“Jon Bon Jovi: Rock Legend Honored as MusicCares’ ‘Person of the Year’ for Revolutionizing Music and Changing Lives”

Jon Bon Jovi, the iconic American hard rock artist, is set to receive one of the highest honors in the music industry, being named the 2024 MusicCares “Person of the Year.” This recognition will be celebrated at the annual benefit gala on February 2, 2024, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

While Bon Jovi is widely renowned for his musical legacy, particularly his contributions as the frontman of the band Bon Jovi, this honor also highlights his significant philanthropic efforts. Throughout his career, he has proven to be not just an influential artist, but also a compassionate advocate for social change.

Bon Jovi’s journey to fame began in the early 1980s when he founded the band Bon Jovi. The band quickly rose to international prominence with the release of their breakthrough album Slippery When Wet in 1986, featuring hits like “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “You Give Love a Bad Name.” The album’s commercial success marked the beginning of a long and prosperous career for the band, cementing their place in the annals of rock history.

Their powerful combination of catchy melodies, anthemic choruses, and Bon Jovi’s distinct voice resonated with millions around the world. Over the decades, Bon Jovi has released numerous chart-topping albums and toured extensively, solidifying their status as one of the most successful rock bands of all time.

However, while Bon Jovi’s musical achievements are legendary, it is his work off the stage that has earned him an equally impressive reputation. In 2006, Jon Bon Jovi established the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to fighting poverty, hunger, and homelessness.

The foundation was born out of Bon Jovi’s deep sense of responsibility toward the less fortunate, particularly those facing the harsh realities of life on the streets. The foundation’s mission is clear: to provide shelter, sustenance, and a path toward self-sufficiency for individuals and families in need.

The creation of the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation was inspired by Bon Jovi’s childhood experiences growing up in a working-class family. He witnessed firsthand the struggles of those less fortunate, which left a lasting impression on him.

With the launch of the Soul Foundation, Bon Jovi sought not only to raise awareness about homelessness and poverty but also to provide tangible solutions. One of the foundation’s most notable initiatives is the Soul Kitchens project, a series of community restaurants where anyone, regardless of their ability to pay, can enjoy a meal. These kitchens operate on a pay-what-you-can model, ensuring that no one is turned away due to financial hardship.

Beyond the Soul Kitchens, the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation has played an integral role in the development of affordable housing projects. Through collaborations with local governments and non-profit organizations, the foundation has helped build homes for low-income families and provided emergency relief for individuals experiencing homelessness. These efforts have not only given people a chance at a better life but have also sparked a larger conversation about systemic issues surrounding homelessness and poverty in the United States.

Bon Jovi’s philanthropy goes beyond monetary contributions; it is deeply personal and rooted in his desire to create lasting change in the lives of others. His commitment to giving back extends beyond the boundaries of his foundation’s work, as he has consistently used his fame and platform to advocate for social justice issues. He has spoken out on behalf of veterans, the LGBTQ+ community, and those struggling with addiction, urging policymakers and citizens alike to do more to address these challenges.

In addition to his philanthropic endeavors, Bon Jovi’s humanitarian spirit is evident in his interactions with fans and his role as a mentor to younger artists. He has made it a priority to remain connected to his roots and to use his success as a force for good. Whether it’s through charity concerts, donating proceeds from his tours to various causes, or speaking at fundraisers, Bon Jovi has demonstrated time and again that his heart lies with those who need help the most.

Bon Jovi’s advocacy work and his profound impact on social issues have not gone unnoticed. In addition to receiving numerous accolades for his music, he has been recognized for his philanthropic efforts as well. Over the years, he has received awards from organizations such as the Elton John AIDS Foundation, the Point Foundation, and others for his contributions to improving the lives of those less fortunate. His tireless work to create change has made him a role model for others in the entertainment industry and beyond, proving that success can be used as a platform to inspire and uplift others.

