After hitting the high notes together for three decades, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora’s musical partnership came to an abrupt end in 2013, when Sambora, the lead guitarist, co-songwriter and founding member of Bon Jovi, quit the band without warning in the middle of their Because We Can world tour ahead of a sold-out show.

With months left to go on the tour and dozens of concerts scheduled, the band was left scrambling to find a replacement. More than that, they were left reeling from Sambora’s unexpected departure.

“There was no fight or money issues, like the reports say,” Bon Jovi told PEOPLE in 2016. “Nobody expected Richie to quit in the middle of the night for no reason. He wasn’t fired; he just didn’t come to work.”

Ultimately, the band soldiered on, completing the tour with new lead guitarist Phil X. And Bon Jovi has seemingly remained friendly with Sambora, telling PEOPLE recently that the two watched several episodes of Hulu’s new docuseries Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story together. “There’s never animosity,” the 62-year-old rocker said.

In that spirit, we’re looking back at the good times with these photos that showcase how Sambora and Bon Jovi’s friendship was the bedrock of their band’s success.

The 26-year-old daughter of Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Tyler Farrar in a celebratory joint post shared on Instagram Saturday.

“Hard launch!!” the duo wrote alongside sweet moments captured as Farrar got down on one knee and proposed to Ava.

In a first image, Farrar presented Ava with an engagement ring as they stood surrounded by lit candles in front of an arch of white roses by the sea at sunset.

Ava showed off her diamond sparkler as the newly engaged pair embraced in following shots.

Proud mother Locklear, 62, wrote in the comments section, “My two favorite people💗.” Her comment came about after she celebrated Ava’s 26th birthday in October.

At the time, the actress shared photos of herself with Ava as a child. She wrote in her caption, “Happy Birthday to my favorite person on earth! You are stronger, smarter, and more beautiful than you can ever imagine. I’m so glad God trusted me to be your mama ♥️💗💘💕.”

“My whole heart!!! I love you beyond words. Thank you for being my mama 🥹🥳💘🤍,” Ava replied.

The mother-daughter duo share a close relationship. Ava previously supported her mother through her battle with substance abuse, which Locklear entered rehab for in 2019.

In turn, Locklear also supported Ava during her battle with anxiety, which the model and actress opened up to PEOPLE about in companion essays with Locklear in October 2020.

“Anytime of the day, she would stop what she was doing and come to comfort me,” Ava said at the time of her mother. “She did everything she could to help me get through those difficult months, from taking me to every doctor’s appointment to giving me tons of books on managing anxiety.”

“Dealing with anxiety can be tough when you feel like people don’t understand you,” she continued. “My mom always made me feel heard. She never judged me and made sure I didn’t feel alone.”

Ava is also close with dad Richie, 64. The Bon Jovi guitarist told PEOPLE in November, “Ava is killing it.”

“She’s basically practicing psychology,” the rocker dad added, sharing that Ava recently got her master’s degree and is “getting ready to go for a doctorate.”

Sambora also told PEOPLE he was so happy about Ava’s schooling that he surprised her with a retriever puppy.

Ava recently graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, she celebrated the milestone at home as her in-person commencement ceremony had been postponed in guidance with social distancing protocol.

Earlier in May, Locklear shared a picture of her daughter’s graduation portrait to commemorate the event, writing on her Instagram, “Congratulations baby girl! We are so proud.”

The proud mom also posted another photo of Ava posing in her graduation cap ahead of the virtual commencement ceremony.

“Tomorrow is the big LMU graduation at home for my baby. Tune in for more tomorrow 🎓❤️,” she wrote.

Ava has been social distancing at home with Locklear amid the coronavirus crisis and continues to be a pillar of support for her mother, who recently celebrated one year of sobriety.

Through her ups and downs, Locklear has remained very close with her daughter.

“Richie and Ava are giving her a lot of support,” Locklear’s friend told PEOPLE last month.

“She is gardening, taking walks and cooking like a fiend. She cooks for herself, Ava and her parents. It’s very sweet. Her dad is close to 91, and her mom is in her 80s, and she delivers food to them often,” said her friend.

Besides her family, Locklear has also been leaning on her tight group of girlfriends.

“It’s really amazing to see how she managed to turn things around,” said a source, who added, “Heather is always happiest when she is with her daughter.”

  • Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley: Rocking Compassion by Feeding the Homeless

Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley: Rocking Compassion by Feeding the Homeless

Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley: Rocking Compassion by Feeding the Homeless

Jon Bon Jovi, a rock icon known for his powerful ballads and sold-out arenas, has proven time and time again that his heart is as big as his talent. Together with his wife, Dorothea Hurley, the couple has been quietly making an extraordinary impact offstage: cooking and feeding homeless individuals through their philanthropic initiatives.

