Rookie Cop and Justin Timberlake Not in *NSYNC

In recent years, celebrity controversies have often been the subject of much scrutiny and discussion, but one particular incident that stood out was Justin Timberlake’s arrest for driving while intoxicated (DWI) in the Hamptons. This moment was particularly notable not just because of Timberlake’s fame, but also because of the way it highlighted the absurdity of his actions in a world where he could easily avoid such situations. The arrest quickly became fodder for jokes, memes, and social commentary, reflecting not just Timberlake’s behavior but the deeper societal issues surrounding fame and privilege.

Rookie Cop and Justin Timberlake Not in *NSYNC

Timberlake’s arrest was a result of an unfortunate series of events. According to reports, after he was pulled over, his friends tried to intervene and even begged the officer to let him go. The question that arose immediately in many minds, however, was why someone as wealthy and famous as Timberlake didn’t have a driver to take him home. Given his immense wealth, having a personal driver or utilizing rideshare services seems like an obvious solution to avoid any potential danger to himself or others. Instead, Timberlake made a decision that many would consider irresponsible, leading to his arrest and the public humiliation that followed.

One of the most striking parts of the story was the reaction from his friends. Instead of offering to take Timberlake home, they chose to plead with the officer on his behalf. This type of behavior speaks to a deeper issue of privilege, where wealthy and famous individuals often receive special treatment. The notion that Timberlake could not find a way home, despite his wealth, felt almost absurd. In fact, it felt like a missed opportunity to demonstrate responsibility, something that many of his fans may have expected from someone of his stature. Instead, the incident revealed an almost carefree attitude toward consequences—a mindset that only seems to exist in those who are insulated from the realities most people face.

Moreover, the way the situation was handled on the ground also added to the absurdity of the entire ordeal. Timberlake was reportedly unaware that the cop who pulled him over didn’t recognize him, which was another blow to the singer’s ego. For someone who has spent decades in the public eye, the idea that his fame had faded to such an extent that even an officer in a high-profile area like the Hamptons didn’t recognize him was a startling revelation. Timberlake’s reaction to the incident—specifically the famous mugshot taken after his arrest—was telling. The look on his face was one of someone deeply aware that this was a moment of personal reckoning, but also a symbol of the disconnection that can occur when fame begins to wane. It was a face that spoke of both regret and disbelief, as if he couldn’t quite understand how this had happened to him.

As Timberlake faced the consequences of his actions, his story quickly became a subject for many comedians and social commentators. They dissected every angle of the arrest and its aftermath, with many pointing out the contradictions in Timberlake’s actions and the larger societal implications. Some speculated that the whole incident might have been part of a larger “karma” arc, as they recalled the controversial period of Timberlake’s career when he was publicly linked to Britney Spears and later, Janet Jackson. In particular, there was a sense that Timberlake was being “punished” for his past transgressions, with people joking that it was Britney Spears’ “hex” at work.

This humorous speculation, however, touched on something much deeper about the world of fame. Fame, as a concept, is inherently fleeting. While it can provide access to immense wealth and power, it can also isolate individuals from the very things that make them human. Timberlake’s DWI arrest might have seemed like a minor scandal to some, but it represented a much larger truth: no one is immune from the consequences of their actions, and fame, no matter how dazzling, does not protect against personal failings.

What also emerged from the incident was a strange conspiracy theory that added layers of intrigue to the situation. Some speculated that Timberlake had staged his own arrest for the publicity, noting how carefully curated his image has been in recent years. The theory suggested that Timberlake had asked the officer to cuff him, adding an element of performance to the arrest. While there was no evidence to support this, the very suggestion pointed to the complex relationship between fame and public perception. Timberlake, as a public figure, had long been a subject of media scrutiny, and this arrest added to his complicated public persona.

This incident, like so many others involving celebrities, also raised questions about the nature of accountability and how we view those in the public eye. While Timberlake faced a wave of mockery and criticism, some of the more serious issues were overlooked. The larger question remains: how can individuals, especially those in positions of privilege, truly be held accountable for their actions when they are surrounded by yes-men and an adoring public that often excuses their behavior? In Timberlake’s case, the arrest was a moment of reckoning, but it also served as a reminder that fame, despite its allure, comes with consequences.

