Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum were arguably the two best players on the court during Sunday night’s 2025 NBA All-Star Game.

Curry and Tatum led Shaq’s OGs to a 42-35 win over (Candace) Parker’s Rising Stars in the first round of the mini-tournament. In the championship game, Shaq’s OGs defeated Chuck’s (Charles Barkley) Global Stars 41-25.

Through two games, Curry finished the night with 23 points on 7-of-17 shooting, ten rebounds and two assists. The four-time NBA champion received the 2025 NBA All-Star Game Kobe Bryant MVP award for his performance in front of his home crowd, the second such honor of his career.

After receiving his MVP trophy, Curry turned around and gave a three-word message to Tatum, who many fans believed should have won the All-Star MVP.

    “Lifetime achievement award,” Curry said.

Although Curry won the MVP, Tatum still had a nice night, recording 19 points on 9-of-11 shooting, five rebounds and four assists. The Celtics star also scored the game-winning bucket in the All-Star championship.

Still, some NBA fans were not happy that Tatum was snubbed in favor of Curry, taking to social media to leave their thoughts.

“@NBA your league sucks and is run by social media. Efficiency matters. Tatum was MVP,” one fan said.

“Jayson tatum robbed of ASMVP… This is getting ridiculous,” added another.

“Tatum got robbed of AS MVP, ECFMVP and FMVP in less than a year,” claimed a third.

“FAKE (expletive) MVP CURRY DID NOT DESERVE THAT MVP TATUM WAS ROBBED @NBA SHAMELESS,” commented a fourth.

“Curry for MVP is a freaking joke, that should’ve clearly gone to Tatum and only went to Curry because it was held in San Fran #rigged ridiculous,” posted a fifth.

“Tatum will get finals eastern conference and finals mvp. While curry watches from Home but total snub,” wrote a sixth.

Curry was named to his 11th All-Star game this year compared to Tatum’s sixth. The two stars had battled it out in the NBA Finals in 2022, but it was Curry and the Warriors who came out on top.

SNL star reveals why she’s a huge Travis Kelce fan… but it’s not because of Taylor Swift

SNL star Heidi Gardner revealed that Travis Kelce has been her favorite guest host on the show – and it has nothing to do with Taylor Swift.

Gardner, who joined the comedy show in 2017, was asked to choose her favorite celebrity host while on the red carpet of SNL’s 50th anniversary special on Sunday.

And while Gardner is a fan of Swift, her affinity for Kelce is because she’s a Chiefs fan and a Kansas City native.

‘Love Taylor Swift too, but I’m a Chiefs fan,’ Gardner told Page Six.

Kelce hosted the show in March 2023 – several months before he began dating Swift during the summer of that year.

Gardner, who has proudly shared her Chiefs fandom on social media, added that she would ask Kelce about his pregame routines, such as what he ate or if he showered before playing.

‘I was like a little sister just asking all the questions I’ve always wondered,’ she said.

On February 9 – the day of Kansas City’s eventual Super Bowl loss to the Eagles – Gardner penned a tribute to her team on Instagram ahead of the game.

‘I LOVE YOU CHIEFS and I think you’re the best sending you all my love and luck today,’ she wrote.

The carousel post included a slew of photos related to the team, including her in a full Patrick Mahomes uniform and her with Kelce and Mahomes at various events.

Unfortunately for Gardner, the Chiefs were stopped short in their pursuit of a historic Super Bowl three-peat as they lost to the Eagles 40-22.

While the 35-year-old tight end said before the game that he hoped to still be playing in three years, he indicated afterwards that retirement was being considered.

‘I’m gonna take some time to figure it out,’ Kelce said on his ‘New Heights’ podcast. ‘And I think I owe it to my teammates that if I do come back that it’s gonna be a wholehearted decision and I’m not half-a**ing it, and I’m fully here for them.

‘I think I can play, it’s just whether or not I’m motivated or it’s the best decision for me as a man, as a human, as a person to take on all that responsibility.’

BREAKING: Kιd Rock Takes a Stгaιght Shot at Tayloг Swιft: ‘Go Home Gιгl, Yoυг Mυsιc Is Jυst Bυbblegυm!

Well-known rock singer Kid Rock has sparked a new controversy by directly attacking Taylor Swift, one of the most successful artists in pop music today. In a recent interview, Kid Rock harshly criticized Swift, describing her music as “bubble gum” and suggesting that the singer should “go home.” This confrontation has caused a huge reaction on social media, where fans of both artists have spoken out emphatically.

