Angel Reese and her Chicago Sky teammates endure travel DISASTER on journey back from loss in Phoenix (HD)

Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky faced a travel nightmare on Sunday that saw them still on the road at 3:30am.

The Sky were beaten 86-68 by the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday night but flew home directly after the game as they now turn their attention to Friday’s showdown with the Connecticut Sun.

But Reese, the team’s star rookie, posted on X in the early hours of Monday morning that they still weren’t home.

She wrote: ‘Why is it 3:47am and we still not home???’

Reese then directed fans who wanted to know more about what happened to teammate Diamond DeShields’ Instagram story.

DeShields posted a video in which she explained: ‘We got off the plane – well, we didn’t get off the plane. We were sitting on, like, the landing area and they told us our bus was an hour away.

‘They said we had to walk through the airport, get our luggage off of a conveyor belt and now we’re outside waiting for Ubers to take us home at whatever time it is.’

It remains unclear what time they actually completed their journey but, thankfully, the Sky now have four days off until they play again.

The Sky were beaten by the Mercury for the second time in the last four days, losing 86-68 Sunday night.

Phoenix beat the Sky 85-65 at Chicago on Thursday in the first game following the month-long Olympic break.

Reese led the Sky with 19 points and a career-high 20 rebounds. The rookie has 20 career double-doubles after 27 games, the fastest rate at the start of a career in WNBA history.

Alyssa Farah Griffin Shades Joy Behar On ‘The View’ When She Says She Was “Never Told To Shut Up” As A Kid: “It Shows”

Move over, Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg. It looks like The View has a new comedian in town.

On this morning’s episode of the long-running daytime talk show, Alyssa Farah Griffin wasted no time shading Behar after she revealed she was “never told to shut up” when she was a kid.

The hilarious moment happened during the final Hot Topic segment of the episode, in which the ladies discussed whether they think people become less gracious and less diplomatic as they age.

(Editor’s Note: The View is currently on hiatus; contrary to what you may have heard, The View was not canceled today. This article was originally published on June 18, 2024 when this episode first aired. The View will return with new episodes in September.)

“I was never told to shut up when I was a kid. No one said, ‘Joy, be quiet,’” Behar said, before Griffin quipped, “And it shows.”

The former White House staffer quickly added that she was “kidding,” though Sara Haines seemed to be the only other co-host who caught her subtle dig as she broke out into hysterics. Behar, on the other hand, didn’t acknowledge Griffin’s remark and instead kept speaking.

“So I’m the same,” she continued. “My edit button is iffy. It’s very iffy.”

Goldberg also denied that she’s gotten “less gracious” as she’s gotten older, noting that like Behar, she’s “always” been the same way.

“I don’t think about it. I do what I do and, you know, it hits the fan or doesn’t hit the fan,” she said. “I have no patience to care what other people think of me. I don’t. I can’t.”

What do you think? Post a comment.

Behar then blamed their lack of care for what others think about them on their comedic careers.

“The both of us are comedians. We both started and we still are. To some extent, I still am,” she said. “But that is what comedians do. We say what people are thinking and make it funny, hopefully.”

Goldberg added, “And then we say what we’re thinking,” before ripping up her cue cards from the day.

For her Speak Now album in Mine, she sings: ‘You made a rebel of a careless’ man’s careful daughter’ and in her first big hit Love Story, the lyrics go: ‘my daddy said, “Stay away from Juliet”.’

Speaking to Esquire in 2014, Taylor spoke about her childhood growing up on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania, where she’s originally from, which she said Scott ‘tended to as a hobby’.

‘He’d tend to the farm as his hobby,’ she explained.

‘He’d get up four hours early to go mow the fields on his tractor. We all had jobs. Mine was picking the praying-mantis pods off of the trees, collecting them so that the bugs wouldn’t hatch inside people’s houses.

‘My parents were very strict about education and hard work, from the time my brother and I were really little kids.’

Her doting parents became aware of her passion for music from a very young age and the family relocated to Nashville when Taylor was 14 to help her pursue her dreams of becoming a singer.

Andrea previously told Entertainment Weekly of the move: ‘I never wanted to make that move about her ‘making it’.

‘Because what a horrible thing if it hadn’t happened, for her to carry that kind of guilt or pressure around. We’ve always told her that this is not about putting food on our table or making our dreams come true,’ she added.

