Kim Kardashian is sharing a supportive message for fellow parents who might struggle with their kids’ learning differences.

On Friday, Sept. 13, the Kardashians star, 43, posted a video on her Instagram Stories of her friend Lauren Sánchez, who appeared on The View to talk about first children’s book, The Fly Who Flew to Space, as well as her struggles with dyslexia as a child.

In the clip, Sánchez, who is the fiancée of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, spoke about her journey from barely being able to write due to her dyslexia to later becoming an award-winning journalist because of the support she received from a professor.

In her Instagram post, Kardashian wrote about being the mother of a child with dyslexia and took solace in Sánchez’s story.

“I’m reposting this not bc she’s my friend and I love her,” Kardashian wrote, “but because every mom who has struggled with their kids with dyslexia or any learning difference needs to hear that it will be okay.”

Sánchez later reshared the SKIMS founder’s post, along with a few praying-hand emojis to thank her for her support.

Kardashian’s eldest daughter, North West — whom she shares with ex-husband Kanye West — previously revealed during a TikTok livestream that she had been diagnosed with dyslexia — although Kardashian asked her not to share so much information with their fans at the time.

“Guys, I have dyslexia,” North, 11, said during the October 2023 live, per E! News. “Do you even know what that is?”

The reality star responded to her daughter: “Northie, you sure are spilling the tea on here,” and later told her that she was going to end the livestream because “you are just saying way too much. I purposely don’t talk about stuff that you are going through.”

The Kardashians star is often candid about her and North’s relationship. The mother-daughter duo share a TikTok account called @kimandnorth, and have previously gone viral for their coordinated dances and conversations over livestream.

Just last month, the mom of four shared some behind-the-scenes footage of what goes into the filming process for some of their most popular dance videos — such as the pair doing the TikTok-famous dance to Charli xcx’s song “Apple.”

In an Instagram carousel post shared on Kardashian’s account, the two could be be seen laughing at their own video, with North’s phone suctioned to the mirror in front of them. The carousel continued to show the dancing video that the two were filming in the picture.

“I might enjoy the forced tik tok dances a litttttttle bit 😉,” Kardashian captioned the post.

The musician, 38, shared some insight into her close friendship with the “Fortnight” singer, 34, during a recent interview with FASHION, commending Swift on her musical “genius” while discussing the importance of female friendships.

“[Taylor’s] the best and she deserves every accolade that she’s ever had,” Este said of Swift in a video reshared on X (formerly Twitter). “She’s a true genius, and she’s also, like, the best friend and the best hang.”

“We had an amazing time at the US Open … yeah I would do that like a jillion times over again. That was so much fun,” she added.

The Haim sisters — Este, Danielle, 35, and Alana, 32 — have been friends with Swift for several years. The trio collaborated with Swift on songs and during Swift’s Eras Tour.

The group opened for her on select dates of the Eras Tour — and joined her onstage to perform their “No Body, No Crime” colloboration — something which the sisters described as “one of the most exhilarating things we’ve ever had the opportunity to experience.”

“It really felt like a dream,” Este told PEOPLE of getting to perform with Swift. “Not only was she so incredibly welcoming onstage, but her fans embraced us and sang every word.”

The Haim sisters have also supported the 14-time Grammy winner offstage, attending the first of two of her Eras Tour shows at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium. They also made a cameo in Swift’s star-studded “Bejeweled” music video in October 2022 and collaborated with Swift on a remix of their single “Gasoline” in February 2021.

The “Summer Girl” band has also praised Swift for her work ethic on tour. Danielle discussed seeing Swift’s dedication to her work up close firsthand, saying, “seeing how hard she works is insane.”

“She never complains,” she continued. “She’s the most incredible performer, and so inspiring as a friend.”

“She loves what she does,” Este added, noting that she would often spend time with them after her concerts too. “We’d play a show and she would just want to hang out after.”

The band told PEOPLE in December 2023 that despite her hectic work schedule, she still makes sure to prioritize her loved ones.

