Whoopi Goldberg Says No One Should Be Surprised Beyoncé Was ‘Snubbed’ by 2024 CMA Awards (HG)

‘The View’ moderator shared her thoughts on Beyoncé’s lack of nominations for the superstar’s debut country album ‘Cowboy Carter’

Beyoncé fans may have been disappointed by the superstar’s lack of nominations for Cowboy Carter at the 2024 CMA Awards, but Whoopi Goldberg says she doesn’t understand the fuss.

“A lot of people are surprised — I don’t know why — that it didn’t receive a single CMA Award nomination. Well, this is the question: Are you surprised?” Goldberg, 68, said on the September 10 episode of The View. “I don’t think she was snubbed, I think they just didn’t… it wasn’t for them.”

Beyoncé’s debut country album boasted one of the year’s biggest hit singles, “Texas Hold ‘Em.” Cowboy Carter also featured collaborations with contemporary country artists like Malone and Shaboozey along with one of the genre’s pioneers, Linda Martell.

Cowboy Carter, which was released March 29, reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and made Beyoncé the first Black woman to top the Hot Country Albums chart. The singer also earned top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 with a cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” as well as “II Most Wanted” featuring Miley Cyrus.

Fellow View panelist Sunny Hostin said she was dismayed that Beyoncé was left off the CMA Awards nominations list — particularly after Parton appeared on Cowboy Carter to introduce “Jolene.”

“I happen to love Dolly Parton, so I felt that when the Queen of Country sort of passed the baton a little bit for ‘Jolene,’ which was an incredible song on her album, and ‘Texas Hold ‘Em,’ two incredible country songs, I thought she would at least get nominated for those two,” Hostin, 55, said. “But, my mother always told me, ‘Find the audience that’s looking for you.’ This audience isn’t looking for her.”

But Goldberg has consistently rejected the notion of “snubs” in entertainment awards. In January, when Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig were passed over for Oscar nominations for Barbie, she made her thoughts clear.

“There are no snubs. That’s what you have to keep in mind: Not everybody gets a prize, and it is subjective. Movies are subjective,” Goldberg said on The View at the time. “The movies you love may not be loved by the people who are voting.”

NEW YORK (AP) — Justin Timberlake is scheduled to enter a new plea Friday in his drunken driving case in New York’s Hamptons, prosecutors said. Details of the plea weren’t disclosed, but a person with knowledge of the deal said Timberlake has agreed to plead guilty to a less serious offense than the original charge of driving while intoxicated.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the case.

Timberlake’s attorney, Edward Burke, declined to comment.

The pop singer is set to appear in person on Friday in Sag Harbor Village Court to enter a plea, Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney’s office confirmed Wednesday.

Timberlake was arrested in the village of Sag Harbor, on the eastern end of Long Island, on June 18 after police said he ran a stop sign in the village center, veered out of his lane and got out of his BMW smelling of alcohol. The 43-year-old Tennessee native pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge.

At a hearing last month, a judge suspended Timberlake’s right to drive in New York.

His lawyer, Burke, has maintained that Timberlake was not drunk and that the case should be dropped.

Timberlake was pulled over after leaving a Sag Harbor hotel around 12:30 a.m., according to police.

“His eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” police said in a court filing.

Timberlake told the officer he had had one martini and was following some friends home, according to police. He was arrested and spent the night in custody at a police station.

The boy band singer-turned-solo star and actor’s agent and other representatives didn’t immediately respond to emails seeking comment Wednesday.

A 10-time Grammy winner, Timberlake began performing as a young Disney Mouseketeer, rose to fame as part of the boy band NSYNC and embarked on a solo recording career in the early 2000s.

Sag Harbor is a one-time whaling village mentioned in Herman Melville’s classic novel “Moby-Dick” that’s nestled amid the Hamptons, around 100 miles (160 kilometers) east of New York City.

Justin Timberlake is nearing a resolution in his driving while intoxicated case, months after he was arrested in the Hamptons in June.

The “Can’t Stop the Feeling” and “Mirrors” pop star is expected to enter a plea during a Friday hearing where he is set to appear in-person at New York’s Sag Harbour Court, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office confirmed to The Times. The singer, 43, agreed to plead guilty to a less serious offense than his original driving while intoxicated charge, the Associated Press reported.

Timberlake’s attorney Edward Burke Jr. did not comment to The Times.

The 10-time Grammy Award winner was arraigned June 18 in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court, on the eastern end of Long Island. The musician allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and struggled to stay in his lane while driving, the Sag Harbor Police Department said. He pleaded not guilty.