In the end, the incident was a reminder that the public’s fascination with celebrities is often tied to a desire for both entertainment and schadenfreude. Timberlake’s arrest, though unfortunate, became a point of discussion for many, exposing the contradictions in the lives of the famous and highlighting the tenuous nature of fame itself. The fact that Timberlake could be so famous yet so unaware of the realities surrounding him made his downfall all the more poignant, as it illustrated how fragile even the brightest stars can be.

Music City gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of country music icon Toby Keith on Monday, July 29. Toby Keith: American Icon, brought together some of the biggest names in the industry, including Carrie Underwood, Lainey Wilson, Luke Bryan, Jelly Roll, Eric Church, and more.

In addition to honoring the immeasurable mark that Toby Keith left on country music, the event raised funds for The Toby Keith Foundation’s OK Kids Korral, which provides a cost-free home for families of children undergoing cancer treatment, and the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

The night was full of memorable performances, moving words, and special memories. Toby Keith’s daughter Krystal even took the stage to perform the emotional ballad “Don’t Let The Old Man In.”

Video from Toby Keith’s final time in the recording studio was shared for the first time at the show

Shortly before Toby Keith passed away from stomach cancer, he recorded the Joe Diffie classic “Ships That Don’t Come In.” The cover was a collaboration with artist Luke Combs and was included in the project HIXTAPE. Vol. 3: DIFFTAPE, a compilation album celebrating the music of the late Joe Diffie.

According to a press release issued before the album’s release, DIFFTAPE utilized “2006 master recordings of Diffie’s greatest hits in tandem with all new recordings from some of country music’s biggest stars and more.”

“Ships That Don’t Come In” would ultimately become Toby Keith’s last-ever studio recording. His rendition was released on March 29, nearly two months after his death, so he never had the chance to perform the song live.

However, never-before-seen footage of Toby’s last time in the studio was shown during the tribute concert, creating an emotional way to experience some of the last work created by the legendary singer.

Opposing fans have been calling out the Kansas City Chiefs as cheaters for many months, and they appeared to get some backup on that during their latest contest.

On Christmas Day, the Chiefs were taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road.

While up 28-10, the crew of Ian Eagle, analysts Nate Burleson and JJ Watt, were speaking as the team was getting set to kick their point after following a touchdown.

Right after the point after was made, Ian Eagles stated out of his mouth, “Right down the middle to give the cheaters…”

Clearly, his words were a mistake, but given what fans have stated about the team all year, those words should not be taken lightly.

Patrick Mahomes passed for 320 yards and three touchdowns, and the Kansas City Chiefs locked up the top seed in the AFC for the fourth time in seven seasons with a 29-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The two-time defending Super Bowl champions never had a real challenge during this game.

The Steelers have dropped three straight as their chances of capturing the AFC North took another hit.

In the game, Travis Kelce caught eight passes for 84 yards and made history as he became the third tight end in NFL history to reach 1,000 receptions, joining Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten.

On the other side, Russell Wilson threw for 205 yards for Pittsburgh, while WR George Pickens finished with three receptions for 50 yards after missing three games with a hamstring injury.

Kansas City celebrated Christmas this year by locking up the AFC’s top playoff seed, once again earning a bye and home-field advantage through the conference championship.

The Chiefs clinched their ninth consecutive AFC West title in Week 14 after defeating the Los Angeles Chargers.

A Look Back at Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake’s Super Bowl Halftime Controversy 20 Years Later

Here’s a look at the series of events leading up to the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show, the scandal that took place, and its aftermath

Here’s a play-by-play of what went down 20 years ago.

Typically, the Super Bowl is remembered by an exciting game ending with a football team deemed champion, but 2004’s Super Bowl XXXVIII was overshadowed by a halftime show that goes down in the books as one of the most talked-about halftime show performances in history.

