  • Ex-Celtics Star Apologises to Caitlin Clark, Backtracks on Harsh Claim After WNBA Star’s Record-Breaking Display

Ex-Celtics Star Apologises to Caitlin Clark, Backtracks on Harsh Claim After WNBA Star’s Record-Breaking Display

Love her or hate her, but if you have even an ounce of interest in basketball, there is no ignoring Caitlin Clark. And former NBA star Evan Turner has gone through both phases — from criticizing the fever rookie to complimenting her.

“Caitlin Clark the sauce. I owe her an apology,” Turner wrote in a recent post on X. The former Boston Celtics star had earlier bashed Clark for the higher amount of attention and hype she attracts over Angel Reese. There is no denying that both the WNBA rookies have contributed to the task they were entrusted with — increasing the WNBA popularity among the audience.

But it’s no secret that Clark has enjoyed a higher popularity from her last college season itself. The peak of this was visible during the NCAA run. Although Reese has also frequented the media headlines, her popularity is lacking in comparison to the Fever rookie. And the pre-existing rivalry between the two does no good for this situation.

It was amid all of this that Turner came down on Clark stating, “She getting so much [attention]. I’m getting tired of seeing her a**.” Meanwhile, the ex-Celtics star extended his support for Reese, as he believes she has shown up and led the whole thing with the WNBA with grace. “She put on for the WNBA and then once again it proved that it wasn’t too much for her. Because she came right back out the next night and had a hell of a performance,” he said.

However, the former NBA star seemed to backtrack on his words after the recent matchup. The Fever rookie scored an impressive 31 points and 12 assists to lead her team to a 100-81 win. Meanwhile, Reese could manage just 10 points but 11 rebounds for her team.

Neither Angel Reese nor Caitlin Clark are focusing on the Rookie of the Year award

Given the rivalry between the two from their college days, it’s only natural for fans and media to assume that both players will be aiming to claim Rookie of the Year. While the honor either way means a recognition of the fresh talent, in this scenario it could establish the higher ground of one over the other.

However, contrary to popular belief, both WNBA rookies have denied any major ambitions regarding the award. “I think me and Angel would both give you the same answer, we don’t wake up and think about individual awards,” Clark said during a recent media interaction. She further pointed out that it’s the media who believes this way and therefore similar articles.

In a rare moment of agreement, even Reese gave her approval to Clark’s opinion on the entire thing. “We don’t either care about the Rookie of the Year… I think you guys have made it a big thing,” she said. But there is no denying that even if the two players don’t care for it, the fans will be rooting for their favorite rookie. As per the majority of reports, Caitlin Clark is leading the ROTY race as of now. And it seems even former critic Evan Turner would have no objections to this now.

  • Carmelo Anthony’s Son Kiyan Gets in Touch With Roots as La La Whisks Son Away for Heartfelt Reunion

Carmelo Anthony’s Son Kiyan Gets in Touch With Roots as La La Whisks Son Away for Heartfelt Reunion

It’s clear that Kiyan Anthony shares a lot more with his dad, Carmelo Anthony than just his height and basketball skills.

Much like his famous father, Kiyan wears his heart on his sleeve—literally. In a move reminiscent of Carmelo’s own sentimental side, Kiyan recently got a tattoo to honor his mother, La La Anthony. It’s no secret that La La and Kiyan have an unbreakable bond, with La La cherishing every moment she can spend with her son before his budding basketball career takes him away.

La La took to Instagram to share some joyful moments from their family getaway to La Placita de Santurce in Puerto Rico. The pictures capture a night of dancing, laughter, and Kiyan soaking up his cultural roots. “La familia, “ she captioned the post.

    Article continues below this ad

    What’s your reaction?

Isn’t it heartwarming to see Kiyan Anthony reconnect with his roots? React!

Their relationship is more than just that of a mother and son. Kiyan is also La La’s protector. How? In a candid chat on the Jennifer Hudson Show, La La joked about how Kiyan checks her phone like a hawk, keeping tabs on who she’s talking to. “I’m like, it’s my dad in the house or something,” she laughed, highlighting the unique yet heartwarming dynamic between them. But Kiyan doesn’t stop at just playing the phone police.

