A well-liked country music performer is Toby Keith. His supporters were very concerned when the news of his cancer diagnosis became public.

Tricia Lucus, Toby Keith’s wife, has been his partner for almost 40 years. Even before his cancer diagnosis and treatment, Lucus remained by his side through good times and bad.

There was a time when Toby Keith had little to his name and struggled to establish himself.In 1979, Toby Keith received his high school diploma from Moore.

He accepted a job working in the oil fields right out of high school, earning $50,000 a year.

Keith had a passion for music even back then. Later, he revealed that, up until that moment, he had probably composed “200 to 300 songs,” but only one of them would go on to become a hit.

The two of them spent the entire night dancing after he met Tricia Lucus. At the time, Lucus was a 19-year-old secretary for an oil business. Later, in June 2001, she spoke with People Magazine about what drew her to Toby Keith. He was one of those over-the-top, self-assured individuals, she added.

On March 24, 1984, the pair tied the knot after three years of dating. In 1980, Lucus gave birth to a daughter from a prior relationship. Toby Keith later took her in as his own child.

Toby Keith decided to concentrate completely on his music career as his employer, an oil company, went bankrupt during the time when all of this was taking place. He committed himself fully to his music career.

Keith was confident that he would succeed in the big time shortly, despite the young couple’s financial struggles. He frequently told his wife, “He’d say, ‘Trish, one of these days, my time is coming. Hang in there.’”

The couple had creditors breathing down their necks. Many would advise Lucus to tell Keith to get “a real job.” But the two of them never gave up their dream.

“As Good as I Once Was” singer has often said how lucky he feels that his wife always supported him and did not listen to the naysayers. He said, “It took a strong-hearted and loving woman to say, ‘He’s good enough at his music that I’ve got to let him try.”

But she was right to have faith in her husband. Toby Keith’s current net worth was calculated in a Forbes article from June 2013. According to the story, Keith never earned less than $48 million in a single year. Additionally, he earned roughly $270 million between 2012 and 2013.

Every year for the past 20 years, the singer has penned No. 1 country hits. One of the most commercially successful country singers to have ever lived, his estimated net worth is $500 million.

His big breakthrough came in 1993 when he released his song “Should’ve Been a Cowboy.” When the song received airplay on the radio, it became an instant hit. The song then went on to become one of the most-played songs on air for the 1990s.

In June 2022, Keith announced that he was taking a break from the limelight to focus on his treatment and on getting better. He had to undergo chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.

Throughout his journey, he has been keeping his fans updated with everything. He wants to make sure that he lets all his fans know how he is doing. He recently wrote an update on Instagram saying how his fans are the “best.” Adding, “Thank you all for your love and support. I have the best fans in the world.”

Toby recently posted a significant professional update to his Instagram page. On May 24, he made an announcement about buying the storied bait and tackle company Luck E Strike.

It’s a show that frequently leaves viewers thinking, “Where are they now?” due to its large ensemble of endearing characters and performances.

One of the performers that left show business behind was Melissa Sue Anderson, who played Mary Ingalls on the program. Recently, she explained why she departed Hollywood and the spotlight.

In Berkeley, California, Melissa Sue Anderson was born on September 26, 1962. She was an introverted child who preferred reading books to climbing trees. However, the young lady with the marble-clear blue eyes quickly caught the attention of everyone around her for her stage presence. One of the girl’s dance instructors suggested to her parents that they speak with an agency.

Anderson, an A-student, started her acting career as a child actress, playing the character of Millicent on The Brady Bunch and Bewitched, where she gave Bobby his first kiss. However, after being cast as Mary Ingalls, one of the main characters, in Little House, she had her big break and defining role.

She had a starring role for the first seven seasons and guest roles for the last eight. Anderson was nominated for the award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series as well.

“I’m lucky that there even was a character to play, because in the book, there isn’t much of one,” she tells me from her home in Montreal.  “Laura [Ingalls, author of the Little House novels upon which the series was based and the story was centered] was a quite older woman when she wrote the books. She was remembering the best of her life. The characters of Ma and Mary didn’t factor in a lot. There was a lot of Laura and Pa and Laura and Jack the dog and Laura and Mr. Edwards, but there wasn’t a lot of Mary. I’m fortunate that they discovered that I could act,” Anderson told Pop Entertainment in 2010.

It wasn’t simple for the young actress, who was still in high school, to rise to fame as one of the nation’s most recognizable faces.

