“Sick of Both Kelces”: Disaster for ESPN as Calls Mount Against Jason Kelce After Show Tanked on Debut

“Sick of Both Kelces”: Disaster for ESPN as Calls Mount Against Jason Kelce After Show Tanked on Debut

Who knew Philly grit wouldn’t translate to late-night TV? Jason Kelce‘s new show, They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce, premiered on January 4, 2025. With big Philly vibes and even bigger expectations. Filmed at Union Transfer in Philadelphia, the show brought in SNACKTIME as the house band and leaned heavily into Kelce’s charm. But despite all the hype, the ratings for the debut weren’t exactly what ESPN was hoping for.

The first episode had a packed lineup with NBA legend Charles Barkley, comedian/rapper Lil Dicky, and NFL analyst Brian Baldinger sharing the stage. Kelce’s wife, Kylie, even made an appearance with her segment, “Kylie’s Corner,” adding a personal touch. Between the interviews, an NFL playoff discussion, and a skit with Jimmy Kimmel, the show tried to balance sports talk with humor. Of course, Kelce being Kelce, he ended the night by chugging an entire beer—classic.

Even with the fun moments, the episode struggled to find its rhythm. The pacing felt off, and some of the segments didn’t quite land with the audience. While the concept had potential, it didn’t translate as smoothly as Jason Kelce’s podcast.

For now, ESPN and Kelce have some work to do to make the show click. With more episodes on the way, they will need to figure out how to fine-tune the mix of sports, comedy, and the Philly flavor to keep viewers coming back. While we wait for that to happen, let’s see what fans had to say about this mixed debut.

Jason Kelce’s debut on late-night TV was supposed to be a big moment, but fans weren’t exactly feeling it. “This first show is certainly going to be pretty Philly, but it will eventually evolve into a show that feels more national. But I always want the Philly roots be felt and heard. So that was an important thing for us,” Kelce said ahead of the premiere. However, his vision didn’t seem to connect with many. One user commented “Sick of both Kelces”. Signaling that the hype around both Jason and his brother, Travis, might be wearing thin. But, this was just the start of the ultimate mayhem against the former NFL player’s show.

The push to promote Jason Kelce was met with plenty of frustration, as one user commented on ESPN’s strategy. “Why are they so desperately trying to promote this guy?“. Others felt that Kelce would be better off sticking with his podcast. Where his more relaxed and authentic personality could shine through without the constraints of a primetime TV show.

The late-night time slot also sparked confusion, with one commenting, “Who is getting up at 1 AM ET to watch Jason Kelce’s show about… who knows what?” The show’s timing, particularly for East Coast viewers, raised some eyebrows. Even for West Coast audiences, airing at 10 PM PST didn’t seem to make a difference. With viewers noting that “not many people tuned in.”

Although some viewers acknowledged Jason Kelce’s charm, there was a sense that ESPN might be overdoing it with his media presence. “I like Jason, but ESPN is really overdoing it with him,”. It seemed clear that while Kelce is a likable figure, his late-night show might not be the right fit for him, leaving fans longing for something that better matched his personality.

The harshest criticism came from those who believed the hype around Kelce wouldn’t last long. Especially as the Kansas City Chiefs’ run has ended with the Broncos winning. “His 15 minutes need to end in about 2,” was the opinion of a user who felt his moment in the spotlight was fleeting. In the end, one clear message from The Paulie and Tony Fusco Show’s X handle stood out: “There’s only one show that would DOMINATE that time slot, bro.” Whether the winners of the 2024 Best Sports Comedy podcast were hinting at themselves or any other show remains unknown. But it’s clear, no one is looking at Jason Kelce with big heart eyes at the moment!

The overwhelming takeaway was that Jason Kelce’s debut late-night gig might not be the show to fill that prime real quick, and fans are already eager to see how ESPN will adjust or if the show will find its footing.

  • Why People Love Taylor Swift. From a Non-Swiftie

Why People Love Taylor Swift. From a Non-Swiftie

Why People Love Taylor Swift. From a Non-Swiftie

    By Precious Oladimeji

I was scrolling through Facebook the other day and came across a long post where the creator ranted on and on and on about how they simply couldn’t understand why there are so many people who are obsessively in love with Taylor Swift.

And so, here is my unsolicited reply to their question.

Photo by Omid Armin on Unsplash

In order to provide this unsolicited response of mine, I downloaded a couple of Taylor Swift’s songs and did some research too.

