Brook Lopez Discusses Play That Makes New Bucks Kyle Kuzma Similar to Giannis Antetokounmpo in 103-101 Win Over Wolves

It would be great if the Milwaukee Bucks can have two Giannis Antetokounmpo. They had none in the win over Minnesota Timberwolves but Brook Lopez thought Kyle Kuzma showed some shades of Greek Freak 2.0.

Lopez did not have his usual front court partner in the gutsy 103-101 win over Minnesota as the latter is recovering from a left calf strain.

There’s one play, however, that remind fans and reporters of the Greek Freak.

When the Greek Freak is in the floor, a transition offense is almost assured as long as they make a stop against the opponent.

Lopez will attempt the deflection and the Antetokounmpo will either ask rebound the ball or ask for it and try to make a run to the other basket. Instant two points.

That’s what Antetokounmpo can do and with him out since February 5, that does not happen a lot. They are missing his 31.8 points per game, his fastbreak points, playmaking, and rebounding.

It was different against the Wolves and Lopez thought Kuzma made the difference.

Reporters singled out that one play by Lopez when he blocked Jaden McDaniels and Kuzma caught the rebound, run it to their ring and scored.

Just like how Giannis does it.

When asked about it post game, Lopez said their new recruit can only add more ways to score for the team.

“I think it’s gonna make all the difference for us. We’ve obviously trended very experienced a lot and Kuz has experience, but he’s also a very energetic player that can get up and down the court quick, and that’s definitely gonna add another dimension to us.”

Kuzma got to play that part only because Antetokounmpo was out. It would be interesting how Doc Rivers will adjust his position once the two-time MVP returns.