He’s all about keeping his mom all to himself, even if that means she stays single forever. “I’m like, ‘You just want your mom to be alone? Like, forever?’ He’s like, ‘Kind of,’” La La recalled. Meanwhile, when his friends call, he’s out the door in a flash, leaving her behind without a second thought.

Yet, Kiyan’s fierce loyalty isn’t just reserved for his mom; it extends to his father as well. Just like Carmelo, Kiyan isn’t afraid to wear his emotions proudly.

Kiyan follows in dad Carmelo Anthony’s footsteps

Just last month, Kiyan Anthony made headlines when InkedNBA shared an Instagram post of the teenager getting some fresh ink. But this wasn’t just any tattoo—it was a heartfelt message dedicated to his mom, La La Anthony. “Dear Mom, you continuously put me before yourself. You are my why. I thank God for you every day,” reads the touching script, accompanied by a portrait of La La on his forearm.

Not surprisingly, Kiyan’s passion for tattoos mirrors that of his dad. Carmelo Anthony is no stranger to body art, boasting more than 20 tattoos that reflect his journey, beliefs, and, most importantly, his family.

Carmelo’s most meaningful tattoos are the ones dedicated to Kiyan. He’s got his son’s full name, “Kiyan Carmelo Anthony,” proudly inked on his right pec, along with Kiyan’s birthdate, “March 7, 2007.” And Melo also has his son’s tiny footprints etched on his chest—a constant reminder of the bond they share.

Carmelo’s connection to his roots also shines through his tattoos. On his right hand, he proudly sports the Puerto Rican flag, a tribute to his father’s heritage.

  • Celtics News: Insider Details Lonnie Walker IV’s Misery in Shocking Boston Decision Despite Spurs Reunion Buzz

Celtics News: Insider Details Lonnie Walker IV’s Misery in Shocking Boston Decision Despite Spurs Reunion Buzz

With a nearly $70 million luxury tax bill, the Boston Celtics still managed to sign a player. It’s not the defending champions need any upgrades to their roster. Their starting lineup is arguably the most accomplished in the NBA today. But in trying to defend their title, some changes have to be made. So the Celtics got their hands on someone who has shocked some media veterans.

The newest member, or at least a part of the camp is Lonnie Walker IV. The folks over on the Celtics Beat show couldn’t believe how no other team offered a contract to the athletic guard. The bigger question though was why the Celtics? They have a stacked roster with virtually no room for another rotation piece. However, the 82-game season is long, and Steve Bulpett believes the 18-time champions have signed him as “insurance”.

    USA Today via Reuters

“Realize this. If Lonnie Walker were better, more interested defensively, he wouldn’tbe available to the Celtics for an Exhibit 10 contract. So he’s got to alter his thinking there and buy in and all those fun things. He’s there as a pretty nice insurance policy. If one of the wings gets hurt. If there is some kind of injury there and he’s around, he’s in the fold ready to go. It’s a no-brainer move. I am kind of surprised and I’m not sure whether other options were available to him. But I am kind of surprised that he would take an Exhibit 10 from the Celtics,” Bulpett explained.

Just 25 years old, Walker played for the Brooklyn Nets last season on a $2 million contract. From the tangibles, his shooting number stood out, creating his appeal within the Celtics front office. But they haven’t incorporated him yet. The franchise has offered him an Exhibit 10 contract allowing them to evaluate his fit until the season starts.

His decision came amidst there being some news about a reunion with Greg Popovich in San Antonio. Walker had an encouraging few years with the franchise, at his peak averaging 12.1 points in 2021-22.

Lonnie Walker IV might go full throttle with the Celtics

Before admitting his surprise over Walker signing an Exhibit 10 contract, Bulpett also noted some vital changes the budding guard will have to make. He hinted how a conscious inclination toward playing defense would have rampantly increased his value in the league. In the first few years, maybe Lonnie Walker IV looked to carve his image by being an exhilarating scoring wing.