“She has always put her friends before herself in every situation,” Alana said. “She’s the kind of friend that checks up on us for weeks after a tough breakup and is a shoulder to lean on.”

Prince Harry has received some unexpected royal birthday wishes.

The Duke of Sussex turned 40 on Sunday, Sept. 15, and his milestone birthday was celebrated by both his father, King Charles, 76, and his brother Prince William, 42, in posts on social media, marking the first time the royal family has publicly acknowledged Harry’s birthday since 2021.

On the official Royal Family social media accounts, which are run by King Charles’ office at Buckingham Palace, a post celebrated Harry’s milestone birthday with a simple message.

” 🎂 Wishing The Duke of Sussex a very happy 40th birthday today!,” the caption of the post read, alongside a photograph of the Duke smiling.

Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared the Royal Family’s post on their own Instagram Stories account and on X (formerly Twitter), adding their own celebratory message.

“Wishing a Happy 40th Birthday to the Duke of Sussex,” the caption above the photo read.

PEOPLE understands Harry will mark his 40th birthday on Sunday, Sept. 15, with a private celebration in Montecito, surrounded by family and friends. Harry is then expected to continue the festivities abroad with close friends.

The celebratory posts come as a surprise, as public birthday wishes are usually reserved for working royals—though occasionally made for milestone birthdays. Given the ongoing rift between Harry and his brother, as well as his strained relationship with their father, many see these first birthday messages in years as a potential olive branch from King Charles and Prince William.

In July, sources told PEOPLE that Harry’s calls and letters to King Charles, go unanswered, and his attempts to connect with Prince William — through texts, calls, and messages — were similarly ignored.

However, while the royal insider noted that the rift with Prince William was “very bad,” they added that it was not “irreparable.”

The brothers last presented a united front with their wives, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle,  after Queen Elizabeth’s death in September 2022, when they met mourners outside Windsor Castle

At the coronation of King Charles in May 2023, Harry stayed on the sidelines and sat two rows behind William and his family. At the time, Meghan remained in the U.S. for their eldest child Prince Archie’s birthday.

When Prince Harry returned to the U.K. in May 2024 for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, he did not meet with either the King or Prince William. At the time, the Duke of Sussex’s spokesperson attributed the lack of interaction between Harry and the King to the sovereign’s “full schedule.” However, sources close to Harry suggest it was because he wanted to discuss his ongoing battle for security, which he has been fighting for in court for more than four years and believes his father has the power to reinstate. (Buckingham Palace will not comment on security provisions, but a palace source previously told PEOPLE the notion that Harry’s security is in Charles’s hands is “wholly incorrect.”)

The family rift that first became public in 2020 when Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped back from their royal roles has been marked by blistering attacks and unresolved tensions. Yet for Harry, the most significant unresolved issue remains security.

Despite a positive meeting between the father and son in February following the King’s cancer diagnosis, communication between the two has since broken down. Those close to Prince Harry say the monarch no longer takes his son’s calls or replies to his letters.

“He gets ‘unavailable right now,’ ” a friend of Harry’s told PEOPLE. “His calls go unanswered. He has tried to reach out about the King’s health, but those calls go unanswered too.”

Amid the estrangement, Harry remains concerned for the safety of his wife and children.

A source close to the situation said, “Harry is determined to protect his own family at all costs.”

During a period of career uncertainty, Joanna “JoJo” Levesque found support in a friendship with Selena Gomez.

Two decades after rising to fame as a tween with the hit 2004 song “Leave (Get Out),” Levesque is looking back on her life and career so far in her debut memoir, Over the Influence, out Sept. 17, including a years-long period where she was unable to officially release music.

“My whole twenties were just a s—show of confusion,” the 33-year-old performer tells PEOPLE, reflecting on a time where her former label, Blackground Records, did not have a steady distribution deal in place to properly put out music. The label, however, still had the rights to her recorded voice under a contract signed when she was 12 years old.

Joanna “JoJo” Levesque in November 2023.

