However, it quickly turned into a confrontation between the two factions. Vance accused the Ukrainian president of being “disrespectful” for talking policy in front of American journalists.

“Right now, you guys are going around and forcing conscripts to the front lines because you have manpower problems,” Vance told Zelenskyy during the tense conversation. “You should be thanking the president for trying to bring you into this conference.”

Trump told Zelenskyy that the United States has “backed you far more” some think it should have, similarly suggesting that the Ukrainian president was ungrateful.

Following the meeting, Zelenskyy canceled the rest of his planned appearances in Washington, D.C.

NO CHANCE! Britney Spears REFUSES to Let Millie Bobby Brown Star in Her Biopic—The SHOCKING Reason Why!

Millie Bobby Brown has made it her ‘life mission’ to play Britney Spears in her upcoming biopic, changing her entire look and reportedly enlisting her famous father-in-law in her attempts to secure the part.

But portraying the Princess of Pop will be no easy feat for the Stranger Things star, whose biggest hurdle is Britney herself – and having watched her audition tape, she is unconvinced that Millie has what it takes.

The actress, 21, has long been vocal been about how much she wants to play the Hit Me Baby… One More Time singer, once describing it as her ‘dream role’ before the tell-all biopic, based on Britney’s best-selling book, The Woman In Me, was announced.

‘Millie Bobby Brown is so desperate to play Britney that those close to her feel it has become her life mission right now,’ an insider told DailyMail.com. ‘She believes she was born for this role.

‘The problem is, Britney isn’t on board. She doesn’t see the resemblance.’

The insider said that Millie has ‘not spoken directly with Britney’, but added that the singer, who is heavily involved in the project, has ‘seen her audition tape’.

They claimed that ‘desperate’ Millie is doing everything in her power to convince the pop star, 43, even going as far as revamping her appearance.

Millie debuted a new blonde look earlier this month – one that is strikingly similar to Britney’s – and has flaunted it all over social media.

‘Her new look is clearly an attempt to show she can embody Britney,’ the source said.

The actress has even tried to use her famous father-in-law, Jon Bon Jovi’s ‘connections’ to help her get the role, according to the insider.

‘She has been trying to leverage connections through her well-connected father-in-law in a bid to land the role that she has dreamed of long before a biopic was even announced,’ they said.

But the source added that no matter how hard Millie tries to ’embody Britney’, the singer is still ‘not convinced’.

‘The casting process has been going on for months, and if Millie were the perfect choice, they would have cast her by now,’ they said.

‘They can make her look like Britney with prosthetics and makeup, but ultimately, Britney will make the final call, and she’s not convinced by Millie right now.’

Millie’s drastic new look drew fierce criticism online – with some even mistaking her for ‘someone’s mom’ after she was pictured with her younger sister.

The Enola Holmes alum spoke about her desire to play Britney with ET last week.

‘Nothing would make me happier than being able to play such an iconic, beautiful person,’ she said. ‘I leave that to the Gods.’

She also previously told Access Hollywood that she would ‘love nothing more than to be a part of [Britney’s] story’.

‘I would want someone to bring it to life in the most beautiful way, and I’d always be open to that,’ she added.

During an appearance on the Drew Barrymore Show in 2022, she said playing Britney would be her ‘dream role’ after Stranger Things.

‘I wanna play a real person,’ the actress said at the time, before revealing that she wanted to portray the iconic pop princess.

‘I think her story resonates with me,’ she continued.

The insider continued: ‘The casting process has been going on for months, and if Millie were the perfect choice, they would have cast her by now’

She pointed out that she and Britney both shared the experience of ‘growing up in public’, and said she related to Britney when she would watch her old interviews.

At the time, the movie wasn’t even in the works, and Britney seemed to take offense at Millie’s comments.

‘I hear about people wanting to do movies about my life… dude I’m not dead!!!” she wrote on Instagram the following day.

After a dramatic bidding war last year, Universal Studios won the rights to produce a Britney biopic, and Wicked director Jon M. Chu signed on to direct it.

Last month at the Golden Globe Awards, Jon gave an update on the making of the biopic, and he cautioned that telling a sensitive story meant the biopic couldn’t be rushed out.

‘We’re developing it now and it’s a long road ahead,’ he said.

While chatting with Entertainment Tonight, the Crazy Rich Asians director also explained that he was determined to keep Britney in the loop on the film about her life.

‘She’s going to be very involved. I haven’t really started anything fully yet, but she will be very involved in this,’ he said. ‘I have ideas and things, an approach, but it’s very early.’