But since last season his mentality has seen a drastic switch. Being on a minimum contract last season motivated him to play with a chip on his shoulder. Walker wanted to make the most of the opportunities he got. Why? To finally call a team his home.

Behind the glitz, Rihanna also struggles to care for her two sons, Rza and Riot. Rihanna’s real-life motherhood isn’t easy.

In the world of shimmering lights and ceaseless paparazzi, global superstar Rihanna faces her own set of challenges as a mother to two sons, Rza and Riot. Known for her electrifying performances and fashion statements, the Barbadian singer’s journey through motherhood paints a picture far removed from the glamour often showcased.

At a recent event, Rihanna opened up about the struggles she faces in balancing her demanding career with the responsibilities of motherhood. “It’s like learning a whole new area of life,” Rihanna confessed, highlighting that despite having resources, the emotional and physical toll is substantial.

Rza and Riot, though seldom in the limelight, are at ages where constant attention and guidance are paramount. Rihanna, who has always been vocal about her desire to be a hands-on parent, admits that juggling studio sessions and business ventures with bedtime stories and school runs can be overwhelming. “Some days it feels like I’m being pulled in a hundred different directions,” she said.

The singer also touched on the societal pressures that come with being a public figure and a mother. “There’s this unrealistic expectation to be a perfect mom and a career woman,” Rihanna explained. The scrutiny is magnified by her status, where every decision is under intense observation and often subject to criticism.

Despite the challenges, Rihanna is determined to give Rza and Riot a grounded upbringing, far from the glitz of her public life. She is keen on instilling values such as humility and hard work in her sons, hoping they grow up with a sense of normalcy amidst the extraordinary circumstances of their upbringing.

This glimpse into Rihanna’s life as a mother shows that behind the dazzling appearances and award-winning tracks lies a woman grappling with the universal dilemmas of parenthood, striving to do her best in both her professional and personal life.

While Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro appear carrying their own boxes, Joy Behar refuses, adding, “Let Alyssa do it.”

Alyssa Farrah Griffin then appears carrying two boxes, as she jokes, “Sure! I’m used to heavy lifting; I’m a Republican on The View.”

The preview also revealed just when the show will be back on the air: Tuesday, Sept. 3.

The View took a brief summer hiatus after Season 27, but now it looks like the ladies will be returning to the table this fall to debate the “Hot Topics.”

They announced the big move downtown during the Season 27 finale, which aired Aug. 2.

“After 10 years and 2,143 episodes, this is also the last show we’ll do from this studio,” Hostin announced on the show. She added that they were “sad to say goodbye” to their studio of 10 years.

She later called out her fellow co-hosts for how many things they were bringing to the new studio.

“We’ve had to for the past couple of weeks box up things, get rid of things,” Hostin said. “We were allotted, each host, five huuuuge cartons. I took up two, Sara took up all five and was looking for more. And Ana, please don’t say that you were a purger, because I think you had over 50 pairs of shoes in your room.

Navarro replied, “I’m feeling attacked! They are all my shoes, I love all my shoes! I have no children, my children are my shoes. I’m a childless shoe lady!”

Scooter Braun ENRAGES AUDIENCES audiences after 'taking away Taylor Swift's lifetime achievement' for $300 million, yet still pretends to be the victim in a cryptic post.

Scooter Braun has incited a storm of controversy after allegedly orchestrating a $300 million deal that many fans believe resulted in the loss of Taylor Swift’s lifetime achievement recognition. The conflict centers around Braun’s acquisition of Swift’s former record label, which included the masters of her early albums. Swift has been vocal about her frustration with the situation, feeling that Braun’s actions were a direct attack on her artistic legacy.

The backlash intensified when Braun shared a cryptic post on social media, suggesting he was being unfairly targeted and misunderstood. The post, which seemed to frame him as the victim, did little to quell the anger of Swift’s supporters, who have long been critical of Braun’s handling of the situation.

Fans and industry insiders have expressed their outrage, arguing that Braun’s actions are a stark example of how business decisions can overshadow the rights and achievements of artists. The debate has reignited discussions about the ethical responsibilities of those in power within the music industry.