The 2024 MusicCares “Person of the Year” honor is a well-deserved recognition of Jon Bon Jovi’s contributions both as an artist and as a philanthropist. This award, which is presented annually to an individual in the music industry who has demonstrated exceptional humanitarian efforts, will further solidify Bon Jovi’s legacy as someone who has used his fame and fortune to make a difference in the world. It serves as a reminder that true greatness lies not only in artistic achievement but in the impact one has on the lives of others.

As the MusicCares event draws near, fans and peers alike will undoubtedly celebrate not only the music of Jon Bon Jovi but also his enduring commitment to creating positive change. His work continues to inspire millions, proving that even in the world of rock ‘n’ roll, compassion and service to others are just as important as hitting the high notes. Jon Bon Jovi’s legacy will always be marked by his contributions to both music and humanity, making him a true legend in every sense of the word.

Few rock bands have enjoyed the success or longevity that has come to define Bon Jovi since the group dominated the genre with the release of their classic album, “Slippery When Wet,” in 1986. However, like later mainstream rockers like Coldplay and Nickelback, Bon Jovi has the dubious distinction of being one of the world’s most widely disliked bands despite their popularity. Indeed, rock fans decry the “You Give Love a Bad Name” hitmakers as purveyors of commercial bubblegum music. Not that such criticism stopped the New Jersey band from building a loyal fanbase of millions worldwide.

Part of the disdain Bon Jovi attracts is undoubtedly jealousy directed at the group’s founder, Jon Bon Jovi (real name John Bongiovi). Who in their right mind fails to feel even just a twinge of covetousness in the face of Jon Bon Jovi’s millions of fans, commercial dominance, and happy home life? Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider, who once claimed he had an anti-Bon Jovi sticker on his motorcycle helmet, admitted to being jealous of the musician’s success on “The Mistress Carrie Podcast” (per Ultimate Guitar). He said that his wife told him: “You’re just jealous because he’s better-looking than you and more successful,” which Snider had to admit was what underpinned his feelings. He now speaks of Bon Jovi in kinder terms.

    Jann Wenner

    Jann Wenner seated with microphone

One of Bon Jovi’s detractors is Jann Wenner, a noted music journalist and co-founder of Rolling Stone magazine. Wenner was editor back when it had such legendary writers as Hunter S. Thompson and Lester Bangs on its books, and when rock ‘n’ roll was taken as a matter of life and death by both its writers and readers. Unsurprisingly, Wenner is a rock devotee who was instrumental in creating the prestigious Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Wenner’s dislike of Bon Jovi — which is not exactly a controversial stance in rock circles — is well known. In Joe Hagan’s 2017 biography, “Sticky Fingers: The Life and Times of Jann Wenner and Rolling Stone Magazine,” Wenner is quoted as saying about Bon Jovi: “I don’t think he’s that important. What does Bon Jovi mean in the history of music? Nothing.” And things got more personal amid speculation that Wenner, who for many years served on the board of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, was responsible for blocking the band’s induction.

Admission into the Hall is one of the music industry’s highest honors, and Jon Bon Jovi was adamant that he and his band were worthy to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with other rock legends. A feud between the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Bon Jovi developed as a result, with the band only finally being inducted in 2018 toward the end of Wenner’s tenure on the board.

    Nirvana

Just a few years after Bon Jovi’s emergence, rock music began to change dramatically. The early late 1980s and 1990s saw the emergence of the Seattle-based grunge movement, spearheaded by a new wave of bands such as Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains, which changed not only the sound of rock music forever, but also its image. Gone were the outrageous, glam stage outfits and bouffant hair, and in came a more understated look inspired by the skate scene and punk counterculture.

To grunge musicians, the arena rock peddled by bands such as Bon Jovi before the arrival of the new wave was the antithesis of what music should be about. In his “Journals,” Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain describes his own failed musical creations with the previous generation. “The first song on the demo is no longer played,” he wrote. “It is sickening and dumb. Destroy it it is evil. In the likes of Whitesnake and Bon Jovi.”

Similarly, Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl spoke in disparaging terms in a 1993 interview about how Bon Jovi et al. were suddenly ditching the hairspray for a grunger look. “We did a photo shoot with someone for the cover of a magazine, and he was telling us the story of how Bon Jovi came in with a flannel shirt on and said, ‘Make me look like Nirvana,’” Grohl said (per Louder). “If Bon Jovi wants to look like us, you know something is wrong.” To which Cobain responds: “He’s a desperate, untalented piece of s***.”