Police described Timberlake during the arrest as having “bloodshot and glassy” eyes with a “strong odor of an alcoholic beverage” on his breath, according to court papers obtained by The Times. Police said the singer also had slowed speech and performed poorly on sobriety tests.

Timberlake, amid his Forget Tomorrow World Tour, was released on his own recognizance.

A month after his arrest, lawyer Burke denied his client was intoxicated when he was stopped and alleged there were errors with officials’ arrest documents. In response, a spokesperson for the district attorney told AP, “We stand ready to litigate the underlying facts of this case in court, rather than in the press.”

Days after his arrest, the former ‘N Sync frontman got candid with fans at a Chicago concert, telling them “it’s been a tough week.”

“Nothing can change this moment right now,” the singer said in June. “I know sometimes I’m hard to love, but you keep on loving me and I love you right back. Thank you so much.”

Timberlake continues his Forget Tomorrow tour later this month with a stop at New Jersey’s Prudential Center. He is slated to play shows in Toronto, Detroit, Orlando and Atlanta, among other cities, before the end of the year.

The biggest stars in music were ready to rock and roll as they made their way to the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet at the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York on Wednesday night.

Taylor Swift opted for tartan in her very Reputation coded look – consisting of a yellow and black plaid top half and open skirt – revealing black hot shorts that matched her thigh-high boots and lace up gloves.

Taylor, 34, is wearing Dior Resort 2025, with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry including 30 carat pear-shaped canary yellow diamond earrings surrounded by black jade.

Sabrina Carpenter, 25, channeled Marilyn Monroe in her shimmering sequin silver gown, adding touseled locks and red lipstick on her pout.

Katy Perry, 39, flashed her flat midriff in a shredded white bralette and maxi skirt, rocking wet-looking locks and sultry makeup.

She made history with the win; Taylor has now won the Video of the Year award five times and earned her 30th VMA award in her career.

She is technically tied with Beyonce at that number but the Cowboy Carter artist had previously won 2 with her former girl group Destiny’s Child.

While on stage for her Video of the Year, Taylor thanked her boyfriend Travis Kelce, even tearing up.

Taylor recognized her boyfriend of nearly a year Travis and his contribution to the music video during her speech as she said: ‘And you know, the things that this video seems very sad when you watch it, but it was like the most fun video to make and something I will always remember is that when I would finish I take and I would say cut and we’d be done with the take, I would always just here someone cheering and like woo from across the studio where we were shooting it and that one person was my boyfriend Travis.’

‘Everything this man touches turns into happiness and find a magic so I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I will always remember that,’ she said.

Earlier in the night Taylor was the first artist to take home the coveted Moon Person.

Taylor Swift swaps her sparkly on-stage look for a quirky woodland co-ord while Sabrina Carpenter slips into a racy white lace mini dress as they head to the MTV VMAs after party (HG)

Taylor Swift swapped her fun sequinned ensemble for an extremely on-brand look as she joined a slew of stars at the MTV VMAs after party in New York City on Wednesday.

After making history by earning her 30th award as one of her seven gongs during the live ceremony, the hitmaker, 34, continued her celebrations by changing into a quirky co-ord with a woodland theme.

Paying homage to her track Out Of The Woods, Taylor teamed her fun printed dress with a matching bomber jacket as she headed to the post-awards party.

Joining her was Sabrina Carpenter, who after a surprise win for Song Of The Year, changed out of her white gown into a racy white lace mini dress.

The Espresso hitmaker set pulses racing in the revealing look, teamed with huge chunky platform heels, as she arrived for the party at Electric Lady Studios.

Suki Waterhouse was also among the stars in attendance, with the actress opting for a revealing black bralet and matching skirt, teamed with a huge feathered stole.

Elsewhere, Tyla showed off her daring sense of style in an incredibly revealing illusion top, teamed with daring cut-out jeans.

The hitmaker added to her 90s-inspired look with matching denim heeled boots.

Tate McRae left little to the imagination in a leggy pink fringed mini dress covered with intricate beaded detailing.

Taylor had Swifties tearing up as she thanked ‘magical’ boyfriend Travis Kelce while making history by earning her 30th VMA in her career.

The megastar – who led the star-studded red carpet – made a rare comment about about her Kansas City Chiefs star beau, as she took home the biggest award of the night Video of the Year at the gala event held at UBS Arena in Long Island, New York.

She – who earned seven total awards this evening alone – was recognized for her collab with Post Malone titled Fortnight who also joined her on stage along with her team.