Fed up with career setbacks that were out of her control, Levesque released two free mixtapes — 2010’s Can’t Take That Away from Me and 2012’s Agapé — online to satiate fans’ hunger for new music, as well as her own desire to share art with the world.

At the same time, she remained at the mercy of the record label, obliging their requests to mold her into a marketable star in hopes of once again putting out music commercially and returning to the heights of her early fame.

“I was just like, ‘Am I this independent spirit who does what they want? Or am I a pawn of the major label systems who are telling me that I need to fit into this box, literally and figuratively?’” recalls Levesque, who writes about going to a weight loss doctor at the label’s suggestion and taking injections (long before the rise of Ozempic) to curb hunger.

“I never made a decision,” she adds. “I didn’t have the courage or stability in other areas of my life to feel confident enough to say, ‘F— y’all, this is just who I am. This is what I’m doing,’ in whatever area because I was very much still needing to have the validation and approval of the major label system, out of fear. I just didn’t know another way.”

PEOPLE can exclusively debut an excerpt from Over the Influence, in which Levesque opens up about finding support in Gomez, who brought her to a party at Taylor Swift’s house, where the “Too Little Too Late” singer ultimately left feeling as though she was running out of hope for her career.

Around the time I was introduced to yoga, a mutual friend, Francia Raisa, introduced me to Selena Gomez and we all started hanging.

Sel came to a few of my studio sessions, and I swung by hers to hang out or write together. It was honestly a breath of fresh air to be around someone who had started in this industry at such a young age, just like me, and was still so down to earth and open.

I can’t lie; I felt the occasional twinge of pain or jealousy at the outward differences in our lives and careers, but then I’d quickly reel myself back in: the level of fame she had was overwhelming to me. She couldn’t go anywhere without security flanking her and fans mobbing her at every corner. It just seemed like there was no sense of freedom for her to explore the world and be wherever and whoever she wanted to be. I imagined that must be suffocating.

It made me grateful for the relative anonymity I had whenever I walked down the street.

For Galentine’s Day, Selena invited me to Taylor Swift’s house so we could all celebrate. Taylor had this arts and crafts section set up where we took pictures of ourselves and slapped them on this cute questionnaire where we described our best qualities (and our worst ones), the things we were looking for in a guy, and the reasons why we were currently single. I snuck outside to the In-N-Out truck on her lawn to grab a burger, fries and Diet Coke, but also went out there to text the guy I’d been obsessing over at the time. This whole “girl’s night” scenario at Taylor’s, reclaiming the saddest day of the year for single folks was the best possible distraction from the complete unavailability of this f—boy.

This was such a big departure from the female popstar polarization of the 1990s and early 2000s. It was the 2010s now, and the “girl boss”/“girl gang” vibe was having a real moment. Earlier in my career, I’d been conditioned to keep girls like Selena and Taylor close but never let them really know what I was doing, going through or thinking. To be “strategic.” But I wasn’t. I sometimes wished I could be, but I simply liked who I liked and didn’t like who I didn’t like. While some of my peers could “play the game” like their lives depended on it, I never could quite figure out how to posture and politic and not feel like a big huge phony in the process. I genuinely enjoyed these girls, and although two of them were among the most famous women in the world, we had the shared experience of starting out very young, and I was happy to be let into the fold, part of a group. We stayed up late, wore sweats and no makeup, laughed until we cried, and ate copious amounts of french fries. It was awesome.

Taylor was so sweet and complimentary, and she seemed excited that Selena had brought me along with her. She mentioned deepcut songs of mine she loved and kept saying how f—ed up the lawsuit was, the fact that I couldn’t put out music. I don’t remember if she already knew what was going on from social media or if I’d told her about the situation, but she was — in no uncertain terms — letting me know she was on my side and believed in me.