A separate source previously told DailyMail.com that Britney is working on new music for the soundtrack.

‘Britney is making music to be included in the soundtrack for her upcoming biopic and is heavily involved in the process,’ the insider exclusively revealed to DailyMail.com.

‘She will rerecord some of her old tracks to fit the film’s vibe and they will also rework some of her music but for the film, she knows that she needs one new banger to really get the excitement going and this will be a song about her entire story.’

Britney’s book sent shockwaves around the globe when it came out last year, over the slew of shocking admissions and bombshell revelations.

She detailed everything from her highly publicized relationship with Justin Timberlake to her 13-year conservatorship.

It quickly became the ‘highest selling celebrity memoir in history,’ and reportedly sold over two million copies in the US – boosted by the Michelle Williams-narrated audiobook.

According to TMZ, Britney earned 25 percent of the net profits from the book, along with a $12.5million advance.

Demi Moore and Ariana Grande received their first Oscar nominations for ‘The Substance’ and ‘Wicked,’ respectively

The 2025 Oscars are right around the corner.

Former late-night talk show host Conan O’Brien is set to host Hollywood’s biggest night, where stars such as Demi Moore, Ariana Grande and Edward Norton are battling it out for the film industry’s top honors.

Here is everything you need to know about this year’s Academy Awards.

How to watch

The ceremony is set to air on Sunday on ABC at 7 p.m. ET, an hour earlier than in the past. In addition, the award show will simultaneously be available to stream live on Hulu for the first time ever.

It will also be available to stream on Hulu in its entirety the following day, for anyone who was unable to watch it as it was airing.

Nominees

This year’s show features a lot of first-time nominees in all the categories, with many of the first-times coming out of the gate as frontrunners in the competition.

Leading up to the Academy Awards, Demi Moore won both the Golden Globe and the Critics Choice Award for her leading role in “The Substance,” a movie which is also nominated for best picture. Other first-time nominees in the lead actress race include Fernanda Torres for “I’m Still Here,” Mikey Madison for “Anora” and Karla Sofía Gascón for “Emilia Perez.” They are joined by previous two-time nominee Cynthia Erivo for “Wicked.”

Many of the nominated performances came from films which were also nominated for best picture. “Emilia Perez” received the most nominations this year, with 13, and was joined by “Nickel Boys,” “The Brutalist,” “Conclave,” “A Complete Unknown,” “The Substance,” “I’m Still Here,” “Anora,” “Wicked” and “Dune Part Two.”

Other first-time nominees this year include Kieran Culkin for “A Real Pain,” Zoe Saldaña for “Emilia Perez,” Ariana Grande for “Wicked,” Guy Pearce for “The Brutalist,” Isabella Rossellini for “Conclave” and others.

Previous nominees Cynthia Erivo, Edward Norton and Felicity Jones join the first-time nominees in the running for the acting categories, as they are nominated for “Wicked,” “A Complete Unknown” and “The Brutalist,” respectively.

Snubs

When the nominees were announced in January, social media users were quick to point out which were the biggest snubs this year. Many believed Angelina Jolie would receive her third Academy Award nomination for her leading role in “Maria,” playing famed opera singer Maria Callas during the final days of her life; however, she was shut out of the award show.

Pamela Anderson starred as an aging Las Vegas showgirl in what many were calling a career-defining performance for her, and were shocked the Academy failed to recognize her performance with a nomination for her role in “The Last Showgirl.”

Also left out of the nominations this year was Nicole Kidman, for her leading role in “Babygirl.” The actress was previously nominated for a Golden Globe for the role and won at both the Palm Springs Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival for playing a successful CEO who meets and engages in an affair with a younger man.

While “Emilia Perez” received 13 nominations at this year’s award show, one of its stars was left out of the running. Selena Gomez, who plays the Mexican-American former wife of a transgender cartel boss, was overlooked by the Academy for her performance, which was also one of the first times the actress acted in Spanish.

Many also expected great things for Denzel Washington when he starred as Macrinus in “Gladiator II,” but despite receiving a Golden Globe nomination, the actor has been shut out from every other award show, including the Oscars. The film itself also failed to receive a nomination.

Presenters

Many previous Academy Award winners are returning to the award show as presenters this year, including Goldie Hawn, Halle Berry and Penélope Cruz, who have won in the past for “Cactus Flower,” “Monster’s Ball” and “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” respectively.