Taylor recognised her boyfriend of nearly a year Travis and his contribution to the music video during her speech as she said: ‘And you know, the things that this video seems very sad when you watch it, but it was like the most fun video to make and something I will always remember is that when I would finish I take and I would say cut and we’d be done with the take, I would always just here someone cheering and like woo from across the studio where we were shooting it and that one person was my boyfriend Travis.

‘Everything this man touches turns into happiness and find a magic so I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot because I will always remember that. ‘

It was a history making night for Taylor as she became the most decorated solo artist ever by earning 30 VMAs. She is technically tied with Beyonce at that number but the Cowboy Carter artist had previously won 2 with her former girl group Destiny’s Child.

How Was Justin Timberlake’s First Impression of Matthew Lawrence During *NSYNC Set Visit? Boy Meets World Star Reveals

Matthew Lawrence recently recalled the time he had come across Justin Timberlake and when the singer had expressed what he felt about the Boy Meets World star.

The male cast members of Boy Meets World seemingly shared a discomfort with *NSYNC as they visited their set, back when the 90’s sitcom was at its top. Recently, Matthew Lawrence appeared on an episode of the podcast Pod Meets World, where he recalled a few memories with hosts and ex-co-stars, Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle, and Rider Strong.

This was when he also went through the time when *NSYNC paid frequent visits to the set of the show.

“I found out years later when I bumped into Justin [Timberlake] that he thought I was not very nice,” Lawrence said of the What Goes Around Comes Around singer.

Lawrence then went on to express that Timberlake did not like him, about which he openly stated to the actor’s face. This was the time when Justin Timberlake had just stepped into his solo musical career, and his album Justified was released in 2002.

Further, the actor also recalled that he was very shy on the set as he had a crush on Danielle Fishel back then, on whom the members of *NSYNC kept hitting, as they visited the set of the sitcom.

“Just orbiting around Danielle in a constant circle,” Strong added.

With a laugh, Fishel added that she was wondering if Lawrence was going to bring that topic up. While talking during the interview, Danielle Fishel then also recalled having an idea of why Lawrence was awkward before.

Further, Strong recalled *NSYNC being on the set and all the male actors being mad at them just for being around.

Meanwhile, Strong also stated that Danielle would completely ignore all her cast mates once the boy band would step on the set, also adding that the actress would totally change around *NSYNC.

However, Friedle then joked that out of all the five members of the boy band who gave us songs such as I Want You Back and Pop, Danielle made a poor choice.

For those unversed, Danielle Fishel dated Lance Bass for about a year back then. However, it was in 2006 that Bass came out as gay.

Adding her side, Fishel joked that she felt comfortable as she knew nothing was going to happen between her and Bass.

Boy Meets World was a famous sitcom with 7 seasons. Here, Danielle Fishel played the role of Topanga Lawrence, Rider Strong played Shawn Hunter, Will Friedle played Eric Matthews, and Matthew Lawrence played Jack Hunter.

‘The View’ Crowns Kamala Harris Winner In Debate Against Trump: “She Laid Traps And He Flopped Right Into Them” (HG)

The View was not impressed by what they saw at last night’s debate — with respect to former president Donald Trump‘s performance, that is. After anticipating the showdown between Trump and Kamala Harris on yesterday’s show, the ladies reconvened today to share their thoughts, with Alyssa Farah Griffin victoriously noting her prediction about her former employer came true.

Griffin said that, without a doubt, Harris “won the night” with her debate performance. Trump? Not so much.

“As I predicted, he melted down within the first few minutes,” Griffin said, referring to her comments yesterday about Trump likely faltering after the first 15 minutes of the debate.

“She laid traps for him and he flopped right into them. On the issue he should have been strongest on, border security, he ended up talking about his rallies and how they’re actually great and nobody leaves,” Griffin said. “I want to say this: if this was a traditional presidential cycle — you have Mitt Romney against Kamala Harris — I’d be saying, ‘Listen, she should have talked more about why she was for Defund the Police and isn’t now, why she was for Medicare for all and isn’t now,’ but nothing about this is traditional.”

After listing off a few of the ridiculous things Trump said during the debate, Griffin said his most egregious remark came when he was asked about his health care plan.

“After being president for four years, out of office for four, he said, ‘I have concepts of a plan,’” Griffin said with a laugh. “That’s what you say when you have nothing prepared! I think the mask started to slip even with MAGA supporters. If you can’t get through a 90-minute debate, how can you get through four years of being president?”

When it was Sunny Hostin‘s turn to speak, she said the debate looked like “Kamala Harris prosecuting a case.”

While recapping some of Harris’ most brutal blows to Trump, Hostin noted that the Vice President claimed people leave Trump’s rallies early “out of exhaustion and boredom.”

