the Wealthiest Female Musician Ever

Since the day Taylor Swift released her first single “Tim McGraw” in 2006, the singer/songwriter has mustered up a downright cult following. Her nearly two-decade career has brought masses from all over the world to her concerts, cementing her status as among the most famous (maybe she’s the most famous?), well-liked pop singers ever. And thanks to her wildly successful, record-breaking Eras Tour, as of October 2024, she also became the wealthiest female musician ever.

From Swift’s enormously successful music to her tour earnings and real estate portfolio, here’s everything you need to know about the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer’s ginormous net worth.

What Is Taylor Swift’s Net Worth?

As of December 2024, Swift has an astonishing net worth of $1.6 billion, according to Forbes. While she hit billionaire status during the first leg of her Eras Tour in 2023, her net worth has only continued to grow. Her fortune comes from her wildly successful tours, extensive music output, brand deals, and hefty real estate portfolio, among other dizzying revenue streams.

    Taylor Swift’s Record-Breaking Career Timeline

Though Swift started out as a small-town singer performing at local coffee shops and state fairs, she always knew she wanted to be a pop star. When she was just nine years old, she started taking vocal and acting lessons in New York City, where she learned she wanted to focus on country music.

At 11, her mom Andrea took her to Nashville to visit record labels and submit demo tapes of her covers of famous female country stars’ tunes. While she received rejections from all the labels at first, according to her mom, she was determined from the very start—the barrage of “no” and rejections only fueled her desire to do better and stand out from the rest.

“She came back from that trip to Nashville and realized she needed to be different, and part of that would be to learn the guitar,” her mom told Entertainment Weekly.  “Now, at 12, she saw a 12-string guitar and thought it was the coolest thing. And of course, we immediately said, ‘Oh no, absolutely not, your fingers are too small—not till you’re much older will you be able to play the 12-string guitar.’ Well, that was all it took. Don’t ever say never or can’t do to Taylor. She started playing it four hours a day—six on the weekends. She would get calluses on her fingers and they would crack and bleed, and we would tape them up and she’d just keep on playing.”

In 2003, when Swift was around 13 years old, she began working with the talent manager Dan Dymtrow, who got her a job modeling for Abercrombie & Fitch. That same year she performed multiple original songs at an RCA Records showcase before her family moved to Nashville so she could further her career.

When she moved to Nashville, she started working with some local singer/songwriters before ultimately signing with Big Machine Records, an independent record label started by Scott Borchetta.

Just a year after signing with the record label, Swift released her first studio album, Taylor Swift, which peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 chart, and stayed on the chart for 157 weeks. She put out four hit singles in “Teardrops on My Guitar,” “Our Song,” “Picture to Burn,” and “Should’ve Said No.”

In 2008, Swift released her second studio album, Fearless, which spent 11 weeks at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. The album’s songs “Love Story” and “You Belong with Me” quickly became chart toppers and could be heard on almost every country and pop radio station in the country. Over the next two years, the singer released three other top singles—”White Horse,” “Fifteen,” and “Fearless.” A year after her second album was released, she headed out on her first tour.

From 2010 to 2014, Swift released two more albums: Speak Now and Red, a genre-spanning album that also opened at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Red’s lead single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” was Swift’s first No. 1 on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Though her younger years as a country artist helped kickstart her enormous net worth, it wasn’t until she moved into full-on pop that she really made it into the industry’s highest echelon. On October 27, 2014, she released 1989, her first “official pop album,” in her words.

“This album was made completely and solely on my terms, with no one else’s opinion factoring in, no one else’s agenda factoring in,” she told Billboard in 2014. “I didn’t feel that I was having to think too hard about the musical direction. In the past, I’ve always tried to make sure that I was maintaining a stronghold on two different genres, and this time I just had to think about one, which was creatively a relief. It was nice to be honest about what I was making.”

After the release of the blockbuster album, she went on The 1989 World Tour, which was the highest-grossing tour of the year, bringing in $250 million in total.

From 2014 to 2017, Swift continued to write music and coproduce with other artists like Calvin Harris, former One Direction artist Zayn Malik, and country band Little Big Town. In 2018, she began her Reputation Stadium Tour, which became the highest-earning North American concert tour in history. This tour, lasting six months, grossed more than $340 million.