”A lot of kids at school are curious and ask inappropriate questions, like, ’How much do you make?’ That’s embarrassing. I’ll just give them a look that lets them know what I think of the question or tell them it’s none of their business,” she told Iowa City Press-Citizen in 1977.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Anderson made almost $1.5 million during the course of her Hollywood career. But the young actress’s pay wasn’t all that high when she worked at Little House.

”Everybody thinks actors make a lot of money. But we don’t. At least, not by the time we pay certain costs. Twenty-five of my pay goes into a trust fund. 10 percent to my agent and I spend a lot – too much – on my fan club which has 1,500 members. The initial cost people pay for belonging to the club is one thing, but we spend extra to send out letters, bulletins, Christmas cards. It’s publicity and everything, but it’s costing a lot. Plus, I pay my mom for coming to the set every day, because I’d hire someone to take me here and home anyway,” she said in 1977.

Its cast of adored characters and the performers who played them, all of whom achieved breakthrough fame as a result of the show, are a major factor in its popularity and durability. Young performers like Melissa Gilbert Sue became household names thanks to the program, which also handed veteran actor Michael Landon his most iconic role to date as the family’s “Pa,” Charles Ingalls.

The actors’ on-screen chemistry was so strong that you would have thought they were a genuine family, and the co-stars spent a lot of time together off-screen. The actors didn’t always get along, though. Melissa Gilbert once discussed her true feelings toward the actress who played Mary Ingalls.

For a brief period in the 1980s, Melissa Sue Anderson dated Frank Sinatra Jr. They first connected when Melissa, who was 17 at the time, appeared as a guest on The Love Boat. When they first met, Frank Sinatra Jr. was 19 years her senior.

”Frank Jr. stood right next to the camera and cheered me on,” Melissa said.

”He was a great help.”

But according to Melissa, the alleged romance was blown out of proportion.

”He is just a very good friend,” she said. Melissa wed television producer Michael Sloan in 1990. They have a boy named Griffin (born 1996) and a daughter named Piper (born 1991). She decided to become a Canadian citizen as a result of family life. The family relocated to Montreal in 2002, and in 2007 they were granted citizenship.

“The whole family is Canadian exactly now, and my husband and I had to take the test, and we studied and studied and studied,” she said in an interview with E-Talk.

She also admitted that she intended to take a break from the entertainment industry while her children grew up in order to spend more time with them and prevent any pressure to follow in her footsteps and become child stars.

“I really stepped away for a long time,” she said. “That was really for the kids so they would have their own sense of who they were as opposed to being with me.”

She claimed that her children are no longer interested in performing, yet despite this, she has returned to the spotlight by taking on modest TV and film roles. In an interview from her New York home, Close said she was relieved to be reunited with her dog after a busy schedule that included time spent in isolation following a Covid diagnosis that prevented her from attending the 2023 Oscars, where she had planned to give an award alongside Harrison Ford.

She’s the person that I call probably the most to get her opinion about something, because she’ll have a perspective that I know I don’t have, and I need that perspective.”

Close lost that year to Olivia Coleman’s performance in The Favourite. The star’s eighth Oscar nomination was for Hillbilly Elegy (2020) where she played the mother of Amy Adams.

It’s not surprising that Close, who played the enraged bunny boiler in 1987, appears older given that he has performed on stage or in films for more than 40 years.

Though she admits that sometimes it’s hard to not play into Hollywood’s beauty game, she says, “I’ve always felt that my body is not really who I am. We have this house, if you will, that we look out of during our whole life, and it’s not who you are. It’s made me think about it because I’m 75, and I look out in the world, and I feel like I’m looking out in the world with the energy of somebody in their 20s. And that’s who I am.”

She continues, “But I look at my arm in the morning at a certain light and I go, ‘Ah! Are you kidding me? Whose arm is this? Are you kidding?’ And it’s like, Okay, I see; it’s happening. So, I’m trying to come to the point that I just embrace my—what’s the word they use for it? Creepy skin?” Explaining that she’s determined, every day, to find beauty in even her aging skin.

“Is there a beauty in it? I try to think that maybe it looks like the sand after the tide has gone out. We are so brainwashed about skin. Certainly, about women’s skin. The texture of your skin, and the warm, the hard, smooth bodies against the ones that are fighting to get a waist again. It’s actually fascinating to me, because as our house ages, we should get more and more interesting and interested. And yet you have this facade that people see.”