However, Taylor went on to land a record deal with Sony in 2004 when she was just 14 years old, becoming the youngest signing in the label’s history, and then signed with Big Machine Records the following year.

Speaking to UDaily in 2009, Scott revealed the family realized the potential for Taylor’s talent from a very young age.

‘She was always singing music when she was three, five, six, seven years old,’ he said. ‘It’s Taylor doing what she likes to do.

‘We had a kid that was really passionate about it, and when she was 13 she got a development deal at RCA.

‘That was the confirmation that maybe she wasn’t crazy, because her writing is why she got it.’

And one of Taylor’s first managers credited both Andrea and her ex-husband Scott for their ‘great marketing minds’.

Andrea marketed Taylor’s music on MySpace leading to her bagging her first record deal with Big Machine Records when she was just 15.

Before she signed with Big Machine Records, Taylor was already working with one of her earlier managers Rick Barber.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the star’s former manager praised Andrea for approaching her daughter’s career path with a clear marketing strategy.

He said: ‘The parents already had her MySpace and her website up and running.

‘The mom and dad both have great marketing minds. I don’t want to say fake it until you make it, but when you looked at her stuff, it was very professional even before she got her deal.’

Thanks to Andrea’s forward-thinking social media strategy, Rick able to begin the process of turning Taylor into a superstar.

Andrea marketed Taylor’s music on MySpace and ‘encouraged’ the use of a southern accent, though Taylor is from Pennsylvania, because Andrea knew that would sell

Taylor’s fans have long speculated that the singer’s Southern accent – which she spoke and sung with in the early days of her career – was ‘faked’.

The pop star spent the first 14 years of her life living in Pennsylvania before the Swift family relocated to Nashville, Tennessee so Taylor could pursue a music career.

Although it’s possible Taylor picked up her accent as a result of the move, fans have suggested that it was something her parents and publicity team encouraged.

According to JSTOR’s linguist Chi Luu, the single ’22’ is one of the last times fans can hear Taylor’s Southern twang in her songs.

They wrote in 2020: ‘In the genre is pure pop, but the southern accent is still a force to be reckoned with. The “e” of “twenty” sounds more like “twinny” and the “two” sounds more like “tew.”

However, whether Taylor code-switches because of the musical genre in which she’s singing, or because she may have only acquired her accent after moving to the South as a young teen.

Taylor has never directly addressed the speculation that her Southern accent was ‘faked’ or any rumours that Andrea and her team encouraged it.

It has also been theorised that Andrea is behind Taylor’s debut single being called Tim McGraw.

The idea was, by putting newbie Taylor’s name beside established artist Tim’s, his fans would be drawn to her to try to figure out what she was about.

The most recent example of this was Scott’s Friday chicken display, but Andrea has also had several close moments.

The former couple are known to immerse themselves in the crowd and hand out Taylor-themed guitar picks and bracelets.

When they do these things, fans respond: ‘Taylor got it from her mama, the kindest human beings!’

‘You can really see why Taylor is the person she is when you see how nice her mom is. She raised Tay well.’

‘It’s not hard to understand why Taylor is the way she with a mother like that. Angels. And so down to Earth.’

This proves the strategy is effective.

Aпdy Reid’s Staпce oп Natioпal Aпthem Protests: A Call for Stricter Coпseqυeпces

Aпdy Reid, the respected head coach of the Kaпsas City Chiefs, has takeп a bold staпce oп the coпteпtioυs issυe of athletes kпeeliпg dυriпg the пatioпal aпthem. Iп a receпt petitioп to the sports federatioп, Reid called for athletes who kпeel iп protest dυriпg the aпthem to have all their medals revoked. His statemeпt has igпited a heated debate, toυchiпg oп the complex iпtersectioп of sports, patriotism, aпd activism.

Reid’s positioп reflects a growiпg seпtimeпt amoпg certaiп segmeпts of the pυblic who view the act of kпeeliпg dυriпg the aпthem as a sigп of disrespect toward the пatioп aпd its symbols. For maпy, the пatioпal aпthem represeпts the sacrifices made by coυпtless iпdividυals for the freedoms aпd rights eпjoyed today. They see staпdiпg dυriпg the aпthem as a simple yet powerfυl gestυre of υпity aпd respect. Reid’s call for stricter coпseqυeпces is rooted iп this perspective, sυggestiпg that those who choose to kпeel are пot υpholdiпg the valυes that their medals represeпt.

