REPORT: NFL Apologizes, Admits They “Regret” Picking Kendrick Lamar For Super Bowl 59 Halftime Show

The NFL is understood to have regrets over their selection of Kendrick Lamar as the performer for this year’s Super Bowl halftime show.

Lamar headlined the break during last Sunday’s game between the Eagles and Chiefs, completing one of the more controversial halftime show performances as he used it to ramp up his beef with Drake.

The Compton rapper’s show broke a longstanding record as his performance was the most-watched in Super Bowl history. However, the NFL apologized for the decision in a letter to Lil Wayne.

The league had several options for the halftime show leading up to the season’s curtain closer, including the New Orleans native. They ended up going with Lamar instead.

Skip Bayless, a close friend of Wayne’s, claimed the NFL sent the hip-hop mogul a written apology ahead of the game. The U.S. Sun has since confirmed this.

“The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed that NFL bosses regretted snubbing New Orleans native Lil Wayne in favor of Grammy award-winning star Kendrick with sources now confirming an apology was sent over the choice,” the publication reported.

NFL Reportedly Considering Changes After Kendrick Lamar’s Performance

According to the outlet, league higher-ups are considering changes because they didn’t like the way the show was handled this year.

“We will push for change, as we don’t want to experience this kind of thing next season,” a source was quoted as saying. “The tension linked with Kendrick made us regret giving him the green light. I’m not the only one who thinks this way.”

There were also fears over potential backlash following Kendrick Lamar’s performance on Sunday, given that he doubled down on his pedophilia accusations against Drake. But the Canadian has yet to react.

Kai Cenat recently stirred some strong opinions on social media after he suggested that the NFL did something quite noticeable for Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance.

Cenat, a popular Twitch streamer, accused the NFL of pumping crowd noise into Kendrick’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show video.

“They add crowd effects, I did not know that,” Kai said.

Later in the stream, he also claimed that the crowd wasn’t making any noise during the parts that sounded loud in the video.

Neither the NFL nor Apple Music have addressed the streamer’s allegations.

Unfortunately for the NFL, he is not the only one who thinks that the league deceived everybody with showing Kendrick Lamar’s performance.

“They had to add CROWD noise to Kendrick’s uninspiring performance 😩🤣😩🤣,” one fan said.

“Confirmed the cheering was added, the producers were forced to use sweetening because the response from the crowd was poor. Like nobody in that arena who can afford those tickets listening to Kendrick music like that, then again, they mostly white, so it’s 50/50 😂💀,” another fan added.

“The way TV amplified the crowd noise during Kendrick’s performance was crazy. The real footage of that arena was quiet as f–k 😂,” a third fan stated.

One final fan added: “It is gonna be hilarious when the ppl find out they add crowd noise to all these shits lmfaooooo and not saying the crowd didn’t go up for Kendrick bc they def did, and anyone saying otherwise is a liar, but they 100% added crowd noise to the show like they did for everyone else.”

Drake Likes Video of Kai Cenat’s Allegations Against the NFL And Kendrick Lamar

YouTube star Kai Cenat claimed that Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show at the Super Bowl allegedly featured pumped-in crowd noise for television.

Cenat attended the Super Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana, and watched the performance when he returned home.

Cenat watched Lamar’s halftime show back, paused it, and said, “Oh my god, they added sound effects.”

His claim was liked by Lamar’s rap rival, Drake.