In keeping with the tradition of the award show, the winners of last year’s acting categories will return to present the four Oscars to this year’s winners. Emma Stone, who won for her leading role in “Poor Things,” will present the award for this year’s best actor winners, and Cillian Murphy, who won for his leading role in “Oppenheimer,” will present the award for this year’s best actress winner.

Robert Downey Jr., who won last year for his supporting role in “Oppenheimer,” will present the award for best supporting actress, and Da’Vine Joy Randolph, who won last year for her supporting role in “The Holdovers” will present the award for best supporting actor.

Also presenting at this year’s award show are past nominees, including Oprah Winfrey, Scarlett Johansson, Ana de Armas and more. In addition, actors starring in this year’s best picture-nominated movies are also set to present, including Elle Fanning, Selena Gomez, Lily-Rose Depp and Bowen Yang, who appeared in “A Complete Unknown,” “Emilia Perez,” “Nosferatu” and “Wicked,” respectively.

Performers

In previous years, the artists who sang the tunes nominated for best original song would take turns singing them on stage throughout the show. However, the format will be a little different this year.

Rather than have the singers perform, the show will honor the songwriters who created the songs. This year’s nominees for best song include “Like a Bird” from “Sing Sing,” “Mi Camino” and “El Mal” from “Emilia Perez,” “Never Too Late” from “Elton John: Never Too Late” and “The Journey” from “The Six Triple Eight.”

Although viewers won’t be hearing the nominated songs during the show, there will be some performances from other artists. Performers include Lisa with the group Blackpink, Doja Cat, Queen Latifah and Raye. “Wicked” was not eligible for nominations in the best original song category, as it featured preexisting songs from the Broadway musical, but its stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are set to take the stage together to perform an unknown song.

Riley Gaines calls on Caitlin Clark, Simone Biles to stand against transgender athletes in women’s sports

‘The issue would be solved across all levels, like yesterday, if they were willing to do this,’ Gaines said

The movement against transgender athletes in women’s and girls sports has drawn support from the majority of Americans, politicians in power and even a niche consumer market. Now, one of the leaders of that movement is calling for some big star-powered reinforcements.

Former NCAA swimmer and conservative influencer Riley Gaines has been one of the most active advocates of the movement, dating back to her infamous tie with transgender swimmer Lia Thomas at the 2022 NCAA championships. In 2024, Gaines became the first brand ambassador for the activist sportswear brand XX-XY Athletics.

The brand gained prominence and profitability by becoming the first sportswear company dedicated to promoting activism against transgender inclusion in women’s sports. It also created financial incentives for women’s college athletes across the country to take a stand on the issue by signing with the brand.

Gaines believes two stars can help propel the brand and movement to new heights.

“People who I think would be critical to this movement are, of course, people like Caitlin Clark, people like Simone Biles, which I think is definitely a stretch, but these are women who have been able to shatter glass ceilings and break barriers, who are role models to young girls across the country,” Gaines told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview.

“To have them emphatically say they [trans athletes] do not belong in women’s sports would be, the issue would be solved across all levels, like yesterday, if they were willing to do this.”

Gaines said it’s “not as far out of reach” as it sounds due to a culture shift among Americans to protect women and girls from transgender athletes.

XX-XY founder Jennifer Sey, a former U.S. gymnast and Levi’s executive, addressed Gaines’ pitch to Clark and Biles in a statement to Fox News Digital.

“We are always encouraging more female athletes to join the fight. And we’d love to work with anyone standing up for the integrity of women’s sports. We are in constant conversations with those who have stood up or are considering doing so,” Sey said. “We believe this ends when the athletes defend women’s sports in large numbers.”

Sey previously told Fox Business her brand surpassed a seven-figure profit in its first 10 months in 2024, but she still believes her brand is lacking a superstar women’s athlete as a brand ambassador.

“There isn’t a top-tier competitive female athlete or coach that has stood up for the protection of women’s sports,” Sey said.

“We don’t have any currently competing top-tier athletes who have spoken out. I think that’s an illustration of how far we have to go. It should be normal for them to stand up and say, ‘I will fight for the protection of women’s sports,’ and yet they haven’t because I think a lot of them are afraid of being called terrible names.”

Gaines and Sey say the brand is “in talks” with prominent women athletes, including Olympians.

“They’re in the works and (there are) conversations with many amazing athletes, Olympians and beyond,” Gaines said.

A recent New York Times/Ipsos survey found the vast majority of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, don’t think transgender athletes should be permitted to compete in women’s sports.