While the show was nonetheless entertaining, it ended in scandal. The two players at the center of the controversy? Legendary Janet Jackson and pop singer Justin Timberlake.

Jackson was the headliner that year, and Timberlake was the surprise guest, however, his surprise appearance quickly turned to shock when he infamously ripped off Jackson’s top, exposing her bare breast on live television.

Since the incident, which has since been referred to as “Nipplegate,” fingers have been pointed in an attempt to place blame on who’s responsible for what went down on Feb. 1.

The New York Times released a documentary in November 2021, titled Malfunction: The Dressing Down of Janet Jackson, examining the cultural and racial clash that ensued on stage — however, it only includes interviews with NFL and MTV executives who were present at the game that night.

In January 2022, Jackson released a tell-all documentary of her own where she will address the Super Bowl incident herself. Titled Janet, the documentary touched on untold aspects of her personal life and career.

Read on for a look back at Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson’s 2004 Super Bowl halftime show controversy.

December 2003: Janet Jackson is announced to headline the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show

The National Football League (NFL) announced in December 2003 that Jackson would headline the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show and it would be produced by MTV, who also produced the 2001 show with Britney Spears, Aerosmith, Mary J. Blige, *NSYNC, and Nelly as performers.

Jackson was originally slated to headline 2002’s halftime, according to Entertainment Weekly, but was replaced by U2. Shania Twain and No Doubt were tapped to headline in 2003.

January 28, 2004: Janet Jackson’s choreographer teases “shocking moments”

Details were kept under wraps in the days leading up to the event, but a quote from one of Jackson’s choreographers raised eyebrows after she spoke with MTV News.

The article, which was published on Jan. 28, 2004, not only revealed that Jessica Simpson, Diddy, Nelly, and Kid Rock would appear as guest performers, but the dancer also teased that “there are some shocking moments in there too.”

February 1, 2004: Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake’s Super Bowl incident takes place

When Jackson took the stage, she dazzled viewers with an electrifying performance as she sang and danced to a rendition of her 2001 hit, “All For You.” After exiting the scene for guests Diddy, Nelly, and Kid Rock to take their turn, she returned to perform “Rhythm Nation.”

As her second song came to an end and the overpopulated stage of backup dancers dispersed, Timberlake emerged to sing “Rock Your Body,” in which he and Jackson were the only two left on stage.

The moment Timberlake uttered the lyrics, “Bet I’ll have you naked by the end of this song,” the music suddenly stopped as his hand wrapped around Jackson’s body in a choreographed move.

As he delivered the final lyric, Timberlake ripped off a piece of Jackson’s top, baring her breast.

February 1, 2004: Justin Timberlake and MTV release initial statements

Later that night, Timberlake and MTV issued statements to MTV News acknowledging the incident.

In his statement, Timberlake said, “I am sorry if anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance at the Super Bowl. It was not intentional and is regrettable.”

Meanwhile, MTV said, “The tearing of Janet Jackson’s costume was unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional and was inconsistent with assurances we had about the content of the performance. MTV regrets this incident occurred and we apologize to anyone who was offended by it.”

As for Jackson, her representatives told MTV News that “she apologizes for the incident.”

February 2, 2004: Janet Jackson releases initial statements

Jackson later released her own statement, describing the situation as a planned “costume reveal,” in contrast to Timberlake’s statement referring to it as “unintentional.”

“The decision to have a costume reveal at the end of my halftime show performance was made after final rehearsals,” said Jackson. “MTV was completely unaware of it. It was not my intention that it go as far as it did. I apologize to anyone offended — including the audience, MTV, CBS and the NFL.”

Following the incident, USA Today spoke with body piercer Byriah Dailey, whom Jackson’s stylist, Wayne Scot Lukas, got nipple jewelry from before the show.

“At the end of it, while we were talking, [Lukas] was like, ‘OK, watch the halftime show. There’s going to be a surprise at the end,’” Dailey told the outlet. “I had a pair of them,” he added. “I still have the other one, believe it or not. They only purchased one. … I was kind of happy to get rid of it.”