    Billy Corgan

Billy Corgan pink shirt arm raised

But Kurt Cobain wasn’t the only early ’90s icon to pour scorn on Jon Bon Jovi and his band. Billy Corgan has been at the helm of alt-rockers the Smashing Pumpkins since 1988, and the group grew an enormous following in a few short years thanks to classic albums like 1991’s “Gish,” 1993’s “Siamese Dream,” and 1995’s sprawling double-album “Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.”

Considered the band’s masterpiece and one of the classic American rock albums of the period, “Mellon Collie” has sustained the Smashing Pumpkins’ reputation and maintained the band’s audience into the 21st century, where the Pumpkins have endured a checkered critical and commercial reception for their new music.

Not that Corgan particularly cares for continual acclaim. As he told The Daily Beast: “Somewhere along the way, I decided my interest was in that causal relationship between pushing the button and seeing what happens.”

He goes on to discuss his willingness to alienate his audience for the sake of finding interesting artistic directions. “That’s where the juice of artistic joy is,” he said. “If it was about being formulaic in a Bon Jovi sense, you hire somebody who’s a really smart producer, spend the money. You s*** out that one hit song, and you’re back on top. But we don’t come from that.”

    Donald Trump

Donald Trump Bon Jovi in tuxedos

But perhaps the most high-profile feud Jon Bon Jovi has been involved in was with former president of the United States and reality TV star Donald Trump, who succeeded in turning a whole city against the arena rock star. In 2014, Bon Jovi joined a group of Canadian business people in attempting to buy the New York-based Buffalo Bills NFL team. But they weren’t the only ones looking to take hold of the team.

Donald Trump was another prospective buyer, having long harbored a dream of owning a football team. Trump is known to play dirty in both business and politics, and in the Buffalo Bills saga he played to type.

Shortly after the Bon Jovi-backed buyers entered their bid, rumor spread that they were planning to uproot the team and move it to Canada. In response, Bills fans started a grassroots campaign against Bon Jovi, whose conglomerate lost the bid. Bon Jovi is still widely hated in Buffalo, and he told GQ he will never visit the city again.

It later emerged that the rumors about moving the team had been planted under Trump’s direction through a third party, a move which Bon Jovi later described as “seriously scarring” (per The Guardian). In 2020, Bon Jovi released “Blood In The Water,” which took aim at Trump and his administration, and campaigned for Joe Biden’s presidential bid. In response, Trump criticized Bon Jovi at rallies, once telling his supporters (per Guitar.com): “Jon Bon Jovi, every time I see him he kisses my ass. ‘Oh, oh Mr President.’”

Jay-Z wants a Hip-Hop Hall of Fame, and the chairman of Rock Hall, John Sykes, reacted in an interview with Vulture.

“He told me, ‘Rock is dead. It should be called the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame,’” Sykes revealed. “And I said, ‘Well, hip-hop is rock ‘n’ roll.’ He goes, ‘No, it isn’t.’”

He continued, “And I said, ‘We’ve got to do a better job explaining it. Little Richard, Otis Redding, Chuck Berry — these artists were the cornerstones of rock and roll. If you look at the sounds over the years, those artists ended up influencing hip-hop.’”

Sykes said Jay-Z hesitated but eventually showed up and accepted his induction. He added, “That made me feel like we had done our job to communicate that rock and roll is open to all.”

These comments repeat what Sykes said last month in Jay-Z’s ‘Book of HOV.’ He wrote, “My last words, as I pleaded for Jay to come to Cleveland to accept his award, were that rock n’ roll is not any one sound, rather a gumbo.”

He also shared, “To paraphrase the great Berry Gordy, rock n’ roll created the sound of young America. It’s a spirit, and the spirit of hip-hop and rap connected rock n’ roll with an entirely new generation.”

Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine recently shared similar views about the Rock Hall. He told Guitar World, “One thing that people get wrong is that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should be just for rock and roll bands. That’s not what it’s for.”