In 2019, she released Lover, which became the best-selling album in the U.S. at the time. Later in the year, after a lengthy and very public debate with talent manager Scooter Braun (then working with Justin Bieber) following his acquisition of her recording catalogue, Swift began recording her old albums anew, as the original master recordings had been sold. A year later, she released two sister albums amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Folklore and Evermore, which despite a more laid-back sound, became fast favorites of her fans.

Not to let music hold back her other ambitions, Swift is known for a vast real estate portfolio, which has included homes in Rhode Island, New York City, Nashville, and L.A. You’ve also undoubtedly spotted some of her brand deals, like those omnipresent Capital One ads, and probably some tour merch worn by her Swifties, too.

On the music front, since 2021, Swift has continued to release new versions of her six original studio albums (she’s currently signed to Republic Records). In 2022, she released the all-new Midnights, her fifth to open atop the Billboard 200. One year later, she embarked on the Eras Tour, which covered both the newer songs and redone versions of her previous studio albums. The tour lasted 632 days with 149 shows in over 50 cities across 5 different continents. Due to its length and popularity, the record-breaking tour became the highest-grossing tour in history, earning more than $2 billion.

“We have toured the entire world with this tour, we have had so many adventures,” Swift said at the sold-out show at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia. “It has been the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense, most challenging thing I’ve ever done in my entire life.”

  • Lamar Jackson reveals how Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese helped him fix the one glaring weakness in his own game

Lamar Jackson reveals how Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese helped him fix the one glaring weakness in his own game

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are inspiring millions of people around the world.

The rookie phenoms set the WNBA alight last season, shattering all sorts of records – on and off the court – and catapulting women’s basketball to dizzying new heights.

Clark and Reese are two of the biggest things to happen to the WNBA in years

However, it’s not just women, or fans, Clark and Reese are inspiring.

Reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson is a huge fan of the talented hoopers, and recently shared his admiration for both in an interview.

The Baltimore Ravens quarterback lauded Clark and Reese while speaking with ESSENCE, revealing the WNBA duo are responsible for getting him interested in women’s basketball.

“I wasn’t really into women’s basketball at first… but now, seeing players like Angel and Caitlin go crazy, it’s inspiring,” he said.

‘Action Jackson’ also joked about his own struggles on the court, admitting watching Clark and Reese had improved his shooting form beyond recognition.

“I couldn’t shoot then, but I can now!”.

“It’s amazing… you know they don’t got to be doing hair and stuff they can play basketball play some sports,” Jackson went on, praising the opportunities women now have to enter the world of sports.

The 27-year-old also explained how other sports have piqued his interest too, specifically women’s soccer which blew him away during a recent trip to Germany.

“Women’s sports are going crazy right now,” the Ravens signal caller said.

Jackson says Clark and Reese have got him into women's basketball and taught him how to shoot properly

Clark and Reese entered the WNBA in 2024 as the No. 1 and No. 7 picks to the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky, respectively.

The prodigious pair were fierce rivals in college and that continued during their debut seasons in the W.

Reese, a 6ft 3in forward, set the WNBA record for the most consecutive double-doubles in a season with 15, set the WNBA record for the most double-doubles by a rookie with 26, and set the WNBA record for the most single-season rebounds with 446 (later broken by A’ja Wilson).

Sharpshooter Clark, meanwhile, set the WNBA and Indiana Fever records for most assists in a regular season, most points scored by a rookie in a regular season, and most 3-point field goals made by a rookie as she was crowned Rookie of the Year.

Both ultimately missed out on the ultimate prize, a WNBA championship, but that hasn’t stopped Clark getting back in the lab and Reese preparing to play in a new 3-vs-3 basketball league in January.

As for Jackson, he’s in the midst of another MVP-caliber season, after scooping the award for the first time in 2019 and for a second time last season.

Jackson is among the favorites to win the MVP award this season, his third overall

The Ravens field general surpassed Michael Vick for the most yards rushing by a quarterback in NFL history against the Houston Texans on Christmas.

Jackson holds the career rushing yards record for a QB with 6,110 yards, just ahead of Vick’s 6,109 yards.

