The pop star’s red leather thigh-high boots remind fans of ‘one thing and one thing only.’

After Taylor Swift arrived at Arrowhead Stadium to support boyfriend Travis Kelce during the first official game of the 2024 NFL season rocking “those boots,” her loyal fans were seemingly given reason to believe her decision to wear them was more than just a fashion choice but her way of sending a subtle message.

As Parade previously reported, the 14-time Grammy winner was seen making her way through the Chiefs’ home stadium in Kansas City, Mo., on Sept. 5 wearing a denim corset top and a pair of matching shorts. But it wasn’t so much her ensemble as it was the accessories that spoke to Swifties, more specifically, her pair of thigh-high leather statement boots in her signature shade of red.

In a TikTok video uploaded shortly after the “So High School” songstress was spotted at the game on Thursday, one Swiftie suggested that the 34-year-old pop superstar was wearing, if not the same pair, boots nearly identical to the ones she famously wore in her music video for “Look What You Made Me Do,” from her 2017 album reputation.

“If you saw Taylor Swift’s Chiefs game day opener outfit and immediately had deja vu, you are not alone,” the fan began before admitting after seeing the boots, they thought of “one thing and one thing only.”

The video then cuts to a screenshot of the Eras Tour artist’s music video in question, where the singer appears to be wearing the same boots. Though the fan noted that they hadn’t gotten solid confirmation the two were of the same cloth, the boots in the music video don’t appear until “she is literally in the vault, stealing back what should be hers, and saying that all she thinks about is karma.”

“Whether or not they are exactly the same,” the Swiftie continued, “they are certainly highly reminiscent of each other.”

“There is just absolutely no denying that these boots remind us all so much of the boots from the reputation music video,” the creator added, listing a few visible differences between the two pairs of red boots. “I’m not saying it necessarily means anything, but I’m also not saying that it doesn’t mean anything.”

Other fans of the record-breaking pop artist appeared to agree that a hidden message was wrapped up in the threads of Swift’s rather audacious outfit.

“We’re back baby! 🤡,” one TikToker replied, noting that “the double denim reminds me of the denim after party dress from last years VMAs 👀.”

“I honestly thought the denim on denim was serving more debut,” a second admitted. “so I feel like it’s all to confuse everybody as always.”

“And what is that purse that looks like a safe 😭😭😭,” someone else wrote.

The boots alone are not proof that a highly-awaited reputation-related announcement is coming, but fans are certainly hopeful.

Taylor Swift is back in her Chiefs era. And by that we mean she showed up to her first game of the season on Thursday night (September 5) to watch Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs play the Baltimore Ravens during the NFL Kickoff Game.

Taylor arrived at Arrowhead Stadium solo, wearing…wait for it…thigh high red boots and short-shorts. A MOMENT!

Pics and videos are still rolling in, but here’s what we have so far!

Taylor is currently in the midst of a full month off from the Eras Tour thanks to wrapping up the European leg a few weeks ago. She starts up again in the US and Canada next month, but for now she’s chilling in Kansas City with Travis—and catching up with friends!

In fact, the couple just spent a weekend in Rhode Island (reminder that Taylor owns a giant mansion there) with Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Brittany Mahomes, Patrick Mahomes, Jason Kelce, and Kylie Kelce.

“Taylor has been on tour and working nonstop and she loves the Rhode Island house and wanted to spend some time there while the weather is still good and she can enjoy it,” a source told Us Weekly of the trip. “It has felt wonderful to be grounded back home again. It’s been grounding to see friends and family and spend quality time with everyone, chat and get downloaded on everyone’s worlds because she has been so busy and disconnected.”

Excited for her downtime—especially if it involves more appearances at games!
