Anna Delvey Demands “On-Air Correction” From ‘The View’ After They Criticized Her ‘DWTS’ Casting: “Stay Nasty Ladies” (HG)

Convicted con artist and upcoming Dancing With The Stars contestant Anna Delvey did not appreciate the comments the ladies of The View made about her being cast on the ABC dance competition, and she is demanding they correct themselves “on-air.”

Delvey responded to a clip from their show, shared on X Sept. 5, in which Whoopi Goldberg and her View co-hosts criticized the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, for allowing her to participate on the show.

“I think back to all the families who’ve had family members arrested by ICE, who have gone to the courts to get their dad or their brother or their mother back, and this woman, they gave her permission to go do this?” Goldberg said. “Is there a two-tiered system with ICE?”

Later on in the conversation, Sunny Hostin compared Delvey to Gypsy-Rose Blanchard, though Alyssa Farah Griffin pointedly disagreed. “Gypsy-Rose did the time,” she said, before claiming that Delvey “still owes people money.”

In a response shared on X, Delvey wrote, “While you are entitled to your own opinions, you should at least get your facts straight. I served my time and paid everyone back in full 3+ years ago.”

She then added, “Looking forward to your on-air correction.”

Delvey later shared the same statement to the Page Six but added, “Stay nasty ladies, but don’t forget to vote September 17th!” That marks the day DWTS premieres live on ABC.

Delvey, whose real name is Anna Sorokin, was convicted in 2019 after she posed as a wealthy German heiress and scammed several people and businesses out of thousands of dollars. According to People, it was estimated that she stole around $275,000.

She was found guilty in 2019 on eight charges including grand larceny and ordered to pay restitution of around $199,000. She has since completed her prison time but was taken into custody by ICE for overstaying her visa. She is now living in New York City under house arrest but has received permission from ICE to compete on the dance show.

Her crimes were chronicled in the Netflix series Inventing Anna, with actress Julia Garner playing the fake heiress.

Now, Delvey is set to compete in Season 33 of Dancing With The Stars with Ezra Sosa.

What do you think? Post a comment.

“It’s just not that serious. If someone is that upset about casting on a dancing show, I don’t know what to tell them,” she told People.

Dancing With The Stars premieres Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. on ABC and Disney+.
