Novak Djokovic’s draw for the 2024 US Open has sparked discussions among tennis fans, who feel the Serb has received a relatively easy draw compared to his contemporaries. Seeded second, the World No. 2 will be the defending champion and compete for an unprecedented 25th Grand Slam title at Flushing Meadows.

Djokovic finds himself in the bottom half of the draw alongside Alexander Zverev, whereas, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Daniil Medvedev are in the top half. The Serb’s quarter also features the 2020 US Open champion Dominic Thiem, sixth seed Andrey Rublev, ninth seed Grigor Dimitrov, and 13th seed Ben Shelton, to name a few.

Fans have expressed disappointment with the Serb’s ‘easy’ draw on X (formerly Twitter). One fan was in disbelief over the 24-time Major champion’s luck and observed how Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have been in the same half for three consecutive Majors.

“Djokovic’s luck is something else – Sinner & Alcaraz same half for the 3rd slam in a Row,” the fan commented.

Another fan pointed out that Alcaraz and Sinner had unfavorable draws, whereas the Serb had an ‘easy’ draw like always.

“Sinner and Alcaraz cooked in draws. Easy draw for Djokovic as usual,” the fan wrote.

Here are a few more reactions from the fans.

“Novak is the luckiest stat padder of all time,” a fan mentioned.

“How is that possible, man? Isn’t it abnormal that Djokovic is so great every time he draws? How are Sinner, Alcaraz and Medvedev always on the same side?” a fan questioned.

“Could Djokovic get an easier draw? Lol,” a fan quipped.

“Djokovics juj is unbeatable! Another easy draw,” a fan opined.

“Yeah, I mean, I’ve been waiting for that moment for basically my whole career and it’s been an incredible journey. Obviously, trials and tribulations and failing and hoping that one day, I’ll make it,” he said.

The World No. 2 finally won the elusive Olympic gold in Paris, becoming the fifth player in the Open Era to complete the career Golden Slam. He later forwent his Cincinnati Open title defense to rejuvenate himself before heading to the New York Major.