The guitarist stated, “Public Enemy is more rock ‘n’ roll than 95 percent of all the hair metal bands that ever picked up an instrument, you know? It’s music that has spirit to it… I think rock ‘n’ roll should have a very, very broad sense. I think there’s room for a lot of different genres.”

Last year, Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, Kool & The Gang, Peter Frampton, Foreigner, Dave Matthews Band, Blige, and A Tribe Called Quest were inducted.

Jon Bon Jovi wrapped up the year with a win following his latest album ‘Forever’s moderate success.

A few weeks ago, Bon Jovi released a new single with rapper Pitbull. The song, ‘Now or Never,’ is credited to both artists. It has become a surprise hit, especially in the U.S., as reported by Forbes.

‘Now or Never’ debuted on the Adult Pop Airplay chart this week. It’s ranked at Number 37 on the list, which tracks popular adult pop songs on the radio. The song may keep climbing.

Pitbull and Bon Jovi have already made ‘Now or Never’ a hit on some of Billboard’s dance and electronic charts. This week, it’s making its debut on pop charts. The song’s success on the radio shows that fans are supporting it, and radio stations are backing it too.

‘Now or Never’ is Bon Jovi’s 17th hit on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. They’ve had three this year. Pitbull also reaches a milestone with this song. ‘Now or Never’ is his 10th hit on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, and his first in almost 10 years.

His last hit was in 2015 with ‘Time of Our Lives.’ The song also appears on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, where it is Number 30 this week. It could move up again as it gets more radio play.

Last month, Forbes also reported that for the first time, Bon Jovi appeared on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart, with ‘Now or Never’ debuting at Number 13. Pitbull mixed Bon Jovi’s ‘It’s My Life’ with his electronic dance and hip-hop style.

While Bon Jovi is new to this chart, Pitbull is not. ‘Now or Never’ is his 29th song on the Billboard list of top dance and electronic tracks. Bon Jovi’s ‘It’s My Life’ was a big hit and is still played at their shows. It helped the band make a comeback in 2000 after a five-year break from the top 40. The song reached Number 33, and it took years before they had another hit like it.

Bon Jovi’s album ‘Forever’ debuted at Number 5 in June but quickly dropped off the Billboard 200. However, the song ‘Living Proof’ reached Number 40 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart.

Jon Bon Jovi, the iconic frontman of the legendary rock band Bon Jovi, has made a name for himself not only in the music world but also as an entrepreneur and philanthropist. With a fortune surpassing $410 million, it is safe to say that Jon Bon Jovi is no stranger to success. Yet, despite his immense wealth and fame, he has chosen to lead a life that is characterized by humility, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to giving back.

One of the most touching examples of Jon Bon Jovi’s generosity is his involvement with his restaurant, the “Soul Kitchen” in Red Bank, New Jersey. Soul Kitchen is a unique restaurant that operates on a pay-what-you-can model, allowing anyone, regardless of their financial situation, to enjoy a hot meal. This initiative was born out of Jon’s desire to support his community and provide an opportunity for those in need to access nutritious food. The mission behind Soul Kitchen is simple: to serve people, both with delicious food and with dignity.

What truly sets Jon Bon Jovi apart is his hands-on approach. While many might assume that someone of his stature would delegate such tasks to others, Bon Jovi can often be found doing something quite unexpected: washing trays and plates at his restaurant. His humble actions speak volumes about his character. Even with a fortune exceeding $400 million, Jon remains deeply connected to the cause he believes in, showing that no task is too small for him when it comes to helping those in need.

The Soul Kitchen is not just a place to get a meal, but a place to feel respected and valued, especially for homeless individuals who are often treated as invisible in society. Through his efforts, Jon Bon Jovi is not only providing nourishment to those who need it most but also reinforcing the importance of kindness and empathy in today’s world.

