An old picture of Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider, Jon Bon Jovi and Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson recently surfaced.
Fanpage KISSopolis shared the picture on X, where the three are seen on the same stage together. When a user shared their confusion about why they were on the same stage together, another user explained, “Encores of Bon Jovi’s headlining set at Donington 1987… Bruce also announced that Iron Maiden would be headlining the following year, which Kiss ended up playing as well.”
When the first user once again asked “and Dee? was he just wandering around?,” other user replied with, “Most probably.”
This time, the user tagged Snider and asked for more context. Snider responded, “Ok. Jon Bon Jovi always likes to stack the deck (I get that). In every town he reaches out to a local hero to perform with his band. This was Donnington so he got a bunch of heroes to join them.”
The show took place in Monsters of Rock Festival in 1987. Starting in 1980 and coming to an end in 1996, the festival lineup included Bon Jovi, Dio, Metallica, Anthrax, W.A.S.P., Cinderella, and The Bailey Brothers that year. 65,000 people attended the festival.