And after all that, I present to you the result of my findings:

    1. She is an awesome storyteller

Taylor Swift wields the magic wand of storytelling like it’s nobody’s business. The way she writes her songs, it’s like she’s telling you a story, so you hang onto her every word wanting to know what happened next. Plus, it helps a great deal that her stories are drawn from her real-life experiences and relationships, so her listeners know she’s not just making things up; she is telling these stories because she’s experienced them, which leads to my next point.

    2. She is relatable

The way Taylor Swift sings, combined with the lyrics of her songs, makes you feel like you are listening to a girlfriend tell you her boy troubles. She shares her vulnerability, what she’s going through, how she’s feeling, her heartbreaks with the listener, like you are just fast friend who has known her all her life.

Sometimes, her lyrics hit so close to home that you feel like she knew exactly what is going on in your relationship.

Obviously, she doesn’t. She simply has a way of making people feel like they are sharing in her experience, and she, theirs.

    3. She is nice

From my research, I found that Taylor Swift ranks very high on the list of top stars who treat their fans the best. Could you imagine a world-famous star inviting fans to their home to listen to their songs? Taylor does that and more. She treats her fans like family, so they feel like they are. And we all know what that resulted in.

    An army of loyal Swifties.

So, the next time you wonder why Taylor Swift is so loved, you can come back to this post just to remind you why.

PS: I’m going to try being Taylor Swift (Sharing my personal life, being relatable, and being nice (Don’t give me that look. I’m nice, but I’ll even be nicer😉) for a month on one of my social media platforms, and by the end of February, I will let you guys know my results.

    Wish me luck 😊

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has been accused of being a serial cheater who makes women sign non-disclosure agreements before getting involved with them.

James has kept a squeaky-clean reputation since he was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003. But, every now and then, someone comes out with claims of infidelity.

The latest such accuser happens to be podcaster Sofia Franklyn, who has asserted that LeBron, as well as actor Leonardo DiCaprio, get their associates to make contact with women, who are then asked to sign NDAs once they agree to hook up.

Check her out in the video below:

LeBron James Is Keeping His Hands Clean

As mentioned above, this is nothing new for LeBron James. Many fingers have been pointed over the years; still, no one has offered any proof.

Until such a time, LBJ will be regarded as an exemplary athlete who has managed to navigate the money and fame without a single blemish on his reputation.

Of course, he has recently faced some criticism due to his friendship with Diddy, but his hands remain clean, as far as we know.

  • Patrick Mahomes not selected to Pro Bowl, Was he snubbed from the roster?

Patrick Mahomes not selected to Pro Bowl, Was he snubbed from the roster?

Patrick Mahomes Snubbed from Pro Bowl: Outrage, Analysis, and Implications

The NFL world is buzzing with shock and disbelief as Patrick Mahomes, widely regarded as one of the best quarterbacks of all time, has been left off the Pro Bowl roster for the first time since becoming a starter. While five Kansas City Chiefs players—including three offensive linemen, Chris Jones, and Travis Kelce—received Pro Bowl nods, Mahomes’ absence has sparked widespread debate. Despite leading the Chiefs to a league-best 15-1 record, Mahomes’ individual statistics didn’t meet the expectations set by past years, and that seems to have cost him a spot.

    The Numbers Behind the Snub

The quarterbacks selected to represent the AFC—Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow—boast impressive stats. Mahomes, on the other hand, ended the season with a passer rating of 98.0 and 28 touchdowns, significantly trailing his peers in key statistical categories. By contrast, Lamar Jackson had only four interceptions all season, while Allen and Burrow posted higher touchdown percentages and passer ratings.

From a purely statistical standpoint, Mahomes’ case for inclusion is weaker this year. However, focusing solely on numbers ignores his invaluable contributions to the Chiefs’ success. Kansas City swept the AFC North and AFC West—widely considered the two toughest divisions in the league—and Mahomes played a central role in this dominance. He remains the engine of the Chiefs’ offense and their undisputed leader.

    Historical Precedents

The exclusion of Mahomes is even more puzzling when viewed through the lens of NFL history. Quarterbacks who lead their teams to 14 or more wins almost always earn Pro Bowl honors. Jim McMahon in 1985 and Tom Brady in 2003 are among the rare exceptions, but their situations were unique. McMahon’s season was overshadowed by the Bears’ historic defense, and Brady was still an emerging star at the time. Mahomes, however, is already established as the best quarterback of his generation. The idea that he could lead his team to such a dominant record and still be snubbed is unprecedented.

    The Double Standard

The Pro Bowl selection process, which combines votes from fans, players, and media, is often inconsistent. While team wins historically carry significant weight for quarterbacks in award and honor considerations, that logic seems to have been abandoned this year. Critics argue that Mahomes’ individual stats weren’t flashy enough to overshadow his team’s record. Yet, in past seasons, quarterbacks with less impressive stats have made the Pro Bowl due to their teams’ success.