Their commitment to giving back goes beyond simple acts of charity—it’s a lifestyle rooted in empathy and action. In a world where celebrity news often revolves around glamour and drama, Jon and Dorothea stand out by using their platform to address pressing social issues like homelessness and food insecurity.

JBJ Soul Kitchen: A Place of Hope

At the heart of their efforts lies the JBJ Soul Kitchen, a community restaurant concept founded by the couple in 2011. Located in Red Bank and Toms River, New Jersey, these restaurants operate under the principle of “pay what you can.” Guests who are able to pay are encouraged to donate a minimum of $20 to cover the cost of their meal, while those in need can enjoy a warm, nutritious meal for free by volunteering at the restaurant.

The menu, designed with dignity and health in mind, offers three-course meals featuring farm-to-table ingredients. There are no prices listed; instead, the emphasis is on fostering a sense of community and equality. According to Dorothea, the mission is simple yet profound: “We want people to feel welcome and respected, regardless of their circumstances.”

Jon himself is frequently spotted at the Soul Kitchen, donning an apron and serving meals. For him, it’s not just about financial donations but about hands-on involvement. “When you see the faces of those you’re helping, it makes everything worth it,” Jon once said in an interview.

    Cooking With Compassion

Jon and Dorothea’s involvement doesn’t stop at organizational management. The couple often rolls up their sleeves and joins the kitchen staff, chopping vegetables, stirring pots, and plating meals. Their hands-on approach sends a powerful message: no one is too important to serve others.

“Cooking is one of the simplest ways to show love,” Dorothea shared in an interview. “When you provide someone with a meal, you’re giving them more than food—you’re giving them hope.”

Jon, despite his packed schedule as a musician and businessman, makes time to connect with patrons. Whether it’s chatting with a family who’s fallen on hard times or laughing with volunteers, his genuine warmth leaves a lasting impression.

    More Than a Meal

The JBJ Soul Kitchen is more than a restaurant—it’s a lifeline. By collaborating with local organizations, the initiative provides support services such as job training, housing assistance, and counseling to help individuals get back on their feet.

The pandemic brought unprecedented challenges, with many people facing financial hardships and food insecurity. The Soul Kitchen adapted by offering takeout meals and expanding its reach. During this time, Jon and Dorothea worked tirelessly to ensure no one went hungry.

Their efforts have touched countless lives, with many patrons expressing gratitude not only for the food but for the dignity and respect they receive. For Jon and Dorothea, these stories of resilience and recovery are the true rewards of their work.

    A Legacy of Giving

Jon Bon Jovi’s philanthropic journey isn’t new. Over the years, he has supported numerous causes, from disaster relief to affordable housing. His Soul Foundation, launched in 2006, has built hundreds of homes for low-income families. Dorothea, a former karate instructor and philanthropist in her own right, has been instrumental in shaping their shared vision of giving back.

Their work serves as a reminder that celebrities can use their fame for good. In an industry often criticized for excess and detachment, Jon and Dorothea exemplify humility and compassion.

    Inspiring Others to Act

The story of Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley is not just about feeding the homeless—it’s about inspiring others to look beyond themselves. Whether it’s by volunteering, donating, or simply treating others with kindness, their actions remind us that we all have the power to make a difference.

As Jon once said, “We can’t change the world overnight, but we can make a start by helping one person at a time.” With their unrelenting dedication, Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Hurley are doing just that—one meal, one smile, and one act of love at a time.

Bruce Springsteen, 74, gives alarming health update after postponing tour – and it confirms what we feared

Bruce Springsteen has had a rough time of it over the past few months, with his health issues forcing him to postpone all remaining concerts for 2023.

Springsteen & The E Street Band put out a statement last month announcing the year’s remaining concerts would be postponed until 2024 due to Springsteen’s recent health diagnosis with peptic ulcer disease.

“Bruce Springsteen has continued to recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment through the rest of the year on doctor’s advice,” the statement read.

“With this in mind, and out of an abundance of caution, all remaining 2023 tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be postponed until 2024.

Now, the 74-year-old has finally opened up about the challenging health condition that compelled him to step back from performing and reschedule his remaining 2023 concert dates.

“Greetings, greetings, greetings, from your favorite rock star with a b***h of a bellyache,” Springsteen shared during his SiriusXM E Street Radio show, ‘From My Home to Yours‘.