During the interview, Kid Rock had no qualms about expressing his disdain for Swift’s musical style. “Go home, girl! Your music is just bubble gum, something that everyone chews for a while, but no one really appreciates afterward,” declared the singer, who has been known for his controversial comments throughout his career. These words not only surprised Taylor Swift’s fans, but also fueled the growing rivalry between rock and pop, two genres that have often been seen on opposite sides of the musical spectrum.

Kid Rock’s comment was not only an attack on Taylor Swift’s music, but also seemed to be directed at her professional success. “It’s easy to make pop music for the youth and the masses, but that doesn’t mean it’s real art,” he added. Swift, known for her evolution from country singer to global pop star, has been hailed for her ability to connect with her fans, but has also received criticism from some artists in more traditional genres such as rock, who consider her musical style too commercial.

Kid Rock’s words did not go unnoticed, especially at a time when Taylor Swift is going through a period of great success both in her musical career and in her personal life. With a series of albums that have broken records and a growing fan base around the world, Swift has established herself as one of the most influential artists of the 21st century. However, not everyone shares this enthusiasm.

The response from Taylor Swift’s fans was not long in coming. On platforms like Twitter and Instagram, hundreds of the singer’s followers expressed their disagreement with Kid Rock’s words. Many accused him of being “irrelevant” and trying to discredit an artist who, according to them, has proven to be much more than a “commercial pop star.” “Nobody asks Kid Rock to talk about Taylor Swift, it’s clear that he has a personal problem,” wrote one fan on Twitter.

For their part, Kid Rock’s followers also defended their idol, assuring that the singer has always been an honest critic of the modern music industry. “Kid Rock is not afraid to tell the truth, and the truth is that Taylor Swift’s music has no substance,” said one of the singer’s most staunch followers.

This confrontation could be nothing more than another episode in a long list of public disputes in the music industry. While Kid Rock remains a champion of old-time music, Taylor Swift continues to dominate the charts and cement her legacy as one of the most successful artists of all time.

While the feud between the two is unlikely to be resolved quickly, it will undoubtedly continue to be a topic of conversation in the media and on social media. In the meantime, fans of each artist will continue to defend their idols with the same passion that characterizes the competition between musical genres.

  • BREAKING: Patrick Mahomes Makes Strong Statement About the Chiefs Being the NFL’s Villain

BREAKING: Patrick Mahomes Makes Strong Statement About the Chiefs Being the NFL’s Villain

BREAKING: Patrick Mahomes Makes Strong Statement About the Chiefs Being the NFL’s Villain

The Kansas City Chiefs have an opportunity to make some NFL history on Sunday at Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans.

And while being the first team to win three straight Super Bowls would be quite the accomplishment, a good portion of NFL fans are actively rooting against it to actually happen.

Few would argue the Chiefs are one of the top teams in the NFL, but the manner in which they reached Super Bowl 59 has been a hot-button topic of discussion for the last five-plus months.

Twelve of Kansas City’s wins 17 wins this season including the playoffs have come in one-score games, and nearly half of them had some sort of controversial flag thrown or a seemingly blatant non-call that benefitted the Chiefs in some way, leading to fans starting an “NFL is rigged” movement on social media.

So, heading into Sunday’s matchup against the Eagles, a large contingency of fans are actively rooting against Kansas City because of the perception the NFL officials helped pave the way for them to get back to the Super Bowl.
With so much vitriol coming from the fans toward the Chiefs, it seems the NFL has a new villain, similar to the way the New England Patriots were when they won six Super Bowls under former head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady from 2001 to 2018 — an issue Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes isn’t blind to and one he addressed during Super Bowl Media Day on Monday.
I don’t even think it’s embracing being the villains,” Mahomes told reporters. “We embrace who we are. We believe we play the game the right way. We believe we play with a lot of heart and a lot of passion for the game. And we win football games, and if winning football games makes you a villain, we’re going to keep going out there and doing it.”

The Chiefs have seemingly always had an us-against-the-world mentality over the years, but this year feels a little different.
Some media pundits have openly criticized them during their recent run, but this year seems like the first time their heel role has been front-and-center in the headlines.