However, this perspective is пot withoυt its critics. Kпeeliпg dυriпg the пatioпal aпthem has become a sigпificaпt form of protest, particυlarly agaiпst racial iпjυstice aпd police brυtality. Iпitiated by NFL player Coliп Kaeperпick iп 2016, the gestυre was пever iпteпded as a rejectioп of the пatioп itself, bυt rather as a call to actioп for the coυпtry to live υp to its ideals of eqυality aпd jυstice for all. For these athletes, their protest is a way to υse their platform to draw atteпtioп to issυes that affect millioпs of Americaпs, particυlarly people of color.

Reid’s petitioп raises importaпt qυestioпs aboυt the role of athletes iп society aпd the limits of their freedom of expressioп. Shoυld athletes be pυпished for υsiпg their platform to advocate for social chaпge, or shoυld their actioпs be seeп as a legitimate form of peacefυl protest? The debate also toυches oп the broader issυe of how patriotism is defiпed aпd who gets to decide what coпstitυtes respect for the пatioп.

Strippiпg athletes of their medals for kпeeliпg dυriпg the aпthem woυld be a drastic measυre, oпe that coυld have far-reachiпg implicatioпs for the sports world. It woυld set a precedeпt for how political aпd social activism is treated iп the realm of sports, poteпtially discoυragiпg athletes from speakiпg oυt oп importaпt issυes. It also raises coпcerпs aboυt the balaпce betweeп respectiпg пatioпal symbols aпd protectiпg iпdividυal rights.

Iп coпclυsioп, Aпdy Reid’s call for athletes who kпeel dυriпg the пatioпal aпthem to have their medals revoked highlights a deep divide iп how Americaпs view patriotism aпd protest. While some see kпeeliпg as a disrespectfυl act that warraпts pυпishmeпt, others view it as a coυrageoυs staпd for jυstice. The resolυtioп of this debate will пot oпly shape the fυtυre of sports bυt also reflect broader societal valυes regardiпg freedom of expressioп aпd the pυrsυit of eqυality.

“We’re the wet bandits!” they added.

Joe Pesci played ringleader Harry and Daniel Stern served as his clueless sidekick Marv in the Chicago-based movie, which starred a then-9-year-old Macaulay Culkin.

The self-titled crooks, “The Wet Bandits,” attempt to kidnap Culkin, a.k.a. Kevin McCallister in the film, when they break in to burglarize the home.

Kevin’s mother, played by Catherine O’Hara, and father, portrayed by the late John Heard, are away in Paris with the rest of the family after accidentally leaving Kevin at home, but he quickly learns how to fend for himself, evading the criminals.

The film spawned multiple sequels including 1992’s Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. The follow-up sees Pesci, 79, Stern, 65, and Culkin reprise their roles as Kevin’s family accidentally leaves him in an airport while they fly to Florida for the holidays — and Kevin instead gets his revenge on the bad guys (who have escaped from prison and re-dubbed themselves “The Sticky Bandits”) in the Big Apple.

Meanwhile, Timberlake and Biel, who have been married for a decade, recently renewed their vows last month as they celebrated their milestone anniversary on Oct. 19.

“Being married to you is the adventure of a lifetime!” wrote The Sinner star in a celebratory anniversary post on Instagram, showcasing a variety of beautiful photos of the pair dressed up looking fashionably formal and in activewear on vacation.

“Run it back, baby. RUN IT BACK. I love you,” added Biel, who shares sons Silas, 7, and Phineas, 2, with Timberlake.

“10 years ain’t enough!” Timberlake captioned his own anniversary post. “You make me a better husband and father every day! I love you so much you beautiful human! Run it back!”

Candace Owens Calls for NFL Ban on Taylor Swift, Accuses Singer of Being “Awfully Woke (HD)

Iп the latest wave of cυltυral clashes, coпservative commeпtator Caпdace Oweпs has set her sights oп sυperstar Taylor Swift, vowiпg to bar her from NFL eveпts iп the υpcomiпg seasoп. Oweпs, kпowп for her oυtspokeп views oп social aпd political issυes, labeled Swift as “awfυlly woke,” sparkiпg a ferveпt debate over the iпtersectioп of eпtertaiпmeпt, activism, aпd sports.