In September, Springsteen began receiving treatment for peptic ulcer disease, commonly referred to as a burning stomach pain. The Mayo Clinic defines peptic ulcers as “open sores that develop on the inside lining of your stomach and the upper portion of your small intestine.”

Though the episode wasn’t primarily focused on his health, Springsteen did take a moment to express his gratitude to his fans and their unwavering support.

“Let me take a moment and thank my fans affected by our postponed shows for their understanding,” he said. “I am deeply sorry, but this belly thing, despite my ability to laugh at it, has been a monster and is still, unfortunately, rocking my internal world.”

Troubles began for the musician in August when he abruptly canceled two of his concerts in Philadelphia. At that time, his team refrained from disclosing the nature of Springsteen’s ailment, stating only that the shows would be rescheduled. All September shows would eventually be postponed as well.

On September 27, Springsteen made it known that he would not be performing for the remainder of the year.

The ‘Born in the U.S.A‘ singer said at the time: “Thanks to all my friends and fans for your good wishes, encouragement, and support. I’m on the mend and can’t wait to see you all next year.”

Richie Sambora Opens Up About Controversial Decision to Leave Bon Jovi: ‘My Daughter Needed Me Around’

“Family had to come first — and that’s what happened,” says the former Bon Jovi guitarist

Richie Sambora is opening up about his controversial decision to leave the iconic rock band, Bon Jovi, in 2013 — and he says he has “no regrets” about ultimately putting his relationship with his daughter Ava, now 23, ahead of everything else.

“It wasn’t a popular decision by any means, obviously, but there was really almost no choice about it. I had a lot of conscious work to do around [my personal life],” the rocker, 61, says now via Zoom from his home in Calabasas, California.

“We’ve been through a lot of things together. That was a time of psychological maintenance for the family,” he says in the new issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands now. “You know, I ain’t no angel. But I realized, Ava needed me to be around at that point in time. Family had to come first, and that’s what happened.”

    Richie Sambora

Richie and Ava Sambora. Shayan Asgharnia

Sambora, who overcame an addiction to painkillers and an over-reliance on alcohol after stints in rehab in 2007 and 2011, says the rock and roll lifestyle eventually took its toll.

“My lord, when I look back and start to list the tours … 18-and-a-half months of being on the road, 52 countries,” he says. “It’s like, Wow. It was really time for a break. We did that 14 times over a 31-year period.”

While touring with Bon Jovi, Sambora would routinely fly home for quick visits rather than stay on location. “I love being a dad more than anything,” Sambora says of his bond with Ava, whose mother is the legendary TV actress Heather Locklear, 59. “Luckily I was making enough money to be able to have a private plane, get my ass home and see my kid even if it was only for one day. If it was Halloween, it was boom, home.”

Looking back, Ava says those gestures meant everything to her. “He showed up to every dance recital I performed in and all of my school functions no matter how far he had to travel,” she tells PEOPLE. “He even flew all the way from Australia to surprise me at my father-daughter dance.”

    Richie sambora

Once he was able to settle into a normal life in California, Sambora says, his bond with Ava deepened.

“I’m lucky enough to have an amazing relationship with my daughter,” says Sambora, who enjoyed overseeing get-togethers in the backyard so he could “keep an eye” on who her friends were. Driving his daughter to and from high school every morning was when they really bonded.

“That’s where the conversation went down. She was captive in my car for those 30 minutes. She couldn’t get out,” he says with a laugh as he recalls chats with his “smart and fun” girl. “You can find out what you needed to find out and see how she’s feeling and all that kind of stuff. We’ve always had a very open, conversational relationship. I just said, ‘Hey, you can tell me anything. I’m going to be on your side.’”

    Richie sambora

“I brought a child into this world,” he says, “and I do not take it lightly.”

These days, they’ve been mostly staying close to home. After graduating from Loyola Marymount in May, Ava is preparing for graduate school.

“I’m very, very proud of her and the way she turned out,” says Sambora. “She’s an amazing young woman with a bright future. She’s just dedicated to being a good person. And she is.”

“Y’all Hate Women”: Millie Bobby Brown Sparked Fiery Reactions After Responding To Haters

Millie Bobby Brown, best known for her role as Eleven in Stranger Things, reminded her followers on social media that “women grow” while expressing no apologies for her appearance. The actress responded to criticism after sharing a mirror selfie, with some commenters accusing her of looking older than her age and speculating about possible plastic surgery.

Taking to her Instagram page on Wednesday (January 1), Millie marked the New Year by sharing a post on her story, seemingly calling out backlash she had recently experienced.