And while the Chiefs may have quite a few people pulling for their demise, the team seems perfectly content with embracing its anti-hero role.

“I love it,” tight Travis Kelce said on his “New Heights” podcast. “… I’m enjoying doing this with the guys that we have in there because it just makes us even more of a family. You just circle the wagons. People are saying whatever they want and they’re hating on you, you just banded together and it just makes you appreciate more of what you have because people want what you have.”

Justin Baldoni flaunts his ripped body while surfing in Hawaii as Blake Lively feud rages on due to his Recent Ear Striking post about Blake Lively…

Wave goodbye to the drama … or at least sea ya later.

Justin Baldoni showed off his washboard abs while surfing in Hawaii as his legal drama with Blake Lively continues to unfold.

The actor’s bulging biceps and rock-hard core were on display as he was photographed riding the waves Thursday.

Baldoni, 41, went shirtless while wearing navy blue board shorts and allowed his hair to flow freely in the salty breeze.

His leg muscles were fully flexed as he maintained his balance on his green surfboard.

The director appeared to be in high spirits and was spotted smiling as he floated in the water and let himself tan under the hot sun. At one point, he was seen taking a stroll along the shore.

Baldoni was joined by his friend Garrett Gee, but his wife, Emily Baldoni, did not appear to be present for the beach day, though she has been in Hawaii with him.

Last month, Emily, 40, made her first public statement showing support for Justin since Lively, 37, sued him for sexual harassment in December 2024 and also accused him of launching a smear campaign against her while promoting their movie, “It Ends With Us.”

“Happy birthday my love,” Emily captioned a PDA-packed photo with her husband and their two children via Instagram on Jan. 24.

“Celebrating the man, husband, and father that you are. I’d choose you again and again,” she added.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2013, share daughter Maiya, 9, and son Maxwell, 7.

Justin, who lives in Los Angeles, escaped to the Aloha State after denying Lively’s claims and suing the New York Times, which broke the news of his co-star’s lawsuit, for libel in December.

He then filed a $400 million lawsuit against the “Gossip Girl” alum and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation and extortion last month.

The “Jane the Virgin” alum has claimed Lively bullied him into letting her commandeer their film, which is based on Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel of the same name and hit theaters last August.

Justin admitted in a recent podcast episode that he was struggling emotionally and experiencing anxiety due to his stressful year.

The filmmaker’s attorney has also claimed his client has been “devastated financially and emotionally” by the legal battle.

Justin and Lively’s trial is scheduled to kick off in March 2026.

Patrick Mahomes and ANGRY Brittany Mahomes attends Patrick grandfather’s funeral as Chiefs QB is seen for first time since Super Bowl defeat BUT there’s something that happened that got fans Reacting Towards Brittany… WATCH THE VIDEO 👇

Patrick Mahomes was seen attending his grandfather’s funeral in Texas on Monday following his death at the age of 78 last week.

Randy Mahomes, the father of Patrick’s mother Randi, passed away on Friday after battling an unknown illness in recent months.

His death came just five days after Patrick, 29, and the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9.

The Chiefs quarterback made the trip to Henderson, Texas, on Monday for Randy’s funeral, where he was seen alongside younger brother Jackson, 24, in exclusive photos captured by DailyMail.com.

Patrick, who suffered a nightmare performance in Kansas City’s defeat at Super Bowl LIX, could be seen wearing a black polo shirt with a red rose attached to it and black sneakers, while Jackson opted for a grey suit, white shirt and navy shoes.

Randy died five days after Kansas City’s crushing defeat against Philadelphia, with Patrick’s mom announcing that he had passed away.

‘Hard to find the words of holding my fathers hand as he goes to Heaven,’ Randi Mahomes wrote alongside a series of photos of her father.

‘I know he’s in a better place. I love you daddy. Well done, good and faithful servant’.

Randi had repeatedly spoke on social media about her dad and his ill health but never revealed precisely what problem he was suffering from before his passing. Randy turned 78 on January 6.

Before the Super Bowl in New Orleans, the Chiefs quarterback’s mom said her father was ‘hanging on’ to see Patrick play in football’s showpiece game.

‘I know that it has meant a lot to him (that Patrick is in another Super Bowl). And I think he’s hanging on because he wants to see his grandson do an amazing thing or just let him play,’ she said to People.

‘I mean, he must be such a proud grandpa, so proud. And my mom was very proud and his other grandparents.’