No Update on Caitlin Clark’s Retirement Plan as Opposition’s $110 Million NWSL Fee Gets the Green Light

No Update on Caitlin Clark’s Retirement Plan as Opposition’s $110 Million NWSL Fee Gets the Green Light

Caitlin Clark’s journey from hardwood hero to business visionary is already unfolding. But like a buzzer-beater stuck on the rim, some plans are still up in the air. While the Denver bid for an NWSL expansion franchise sails through at a record $110 million fee, Clark’s Cincinnati group finds itself at a pivotal crossroads. With dreams as expansive as her three-point range, Clark’s post-basketball plans highlight her ambition to leave a legacy beyond the court.

According to a post on X by Sportico, “BREAKING: Denver has secured the @NWSL’s 16th franchise, according to multiple people familiar with the matter. The $110 expansion million fee is the biggest expansion fee ever paid in U.S. women’s sports.

Denver’s bid, led by IMA Financial Group CEO Robert Cohen, boasts a robust $150 million stadium project and deep-pocketed investors. It’s a tough act to follow for Clark and her Cincinnati team, which relies on the existing TQL Stadium as its main asset. While FC Cincinnati’s group, featuring CC as a key figure, aims to carve out a spot in the league, the Denver bid’s approval shows just how steep the competition has become.

Although she’s just wrapped up her stellar rookie season with the Indiana Fever, Clark is already thinking long-term. Speaking to TIME earlier this year, she shared, “I love basketball, and hopefully, once [playing] basketball ends, I can still find things that I’m really passionate about and can do. I’ll hopefully be an owner of a sports team one day.”

It’s not just talk. Clark’s interest in sports ownership reflects a growing trend among athletes to invest in women’s sports as the market surges. “The price is only going up,” she noted, acknowledging the rising valuations of NWSL teams, with clubs like Angel City FC valued at $250 million.

Her Cincinnati bid is proof she’s not waiting until retirement to dive into the business world. But as Denver locks in its spot with an eye-popping $110 million fee, Clark’s path is anything but a fast break.

A Dream Beyond the Game for Caitlin Clark

Clark’s entrepreneurial spirit extends beyond soccer. On a recent podcast with former Iowa teammates Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall, she shared another dream: owning a restaurant. Laughing, she recalled, “I grew up, and there was always this random open lot, and I always told my mom I was going to open this restaurant called The Rib Shack. Or wait—it was Rib Crib!”

    via Imago

Though a retirement home replaced that childhood dream, Clark hasn’t let go of the idea entirely. “Hopefully, one day, maybe I’ll have a coffee shop or a restaurant, just as a fun thing once I’m done playing,” she said.

The Denver deal sets a new standard for NWSL expansion, with its record-breaking fee and plans for a soccer-specific stadium. The league’s growing value—up 57% from the prior year—signals a promising future. For Clark, it’s both an opportunity and a challenge.

Her Cincinnati bid represents more than a business venture; it’s a step toward redefining women’s sports ownership. As she navigates this arena, her rookie season lessons—resilience, strategy, and confidence—will undoubtedly come into play.

For now, Caitlin Clark’s retirement plan remains a work in progress. But if her current trajectory is any indication, she’ll be just as dominant off the court as she is on it.

Twitter Turns Battleground for Swifties & 49ers Fans as Claire Kittle and Taylor Swift Dragged Into Unnecessary Drama

Twitter Turns Battleground for Swifties & 49ers Fans as Claire Kittle and Taylor Swift Dragged Into Unnecessary Drama

You know what’s wild? 2025 kicked off with a showdown nobody saw coming: Taylor Swift versus Claire Kittle. No, it’s not a real rivalry—but try telling that to the internet. Somehow, the worlds of NFL fandom and pop superstardom collided, and now social media is ablaze with hot takes, comparisons, and the kind of drama that could power its own reality show.

It all started this Wednesday when GamerBabeJess posted on X about Claire rocking a chic black-and-white hoodie, sunglasses, and some killer red boots. She cheekily captioned it, “Taylor Swift can be a billionaire, but she’ll never have Claire Kittle’s vibe.” Cue the chaos. Swifties, 49ers fans, and everyone in between dove into the fray, armed with memes, sass, and opinions no one asked for. But before we unpack the drama, let’s rewind.