In the story, which has since been deleted, the 20-year-old wrote: “Women grow!! Not sorry about it :)”

Millie’s post drew divided reactions, as an X (formerly known as Twitter) user commented: “People literally age… and moreover she aged like fine wine idk what keep complaining about.”

A person wrote: “She had a fixation to look like a wealthy 40-year-old divorcee since she was like 16.”

Someone else penned: “Women do grow but sis look 20+ years her actual age.”

“As long as she still plays Eleven in Stranger Things then we’re good,” a netizen added.

A commentator shared: “I find it very creepy and annoying asl that men want her to be stuck at 16.”

An observer noted: “She pretty much immediately started looking like a 40-year-old Real Housewife.”

A separate individual chimed in: “Not surprised she’s annoyed. She’s not a little girl anymore and people should finally stop treating her this way.”

She expressed no apologies for her appearance

The starlet’s blunt statement follows negative feedback she received after posting a selfie that prompted speculations of plastic surgery.

Earlier this month, the Emmy Awards-nominated talent shared a mirror selfie on Instagram, wearing a white and burgundy dress.

A Louis Vuitton Speedy bag was hanging on her arm with its colorful print from the Murakami collection clearly visible, Bored Panda previously reported.

Moreover, Millie flashed a pout and flaunted a big diamond ring to fans. “Me and my mini,” she wrote in the caption. “@louisvuitton #lvxmurakami.”

The selfie ignited a whirlwind of both praise and criticism, with fans calling her “pretty,” “gorgeous” and “too cute.”

“YOU ARE INSANELY BEAUTIFUL MILLS,” read one compliment while another said, “you are so beautiful.”

    “Too wonderful, wow,” said another.

The actress responded to criticism after sharing a mirror selfie

Others questioned her appearance and asked, “U look 35 what happened??”

This wasn’t the first time Millie has been confronted with age-shaming comments. Back in October, her wedding photos sparked both admiration and concern.

While many viewers swooned over the dreamy images of Millie and her husband Jake Bongiovi, others questioned the couple’s age, with the actress and the model being 20 and 22 years old respectively, Bored Panda previously reported.

“She’s just a kid! What’s the rush? This feels like a disaster waiting to happen,” a person wrote on social media, while others shared their predictions on how long the marriage will last.

The pictures showed Millie donning a stunning white corset gown with a long train veil. Jake complemented her with an equally white tuxedo and a black bowtie for a classic look.

“I give it two years, tops,” one fan said. “This won’t last long.”

Some commenters accused her of looking older than her age and speculating about possible plastic surgery

Millie began a relationship with Jake in 2021. Born Jacob, the New Jersey native is a model and actor. However, he is best known for being the son of musician Jon Bon Jovi.

In April 2023, the Enola Holmes star announced their engagement, and on May 27, People magazine reported that the couple had married in a private ceremony the previous weekend.

Millie has previously opened up about the beginning of her relationship with Jake. She told Wired in 2022: “We met on Instagram, and we were friends for a bit, and then, what can I say?”

She further opened up about the moment she knew Jake was “the one” for her, telling The Sunday Times in 2023: “After we met, we knew we never wanted to leave each other’s side.

“You can’t pinpoint why [someone is ‘the one’], it’s just the feeling of knowing that that’s the person you want to spend the rest of your time with.”

She continued: “I think so much of life is overthinking. The one thing that made clear sense to me was him. So I didn’t really have to do much thinking.”

In the first clip, the couple — who first sparked romance rumors in June 2021 — can be seen smiling and laughing as they held hands underneath a white floral arch at their second wedding celebration at Villa Cetinale in Italy. Brown wore a custom lace Galia Lahav gown, while Bongiovi sported an ivory suit from Banana Republic.

The actress actually wore four stunning dresses for her Italian wedding. In another clip, she appears to be at a dress fitting for her corset-style bridal gown. This dress, which she wore ahead of the reception, features a ribbon accent, a high neckline, cap sleeves and a tiered lace skirt.

While lying on her back on the floor, she wore another sparkling bridal outfit in a clip of herself laughing and shimmying. She danced again in two other clips, this time with Bongiovi joining her.

In other clips, the pair released two white doves, watched fireworks together, enjoyed a piggyback ride and kissed at a romantic nighttime dinner.

Some of Brown’s pets, family and friends, such as her The Electric State costar Chris Pratt, also made it into her 2024 recap post. She also celebrated herself by including a clip of herself smashing her 20th birthday cake.

In late November, a source close to Brown and Bongiovi told PEOPLE that the couple had been “enjoying a magical year” as husband and wife and couldn’t wait to mark their first holiday season as newlyweds.

