Justin Timberlake sold his entire music catalog for $100 million

Justin Timberlake sold his entire song catalog in a deal that was said to be worth $100 million.

According to The Guardian, Justin Timberlake is partnering with Hipgnosis Song Management, a $1 billion fund backed by private equity firm Blackstone. Hipgnosis Song Management offers investors the opportunity to earn royalties from the work of various artists such as Barry Manilow and Beyonce.

The deal between the former NSYNC star and the agency gives them 100% control and ownership of Justin’s stake in the more than 200 songs he has co-written.

“I am delighted to be working with Merck and Hipgnosis – he values artists and their creative work and has always been a strong advocate for musicians…” – Justin shared in a statement – “I look forward to seeing this next chapter”

Founder and CEO of Hipgnosis, Merck Mercuriadis said: “Justin Timberlake is not only one of the most influential artists of the last 20 years, but he is also one of the greatest musicians of all time.”

After singing the 2013 tune “Suit & Tie,” Fallon stood up and and began to shimmy during “Rock Your Body,” to which Timberlake hilariously sat him back down.

Fallon then handled the introduction lyrics to “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” and his vocals impressed Timberlake, who gave him a nod of approval. To wrap everything up, the entire band harmonized the song’s outro soulfully in a super satisfying conclusion.

Justin Timberlake on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

While on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Timberlake talked about his artistic process creating Everything I Thought It Was, his first studio album since 2018.

“Making this album is different from any other one,” he told Fallon. “I was going back and forth, two weeks writing, coming back for a month, and doing what we call writer camps, where I would work with different songwriters, work with different producers, people that I’ve worked with before, people that I’ve never worked with before. We ended up with almost 100 songs, and narrowed it down to 18 songs.”

Timberlake will also be appearing on Saturday Night Live for the sixth time on January 27 as a musical guest, and he gushed to Fallon about how much the experience means to him.

“There’s just so much history there, and it’s just such an institution. You go in there, and you immediately just think about all the greats again who have walked through those doors. SNL is such a special thing for me. I watched [it] when I was a kid. I was like, ‘God, I want to be on that show so bad.’ They look like they’re having more fun than anyone else in the world,” he said.

Justin Timberlake joins Portland Bike Bus as special guest

The Portland group that organizes chaperoned bike rides so kids can get to school in “bike buses” welcomed a special guest Sunday: Justin Timberlake.

The group went viral in October when it posted a plea on social media for the pop star to join them while in town for a concert at the Moda Center.

The response was overwhelming — the TikTok video has racked up over 6.9 million views, and the Instagram post has about 4.5 million views.

Timberlake joined about 200 people on bikes — mostly children and their families — for a half-mile ride down Northeast Klickitat Street to Alameda Elementary School.

Along the route, Timberlake’s team boomed hits like “Mirrors” from speakers on their bikes. The pop star posed briefly for photos with children before leaving from the school. Students, parents and volunteers normally take the route during the school week but made a special Sunday ride to be joined by the music artist. “It wasn’t a school-sanctioned thing,” said a Bike Bus dad and volunteer Ian Downard, “I mean it never is.” He said Timberlake’s team was impressed by the turnout.

Samuel Balto, who was at the time a Portland Public Schools physical education teacher, started the BikeBusPDX program on Earth Day 2022. Every Wednesday, Balto and his group of eager students and families hop on their bikes and pedal their way to school, rain or shine. Several other schools in Portland have followed suit.

Why did he want Timberlake to come? According to Balto, the answer is simple. “‘Cuz he’s awesome,” he said in October. “I grew up listening to him. He’s got a lot of generational reach — everyone knows who Justin Timberlake is.”

When asked about Timberlake’s conviction for impaired driving last fall, Balto steered clear of the topic, focusing instead on the positive impact the Bike Bus movement has on children and the community.

“I think that Justin Timberlake joining the Bike Bus would set a great example for how people can get around — on a bike — for everyday transportation,” he wrote in an email.