While her husband, George Kittle, has been busy crushing it on the field—hitting 1,000 receiving yards for the fourth time in his career—Claire has been holding it down off the field with her humor and fashion.

In a tough season for San Francisco, Claire brought some much-needed levity. She shared a cheeky Instagram post celebrating her husband’s milestone and the team’s modest wins with the caption: “George hit 1k, and Kyle scored a touchdown!! This is our Super Bowl 🤣.” Fans loved it and for good reason

So you see, Claire’s year-end highlights included cheering on her husband during 49ers game days and partying with her friend Kristin Juszczyk. As always, Claire brought her A-game in style.

Here’s where things get messy. As we all know, Taylor has become a semi-regular fixture in the NFL world thanks to her high-profile romance with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Combine that with her superstar status, and she’s practically the face of WAG culture 2.0.

Unpacking the Taylor Swift and 49ers Fans Feud

Once the Claire vs. Taylor narrative hit social media, it spiraled fast. And honestly, we don’t even know why. Once that tweet hit on X, people went wild. Swifties jumped to Taylor’s defense. One fan wrote, “I don’t even know who Claire Kittle is, but there’s no way she can compete with Taylor Swift.” Another chimed in with, “Who is this ‘Claire Kittle’? I’ve known Taylor Swift for over a decade!”

Meanwhile, 49ers fans came out swinging for Claire. “Taylor Swift is a no-bu—having twig that isn’t even cute. Claire Kittle is a freaking GODDESS,” one comment declared. Another added, “Claire Kittle leaves Taylor Swift in a pile of dust when it comes to aura.”

And then there were the voices of reason, trying to calm the chaos. “The NFL posted a video about Kristin Juszczyk and Claire Kittle, and all the dads, Brads, and Chads came to the comments to attack Taylor Swift. Y’all get mad that she’s shown on TV and posted on their socials, but y’all keep bringing her up. It’s pathetic. Also, stop comparing women.” Neither Taylor nor Claire has addressed the comparisons—because why would they? Both women are busy living their best lives.

To be honest, Claire’s hoodie-and-boots look? Iconic. Taylor’s red dress and billion-dollar empire? Equally iconic. Can we let them both coexist? What’s all this chatter about anyway, X people?

“Get on the Field, B**ch”: Jason Kelce’s Wife Kylie and Drew Afualo Respond to Critics of NFL Kickers

“Get on the Field, B**ch”: Jason Kelce’s Wife Kylie and Drew Afualo Respond to Critics of NFL Kickers

I figured out that my spot was behind the camera in school. That was my revelation.” Jason Kelce’s wife, Kylie Kelce, once admitted that she was more invested to be behind the camera after quitting hockey. Hence, keeping that interest alive, the pregnant mom of three has been doing shows or collaborating with her husband for some interesting NFL punches. But this time, Kylie Kelce has a message for the online critics.

During a recent podcast episode of Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, co-host Drew Afualo brought up an interesting point about sports commentary, especially from men. She said, “Not gonna lie, men can’t comment on sports like whether it’s performance or just general commentary, unless I watch you perform the sport for at least an hour. You’re not allowed to comment on it on social media or in real life unless I see footage of you doing the exact same thing.”

Chiming into this, Kylie Kelce too supported the argument. The former hockey player added, “The minute you said that, I was like all of the guys who sh– talk NFL kickers.” No doubt, the NFL kicker’s position has been under heavy scrutiny for years. Comments like “kickers have no place in football,” or that they only have one job to do and that kicking is an easy task, all these suggest how many NFL fans are brutal when it comes to criticizing the kicker’s job.

Hence, that’s the reason why Kylie Kelce brought up the NFL kicker point as well as Afualo adding women’s sports to it. Keeping the discussion further, Afualo said, “Exactly, get on the field b–ch, let’s see it. Anytime they talk about women’s sports, let’s see it. Get out there!” Besides this, Mrs. Kelce was also quick to add rugby critics into this category as well. She said, “I would love to see you play rugby for 30 seconds and just get annihilated.”

Although Kylie Kelce spoke up against the critics of NFL kickers and rugby, the interesting part here to note is her husband himself once criticized the kicker role, and later failed miserably at it!