Mahomes’ mom added that she has kept the Chiefs quarterback updated on his grandfather’s health but tried not to ‘bug him’ ahead of the Super Bowl against the Eagles.

Despite her father being moved into hospice care Randi was still in attendance at both the Super Bowl in New Orleans and last month’s AFC Championship game in Kansas City to cheer on Patrick.

After last month’s win over the Buffalo Bills, Patrick was quick to come together with his family on the field at Arrowhead Stadium.

In an emotional family moment, he posed with mom Randi, wife Brittany – just days after she gave birth to their third child – dad Patrick Snr, brother Jackson and half-sister Mia.

For Patrick, the news of his grandfather’s passing came weeks after the birth of his and wife Brittany’s third child, a second daughter called Golden Raye.

The three-time Super Bowl champion fell way below his usual standards in New Orleans earlier this month, after being sacked six times and throwing two costly interceptions – including a pick six.

Rival quarterback Jalen Hurts stole the show on the night to seal a 40-22 victory for Philadelphia, with Kansas City’s dreams of a historic three-peat coming crashing down at the very final hurdle.

Mahomes was quick to shoulder the blame after the defeat on Sunday, writing to Chiefs fans in a post on X: ‘I let y’all down today. I’ll always continue to work and try and learn and be better for it.’

He also added in his postgame press conference: ‘I can’t turn the ball over when it’s not going our way. I have to learn from that and get better from that.

Anytime you lose the Super Bowl, it’s the worst feeling. It’ll stick with you for the rest of your career. It hurt more than the wins feel good. It’s going to hurt for a while, but how can you respond to it.’

Jon Bon Jovi ‘got away with murder,’ Martha Stewart’s ‘affair’: Wild celebrity marriage confessions of 2024

Bon Jovi and wife Dorothea Hurley were high school sweethearts, eventually tying knot in 1989

Whether they exposed their marital secrets in a documentary, memoir or interview, many celebrities gave insight into the inner workings of some of Hollywood’s most famous relationships this year.

Martha Stewart admitted to her extramarital adventures, while Cher admitted to going through some dark moments during her marriage to Sonny Bono, the other half of the music duo Sonny and Cher.

Here are the wildest celebrity marriage confessions made in 2024.

    Martha Stewart

Martha Stewart did not hold back when it came to discussing her marriage to Andy Stewart in her Netflix documentary, “Martha.” In the documentary, the businesswoman shared that both she and Andy were unfaithful to each other throughout their nearly 30-year marriage.

She divulged that her first indiscretion occurred during the couple’s five-month honeymoon when she kissed a stranger during her visit to the Duomo Florence Cathedral without her husband.

“It was a very romantic place, crowded with tourists, and I met this very handsome guy,” she remembered. “He didn’t know I was married. I was this waif of a girl hanging out in the cathedral on Easter Eve. He was emotional. I was emotional. It’s just because it was an emotional place.”

She explained, “It was like nothing I had ever done before,” but she doesn’t consider the encounter with the stranger as being “unfaithful to Andrew,” instead calling it “exciting” and “emotional.”

When further discussing her marriage, Martha shared that Andy was “not happy at home” and had many affairs over the course of their marriage.

“I don’t know how many different girlfriends he had during this time, but I think there were quite a few… Young women, listen to my advice, if you’re married and your husband starts to cheat on you, he’s a piece of s—,” she said. “Get out of that marriage. But I couldn’t do that. I couldn’t walk away.”

After producers pressed her on the subject of infidelity, Martha admitted to her own “very brief affair with a very attractive Irishman” but claimed it was “nothing.”

“It was nothing. In terms of — it would never have broken up a marriage. I would never have broken up a marriage for it,” she said. “Nothing. It was like the kiss in the cathedral.”

    Jon Bon Jovi

Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley at the documentary premiere

Jon Bon Jovi is not afraid to admit he has made his fair share of mistakes over the course of his decades-long marriage to wife Dorothea Hurley. The couple were high school sweethearts and went on to elope in 1989 at the height of Bon Jovi’s fame.

“I got away with murder,” Bon Jovi told Micheal Strahan in “Halfway There,” an interview special he filmed for ABC. “I’m a rock and roll star, I’m not a saint. You know, I’m not saying that there weren’t 100 girls in my life – I’m Jon Bon Jovi. It was pretty good.”