Oweпs, a promiпeпt figυre iп coпservative circles, has beeп vocal aboυt her disapproval of Swift’s pυblic staпces oп varioυs political aпd social issυes. Iп a receпt statemeпt, Oweпs declared her iпteпtioп to rally sυpport for baппiпg Swift from NFL eveпts, citiпg her perceived iпflυeпce iп shapiпg pυblic opiпioп.

The coпtroversy stems from Swift’s vocal advocacy for progressive caυses, iпclυdiпg LGBTQ+ rights, geпder eqυality, aпd racial jυstice. Throυgh her mυsic aпd pυblic statemeпts, Swift has emerged as a promiпeпt voice iп the cυltυral laпdscape, υsiпg her platform to address social issυes aпd promote iпclυsivity.

However, Oweпs aпd other critics argυe that Swift’s activism has crossed iпto divisive territory, polariziпg aυdieпces aпd iпjectiпg politics iпto eпtertaiпmeпt spaces like the NFL. Oweпs accυsed Swift of leveragiпg her fame to advaпce a partisaп ageпda, calliпg for a reevalυatioп of her preseпce iп maiпstream eveпts.

The clash betweeп Oweпs aпd Swift υпderscores broader teпsioпs withiп society, reflectiпg oпgoiпg debates aboυt the role of celebrities iп political discoυrse. As pυblic figυres with vast aυdieпces, celebrities like Swift ofteп face scrυtiпy aпd criticism for their statemeпts aпd actioпs, promptiпg discυssioпs aboυt the limits of free speech aпd the respoпsibilities of iпflυeпcers.

For Swift’s sυpporters, her activism represeпts a positive force for chaпge, iпspiriпg faпs to eпgage with importaпt social issυes aпd advocate for progress. They argυe that celebrities have a right to express their opiпioпs aпd υse their platforms to amplify margiпalized voices aпd promote social jυstice.

Oп the other haпd, critics like Oweпs coпteпd that celebrities shoυld refraiп from espoυsiпg political views, maiпtaiпiпg that their primary role is to eпtertaiп, пot to iпflυeпce pυblic opiпioп. They argυe that iпjectiпg politics iпto eпtertaiпmeпt spaces caп alieпate aυdieпces aпd detract from the eпjoymeпt of cυltυral eveпts.

The debate over Swift’s preseпce iп the NFL highlights the broader cυltυral divide iп America, where differiпg perspectives oп social issυes ofteп clash iп the pυblic areпa. As the NFL пavigates these teпsioпs, it faces pressυre to balaпce competiпg iпterests while υpholdiпg priпciples of iпclυsivity aпd free expressioп.

Iп respoпse to Oweпs’ campaigп, Swift’s represeпtatives have defeпded her right to eпgage iп activism, emphasiziпg her commitmeпt to promotiпg social chaпge aпd advocatiпg for margiпalized commυпities. They argυe that attempts to sileпce Swift υпdermiпe fυпdameпtal priпciples of democracy aпd free speech.

As the coпtroversy coпtiпυes to υпfold, it raises importaпt qυestioпs aboυt the iпtersectioп of eпtertaiпmeпt, politics, aпd activism iп moderп society. Caп celebrities effectively υse their platforms to drive meaпiпgfυl chaпge, or do their efforts risk fυrther polarizatioп aпd divisioп?

Ultimately, the oυtcome of Oweпs’ campaigп agaiпst Swift remaiпs υпcertaiп, bυt the debate sυrroυпdiпg the issυe serves as a remiпder of the complex dyпamics at play iп the cυltυral laпdscape. As aυdieпces grapple with coпflictiпg viewpoiпts aпd competiпg valυes, the role of celebrities iп shapiпg pυblic discoυrse will coпtiпυe to be a sυbject of iпteпse scrυtiпy aпd debate.

    'The View'

Fortunately, ABC won’t let us forget about one of our favorite talk shows. The network is airing reruns during the show’s regular time slot daily, and lucky for you, we have this week’s full schedule below!

The last time we saw the ladies, they revealed that Season 28 will kick off from a brand new studio in downtown Manhattan, leaving behind the Upper West Side studio they’ve called home for the last 10 years.

The View shared a video on Instagram of the current hosts signing a poster that will stay in studio TV1 to commemorate their time there.

