Raye has revealed she’s ‘so grateful’ to have opened for Taylor Swift‘s last London show of her Eras tour amid the megastar’s epic run at Wembley.

The singer, 26, was one of five acts picked to open for the American star, 34, when she took her tour to Wembley Stadium to perform five more sold-out nights from 15 August to 20 August.

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday following her big performance, Raye shared a carousel of images from this month, including several of her amazing on stage performances and one of her hugging Taylor.

Among the snaps, Raye shared a glimpse of the handwritten note penned by Taylor in which she says she a ‘massive fan’ of the Escapism hitmaker before thanking her for agreeing to open her show.

The message read: ‘Raye, I am such a massive fan of yours and have been for years. I can’t believe my luck, that you said ‘yes’ and are joining us for such an important night on The Eras Tour, our last night (in) Wembley! Thank you (from the) bottom of my heart.’

She made the comments as she introduced her song Ice Cream Man at the concert at Wembley Stadium in June.

The song is about Raye being sexually assaulted when she was 17 years old by a music producer, who forced his hand between her legs.

‘I wanted to sing this song for you today,’ Raye said. ‘I don’t quite know why. Maybe it’s because also, I need to sing this song for myself.

‘This is a really difficult subject matter. So when I got into the statistics and the statistics were that one in four women and men will will experience some form of sexual violence in their lifetime.’

Raye added: ‘And that is a quarter of you. That is 20,000 people in this place right now will relate to the words of this song which blows my mind because I know most of us are walking around pretending like everything’s fine – and sometimes it’s not.

‘Sometimes you need to be loud about things that you’ve been quiet about your whole life, and for me, the way that I can do that is in my music, so please excuse the sad subject of this song.’

At the end of the emotional track Raye said: ‘Thank you for bearing with me. Yeah, it’s a lot.’