Jason Kelce just got a taste of his own words, and its pure comedic gold! In October 2024, he confidently criticized NFL kickers on his ‘New Heights’ podcast. He claimed field goals were “too easy” and suggested tougher rugby-style goalposts, by saying, “It’s too easy to kick field goals now. We gotta go to rugby goalposts. Kickers should not be influencing football games as much as they are right now. We need to make kickers way less valuable. That is not what football is about.” Really, Jason?

Well, a month later in November at Penn State’s Pat McAfee Kicking Contest, Kelce himself lined up for a field goal attempt. McAfee announced that with every successful kick, $100,000 donations will be given for hurricane relief. However, when the former Eagles star went for it, he unfortunately missed it. Not once, but twice! That was definitely an oops moment for him.

    via Imago

Seeing this, his wife, Kylie Kelce, didn’t miss a chance to react to it. With her signature-style humor, in a hilarious Instagram comment, she poked fun, asking Jason, “Maybe you should’ve worn tight pants?” Hilarious! The internet loved it too.

Nevertheless, the relief amount was funded to the responsible organization without Jason Kelce’s goal kick.

Chiefs’ Travis Kelce Confirms Struggles as Caitlin Clark & Jason Kelce Reminisce Challenges as a Rookie

Breaking into the world of pro sports might look like living the dream but behind the highlights and contracts. It’s a whole lot of hustle and struggle. Just ask NFL star Travis Kelce, WNBA phenom Caitlin Clark, and veteran Eagle Jason Kelce. All three have been therefeeling like a fish out of water in the rookie phase. Trying to make an impact while the weight of expectations hung heavy. In a candid conversation, they opened up about the bumps and bruises. That comes with finding their way to the top. And trust me, their stories will make you realize that even the biggest stars had to earn their place in the spotlight.

For Travis, stepping into the NFL was a massive adjustment. The transition from being a team leader at Cincinnati to finding his place in Kansas City wasn’t easy. “I struggled trying to find my lane,” Travis admitted. “I was such a leader at Cincinnati… but when I got to Kansas City, there were guys who were perennial Pro Bowlers.” He credited Coach Andy Reid for helping him navigate the new culture. Though it took time to feel like he truly belonged. The pressure of performing in a team filled with established stars made it clear that professionalism was more than just talent—it was about finding your role.

Jason’s story was no less challenging. His rookie year came during an NFL lockout, which meant no offseason workouts and a late introduction to the playbook—just two days before training camp. “We just started right from there,” Jason recalled. He leaned heavily on veteran players, despite the competitive dynamics. “Some vets were incredible… you lean so much as a young player on your vets,” he explained. For Jason, the support from legendary Eagles players like Harold Carmichael made all the difference as he learned to navigate the chaos.

Caitlin, meanwhile, faced her own hurdles in the WNBA. As a rookie, she struggled to balance expectations and her voice within a young team. “You’re trying to figure out a new environment, new teammates… you don’t want to say too much, you don’t want to say too little,” Caitlin shared. Yet, with the help of her veteran teammates, she found her footing. “I had a lot of really good vets around me… they knew how I felt,” she added, highlighting the importance of mentorship in her early career.

From Travis Kelce‘s fight for a role to Jason’s whirlwind debut and Caitlin’s balancing act, their stories remind us that even the brightest stars face storms before they shine. During the podcast, we also got a little insight into Clark’s favorite Chiefs player. What are your guesses??

Who is Caitlin Clark’s favorite Chiefs player?

On the “New Heights” podcast, Caitlin Clark made Travis Kelce’s day when she revealed that he’s her fave player on the Chiefs. Travis was all smiles and hyped, saying, “I appreciate that! That means a lot coming from you.” Caitlin wasn’t just throwing compliments, thoughshe also gave props to Patrick Mahomes for holding it down as the QB. It was clear this was more than just a casual shout-out; she genuinely respects what the Chiefs are doing.