When the couple tied the knot, Bon Jovi was known publicly as a sex symbol, but he told Strahan he wasn’t “ever going to jeopardize” anything in his life “for believing the narcissist in me was real,” adding it would not be “worth it.”

He credits his wife for helping him keep a level head during those times.

“There is no doubt in my mind that this world revolves because of her,” he said. “Because of what she did to keep the kids right, what she does to keep me right, what we do together to keep it right. No doubt about it.”

“She’s certainly not afraid to call me out on something,” he went on, “but she’s also there when I fall. And I’m there for her when she falls. No matter where I went in my career, the ups or the downs, we went there together.”

    Jana Kramer

During an episode of her podcast, “Whine Down,” Jana Kramer opened up about the dynamics of her marriage with Scottish professional soccer player Allan Russell.

Joined by her husband in the episode, the two discussed an episode of “Yellowstone” they had watched together in which Wes Bentley and Dawn Olivieri filmed a heated sex scene. The discussion then morphed into a candid conversation about how comfortable Russell would be with Kramer filming a similar scene.

“There’s not part of me that will ever, ever, ever allow that, ever, for a man to be that close to you like that,” Russell said to his wife. “Never.”

When Kramer pushed back, asking what would happen if she booked a role on another one of “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan’s shows, which required her to film a similar sex scene, he doubled down on his initial statement that he wouldn’t allow her to film it.

“Then I will go Tommy Lee on everyone,” Russell replied. “I will be phoning the producers and threatening the producers, ‘You need to change that scene. Well, this is for the good of your health, you need to change this scene.’”

    Cher

Portrait of singing duo Sonny Bono and Cher, wearing formal dress on an outdoor patio

In her memoir, “Cher: The Memoir, Part One,” released in November, Cher revealed shocking details of her marriage to singer Sonny Bono, who she was married to from 1967 to 1975.

In the book, the “Believe” singer reflected on what she would consider the couple’s “darkest moment” in their relationship, explaining they had found themselves in “a loveless marriage.” One of the more shocking revelations was that Bono once confessed to her he had had thoughts of murdering her, after she confessed to him she thought about sleeping with their guitarist, Bill.

“You know, after you went off with Bill that night at the Sahara [hotel], I seriously thought about throwing you off our balcony,” she recalled him saying. She wrote that he added, “I figured I’d plead insanity like Spade Cooley and get seven years in jail before they released me. Then I’d get a book deal and my own show.”

Cher wrote her response to Bono was that he wouldn’t “need to push me because I was gonna jump!” She wrote that while she didn’t think Bono would ever actually push her off a balcony, she was “sure it crossed his mind.”

A photo of Sonny Bono and Cher singing

The legendary singer also shared the decline of her marriage that led the then-26-year-old to consider suicide multiple times.

“I stepped barefoot onto the balcony of our suite and stared down. I was dizzy with loneliness. I saw how easy it would be to step over the edge and simply disappear. For a few crazy minutes I couldn’t imagine any other option,” she wrote.

What kept the star from jumping was thinking of her mother and her sister and the possibility that doing so would lead “people who look up to me to feel that it’s a viable solution.” She then came to the conclusion of “I don’t have to jump, I can just leave him.”

    Bette Midler

Bette Midler’s secret to a successful marriage? Separate bedrooms.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in July, the “Hocus Pocus” star shared that she and her husband, Martin von Haselberg, have never slept in the same bedroom throughout their 40-year marriage.

“My husband snores,” she said after revealing the two have always slept separately.

The two first met in 1981 and, after six weeks of dating, they tied the knot in December 1984.

They welcomed their daughter, Sophie von Haselberg, 38, just two years after getting hitched, in November 1986.

Beyoncé nearly didn’t let Saturday Night Live put a ring on the legendary “Single Ladies” sketch.

“She was very polite about it, but she was very hesitant, and when I say hesitant, I mean, like, she was not having it,” Justin Timberlake said of the Grammy winner’s initial reaction to the pitch in the documentary Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music, which NBC re-aired on Saturday.

The SNL Five-Timers Club member said it all started when he got a text message from cast member Andy Samberg, with whom he’d previously made “Dick in a Box,” telling him the idea behind a comedic recreation of Beyoncé’s classic black-and-white music video for her 2008 pop hit “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).”