This raises an important question: Is Mahomes being held to an unfairly high standard? It’s almost as if voters are punishing him for not replicating his historically great seasons. As one of the best to ever play the position, Mahomes’ baseline performance is scrutinized more harshly than his peers’, even in years where he still leads his team to remarkable achievements.

Why This Could Be Great for the Chiefs

While Mahomes’ snub may feel like an insult, it could actually benefit the Chiefs. Mahomes is known for using perceived slights as motivation. He and his personal trainer, Bobby Stroop, have a documented history of keeping track of criticisms and turning them into fuel. A motivated Mahomes is a dangerous Mahomes, and this snub could give him an extra edge heading into the playoffs.

Moreover, the betting markets seem to agree. Following the Pro Bowl announcement, the Chiefs’ odds of winning the Super Bowl slightly improved, dropping from +370 to +360. Whether coincidental or not, this movement suggests increased confidence in Kansas City’s chances.

    Broader Implications for the NFL

Mahomes’ omission highlights a larger issue with the Pro Bowl selection process. The event has long been criticized for being more of a popularity contest than a true measure of a player’s impact. This year’s results underscore the flaws in a system that undervalues leadership, intangibles, and team success in favor of raw statistics and recency bias.

For Mahomes and the Chiefs, the Pro Bowl snub is a reminder that greatness is not always rewarded in the ways we expect. For fans, it’s an opportunity to appreciate the nuance and complexity of evaluating player performance. And for the NFL, it’s a call to reassess how accolades are awarded in a sport that relies so heavily on teamwork and context.

    The Road Ahead

As the playoffs loom, Mahomes and the Chiefs have their sights set on a bigger prize than Pro Bowl recognition. If history is any indicator, Mahomes will channel this perceived slight into a postseason run that could cement his legacy even further. For now, his snub is a curious anomaly in an otherwise stellar career—and one that could have ripple effects for years to come.

Jenner, who opted for a piece out of the archives, looked stunning in a plunging Versace dress.

Kylie Jenner stuns in a plunging Versace dress in Golden Globes photos

According to Vogue, Jenner looked glamorous in a vintage chainmail Atelier Versace dress from the brand’s Spring 1999 collection for her attendance at the Golden Globes 2025. The stunning piece was previously worn by Elizabeth Hurley at the CFDA American Fashion Awards in 1999. Kylie wore the silver version of the Versace dress, which adds a sultry touch with a plunging cowl neckline and a thigh-high slit.

The shiny piece is further elevated with beading detailing on the side of the bust, trim, and back. Aside from the racy front, Jenner’s strapped vintage gown also commanded attention with its daring low backless design. Meanwhile, the Kylie Cosmetics founder rocked her signature glam as she wore her dark hair down in romantic waves.

This wasn’t Jenner’s first time attending the Golden Globe Awards. The reality TV star joined Timothée Chalamet at the 81st edition of the award show in 2024. Last year, in December, the two were also spotted at “A Complete Unknown” afterparty. Jenner had stepped out to support Chalamet at the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie. The pair’s rumored romance has continued to make headlines since 2023. However, Jenner and Chalamet are yet to publicly confirm their relationship.

Nonetheless, Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet didn’t hold back from sharing a sweet kiss while attending the Golden Globes 2025. The two were undoubtedly feeling the love during their latest public appearance.

Ella’s rise to fame came in 2018 with her single **”Boo’d Up”**, an R&B ballad that not only climbed the charts, but also won a **Grammy** for Best R&B Song. Her music, characterized by heartfelt lyrics and minimalist yet effective production, has resonated deeply with millions of people around the world.

    ### Relationship Rumors
Although Tatum and Mai are prominent figures in their respective industries, they have been in the public eye not only for their achievements, but also for rumors of a romantic relationship. The rumors began when the two were seen together at private events, sparking a wave of speculation among their fans and the media.

However, both Jayson and Ella have kept a low profile about their personal lives. While they have neither confirmed nor denied their relationship, what is evident is that both are deeply focused on their careers. Jayson continues to be the centerpiece of the Celtics, while Ella continues to produce music that touches the hearts of her fans.

    The Crossing of Two Worlds
Despite the differences between basketball and music, the story of Jayson Tatum and Ella Mai shows that talent, combined with hard work and perseverance, can break barriers. Both have faced unique challenges: Jayson had to prove himself in an extremely competitive league, while Ella worked to stand out in a saturated music industry.