“Thinking about transgender female athletes — meaning athletes who were male at birth but who currently identify as female — do you think they should or should not be allowed to compete in women’s sports?” the survey asked.

Of the 2,128 people who participated, 79% said biological males who identify as women should not be allowed to participate in women’s sports.

Of the 1,025 people who identified as Democrats or leaning Democrat, 67% said transgender athletes should not be allowed to compete with women.

Nearly 70% of Americans say biological men should not be permitted to compete in women’s sports, according to a Gallup poll last year.

In June 2024, a survey conducted by NORC at the University of Chicago asked respondents whether transgender athletes of both sexes should be permitted to participate in sports leagues that correspond to their preferred gender identity instead of their biological sex. In that survey, 65% answered that it should never or rarely be allowed. When those polled were asked specifically about adult transgender female athletes competing in women’s sports, 69% opposed it.

However, resistance to opposing trans inclusion in women’s sports has prompted harassment and even crime against athletes involved in the movement, including XX-XY Athletics brand ambassadors.

Former San Jose State University women’s volleyball co-captain Brooke Slusser, who signed with the brand after speaking out against her school and the NCAA, citing her experience with transgender teammate Blaire Fleming in the fall, told Fox News Digital she had to leave campus this semester after being harassed and threatened for her beliefs.

Slusser’s former SJSU assistant coach, Melissa Batie-Smoose, who appeared in XX-XY Athletics’ recent “We See You NCAA” advertisement, had her home shot at in February and believes she was targeted for speaking out against the university’s alleged favoritism of Fleming.

“It’s crazy what we have seen from the other side,” Gaines said. “But it doesn’t have the chokehold that it once did.”

 

Kat Timpf reveals breast cancer diagnosis while announcing the birth of her son

‘Thank you all for your support, laughter, and love as I embrace this wildly unexpected chapter,’ Timpf wrote

Fox News’ Kat Timpf revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer just hours before giving birth to her first child.

Timpf took to social media on Tuesday with what she called an “unconventional birth announcement.”

“Last week, I welcomed my first child into the world. About fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer,” Timpf wrote on X. “Now, before you worry, my doctor says it’s Stage 0 and is confident that it almost certainly hasn’t spread. Or, as I’ve explained to the few people I’ve managed to tell about it so far: Don’t freak out. It’s just, like, a LITTLE bit of cancer.” 

She continued, “Still, it was not a chill day. I mean, to say the least! I woke up more-than-a-week-past-due pregnant, completely consumed by doing everything I could to get the baby out. By the middle of the afternoon, I was waddling around from appointment to appointment, talking about how to get my cancer out. I sat and listened as they told me that the best course of action would likely be a double mastectomy as soon as possible. I asked all the questions I could, including if I could get a copy of my tumor ultrasound to put on the fridge next to the ultrasound of my baby. Finally, by the middle of the night, I was crawling around on the floor of my apartment in spontaneous labor, before heading to the hospital to meet my baby, whom I’d learn at the time of birth was a son.”

The author and comedian praised hospital staff for making “excellent audiences for dark humor.”

“Just minutes after my boy was born, I was talking with the nurses about what a birth announcement in my situation might look like. Should I go with ‘Mom and baby are doing well, except maybe for mom’s cancer, and then maybe the baby after breastfeeding is stunted by her double mastectomy,’ and then shut off my phone for a week?” Timpf wrote.

“Anyway! These next three months of maternity leave are going to look a lot different than I’d anticipated, and I’m still getting used to my new reality. Still, as I navigate new motherhood (and new cancer) I’m learning to celebrate everything I can,” Timpf said. “I’m lucky that we found the cancer so early; I’m lucky to be my son’s mom. I mean, I know I’m biased, but the little dude absolutely rules — and not just because he might have saved my life. Thank you all for your support, laughter, and love as I embrace this wildly unexpected chapter. Here’s to resilience, to miracles in the midst of chaos, and to finding humor and hope even on the toughest days.”

Timpf received an outpouring of support on social media, including many members of the Fox News family.

“We’re all here for you Kat!” Greg Gutfeld posted on X.

“Praying for you and your family, Kat. Sending you lots of love!” Kayleigh McEnany told Timpf.

“We love you, Kat, & will be here for you every step of the way,” Guy Benson said.

“Love you. Always here for you. You have an army of us ready to help. Congratulations my love. You will be a wonderful mom,” Janice Dean said.

“You are so loved, Kat! And supported. That he already saved your life is a beautiful part of all this. Here for you,” Jessica Tarlov wrote.