February 3, 2004: The Federal Communications Commission launches an investigation

After receiving more than half a million complaints, the FCC held an investigation that probed the entirety of the halftime show performance in an attempt to determine if the act violated the Commission’s indecency standards.

“I am outraged at what I saw during the halftime show of the Super Bowl,” the FCC chairman Michael Powell said in a statement. “Like millions of Americans, my family and I gathered around the television for a celebration. Instead, that celebration was tainted by a classless, crass and deplorable stunt. Our nation’s children, parents and citizens deserve better.”

According to The Washington Post, Viacom’s 200 owned and affiliate stations were threatened with a penalty of up to $27,500 if indecency violations were found, plus penalties against CBS, Jackson, Timberlake, and each performer involved.

Ultimately, the FCC fined CBS a record $550,000 for airing the “wardrobe malfunction” but it was later voided by the U.S. Court of Appeals. Some of Jackson’s music was also blacklisted by radio and television stations as a result.

February 3, 2004: Media places blame

Following the incident, MTV Chief Executive Tom Freston claimed that “Janet Jackson engineered it” in an interview with Reuters.

While Jackson relentlessly took the heat in the stint’s aftermath, Timberlake later opened up about the performance during an interview with local TV station KCBS on Feb. 4.

He noted that he was “frustrated at the whole situation,” adding, “I’m frustrated that my character is being questioned and the fact of the matter is, you know, I’ve had a good year, a really good year, especially with my music.”

The 46th annual Grammy Awards was significant, yet distinct for both Timberlake and Jackson.

Due to CBS’s “serious reservations” regarding Jackson and Timberlake’s attendance at the Grammys, the network placed the decision in the Recording Academy’s hands. Their attendance was contingent upon their decision to make an on-air apology.

Per a statement from CBS, “Ms. Jackson declined the invitation. Mr. Timberlake accepted.”

During the show, Timberlake nabbed two of the biggest awards of the night, album of the year and best pop vocal album. During one of his acceptance speeches, he publicly apologized, saying, “What occurred was unintentional, completely regrettable, and I apologize if you guys are offended.”

In contrast to Timberlake’s career high just a month prior, Jackson faced a career low in the wake of her eighth studio album titled Damita Jo. After working on the project for nearly 18 months, it underperformed, making it one of her lowest-selling albums since 1984.

The NYT documentary, Malfunction, comprehensively details how the entertainment industry distanced itself from Jackson, while simultaneously accelerating the career of Timberlake.

In 2004, there was no such thing as a “viral video” or a place to rewatch clips online. The “if you missed it, you missed it,” phrase was ever so real until Chad Hurley, Steven Cehn, and Jawed Karim came up with a solution: YouTube.

The creators of YouTube later noted that they were partially inspired by the Super Bowl incident that took place just a year prior when they created the social media platform.

September 25, 2006: Janet Jackson opens up to Oprah Winfrey

Aside from Jackson’s personal statement released the day after the Super Bowl, she addressed the performance again during an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2006.

Oprah introduced the segment by stating, “This will be the first and the last time that [Jackson] ever talks about what happened that day,” followed by the question, “Was it planned?”

Jackson replied “No,” before further explaining, “What people don’t understand is, he was supposed to take and rip the [leather] piece of that he did, but more came off than what was supposed to.”

She continued to explain that she regretted making the apology that she did 24 hours after the incident “because it was an accident.”

Timberlake returned to the Super Bowl stage in 2018 as the headlining act. Not only did he perform 11 of his songs, in contrast to Jackson’s two, but he subtly made reference to the 2004 incident during his performance of “Rock Your Body.”

However, before delivering the infamous lyric, “Bet I’ll have you naked by the end of this song,” Timberlake said, “Hold on, stop!” before the music transitioned to a new song in his medley of hits.

February 12, 2021: Justin Timberlake issues his first direct apology to Janet Jackson

Ahead of the 2018 Super Bowl, Apple Music’s Zane Lowe asked Timberlake on Beats 1 if he and Jackson “resolved the situation” and “made peace of the whole thing,” to which the singer responded, “Absolutely.”