While rumors of their relationship keep fans intrigued, what truly matters is the impact they have both left in their respective fields. Jayson Tatum is a symbol of leadership and dedication on the court, and Ella Mai remains one of the most influential voices in contemporary R&B.

Regardless of what the future holds for them as a couple or as individuals, the world continues to admire their talent and their ability to inspire millions. And while the rumors persist, one thing is certain: both Jayson Tatum and Ella Mai will continue to shine, each in their own way, in basketball and music.

Meredith Vieira’s Husband Richard Cohen Dies at 76 After Living with Multiple Sclerosis for Over 50 Years

The couple were married for 38 years and share three kids together

Richard Cohen, a veteran journalist and the husband of Meredith Vieira, died on Christmas Eve at the age of 76 after living more than 50 years with multiple sclerosis and surviving two cancer diagnoses.

News of his death was announced on the Today show on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Hoda Kotb said that he was “surrounded by his family and love” at the time of his death, including Vieira and their three kids: daughter Lily, 32, and sons Gabriel 34, and Benjamin, 36.

All had been together around Thanksgiving, Kotb noted, “concerned they were going to lose him early. Instead, they got a glorious month with their dad.”

“She’s in really good spirits,” Savannah Guthrie added of Vieira. “She was such a beautiful and devoted wife to Richard and he adored Meredith. And hanging out with them, they were like the most fun and entertaining, irreverent, cool couple you could hang out with.”

Cohen and Viera were married for 38 years, tying the knot in 1986. Diagnosed with MS at the age of 25, he famously told Vieira he had the chronic disease when they were on their second date.

“I told her about the illness, because I sort of learned the hard way to get it on the table,” he recalled to Yahoo Life in 2019. “And she really didn’t blink.”

“I’ve always been of the school of thought that you could get hit by a bus the next day, any one of us could,” said Vieira. “It certainly wasn’t enough to scare me off.”

Instead, Vieira became Cohen’s fiercest supporter. Over their nearly four decades together, she stood by Cohen’s side as he left his long reporting career for CBS News and became an advocate for those living with MS.

Humor was one of the ways the pair coped through the tough times, but so was radical honesty. “We definitely allow each other to vent,” she told PEOPLE in 2018. “That’s part of the deal. Certainly he’s allowed to vent, because he’s got chronic illness. But I am too. Because there are days I can’t stand it and the limitations it puts on the entire family. It’s good to say it. But we don’t dwell.”

“You can think, ‘Why us?’ but then it’s like, ‘Why not us?’ ” continued Vieira. “So many people are dealing with stuff and it puts it into perspective.”

The chronic disease — which affects the central nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves — would eventually lead Vieira to step aside from her career in broadcast journalism. An original co-host on The View, she moved from the daytime talk show in 2006 to co-anchor Today. She remained a part of the program through 2011, when she retired to spend more time with Cohen and their kids.

“Time is one of those weird things,” she said on air at the time. “You can never get enough of it, and it just keeps ticking away. And I know that I want to spend more of mine with my husband, Richard, and my kids.”

In Cohen’s 2018 memoir Chasing Hope: A Patient’s Deep Dive into Stem Cells, Faith, and the Future, he wrote about the impact MS had on his loved ones.

“Chronic illness is a family affair. Spouses have the burden of tending to the needs of a loved one, even when they would secretly rather push him out a window,” he wrote. “I knew they should not be treated as spectators when they are in the ring with us.”

In addition to facing the symptoms of MS — which, towards the end of Cohen’s life, left him legally blind — Cohen survived colon cancer twice and a blood clot that appeared in his lung.

But throughout it all, Cohen remained hopeful for a cure. “I want to have a long-term relationship with hope. I really do,” he wrote in his book. “Making that intimate connection is a challenge. For many years I pushed hope aside, labeling it a crutch. In my research for Chasing Hope, smart people made the case for hope. They came from different places, but all had found the promised land. I decided I could use a little bit of the stuff. Perhaps I need a lot.”

Stephen ‘tWitch’ Boss’ Widow Allison Holker Discovered His Drug Addiction in ‘Very Scary’ Moment Before Funeral

After Boss’ death in 2022, Holker — whose new memoir details her own difficult childhood and healing journey — learned her husband was struggling with painful demons

Allison Holker made a devastating discovery about her late husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, on one of the hardest days of her life.

Weeks after the Ellen DeGeneres Show co-executive producer and longtime deejay died by suicide at age 40 in December 2022, the dancer uncovered a “cornucopia” of drugs — including mushrooms, pills and “other substances I had to look up on my phone” — hidden inside his shoeboxes.