As the situation develops, many are calling for increased transparency and fairness in the management of artists’ rights, urging a reevaluation of how such conflicts are handled in the future.

Chicago Sky player Diamond DeShields committed a hard foul on Caitlin Clark that sent the rookie star to the floor Friday night.

During the Fever’s 100-81 win over the Sky, DeShields lost her footing and crashed into Clark.

DeShields held her hands up as she knocked into Clark in an attempt to avoid a foul, but it was called anyway due to the impact of the hit. Clark went flying forward across the hardwood. Then DeShields offered to help Clark up. The foul was later upgraded to a flagrant 1.

The clip of the foul drew criticism from many WNBA fans on social media.

After the game, DeShields posted a screenshot of her notifications list on Instagram, which included a string of hate comments from a user. The comments were about a tumor DeShields overcame in 2020. That year, she was diagnosed with a benign tumor on her spinal cord in 2020. She risked paralysis when she had it surgically removed and suffered painful tremors while recovering from the procedure, according to Yahoo Sports.

Over her screenshot of the comments, DeShields wrote, “Thank you God for covering me , I pray [you] cover those who wish harm unto me as well.”

“Let me be crystal clear: I do not choose headlines or back page photos for the Sun-Times,” Annie Costabile wrote on X. “The story I wrote was one about the Sky and Fever for that matter being two very different teams since the All-Star break.”

The incident was the latest in a string of hostile moments between Clark and members of the Sky this season.

Clark took an infamous illegal hip check from Chicago Sky forward Chennedy Carter June 1. Carter then refused to answer questions about the incident at the postgame press conference but used her social media to repeatedly criticize Clark.

Clark took another questionable hit to the head from Sky rookie and longtime college rival Angel Reese June 16.

Sky coach Theresa Witherspoon even called out Clark publicly to the media, saying “nobody talks more crap than Caitlin” to reporters June 27.

Families on trips to Disneyland may have unwittingly found themselves floating through the ashes of Whoopi Goldberg’s mother on the classic It’s a Small World ride.

Goldberg disclosed that she and her late brother, Clyde, spread her mother’s ashes inside the beloved Disney attraction shortly after she died in 2010.

“No one should do this. Don’t do it,” Goldberg, 68, cautioned during the July 10 episode of “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”

“She loved Small World. So, in the Small World ride, periodically, I’d scoop some of her up and I’d do this poof, and I said, ‘My God, this cold is getting worse and worse!’ And then we got over to the flowers where it says, ‘Disneyland’ and I was like, ‘Oh, look at that! Poof.’”

“It was her vision of what human beings should be, these children of the world: all colors, religions, and cultures together. Disney had made it seem possible that all the kids of the world would hold hands in unity,” Goldberg wrote.

“The day Clyde and I took her ashes to Disneyland, it’s possible a lot of her went into the Small World ride, her favorite. We were subtle about it, kind of sneezing Ma out here and there when no one was looking,” she continued. “We didn’t get caught, but I confessed it later to a park employee. They weren’t surprised, and they certainly were not happy about it.”

Through the years, he became one of the most famous people in the world with his music. NSYNC was his first big break, but he eventually became a solo artist. He earned enough money as a popular figure to help him accrue enough money to support the Grizzlies as a minority owner.

He further strengthened his ties with Memphis when he bought a stake in the team. However, that is only scratching the surface of what he has done in his hometown because he purchased the Mirimichi golf course and club in Millington, launched the 901 Silver Tequila in honor of the Memphis area code, and earned a place as the youngest-ever inductee into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame.

    Timberlake will always love Memphis

Even if he progresses in his career, Justin knows Memphis will always hold a special place in his heart. He will continue to support the Grizzlies through his investment and praise the city as much as possible.

“Memphis is the global capital of soul. And that soul is not just in the music; it’s in the people. I only hope. I can continue to return the favor for as long as I live and breathe,” JT said during his Memphis Music Hall of Fame induction speech.