“Millie is very happy with Jake. She loves celebrating Thanksgiving with Jake and his family,” the insider said. “She raves about his mom’s cooking. Their family gatherings are always very special and welcoming.”

“She always starts decorating early. She’s embracing it all even more now as [a] married [woman],” added the source, noting that Christmas is Brown’s “absolute favorite holiday.”

Michael Douglas’ ex-wife Diandra received $45 million from the divorce – this is how she lives today

Michael Douglas is now happily married to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones but before this marriage, he was married to Diandra Luker. He was with Luker for almost two decades before they called it quits.

His divorce cost him quite a lot of money. Keep reading to know more.

Michael Douglas and his ex-wife Diandra Luker were together for 18 years before they decided to separate. Their divorce became Hollywood’s most expensive as Michael was ordered to pay his ex-wife $45 million.

Hollywood star Michael Douglas, 79, is known for his roles in iconic films such as “Fatal Attraction” and “Wall Street.” He has cemented his place as one of Hollywood’s most celebrated actors.

He has also been awarded two Oscars, one for “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and the other for his role in “Wall Street.”

Today, he is married to another fellow Oscar-winning actor – Catherine Zeta-Jones, 59. He and Zeta-Jones have two children, Dylan Douglas, 23, and Carys Zeta Douglas, 21.

But his marriage to Catherine is not Douglas’s first. He was previously married – a union that cost him dearly.

Michael Douglas had recently achieved great success with the film “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” when he and Diandra Luker, 68, said ‘I do’ to each other in 1977. And a year later, they welcomed their son Cameron Douglas.

Michael reportedly had to pay his ex-wife a whole 45 million dollars, when they divorced years later in the year 2000.

In addition to that, she also got their shared residence in Santa Barbara, California. However, Diandra was not finished there. In 2011, she was back in court to demand more money.

This time, Diandra claimed that she had stood by her husband’s side when he made the film Wall Street and, therefore, demanded that she should get half of the income that he would earn from the sequel to the first film. But her legal process would have significant consequences as Michael Douglas had been diagnosed with cancer just two months earlier. Diandra was then accused of demanding money from a sick man.

After all the hate she had to endure, she finally decided to speak out about the situation.

“Michael didn’t know he was ill, I didn’t know he was ill, and the gods didn’t know he was ill,” she said. She went on, “I am not into going after sick people for things that don’t belong to me.”

Diandra lost the case and thus received no new money from her ex-husband.

Diandra does not seem to have any financial worries, having lived a life of luxury in Mallorca until 2019.

S’Estaca,” the villa she previously shared with her ex-husband Michael Douglas, is located in a beautiful area overlooking the cliffs of Sa Foradada and the sea. The house has 10 bedrooms, a loft, two cottages, terraces, a pool, a wine cellar, and private access to the sea on a large plot of 100 hectares, according to reports.

In 2019, Douglas bought out Diandra’s share of the villa, and since then, she seems to have moved to Ibiza, where she now spends much time and shares many pictures from the place on her social media.

With her in Ibiza are the twins Hudson and Hawk, 20 years old, whom she had via a surrogate with ex Zach Hampton Bacon III, as well as daughter Imara de Morrell Douglas, born in 2005, whom Diandra adopted from Russia.

According to the New York Post, Diandra also sold an apartment in New York for an astonishing 17 million dollars in 2022.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was selected as the team’s nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.

The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award is the league’s most prestigious honor. It recognizes players who excel on the field and demonstrate a steadfast commitment to creating a positive impact off the field.

On Sunday, the NFL posted the fan vote and the leaderboard of the players leading so far for the award.

As many would expect, Travis Kelce was atop the leaderboard, with Mike Evans, Dion Dawkins, Brandon Graham, and Bobby Wagner following behind him.

Many fans took to the comment section and blamed Taylor Swift fans for voting so much just to get Travis Kelce this award just because of who he is dating.

“Realistically, does anyone stand a chance against the Swifties?” one fan said.

“why is Travis before Mike Evans?” another fan asked.

“Why they let Swifters vote? Its not “Era’s tour man of the Year” or “Taylor Swift Man of the Year” another fan asked.

Another irate fan said: “As if his girlfriends influnce has nothing to do with it yall funny with these fake accomplishments.”

“Kelce and Swift. Worse 2 words in the history of language. 🤮” one final fan said.

Travis Kelce Will Not Play In Week 18

The Kansas City Chiefs have performed exceptionally well this year, leading to them securing home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Fans might need to adjust their expectations as head coach Andy Reid has made it clear that Travis Kelce and other key players will be sitting out for their final regular season game.