“I was with one of my really dear friends, and we were cleaning out the closet and picking out an outfit for him for the funeral,” Holker, 36, recalls in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE for its latest cover story, on newsstands Friday.

“It was a really triggering moment for me because there were a lot of things I discovered in our closet that I did not know existed. It was very alarming to me to learn that there was so much happening that I had no clue [about],” she continues. “It was a really scary moment in my life to figure that out, but it also helped me process that he was going through so much and he was hiding so much, and there must have been a lot of shame in that.”

Allison Holker Set to Release Memoir This Far in February: Inside Her ‘Really Vulnerable’ New Book (Exclusive)

Throughout their nine-year marriage, Holker — who details her healing journey in a new memoir titled This Far (out Feb. 4) — believed she and Boss had “very honest” communication, including about his marijuana use. At night, after their kids went to bed, he would quietly slip into their guesthouse to smoke or drink.

“That was his alone time. It was his time to recharge, and that was okay,” she says.

But as she combed through his journals hoping to find clarity — and closure — after his death, Holker learned her husband had hidden painful secrets from even those closest to him.

“He was wrestling with a lot inside himself, and he was trying to self-medicate and cope with all those feelings because he didn’t want to put it on anyone because he loved everyone so much,” she says of Boss, who alluded to being sexually abused by a male figure during his childhood in several of his journal entries. “He didn’t want other people to take on his pain.”

While she felt betrayed by his secrets, Holker has also gained a new outlook over time.

“Reading Stephen’s journals, and even going back into the books he had read and the things that he was highlighting and lining, really gave me a better perspective of where he was in life and the type of things he was struggling with,” she says. “It did have me feel a lot of empathy towards him and sadness for all the pain that he was holding.”

She underscores that she’s now sharing Boss’ struggles — and the aftermath of his death — in hopes of saving even just one person who’s been struggling in silence.

“It was really hard to put all the pieces together. Through certain discussions, even with friends and things that have been said, reading through his journals … you realize he went through a lot as a child and never faced it,” she says. “It’s hard to think that he never opened up to someone and wanted to face it, to get through on the other side. I really hope people dealing with the same thing will help themselves out of the shadows and [know] you’re going to be okay.”

While Boss — who was acting withdrawn, showering less frequently and smoking morning and night — acknowledged to her that he was going through a low period, he was “very careful about this wording,” she recalls.

At the time, he was closing out eight years on The Ellen DeGeneres Show while also ending a run as a judge on So You Think You Can Dance.

Still, “we were getting ready for this big year,” she says. “It seemed like, ‘Oh, he’s taking a resting period,’ which he would say he’s never had.”

In hindsight Holker believes he was deeply struggling with the chasm between the extroverted “tWitch,” his beloved public persona, and the introverted Stephen, a man who yearned to be the “perfect” husband and dad to their three kids, Weslie, 16, Maddox, 8, and Zaia, 5.

“When I would think about my husband at the time, I would think, ‘Oh, I love that tWitch is such a great performer, but then when he comes home he feels safe enough to be Stephen,’” she says. “I was with him for so long, and that’s how he’s been the entire relationship. I was like, ‘It’s a beautiful thing that he can be both.’”

Looking back, Holker realizes his “two very different personalities” were increasingly “battling” each other. “What if he felt safe being this one individual that has different kind of energies,” she now wonders. “You don’t have to be a completely different person and put them aside from each other.”

The morning before he went missing, Boss dropped off Weslie at school. She was the last person in their family to see him alive, and his final words to her were, “I wish I could be your Superman.”

“Having someone say last words to you that you didn’t really process at the time as being anything wrong … that’s really hard, especially as a teenager,” says Holker, noting that Weslie still attends the same school.

“She handles it with far more grace than she should have to. We took the steps to really help her and communicate with her and make her feel seen and heard,” Holker continues. “I think she also sees those words as something beautiful, and also ugly. It’s a battle that she’s going to always have with herself, but I know she can see it from both sides.”

Feeling the full range of emotions — and knowing that’s okay — is what Holker hopes others take away from her new book.

“I’ve been so fortunate to have resources that have helped me that I’ve now teamed up with,” she says of working with organizations like the National Alliance of Mental Illness and Maple Counseling. “I’ve learned there’s so many other resources that a lot of people don’t know about. I’ve had so many people reach out to me needing to talk, and if I’ve learned anything, I’ve learned that mental health can impact anyone at any time of their life.

“It’s important just to be an open vessel to them when they’re going through it, listen and allow them the space to be who they are at that moment and not make them feel like it’s wrong,” says Holker. “People that have a lot of light, they still have gone through a lot of dark. And that’s okay because you can’t have one without the other.”