He added, “I don’t know that a lot of people know that. I mean, I don’t think it’s my job to do that, because you value the relationships that you do have with people.”

It wasn’t until three years later on Feb. 12, 2021, that Timberlake penned his first direct apology to Jackson, following the release of the NYT‘s documentary Framing Britney Spears.

He wrote his thoughts in a lengthy Instagram post that read, “I specifically want to apologize to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson both individually, because I care for and respect these women and I know I failed.”

The two-part documentary released its trailer on Jan. 1, teasing clips from her controversial Super Bowl halftime performance. In addition to sharing untold stories from her personal life, she’s set to address the scandal once again.

Janet premieres Jan. 28 and Jan. 29 on Lifetime and A&E, in honor of the 40th anniversary of her debut album.

January 29, 2022: Janet Jackson says in doc she and Justin Timberlake ‘are friends’ and ‘have moved on’

Jackson set the record straight on the pair’s friendship in a message to fans recorded ahead of the release of her two-night Lifetime and A&E documentary event, Janet.

“Honestly, this whole thing was blown way out of proportion. And, of course, it was an accident that should not have happened, but everyone is looking for someone to blame and that’s got to stop,” she said of the incident.

“Justin and I are very good friends, and we will always be very good friends,” Jackson continued. “We spoke just a few days ago. He and I have moved on, and it’s time for everyone else to do the same.”

  • Willie Nelson’s Shocking Confession About Kris Kristofferson

Willie Nelson’s Shocking Confession About Kris Kristofferson

Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson are two of the most iconic figures in country music, both revered not only for their musical contributions but for their bold, rebellious spirits that helped reshape the genre. Their friendship, built on years of collaboration and mutual respect, was one of the most enduring in the music world, and their bond transcended the stage. Together, they were pioneers of the Outlaw country movement, rejecting the polished, commercial sound of Nashville to create a more authentic and raw form of country music. But recently, Willie Nelson has shared something deeply personal about his late friend, Kris Kristofferson, that has shifted the way we view both of them.

Willie Nelson’s Shocking Confession About Kris Kristofferson

Chris’s early life seemed destined for a very different path. Born in Texas in 1936, Chris Kristofferson was raised in a military family, with his father being an Air Force general. His upbringing was marked by discipline and academic achievement rather than the rugged lifestyle associated with country music. In fact, Chris was a Rhodes Scholar who studied literature at Oxford University, immersing himself in the works of great poets such as William Blake and T.S. Eliot. He was on track for a promising career in academia when, driven by his passion for songwriting, he decided to leave the comforts of Oxford behind. This decision was shocking to his family, as it meant turning down a prestigious teaching position at West Point to pursue a life in Nashville, where he would eventually rise to become one of the most influential songwriters in country music.

Willie Nelson’s early life couldn’t have been more different. Born in Abbott, Texas, in 1933, Willie was raised in a working-class family, spending his youth picking cotton and playing music. From a young age, he demonstrated a rebellious streak, a characteristic that would later define his career. Although he wrote some of the most memorable hits of the 1960s for other artists, Willie struggled to fit into Nashville’s commercial machine. It wasn’t until he and Chris Kristofferson, along with other Outlaw figures like Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, began to rebel against the polished sound of mainstream country music that he truly found his voice. They sought to return country music to its roots, telling stories about real people, with themes of heartbreak, redemption, and the struggles of everyday life. This marked the birth of the Outlaw country movement, which would change the landscape of country music forever.

Willie Nelson Says Kris Kristofferson's Death Was 'Sad': 'Hated to Lose Him'

Throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Outlaw movement gained momentum, and Chris and Willie became central figures in it. Their songs were a departure from the typical Nashville hits, often raw and honest depictions of life’s messier realities. Chris’s “Sunday Morning Coming Down” is a perfect example of this new approach. The song paints a picture of a man waking up hungover and regretful, confronting the consequences of his actions, an honest portrayal of life’s struggles that resonated deeply with fans. Another of Chris’s iconic songs, “Me and Bobby McGee,” captured the spirit of a generation with its philosophical depth and bittersweet reflection on freedom, love, and loss. This song, famously covered by Janis Joplin, became an anthem for many, solidifying Chris’s place as one of country music’s great songwriters.