I appreciated Taylor’s kind words, but I thought I could see in the eyes of everyone else at the party that they felt bad for me. Maybe they thought I was never going to get out of this limbo. Or that it was too late for me even if I did. Maybe they could tell I didn’t have the money or the parents who could help dig me out of any holes I might find myself in. Maybe they saw the imposter in my eyes. Then again, perhaps that was all my own projection.

Over the Influence: A Memoir by Joanna “JoJo” Levesque comes out Tuesday, Sept. 17 and is available now for preorders, wherever books are sold.

Donald Trump’s newest piece of campaign merch may look familiar to Taylor Swift fans.

On Thursday, Sept. 12, the Team Trump X account posted a caption that read, “Calling all Swifties for Trump,” along with a photo and link to purchase a Trump Era White T-shirt.

Priced at $36, the design closely mimics Swift’s verified Eras Tour T-shirt. A black-and-white photo of Trump is printed on top of a colorful grid of other photos of him.

The Swift-inspired merch follows Swift’s endorsement of Trump’s opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, on Tuesday night.

“I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” the “Cruel Summer” singer, 34, wrote on Instagram. “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”

The endorsement also addressed how Trump previously shared AI-generated photos of Swift that falsely implied she was backing the Republican ticket.

“It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation,” Swift wrote. “It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

At the end of the statement, Swift signed as a “Childless Cat Lady,” a nod to controversial comments made by Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance in 2021.

Trump, 78, downplayed Swift’s endorsement of Harris in an interview with Fox & Friends on Sept. 11. “It was just a question of time… But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat. And she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”

The Trump campaign is not the first to release Swift-themed merch. Moments after the endorsement, the Harris-Walz campaign started selling Swift-style friendship bracelets. The $20 blue and black bracelets read “Harris Walz 24” with proceeds supporting the Harris Victory Fund.

The Democratic National Committee is also making use of the “eras” phrasing. New digital billboards in New York City’s Times Square and on the Las Vegas Strip display a photo of Harris with text that reads “We’re in our Kamala Era.” Another billboard references Swift’s hit song “…Ready for It,” from her 2017 Reputation album, reading “A New Way Forward… Ready for It?”

This shearling bag fashion moment comes hot off the heels of New York Fashion Week. Rihanna made an appearance at the Daily Front Row’s Fashion Media Awards, donning a nude dress with a thigh-high slit and lux pale-pink teddy bear coat.

Rihanna had a costume change moment at one point in the evening, as she opted for a dazzling Alaïa cream-colored mesh dress. The off-the-shoulder ensemble was dripping with crystals and coordinated with a sparkling pair of stiletto heels.

At the Sept. 6 event, she gave a last-minute speech to her fashion editor friend Jahleel Weaver, saying she wrote it in the car on the way to the awards ceremony “because it’s my friend.”

“You have been such a pinnacle to my growth and the fashion aspect of all things. I’m so proud of you,” The “Lift Me Up” singer said of Weaver, who was honored with the magazine of the year award. “All of the things that you’ve been able to do on your own alongside me. I’m not about to cry mother—— like, you know, and now I’m going off the speech that I wrote.”

Rihanna also launched a campaign with Dior in early September. She posed in gold as the new face of J’Adore Fragrance by Dior in a short film that features her 2016 song “Love on the Brain.”

The singer called the new gig “both an honor and a mission” in a press release.

“It is more than a perfume, it is a companion and a reference,” she said of the scent. “I am especially touched to join this adventure and to contribute to it through my world, my story, my roots, as well as my creativity and my own femininity.”

Free cups and cones of ice cream will be handed out at each stop and attendees can sign up for the chance to win the autographed, limited-edition flavor. Fans can also sign up for the raffle on ScoopTheVote.com. Volunteers and elected officials will go aboard the bus and speak with voters in swing states to discuss a plan to vote by Nov. 5, according to MoveOn’s website.

MoveOn’s executive director Rahna Epting told USA Today that non-political activities can engage potential voters. “There’s a ton of folks that are already tuned into this election, and then there’s a vast, vast set of folks that aren’t,” she said.