Hostin gleefully exclaimed, “It killed him! It took him out.”

Megyn Kelly launches blistering attack against Taylor Swift for endorsing Kamala Harris: ‘The epitome of elite snob’ (HG)

Megyn Kelly has launched a blistering attack against Taylor Swift for supporting Kamala Harris.

The media personality claimed the pop superstar and boyfriend Travis Kelce were ‘the epitomes of elite snobs’ who didn’t really care what happened to American kids because they’re too busy ‘jetting across the world’ and ‘sitting in their mansions.’

The singer, 34, publicly endorsed the Vice President, 59, in the 2024 Presidential race following her debate with former President Donald Trump, 78, on Tuesday night.

Almost immediately after, former Fox News host Megyn, 53, went on a scathing rant about the popstar on her SiriusXM podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show.

Megyn blasted Taylor as ‘disgusting’ for her statement, and claimed that the hitmaker and her football star boyfriend Travis, also 34, were ‘too obsessed with their money’ to focus on the growing problems in the country.

‘You can kiss your sales to the Republican audience goodbye, Taylor, hope you enjoyed them while you had them,’ Megyn began.

In her lengthy Instagram post, Taylor vowed that she ‘makes sure to watch and read everything she can’ about Trump and Harris’ ‘proposed policies and plans for this country.’

She said she planned to vote for Kamala because she believed the 59-year-old ‘fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.’

She also praised Kamala’s running mate Tim Walz for ‘standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.’

‘This is disgusting,’ Megyn continued of Taylor’s statement. ‘If she wants to vote Harris/Walz she can do it all she wants but to say the reason she’s doing it is because of Tim Walz’s stance on LGBTQ+, F you Taylor Swift.

‘F all of the people who want to see these children have body parts chopped off and watch them sterilized under the age of consent.

‘And then they will ride off to their multi-gazillion dollar mansions and never to think of them again.’

Megyn said she ‘didn’t give a s**t’ who ‘got upset’ by her comments, before continuing on with her tirade.

‘This pair, Taylor and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, are the epitomes of elite snobs,’ the media personality scathed.

‘They both have gazillions of dollars. She doesn’t care what happens to these kids just like he doesn’t give a s**t what happens to all the young men who take that Pfizer booster he’s been pushing on them.’

‘This is disgusting,’ Megyn said of Taylor’s statement

But Megyn claimed in her podcast that the vaccine was causing a life-threatening heart condition known as myocarditis.

And she said Travis was too distracted by his ‘money’ and ‘football games’ to have a ‘thought for those he hurt.’

According to the CDC, ‘cases of myocarditis and pericarditis have rarely been observed after COVID-19 vaccination in the United States.’

‘I’m sure Travis is totally f*king clueless about the myocarditis taking the lives of young men in this country, who didn’t need the shot to begin with never mind a booster,’ Megyn continued.

‘Where’s Travis Kelce going to be when these [his fans] wind up with heart scarring that causes heart attacks and potentially death?

‘[He and Taylor] will be sitting in their mansions in Rhode Island and California and New York and jetting across the world saying let them eat cake.

‘They’ll be bathing themselves in their own sanctimony too obsessed with their money and their concerts and their football games to have a thought for those they’ve hurt.’

Travis Kelce reveals all about US Open trip with Taylor Swift – from ‘cringe’ dancing to what he was REALLY watching on his phone (HG)

Travis Kelce has lifted the lid on his and Taylor Swift‘s viral trip to the US Open, revealing all about his ‘cringe’ dancing – and what he was really watching on his phone.

The superstar pair went viral on Sunday as they took in the men’s singles final from courtside in New York, dancing along to the music between games.

Many claimed they were ‘doing too much’ and blasted their antics during the match, while others enjoyed their loved-up display – but now Kelce himself has spoken out for the first time.

First referencing his outfit and revealing the theme, he said on New Heights: ‘I went country club… it was tennis, what do you want me to do? It was tennis!’

He then talked listeners through the day, revealing: ‘It was a completely different world. I looked to my left and my right and every single time I did it, I saw a familiar face. There were so many f***ing people there to see the action, especially the final game knowing an American was in the US Open.

‘The entire time I wanted to heckle the Italian guy Sinner, the No 1 player in the world and really try and get into his head and help my guy Fritzy out, give him a home court advantage here in America, but I played it cool, I played it respectful, knowing that’s kind of frowned upon.

‘I’m sure if I started heckling him like the guy in Happy Gilmore – “you stupid jacka**” – I would have been asked to leave pretty quick.’