Despite their musical and cultural impact, Chris and Willie’s friendship went beyond their shared work. Both men rejected the glitz and glamour of Nashville in favor of authenticity, and this shared value drew them together. Over the years, they formed a deep bond that extended beyond the stage. In the 1970s, alongside Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash, they formed the supergroup The Highwaymen. The collaboration produced some of the most memorable songs of their careers, including “Highwayman,” a song that encapsulated the group’s rebellious spirit. But their connection was much more than just professional; they were brothers, spending countless hours together on the road and in the studio, sharing thoughts on music, life, and the pressures of fame.

However, in recent years, Willie Nelson has opened up about the personal struggles that Kris Kristofferson faced, which were largely unknown to the public during his lifetime. In particular, Willie shared that Chris carried with him deep feelings of guilt and regret, especially concerning his family. Despite his success, Chris often felt that he had sacrificed too much in his personal life, particularly his relationship with his children. The life of a touring musician often meant long stretches away from home, and in hindsight, Chris regretted not being there more for his family during those formative years. Willie revealed that in his final years, Kris expressed fear that he hadn’t been the father or husband he had hoped to be, and this regret weighed heavily on him.

This revelation was a shock to many fans who had always seen Chris Kristofferson as the epitome of the fearless Outlaw, a man who seemed to have it all. The image of the rugged, carefree figure that Chris portrayed in his music was at odds with the vulnerable, self-reflective man Willie described. But rather than tarnishing Kris’s legacy, these insights only deepen the appreciation for his work. They remind us that behind the iconic figure was a man who, like so many of us, wrestled with doubts, insecurities, and the complexity of balancing personal dreams with family obligations.

Willie Nelson Says Kris Kristofferson Is "Greatest Songwriter Of All Time"

In many ways, Chris Kristofferson’s music was always a reflection of these inner struggles. His songs were never just about the external world; they were a window into his own quest for meaning, his search for redemption, and his efforts to make sense of the challenges that came with fame. The revelations about his private life only serve to highlight the depth and authenticity that defined both his character and his music. Through Willie Nelson’s reflections, we come to understand that Kris Kristofferson’s legacy is not just about the songs he wrote or the Outlaw image he cultivated, but about a man who confronted his flaws and vulnerabilities head-on.

Willie Nelson’s revelations have made us see Kris Kristofferson not just as a legend, but as a human being, complex and multifaceted. In doing so, they have only strengthened his legacy, reminding us that even the greatest of country music’s Outlaws had their moments of doubt, regret, and introspection. Through this deeper understanding of Kris’s personal life, we are reminded that his music will continue to inspire generations to come, not just because of its raw, poetic beauty but because of the real human struggles it reflects.

Though Biel and Timberlake are Hollywood stars, they prefer to keep their sons out of the spotlight.

“I try to be conscious of making sure we can live a life where we’re not weirdly private,” the “Mirrors” singer said during an appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast in 2021. “But we’re conscious of making sure they can be kids for as long as possible and not have the weight of somebody else treating them differently because of something that their parents do.”

Just two days before Timberlake was arrested for driving while intoxicated in the Hamptons on June 18, 2024, he celebrated Father’s Day with a sweet post about Silas and Phineas on Instagram.

“My 2 greatest gifts. I learn more about myself everyday just because you both chose me to be your Daddy,” he wrote. “I will always be there for you through your peaks and valleys… to lift you up and show you how high you can take this life and to pick you up when you fall. I love you both so much. Thank you for giving me my biggest purpose.”

Here’s everything to know about Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel’s two kids.