Kamala’s Coconut Jubilee is not sold under the Ben & Jerry’s label and fans can only get a taste of the treat at the free ice cream truck. Each pint has a photograph of Harris surrounded by palm trees and red, white and blue stars. The label reads “Ben’s Best” in a font similar to Ben & Jerry’s branding.

The flavor is inspired by the vice president’s May 10, 2023, speech. The White House speech focused on advancing opportunities for Hispanic individuals. The viral coconut mention was part of a sentiment Harris’ mother told her as a child.

“Because none of us just live in a silo.  Everything is in context,” she explained in the speech. “My mother used to — she would give us a hard time sometimes, and she would say to us, ‘I don’t know what’s wrong with you young people. You think you just fell out of a coconut tree?’ “

Then after a beat, she added in a more solemn tone, “You exist in the context of all in which you live and what came before you.”

The sound bite became a TikTok trend and Harris’s supporters have been posting coconut and tree emojis on social media.

Kelly Clarkson can relate to Beyoncé getting snubbed by the 2024 CMA Awards.

After Queen Bey’s Cowboy Carter album didn’t receive any nominations at the 58th Annual CMA Awards, Clarkson reacted to the snub and recalled veering into the country genre herself, just to be told her music wouldn’t be played on radio unless she “quit pop” entirely.

“I kind of find it fascinating,” the Grammy winner told NBC10 Boston of Beyoncé’s lack of nominations, “because I feel like those songs were everywhere.”

Clarkson isn’t wrong — Cowboy Carter reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, while its lead single “Texas Hold ‘Em” hit the top slot on the Billboard Hot 100. Beyoncé, 43, notched additional top-10 hits from the album with “II Most Wanted” featuring Miley Cyrus and her cover of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” while many other tracks placed on the charts as well.

“It’s hard. I did even try years ago,” said Clarkson, recalling her own forays into country with the singles “Don’t Rush” with Vince Gill and “Tie It Up,” which followed the success of her 2010 “Don’t You Wanna Stay” duet with Jason Aldean.

“That’s a hard industry, even for me,” she added. “I was told at a lunch if I didn’t quit pop music and just go country, I would not be played. I was literally told that to my face at a lunch, and I was like, ‘OK, no offense, but I’m not ever gonna just pick one.’”

Clarkson explained the experience was difficult because she “grew up on country music,” telling the outlet, “I imagine Beyoncé did too. We’re both Texans, so you can’t escape it growing up there.”

Looking back, she said, “It just seemed like the door was closed unless I was all-in and had to leave every other genre behind, which I don’t think people like me, or even Beyoncé, are capable of doing that. It’s not even a desire or a want, it’s just like, we love dabbling. Why limit yourself?”

With time, however, Clarkson has come to terms with her career trajectory. “At the end of the day, I’ve always kind of learned in this industry, it’s not necessarily about the awards, and it’s not necessarily about any of that, really. People are showing up, right? You’re massive,” she said, nodding to Beyoncé.

“People are showing up to my concerts, they like hearing the country stuff from me, they like hearing the pop, they like hearing all the different things,” added the “Miss Independent” musician. “I’m sure they do with her as well. I think the real win there is that you don’t even need the award.”

Nominations for the 58th Annual CMA Awards were unveiled on Sept. 6, and Morgan Wallen led the pack with seven total nods, followed by  Chris Stapleton and Cody Johnson, who both earned five nominations, plus Post Malone and Lainey Wilson, who nabbed four each.

Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Megan Moroney and Kacey Musgraves each received three nominations, as did producer/songwriters Louis Bell, Charlie Handsome and Hoskins.

During an episode of The View earlier this week, Whoopi Goldberg expressed that she doesn’t understand the fuss around Beyoncé’s lack of CMA Award nominations.

“A lot of people are surprised — I don’t know why — that it didn’t receive a single CMA Award nomination. Well, this is the question: Are you surprised?” said the 68-year-old EGOT holder. “I don’t think she was snubbed, I think they just didn’t… it wasn’t for them.”