Through Week 17, Jackson has thrown for 3,955 yards and a career-high 39 passing touchdowns, to go with a 121.6 passer rating, 852 rushing yards and four scores on the ground.

Baltimore’s 31-2 victory against the Texans saw them claim first place in the AFC North with an 11-5 record.

Jackson completed 10 of 15 passes for 168 yards and helped his chances of winning a third MVP award, but faces stiff competition from Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen and Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley.

  • Angel Reese gives Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu their flowers in WNBA claim

Angel Reese gives Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu their flowers in WNBA claim

Angel Reese identified Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu as among the best three-point shooters in the WNBA.

The trio of stars are up there as the most recognizable faces in the league with the Ionescu, 27, fresh off her first title with the New York Liberty, claiming the championship after defeating the Minnesota Lynx.

Reese and Clark, both 22, entered the WNBA on the back of highly distinguished college careers, with the pair facing off against each other in the NCAA championship game.

Reese led LSU to the title which put an end to Clark’s remarkable career with Iowa, where she became the NCAA’s leader in both scoring and assists. With the Chicago Sky star having created her ‘Unapologetically Angel’ podcast this year, she used to platform to shout out Clark and Ionescu during an chat with comedian Funny Marco.

After admitting that he’s a bigger WNBA fan than the NBA, Marco asked Reese to name who she thinks are the best three-point shooters in the league. Reese initially answered: “Between Caitlin, Diana Taurasi…”

She then asked Marco who he’d add into the conversation as he named Breanna Stewart and Ionescu, who Reese both agreed with. Out of four players, Clark had the best three-point percentage this past season with 34.4%, while the 20-year veteran Taurasi ranked second with 33.3% with Ionescu narrowly behind with 33.2%.

It was Stewart who had a career-worst performance from three this season, despite becoming a three-time champion. The two-time MVP could only muster up a disappointing percentage of 29.5% from the three-point line.

Prior to her debut WNBA season, Clark showered her rival with praise as she spoke out Reese’s deadliest attribute. “The thing that really stands out is the offensive rebounding,” the Indiana Fever star said. “She did the exact same thing to us when we were in college too. She’s just such a great offensive rebounder.

“She’s always just had a knack for that. It’s not always something you can teach. I think she just has a really good eye for the ball off the rim and can go get it.”

  • Angel Reese makes Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu claim in WNBA praise

Angel Reese makes Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu claim in WNBA praise

Angel Reese hailed Caitlin Clark and Sabrina Ionescu as two of the WNBA’s finest three-point shooters.

The league is now stacked with eye-catching talent. The more experienced 27-year-old Ionescu celebrated her first championship with the New York Liberty after toppling the Minnesota Lynx in October.

Meanwhile, the young duo of Reese and Clark, both 22, burst onto the professional scene earlier this year after shining at college level. They clashed in the 2024 NCAA title game with Reese and LSU halting Clark’s impressive career at Iowa, where she set records in scoring and assists.

On her podcast ‘Unapologetically Angel’, the Chicago Sky star didn’t shy away from praising Clark and Ionescu while chatting with Funny Marco. The comedian, who made his passion for the WNBA clear, asked Reese to name the best shooters of the league.

Initially, she mentioned: “Between Caitlin, Diana Taurasi…” She then sought Marco’s opinion, who brought Breanna Stewart and Ionescu into the mix, choices Reese concurred with.

Statistically, this past campaign Clark led the quartet in three-point efficiency at 34.4%, followed closely by veteran Taurasi’s 33.3% and Ionescu trailing just slightly with 33.2%. Despite being a three-time champion, Stewart turned in her worst three-point shooting season ever, hitting a mere 29.5% from deep.

Clark has also previously sung Reese’s praises, saying earlier this year: “The thing that really stands out is the offensive rebounding. She did the exact same thing to us when we were in college too.

“She’s just such a great offensive rebounder. She’s always just had a knack for that. It’s not always something you can teach. I think she just has a really good eye for the ball off the rim and can go get it.”.

While Clark led the Fever to their first playoff appearance since 2016, Reese couldn’t do the same with the Sky, who had a dismal 13-27 record this past season.