Her outward appearance exudes grace and prodigious talent. Close continues to push herself in addition to playing roles in box office hits. For her role in Tehran, the critically acclaimed Apple+ thriller’s second season, she dons a habib and speaks fluent Farsi, marking a first for her career.

“I studied for about two months,” she said. “I had three lessons a day. I said to everyone, ‘I want to speak Farsi that will surprise Farsi speakers.’ And so we worked really hard.”

He has yet to make his acting debut, but he now has two projects in development: he was chosen for the HBO Max film Sweethearts, which will be finished in August 2022.

In the comedy Rockbottom, which is purportedly about a hair metal band, he was also cast. Jake will portray the role of Justin, a “potential new lead singer” who “must overcome stage fright to lead the band back to glory.”

Jaylen Brown Delivers Sparkling Two-Way Effort in 37-Point Win Over Indy

BOSTON – Jaylen Brown was sparkling as he walked up to the podium Friday night after delivering a season-high 44 points in a 142-105 win over the Indiana Pacers.

Not just figuratively sparkling; the Celtics superstar was literally twinkling under the fluorescent lighting in a jewel-encrusted beanie, a fitting fashion choice on this occasion.

“I’m a king, so I got some jewels,” Brown smiled when asked about his unique headgear.

Not only did Brown deliver his highest-scoring performance in nearly three years, but he also snagged four steals in the effort to become just the fifth Celtic to record a 40-point, four-steal effort in a regular-season game.

We all know Brown is an offensive superstar, but what he’s doing on the defensive end deserves more recognition.

“People don’t pay enough attention to it,” Brown said of the general underappreciation for defense. “But I feel like I’m one of the best two-way players in the world. I try to hang my hat on that side by doing different assignments, like picking up guys full court, chasing guys off screens, switching onto bigs. That takes a lot of energy.”

Especially when you’re scoring in the mid-20s on the other end. Or in Friday night’s case, in the mid-40s.

Brown opened the game with a perfect first quarter: 15 points on 6-of-6 shooting from the field, including 3-for-3 from beyond the 3-point arc. He made his first nine field goal attempts of the game before finishing 16-of-24 from the field, 6-of-11 from deep, and 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.

But what made the effort truly special was that he was putting in just as much work on the other end. Not a single Pacers guard or wing shot above 50 percent from the field. Brown’s on-ball defense played a massive role in such limitation.

After the game, Payton Pritchard vouched for Brown’s All-Defense candidacy.

“What he is capable of doing, and at his size, you don’t see many people picking up full-court like that, guarding the best guards in the world,” Pritchard said. “Usually somebody his size would guard a wing, but he’s picking up the best point guards in the world full-court and then like he said, scoring 25 (per game). People don’t really understand how difficult that really is. They overestimate what that takes. He should definitely be in the All-Defensive Team category because we give him the hardest assignments. It’s an exhausting thing, and he’s creating havoc and making things tough every night. So they definitely need to take notice.”

Celtics fans certainly took notice. They gave Brown a standing ovation when he exited the game in the fourth quarter after playing 37 of the first 39 minutes, providing non-stop hustle on both ends.

He came into the game on a mission to help his team bounce back from a tough stretch of losses, and he got back to leading them on the defensive end, first and foremost.

“Defense is where our team needs to set the tone and hang our hats,” Brown said, still wearing his. “And I feel like I’m the leader of that.”

Christmas is over for the Mahomes family, but a prominent member still needs prayers.

Randi shared a story on her Instagram handle with her father, who has been facing health challenges. “Asking for prayers for my father,” Randi wrote in her story.

This post from Patrick Mahomes’ mother comes three months after she shared a picture of her daughter Mia as she sat by a hospital bed while Patrick’s grandfather was lying facing the television – appearing to watch Mahomes and the Chiefs against Los Angeles Chargers.

On Wednesday, the Kansas City Chiefs celebrated this holiday season with a commanding 29-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The win moved them to 15-1, clinching the AFC’s top postseason seed with the coveted first-round bye.

“It’s just going to be nice getting guys healthy,” Mahomes said.

“This was the earliest bye I’ve ever had, just in general. To kind of have had this grind of whatever it is, I think we had a bye on Week 6, so it’s like almost 10 weeks of just football and grinding this short schedule at the very end of the year. We had some guys banged up, and to get them back healthy now, we’ll see how Week 18 goes and who plays and who doesn’t play, that’s up to coach, but even getting this little break, getting back healthy, and then getting ourselves ready to go for the playoffs, it was super important, especially with the guys we have banged -up.”
