After setting a new record for most offensive rebounds in a single season in Chicago Sky history last week, Angel Reese achieved another huge milestone against the Connecticut Sun last night.

The former LSU standout became the second rookie in WNBA history to notch multiple 20-rebound games since Tina Charles did so in 2010 as a member of the Connecticut Sun. For additional context, only seven other players have several 20-rebound games in their WNBA career.

Angel Reese is also averaging 12.6 rebounds per game, which is the highest single-season average in league history thus far, especially since no other WNBA player has ever averaged at least 12 rebounds for a season.

But besides her rebounding, Angel Reese had another rough night shooting the basketball, as she finished with 13 points on 3-of-12 shooting. Despite playing a big role in the Chicago Sky’s second-half comeback, they fell short in the closing for an 82-80 defeat.

Chicago Sky looking to hold on to the final playoff spot

The Chicago Sky have slumped to an 11-17 record, good for the eighth seed, after suffering back-to-back losses against the Phoenix Mercury and the Connecticut Sun. With less than a month to go in the regular season, the Chicago Sky have to pick up the pace to book their tickets to the postseason.

Although Angel Reese is on her way to breaking more WNBA rebounding records to bolster her Rookie of the Year credentials against Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark, she needs to improve her field goal percentage by finishing better inside the paint.

The Chicago Sky will take on the Las Vegas Aces, who are currently the fifth seed, on Sunday.