Family, friends and fans of Elvis Presley gathered at Graceland on Sunday morning to mark what would have been the rock icon’s 88th birthday.

Led by Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, the annual event featured an Elvis Presley Birthday Proclamation from the City of Memphis and Shelby County, as well as a ceremonial cake cutting.

The event drew an unusually large gathering of Presley diehards — a number clearly boosted by the success of the 2022 Baz Luhrmann biopic “Elvis” — to the front lawn of Graceland for the 30-minute ceremony.

Elvis Presley Enterprises CEO Jack Soden welcomed the group. “I can speak with some authority having been here every year for a lot of years,” he said. “This is unquestionably the largest crowd we’ve ever had. You all come from all over the world … and we love you for being here.”

Following brief appearances by Alton Mason, who played Little Richard in the Luhrmann film, and Presley’s longtime TCB band pianist Glen D. Hardin, Elvis Presley Enterprises managing partner Joel Weinshanker spoke.

Weinshanker noted that one of Presley’s career ambitions “was to be in an amazing movie, with an amazing director, and be part of an amazing film. And I think we did that for him this year.”

He added that Graceland was “probably the most famous house in the world, and there is only one person whose house it is,” he said, introducing Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.

Lisa Marie Presley, wearing a long black coat and sunglasses, was greeted with huge cheers from the crowd. “Thank you. It’s been a while. I missed you. I keep saying you’re the only people that can bring me out of my house. I’m not kidding,” she said, to cries of “We love you, Lisa Marie!”

“I love you back and that’s why I’m here. Today, [Elvis] would’ve been 88 years old, it’s hard to believe. I think that he’d be proud. This year has been an incredible year. The movie is incredible, I’m very proud of it, and I hope you are too,” Lisa Marie Presley said. “But it’s just so moving how every year you come from all over the world. It’s moving to me and my family… so thank you.”

Lisa Marie Presley and Elvis Presley Enterprises officials then unveiled an “Aloha from Hawaii”-themed cake — the famed 1973 satellite concert event that marks its 50th anniversary — as the crowd sang “Happy Birthday” to close the proceedings.

Celebrations of Presley’s birthday continued on Sunday, with Graceland officially opening the doors to “The Making of ELVIS” exhibition, a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Luhrmann’s film, which packs props, drawings, annotated scripts, 18 character costumes and other items into a 3,000-square-foot space. The exhibit is currently slated to be on display through Labor Day.

  • Top 5 Angel Reese vs Caitlin Clark Rivalry Moments of 2024

Top 5 Angel Reese vs Caitlin Clark Rivalry Moments of 2024

The rivalry that ignited during the 2023 NCAA Final took bigger stage again in 2024 as Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark stepped onto the WNBA scene. Their clash in the 2023 NCAA Finals had already set the stage for what could be an exciting showdown. Angel Reese’s classy “you can’t see me” gestures stirred quite the buzz, sparking debates across social media. While some rallied behind Caitlin Clark, others were captivated by Reese’s bold attitude, instantly becoming her fans.

In 2024, these former college basketball stars made their much-anticipated debuts in the WNBA, facing off multiple times throughout the season. As the year wraps up, let’s rewind and revisit the top five moments where Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese’s rivalry stole the spotlight and had fans buzzing.

     5. WNBA Draft meet: (April 15, 2024)

After four successful years in college basketball, Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark were ready to take the next step in their careers by entering the WNBA. But first, they had to go through the exciting WNBA Drafts in mid-April. Given their intense rivalry, especially since Reese joined LSU, fans were eagerly anticipating the moment they’d see these two stars at the event where their WNBA futures would be decided

At the draft, Clark was selected as the No. 1 pick by the Fever, while Reese was picked 7th by the Chicago Sky. Despite their fierce rivalry and the difference in their draft positions, the two showed no signs of tension between them. In fact, they even posed for pictures together, with everyone recognizing them as the next big rising stars of the year.

But the real action was yet to come, as the following months promised some intense matchups between the two.

    4. Pro stage debut: Reese vs. Clark – (June 1, 2024)

The WNBA season kicked off in May, but fans had to wait until June for the highly anticipated matchup between the star rookies. By the time the Indiana Fever played their 10th game against the Windy City, Clark’s team had struggled, winning just one of their first nine games. On the other hand, Reese’s team had fared better, securing three wins out of their six games.