Timberlake and Biel’s first child, Silas Randall Timberlake, was born on April 8, 2015. The couple was fairly tight-lipped about their baby’s arrival, with reps only confirming to PEOPLE that Biel and Silas were doing well and that Timberlake was “ecstatic.” Silas was named after Timberlake’s maternal grandfather, Bill Silas Bomar. He also shares the same middle name, Randall, as his father.

When Silas was 6 months old, Biel opened up about motherhood on the Today show, saying, “It’s an amazing, amazing experience. Incredibly hard — the hardest job in the world, and I’ve never been more thankful and grateful to my own mother.” She also called her infant “amazing” and “wonderful.”

Although Timberlake has several Grammys to his name, Silas is seemingly unfazed by his father’s success. While speaking to Jimmy Fallon in 2021, Biel said of her then 6-year-old, “Whenever he hears Daddy’s song he’ll go ‘Oh yeah, that’s Dad. No big deal, whatever.’ ”

The Candy actress even admitted she can’t get Silas to watch her children’s show, Pete the Cat. “I tried to get him to watch the show, he will not watch,” she revealed. “And yet he says, ‘Hey Mom, hey Mom, do one of those voices from the show’ and I’m like ‘But you’ve never seen the show you don’t even know.’ He’s just like ‘just do it Mom,’ so I’ll do one of the voices and he’ll be like, ‘cool Mom, cool.’ ”

After Biel released her children’s book, A Kids Book About Periods, she told PEOPLE that she and Silas had started reading the book together and that it was “really cool to see him listening.”

“He was so cool about it. I was like, ‘Oh my God, score. We did it,’ ” Biel said. “That was the first step in much bigger conversations and deeper conversations that I hope to have with him. And that’s exactly why I wrote this book.”

In August 2024, Silas made a rare public appearance with Biel at the US Open in New York City. The mother-son duo watched Karolína Muchová defeat Naomi Osaka.

Phineas Timberlake, Biel and Timberlake’s second child, was born in the summer of 2020. However, it wasn’t until a January 2021 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that Timberlake opened up about his baby for the first time.

“He’s awesome and so cute. Nobody’s sleeping,” Timberlake said. “But we’re thrilled. We’re thrilled and couldn’t be happier. Very grateful.” When Timberlake was asked how Silas was doing as a big brother he replied, “Right now, he’s very much liking it. Phin can’t walk yet or chase him down. So we’ll see what happens.”

A few months later, Biel confessed to having a baby in secret on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, saying, “I had, like, a secret COVID baby. It wasn’t like it was supposed to be a secret. It was, just COVID happened, and then I went to Montana with my family and never left.”

She also revealed Phineas was born during the summer of 2020 and she wasn’t sure if Timberlake would be allowed in the hospital for the birth because of COVID-19 restrictions. “I was really getting nervous about that situation,” she said. “But yes, he was allowed. I think if I had to be there alone, that would have been horrible. I would have been really scared.”

The Sinner star also talked about how much harder having two children is versus one. “Someone said to me, ‘Two is like having a thousand,’ and that’s exactly what it feels like,” she said. “The balance of everything is very different and super hard.”

When asked about the idea of her kids going into show business during the same interview, Biel wasn’t thrilled with the idea. “My knee-jerk reaction is ‘Oh God, no. Please no.’ But then, I look at these kids and I’m like, ‘Oh (expletive), they’re probably going to be musical.’ What are we going to do? Like, not let them play the piano? Or not let them take a voice lesson if that’s their passion?”

She continued, “I don’t want to be that parent to stifle a dream, but, man, if my kid would just be like, ‘Let’s go learn about corn in Iowa,’ (I’d be like), ‘Great.’ I would so much rather them be an engineer or something.”

Jessica Biel upped her Christmas game with some next-level Elf on the Shelf setups this holiday season.

On Dec. 25, the mom of two posted an Instagram carousel showing some of the creative ways she spices up the holiday for her sons Silas, 9, and Phineas, 4, both of whom she shares with husband Justin Timberlake.

Biel shared a collection of photos and videos of toy elves getting into all kinds of trouble, including one snap of an elf holding a black marker beside framed photos of each of their kids. Facial hair and hats had been scribbled all over their portraits.