Many speculated that he was watching the first Sunday of the NFL season, and the Kansas City Chiefs star has now confirmed he couldn’t avoid the football.

‘Jason, when you get something like Sunday Ticket on YouTube TV, you can watch any game you want… you can actually watch four games at once,’ he joked. ‘It was perfect… it was the first f***ing Sunday of the NFL season!

‘I was watching that Miami Dolphins game just waiting for Tyreek Hill to go for 300 yards and five touchdowns knowing what happened earlier in the day.

‘And sure enough, finally in the fourth quarter when I think Jacksonville had just fumbled the ball, literally the next play they go up top to Tyreek Hill and he has this fun touchdown celebration… you can lock me up all you want, baby!’

‘I had the old country club look going, with the cardigan and button-up and hat to match, I was Gucci head to toe. I had the Magoo mustache. The bucket hat with the mustache is very Magoo-ish. I was a huge Mr Magoo fan growing up, man.

Justin Timberlake ‘takes plea deal’ and faces only ‘$500 fine’ three months after he was arrested for DWI

With details on Justin’s shocking Hamptons arrest and a statement from his lawyer

JUSTIN Timberlake has received a plea deal in his DWI case, which has now been diminished to a traffic violation.

The 43-year-old singer was arrested after being pulled over in Sag Harbor, New York, around midnight on June 18.

Justin’s original DWI charge has been officially dropped and lowered to Driving While Ability Impaired, sources told TMZ.

His lawyer, Edward Burke, Jr., and prosecutors got the judge in the DWI case to sign off on the deal.

Justin will most likely have to pay a fine of $300 to $500, according to the outlet.

The exact amount will be determined during a court hearing on Friday.

The former NSYNC frontman will still have his driver’s license suspended due to declining a breathalyzer test when initially pulled over by police.

In New York, refusal to take a breathalyzer equates to an automatic license suspension for a year.

    JUSTIN’S ARREST

Shortly after leaving The American Hotel following a night out with friends, the singer was pulled over while traveling southbound on Madison Street, a public highway in the Hamptons village.

Cops, often stationed nearby, noticed Justin swerving on the road and blowing through a stop sign.

Police smelled alcohol on his breath and noted that he was unsteady on his feet and also had slowed speech and glassy eyes.

Justin Timberlake’s lawyer claims he was ‘not intoxicated’ during DWI arrest as singer will face judge at next hearing
Justin was quoted telling officers that he had only “one martini” and “followed his friends home.”

However, one witness told The New York Post that Justin was “wasted” when he left the establishment.

Other sources claimed some of Justin’s friends arrived on the scene and tried to convince the cops to let him go.

They were unsuccessful, however, as Justin was handcuffed and arrested.

Timberlake’s Criminal Attorney to the Stars

Justin’s attorney has represented a gamut of notable names out east.

In 2015, the attorney represented a pre #MeToo era Matt Lauer in his fight with his Water Mill neighbors to plant trees along his property in an effort to combat noise from adjoining properties that were spooking his horses.

In 2017, Ed represented Harvey Weinstein in a fender bender incident in a parking lot in the Hamptons, where the disgraced movie mogul allegedly tried to drive away.

In 2001, he represented Lizzie Grubman, a nightlife publicist whose car careened into a crowd of 16 people in front of a Hamptons club, before fleeing the scene.

He was taken into custody that night and arraigned in Sag Harbor Village Justice Court the following morning.

He was released without bail on his recognizance and was also charged with one count of DWI due to his refusal of the breathalyzer, according to Justin’s lawyer.

Justin was also cited for running a stop sign and failing to keep in his own lane.

    ED’S STATEMENT

Justin’s lawyer gave a statement to The U.S. Sun about the case, claiming Justin “was not intoxicated” at the time of his arrest.

“The most important fact to know about this case is that Justin was not intoxicated and should not have been arrested for DWI.

“The police made a number of very significant errors in this case,” Ed claimed.

“In court today, you heard the district attorney try to fix one of those errors.

“But that’s just one and there are many others. Sometimes the police make mistakes and this is just one of those instances,” he continued.

“But the fact remains, he was not intoxicated and they made an error in arresting him for it. We are confident that his charge will be dismissed.”

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s office responded moments after Ed made his statement.

The office said they “located a ministerial error in the original accusatory instrument” and corrected it.

“The facts and circumstance of the case have not been changed or amended,” the statement read.

“Mr. Timberlake is scheduled to be arraigned on the amended accusatory instrument … via a virtual appearance at Sag Harbor Village Justice Court.”