Caitlin’s been a Chiefs fan since she was a kid, so her love for the team is real. “My family and I used to go to games all the time, and I’ve got some solid memories from those,” she said. She even mentioned an epic Christmas Eve game that’s stuck with her over the years. No wonder she’s been backing Travis and the squadit’s in her blood. “Watching him ball out like this, it’s just unreal,” Caitlin added, clearly fangirling a little.

Things got even more exciting when Caitlin dropped the tea about meeting Travis Kelce and his girl, Taylor Swift, at one of Tay’s concerts. She said, “Maybe we’ll hit up a game together soon,” hinting at some serious squad goals. You can totally see the vibe-shifting, with Caitlin and Travis forming their own little sports fam.

Andy Reid’s 6-Word Warning to Travis Kelce After Draft as Jason Kelce’s ‘Train Wreck’ Moment Comes to Light

Kansas City’s riding high these days… playoff ticket in hand and eyes locked on a 3-peat. But while the team grinds away in postseason prep, Travis Kelce has found time to chill. On the latest New Heights podcast, he and his brother Jason Kelce brought on Caitlin Clark to chat. And boy, it wasn’t any chat, but it was the Kelce brothers revisiting their draft day as Trav recalled the infamous call with Andy Reid.

Well, just like their other EPs, they asked Clark about her draft day experience before the Fever swept with No. 1 pick. But what they did not expect was the reverse question. Yet, there it was. And when Travis began, there was a little humorous undertone to it… Picture this: a young Travis Kelce gets a call from a Missouri number, clueless that Kansas City is even in Missouri. “I thought I was going to St. Louis,” he admitted on the podcast.

Then came Reid’s memorable welcome: “YOU BETTER NOT MESS THIS UP!” Harsh? Maybe. Effective? Oh, absolutely. It wasn’t the first time Kelce shared this gem, either. Back in 2017, he revealed Reid’s real question: “Are you going to f-ck this up?” Not exactly a warm-and-fuzzy Hallmark moment, huh?

Fast forward to today, and no one’s questioning Reid’s faith in his #87. The man’s stats speak louder than words: 12 seasons for KC, 1,004 catches, over 12,000 yards, 80 touchdowns, and nine Pro Bowl nods. Oh, and let’s not forget those three rings. He’s not just in the conversation for best tight end ever—he’s practically running the panel. Nate Burleson nailed it, calling Kelce “a matchup nightmare” and “the best tight end in football.”

Kelce’s dominance isn’t just in numbers; it’s in how he’s redefined the tight-end role. And when he broke Tony Gonzalez’s touchdown record? Pure class. Trav’s tribute dunk over the crossbar was a reminder, not a nod, that Tony passed the torch in safe hands.

Let’s be real—centers are tough. Like, built-for-the-trenches tough. But when you’re fresh out of college waiting for that NFL call? Yeah, nerves hit differently. Jason Kelce was no exception. On the latest New Heights podcast, Travis didn’t hold back, joking, “Jason was a train wreck, are you kidding me?! The guy was pacing back and forth in the room.” Relatable, right?

Jason’s draft story, though? Pure chaos. “Day one, I knew I wasn’t getting drafted, so it was cool watching,” he said. By day two, his agent’s faint optimism kept things interesting, but by day three, frustration set in. So, what did the Kelces do? Go bowling. “We finished bowling, and I still hadn’t gotten a call,” Jason shared. It wasn’t until the sixth round, back at home, that the phone finally buzzed.

Philly was calling at pick No. 191, and Jason’s dad? Tears flowing. “It’s nerve-racking until the moment you’re picked, and then you forget about all the crap.” The Eagles snagged Jason just in time because the Chiefs—yes, Kansas City—had their sights on him, too, holding pick No. 199.

Imagine if KC had drafted him. The Kelce brothers could’ve been teammates, snapping and catching passes together. But fate had other plans, and two years later, Travis joined the Chiefs while Jason became the heart of Philly’s O-line.

For Jason, that call was life-changing. “It’s the greatest moment of my life… outside of my kids being born,” he said. More than a decade later, he’s a Philadelphia legend. And sure, we’ll never know how the NFL would look if the Kelce brothers had played together, but hey, it’s a fun “what if” to dream about.