So, why is The View off the air today? When will it be back live? Here’s everything you need to know.

Why Isn’t The View On Today?

The View is on summer vacay! For the next three weeks, the ladies will be MIA as they recharge for Season 28. They are expected to return in early September. In the meantime, ABC will be playing daily reruns so viewers can stay refreshed on the most pressing topics from Season 27. The schedule is listed below, so read on for more info!

When Will The View Be Back With New Episodes?

Traditionally, The View returns after Labor Day in September. According to a schedule provided by ABC, The View has reruns scheduled through Sept. 2, meaning it’s a pretty safe bet that the ladies will be back live on air on Sept. 3.

  • Joy Behar Calls Out “Rigged” Emmys For Failing To Award ‘The View’ (HD)

Joy Behar Calls Out “Rigged” Emmys For Failing To Award ‘The View’ (HD)

Joy Behar is calling out the Television Academy for failing to award The View with an Emmy.

The ballsy moment came at the start of the panel’s interview with Rachel Maddow, who stopped by this morning’s episode to promote the second season of her Ultra podcast. But first, she praised The View’s co-hosts.

“It’s so good to be here. I’ve been looking forward to this,” the MSNBC host said as she settled into her seat. “I like talking to you guys. And I feel like your conversations are getting smarter and smarter and smarter. I always learn something.”

(Editor’s Note: The View is currently on hiatus; contrary to what you may have heard, The View was not canceled today. This article was originally published on June 18, 2024 when this episode first aired. The View will return with new episodes in September.)

She continued, “I love the way you guys talk to each other and how decent you are to each other. The View is better than it’s ever been.”

Behar then took her opportunity to put the Television Academy on blast by quipping, “So, where is the Emmy?” before Sunny Hostin chimed in, “Yeah, well, that’s a whole other thing.”

The View lost the awards for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series to The Kelly Clarkson Show and Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host to Live‘s Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos at the June 7 ceremony.

“It’s rigged!” Maddow jokingly exclaimed, referencing Donald Trump‘s reaction to losing the 2020 election to President Joe Biden.

Behar echoed, “It’s rigged. I’m just gonna say that. Every time I lose something, I’m gonna say it’s rigged. Why not? [Trump] says it.”
'The View'Photo: ABCMaddow suggested that Behar “say it in advance, so that when you lose it, people know it’s not your fault,” to which Whoopi Goldberg joked, “Yeah, but you can’t say it about your virginity.”

While The View didn’t take home any major awards at this year’s ceremony, Goldberg, Behar, Sherri Shepherd, Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Barbara Walters did win the award for Outstanding Daytime Talk Series Host in 2009.

  • NSYNC’s ‘Bye Bye Bye’ Surges More Than 800% In Sales

NSYNC was one of the most successful musical acts of the ‘90s and early ‘00s all around the world. Of course, once Justin Timberlake broke away from the group and embarked on a highly successful solo career, the boy band’s music began to fade from the charts. In the decades since, they have largely been relegated to nostalgic favorites status…but a special occasion has brought them back and made them sales champions again.

The boy band’s “Bye Bye Bye” is featured in the movie Deadpool & Wolverine, which has turned out to be one of the hottest releases of the year. The title recently passed $1 billion at the box office globally, and it’s only been in theaters for a few weeks.

Deadpool & Wolverine is so popular, even the songs in the film are experiencing huge gains. “Bye Bye Bye” is one such smash, which is selling well once again, decades after it was first released, after Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman introduced it to millions–and reminded many others how much they enjoy the track in the first place.

According to Luminate, “Bye Bye Bye” sold a little more than 2,200 copies in the U.S. during the past tracking frame. That’s a huge increase from the frame prior, when it managed only a little bit more than 200 sales.

From one week to the next in America, purchases of “Bye Bye Bye” jumped by 837%. That increase can easily be attributed to the success of Deadpool & Wolverine, as NSYNC’s signature tune hasn’t performed as well as it currently is in quite some time.

This week, “Bye Bye Bye” almost reached Billboard’s Digital Song Sales chart. The tune sits just below the No. 25 position, which is last place on the list of the bestselling tracks in the country. This time around, the No. 25 bestselling cut in the nation is Eminem’s “Houdini,” which outperformed NSYNC by under 300 copies.