As predicted, the showdown was an absolute nail-biter, with the Fever narrowly edging out the visitors 71-70. While the home team celebrated a hard-fought victory, neither Clark nor Reese delivered their most dominant performances. Clark contributed 11 points and 8 assists, showcasing her playmaking skills, while “Chi-Town Barbie” put up 8 points but flexed her dominance on the boards with an impressive 13 rebounds.

However, the game’s defining moment wasn’t in the score line but in a heated third-quarter exchange that had everyone talking. Sky’s Chennedy Carter stormed toward Caitlin Clark, delivering a shoulder shove that sent the Fever star crashing to the floor. To add fuel to the fire, it was observed that Carter muttered, “You b–ch,” just before the shove. The referees slapped Carter with a Flagrant 1 violation, awarding Clark a free throw, which she confidently sank.

But what really set the fans buzzing was Angel Reese’s reaction. Sharp-eyed viewers caught Reese seemingly celebrating Carter’s aggressive move against her rival, sparking even more drama in an already fiery rivalry. Nevertheless, despite all the tension and drama, the first showdown between Reese and Clark proved to be a nail-biter, ultimately ending in favor of the Iowa alum.

    3. Angel Reese’s revenge opportunity – (June 15, 2024)

Just a couple of weeks after their intense first matchup, the Fever and Sky were set to face off once more at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. After a narrow yet humiliating loss to her archrival Caitlin Clark, it seemed like Reese was out for revenge, determined to get the win. But once again, she and the Chicago Sky fell short, leaving fans disappointed and wondering what went wrong.

The Chicago Sky took another hit with a crushing 91-83 defeat. This time, it was Caitlin Clark who stole the spotlight, leading the Fever with an impressive 23 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds. Meanwhile, Reese improved from their last encounter, securing a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, but her scoring still fell short.

The Sky #5 couldn’t quite make the impact needed to change the outcome, leaving her quest for revenge unfinished. However, she’ll get another shot in just 10 days.

    2. Angel Reese’s comeback stunned as Caitlin Clark faces setback – (June 23, 2024)

In a twist of fate, the Fever and Sky clashed for the third time in the same month, and this time, it was supposed to be Angel Reese’s revenge. Unlike the previous matchups where the Fever had home-court advantage, this time they traveled to Wintrust Arena, hoping for a change in fortune. But guess what? The script stayed the same, and once again, the home team, Chicago, narrowly secured the win by just a single point (88-87).

Well, Reese who displayed a lackluster performance in past matchups, shone brightest on that night and recorded 25 points along with 16 rebounds. It was the game high indivicual score and also was part of Reese’s record breaking consecutive double-double streak. Clark fell short of Reese’s individual score and recorded 17 points. However, her playmaking didn’t fade away as she recorded 13 points as well.

Despite this being their final showdown before the All-Star break, the tension between these two rivals only intensified. Ironically, both players found themselves on the same team during the All-Star game. But when they faced off again in August, it wasn’t Reese who got to make a statement by tying the series. Instead, it was Clark’s Fever who handed the Sky their third loss in the four-game series, leaving Reese’s revenge still unfulfilled.

However, the most intense moment of this rivalry came long before they ever set foot in the WNBA. It all went down during March Madness, when Clark and Reese clashed on the college court in April.

    1. March Madness: The final showdown of their college rivalry – (April 1, 2024)

In April, LSU and Iowa were ready to clash in the Elite Eight of the NCAA tournament, and for Caitlin Clark, this was personal. After a crushing defeat in the 2023 Final to Angel Reese’s LSU, the Des Moines native was on a mission for revenge. And Clark delivered, leading Iowa to a dominant 94-87 victory over Kim Mulkey’s squad, sending LSU packing from the tournament.

Clark was on fire, dropping a jaw-dropping 41 points, along with 12 assists and 7 rebounds, completely overshadowing her rival. On the other hand, Angel Reese had a solid performance with 17 points and a double-double, pulling down 20 rebounds. But it was Clark who stole the show, leading Iowa to a stunning victory and setting records straight for 2023 loss.