“He said, ‘Bobby Moynihan has this great idea for a sketch about you, me, and him being Beyoncé’s background dancers for ‘Single Ladies’ that never made the cut,” Timberlake recalled, saying the Lonely Island member then informed him Queen Bey was going to be the week’s musical guest.

“I was like, ‘Full leotard?’ and he’s like, ‘Yeah.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, this is too funny. Like, we have to do this.’”

The NSYNC vocalist popped over to Studio 8H for the Nov. 15, 2008, episode hosted by Paul Rudd to try to help convince his “Until the End of Time” collaborator of the gold they had at their fingertips.

“I’m like, does she know how funny this is gonna be? How beloved this whole moment will be?” Timberlake remembered. “So I said, ‘Bring me the leotard.’”

The “Cry Me a River” crooner recalled putting on the black leotard, pantyhose, and high heels with a robe covering the ensemble and heading to Beyoncé’s dressing room. “I knocked on her door. I walked in, and I threw the robe down, and I put my hands on my hips.”

According to Timberlake, his move worked on the Cowboy Carter superstar. “She was like, ‘No, you didn’t,’” he said of her laughing at his getup.

In the end, it all turned out to be worth it, as the “Single Ladies” parody — featuring Rudd as a music video director introducing the singer to her backup dancers, played by Timberlake, Samberg, and Moynihan clad in leotards and heels as they do the choreography — became an instant classic.

Even former President Barack Obama boasted about doing the moves from the SNL video. “I’m not like Justin — I didn’t put on the outfit,” Obama told Beyoncé backstage at his 2009 inauguration. “I didn’t want my girls thinking that I couldn’t, y’know — I got a little something.”

For her second musical performance during the season 34 episode, Beyoncé did her own knockout rendition of the song and iconic dance. This time, alongside her actual backup dancers.

Why Justin Timberlake Missed SNL 50: The Anniversary Special

Justin Timberlake, who has been a part of memorable Saturday Night Live sketches like “D–k In a Box,” was not among the star-studded guests at the SNL 50: The Anniversary Special on Feb. 16.

Unfortunately, Justin Timberlake did not bring sexy back to Studio 8H for SNL 50: The Anniversary Special.

The “Cry Me a River” singer—whose iconic Saturday Night Live sketches include digital shorts “D–k in a Box” and “Motherlover” as well as “Omeletteville”—was not among the star-studded attendees at the Feb. 16 event honoring 50 years of the sketch comedy show.

But, he had a valid reason. “Justin is in the middle of a world tour,” a source exclusively told E! News, “and was unable to attend.” (Also missing from the audience: Dan AykroydBill HaderDana Carvey and more.)

Timberlake—a member of the SNL five-timers club after hosting the show in 2003, 2006, 2009, 2011 and 2013—first appeared on the NBC series in March 2000 when *NSYNC served as the musical guest.

Since then, the dad to kids Silas, 9, and Phineas, 4, with wife Jessica Biel, has made several memorable appearances on SNL, even performing alongside BFF Jimmy Fallon in sketches like “The Barry Gibbs Talk Show” and “Wrappinville.”

The 44-year-old’s time on the show even earned him four Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for “D–k in a Box” in 2007. Plus, he won the same award four years later for his opening monologue. Timberlake also took home the award for Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series in 2009 and 2011 for his work on SNL.

In addition to his on-camera work, Timberlake, as it turns out, also played a key role behind the scenes at SNL, specifically over a “Single Ladies” sketch for Beyoncé in 2008.

As Timberlake explained in Questlove and Oz Rodriguez‘s new documentary Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music, he received a text from Andy Samberg with a star-studded pitch.

“He said, ‘Bobby Moynihan has this great idea for a sketch about you, me, and him being Beyoncé’s background dancers that never made the cut,’” Timberlake recalled. “I was like, ‘Full leotard’? And he’s like, ‘Yeah.’ I was like, ‘This is too funny. We have to do this.’”

As for how Bey felt about it?

“She was very polite about it, but she was very hesitant,” Timberlake shared. “And when I say hesitant, I mean like, she was not having it. I’m like: Does she know how funny this is gonna be? How beloved this whole moment will be?”

“I put the leotard and the heels and the hose on and everything, and put a robe on,” he continued. “I walked and knocked on her door, I threw the robe down and put my hands on my hips and she was like, ‘No you didn’t!’”

    And it did the trick.