Posing as the mischievous elf, Biel penned a note to both kids: “You better stay off the naughty list, or I’ll paint your faces FOR REAL, just like this,” it read with an arrow pointing to the photos.

The first slide showed one red-suited figure splayed out in what appears to be some sort of kitchen mishap, between the dusting of flour or sugar and spilled mini marshmallows. “Naughty ass elf ,” the 7th Heaven alumna wrote in her caption.

In a following photo, Biel staged an elf with its arms over a bottle of ketchup and mustard, the same condiments that splattered the “Elf target practice” bullseye hung on the wall in front of it. Later in the carousel, an elf can be seen peeking out from a toaster with a sign reading, “It’s toasty in here … Keep it crispy this Christmas!”

For a truly cheeky prank, the actress draped the festive doll over a bathroom sink and placed a toothbrush between its legs. The “elf” addressed Silas in his note: “Thanks for letting me use your BUTT brush!” read a note in curly handwriting.

In videos, Biel showed their house in various states of disarray, all supposedly caused by the rebellious elf off of its intended shelf. One clip showed their staircase wrapped in faux spider webs dotted with plastic arachnids. Two plush spiders were placed beside an elf hanging upside down from the white material.

In another video, toys like Spider-Man and Buzz Lightyear hung from a doorframe by strings. The elf was secured at the top of the door, appearing to hold the string of yet another dangling figurine.

It wasn’t just Biel orchestrating behind the scenes either. Timberlake got in on the fun as well, according to an Instagram Reel he shared on Christmas Day. In his video, the elf stood behind a paper a turntable labeled “DJ Fart-Butt.” The setup included other mini accessories, like a laptop, speakers and headphones.

Techno music blasted as the singer showed off the elf’s DJ booth from all angles. He panned up to his smirking wife and they repeated her original caption: “Naughty ass elf.”

“Daddy got ahold of the elf…” Timberlake wrote alongside the musical Reel from his account.

“Meg loves Justin. She said, ‘No, no, no, we’ve never met before.’ This was the first time they met and she was so excited.”

Both Timberlake and Megan scoffed at the speculation when the “Bongos” rapper shared a video of the two of them on her TikTok account.

Megan captioned the video: “I just talk with my hands lol.” “See you next time @JustinTimberlake.”

Breaking: Justin Timberlake dodges New York drunk driving charges in plea deal

Justin Timberlake is set to take a plea deal in his drunk driving case that could lessen his charges.

Justin Timberlake snags plea deal in DWI case, will dodge drunk driving charges

The former NSYNC member will agree to plead guilty to a less serious crime than the drunk driving charge he faces, the Associated Press reports, citing a source familiar with the case. This means Timberlake could walk away with a traffic violation charge instead, according to the New York Post.

The 43-year-old will appear in court on Friday in Sag Harbor, New York, his lawyer Edward Burke told The Independent. Burke declined to comment on the deal or the proceedings.

The star was arrested in June in Sag Harbor for drunk driving. The arresting officer said he pulled Timberlake over after he didn’t stop at a stop sign and weaved in and out of his lane.

Timberlake said he had a single martini that night but refused to take a breathalyzer test.

“His eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests,” police said in court filings, according to the Associated Press.

Last month, Timberlake pleaded not guilty and Burke said he was not intoxicated while driving the night he was arrested.

Village Justice Carl Irace then suspended his New York driver’s license because he refused to take the breathalyzer test when he was pulled over. It was unclear how long the suspension will last.

In court, Burke argued that the arresting officers “made a number of very significant errors in this case.”

He said Timberlake “cooperated” with law enforcement “from the second he was ordered out of his car to the second he was charged.”

“You heard the DA try to fix one of those errors, but that’s just one, and there are many others,” he said. “Sometimes the police, like every one of us, make mistakes. And that’s the case in this very instance.”

Irace also chastised Burke for making “irresponsible” comments to the media.

He said his statements came off “as an attempt to poison the case before it even begins,” and encouraged Burke to be more careful moving forward.