While these five moments showcased the intensity of the Reese-Clark rivalry in 2024, their seasons ended in starkly different ways. A season-ending injury cut Reese’s campaign short in the final week of the regular season, while the Connecticut Sun knocked Clark and the Fever out in the first round, despite ending an 8-year playoff drought.

Clark’s undeniable impact on the league and the Fever’s performance ultimately earned her Rookie of the Year honors. Still, it begs the question: how will this fierce rivalry play out when they clash again in 2025?

The Kansas City Chiefs are preparing for a road trip to Cleveland in Week 15, set to face the 3-10 Cleveland Browns.

Before their matchup against the AFC foe, the NFL made an announcement regarding the Chiefs’ recent victory against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Kansas City hosted the Chargers on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 14, defeating the AFC West divisional rival, 19-17.

During the team’s victory over the Chargers, Kansas City running back Isiah Pacheco got away with a penalty, which was later reviewed by the league office.NFL Announces Harsh Punishment for Chiefs Star Isiah Pacheco...See Why

In the second quarter of the game, Pacheco received a check-down pass from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. When attempting to gain yardage on first down, Pacheco put his head down and forcibly hit the defender with helmet-to-helmet contact.

While there was no flag on the play in real time, Pacheco was later dealt a $45,020 fine from the NFL’s league office.

Despite the fine for Pacheco, the Chiefs have been thriving as of late. They’re headed into Week 15 with a 12-1 record, riding a three-game win streak as the No. 1 team in the AFC standings.

The Chiefs enter a game against the Browns as a 4.5-point favorite, per ESPN BET. ESPN’s Matchup Predictor gives Kansas City a 60% chance to defeat the Browns on Sunday.

That game will kick off at 1 p.m. ET on CBS Sports.

While Pacheco has continued to ease his way back into the lineup, after returning from injured reserve, he’s helped the ground game flourish in Kansas City.

Pacheco returned from a fractured fibula, which he suffered in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Mahomes and Kelce, like oil and water when faced with this unexpected situation

The Kansas City Chiefs continue to show their dominance in the defense of their Super Bowl title, consolidating their path to the playoffs with a resounding 29-10 Christmas victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field.

The three-peat dream lives on, while Travis Kelce made history with a touchdown that reinforces his legacy as one of the best tight ends in NFL history. Patrick Mahomes also shined with another stellar performance.

As Patrick and Travis were being interviewed after the game, the footballs decorating the stage in front of them hid a sweet surprise.

What really caught the eye was the complete opposite reaction from the Chiefs players. While Mahomes showed caution and preferred to avoid risks thinking about the playoffs, Kelce did not hesitate to go on the attack with enthusiasm.

Mahomes and Kelce: two opposite reactions to the same situation

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and tight end were interviewed on the field at the end of the game. In front of them, two footballs were part of the scenery, but in reality they were perfectly decorated red velvet cakes. Upon discovering it, both tried to open them, but Patrick Mahomes was quick to express his doubts: he admitted he was afraid and decided not to eat, justifying that he had to watch his weight for the playoffs. On the other hand, Travis Kelce did not think twice and took a big bite of the cake without any remorse.

This anecdote shows the contrasting personalities of these two Chiefs stars when facing the same situation: a red velvet cake.

On the ground, Patrick Mahomes threw for 320 yards and three touchdowns, while Travis Kelce caught eight passes for 84 yards. Kelce made history by becoming the third tight end to reach 1,000 receptions in the NFL, joining the legendary Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten. He also sealed Kansas City’s fifth consecutive victory with a 12-yard touchdown reception early in the fourth quarter. For his part, Mahomes broke another record by catching the most touchdown passes in his first eight seasons.

Kelce, 35, celebrated the victory by throwing the ball over the goalpost, which earned him an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. In contrast, Mahomes maintained his unblemished 4-0 record against the Steelers, racking up 17 touchdowns against just one interception in those games.

With the win, the Chiefs secured the top seed in the AFC and the coveted BYE in the first round of the playoffs, guaranteeing home-field advantage until a possible Super Bowl LIX at the New Orleans Saints’ Superdome.