Timberlake is scheduled to perform The Forget Tomorrow World Tour at the Moda Center on Monday night.

“So, yes, this is more than business,” Lauren Holiday continued. “Not because we’re offended by it but, because we are people, we’re humans, we have relationships, dreams, and a connection where we play. As I write this, we are grieving the loss of that while celebrating the hope and joy of what’s ahead. The growth is in allowing ourselves to feel this pain now and turn it into power for how we move forward. That’s who we are and that’s who we always will be.”

Jrue Holiday was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers last week in exchange for Damian Lillard, ending his three-year tenure with the Bucks. The stalwart veteran guard didn’t pack his bags for Rip City, though, knowing he’d be moved elsewhere as the Blazers embark on a long-awaited, full-scale rebuild. Holiday was sent to Boston on October 1st, where he’ll play this season and likely many more after signing a contract extension or new deal in free agency next summer.

The Holidays and their young kids—who attended school with the children of other Bucks players—can take solace from knowing that Beantown is poised to be home for the next few years. A sense of community can be built anywhere. But the special connections they made in Milwaukee won’t be perfectly duplicated, and while their local charitable endeavors will surely live on, there’s a difference for the Holidays and the many they’ve helped between Jrue and Lauren being on the ground and continuing to effect change from afar.

No one is crying for the Holidays, and Lauren isn’t asking the masses for sympathy as her husband prepares to sign another nine-figure contract. But professional athletes and their families aren’t much different from anyone else when they’re suddenly re-located for work. Derrick White Had Comical Line About Losing His Teeth After Celtics Win NBA Title

The Boston Celtics added to their extensive trophy case on Sunday night, clinching their record 18th NBA championship after defeating the Dallas Mavericks in a five-game NBA Finals series.

The team sacrificed all season long and are now set to celebrate the fruits of their labor.

As for Derrick White, the star guard will certainly soak in the championship victory, though he’ll also be reaching out to his dentist in order get some much-needed work done.

White took a hard fall during Game 5, hitting the floor face-first after a collision with Dereck Lively which resulted in a chipped front tooth. When asked about the incident during the trophy presentation, White comically admitted that he’d have traded all of his teeth for a ring.

“I’d lose all my teeth for a championship,” White said while the Celtics were being awarded the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

White was a two-way star for the Celtics throughout the playoffs, coming up with multiple pivotal defensive stops, while also proving to be a more than capable threat from beyond the arc. He averaged 13.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per night in the Finals, while playing 36.8 minutes per contest.

Although he’ll likely be feeling sore after the vicious fall he took during the game, the chipped tooth was a small price to pay for the glory of winning an NBA title.

Celtics guard Derrick White chipped a tooth after a brutal collision with Dallas’ Dereck Lively II in Game 5 of the NBA Finals – but said he’d gladly lose all his teeth to be an NBA champion after winning a title for the first time.

On an historic night for Boston, White was fortunate to avoid a nastier facial injury in the second quarter of Monday night’s closeout game in Boston. He dove for a loose ball but stumbled and as he went head-first to retrieve the rock, Dereck Lively accidentally planted his weight onto him as he also fell to the ground.

Lively’s forearm ended up on the back of White’s head, slamming his face onto the hardwood. Shaken up, White walked back to the bench with blood on his hand and mouth. However, the scramble did not keep him from staying in the game.

After the scare, White shook off the impact and made a three-pointer to help the Celtics secure a 67-46 lead at halftime. It was later revealed that he chipped his front tooth while avoiding further facial injuries – the camera catching him seemingly grinning to show off the damage.

It ended up being the endearing image of the night, with White the hero as the Celtics beat the Mavericks 106-88 to become NBA champions.

‘I’ll lose all my teeth for a championship,’ White told a jubilant TD Garden on the court after the game, through a swollen lip, to wild cheers from the crowd.

‘Man, this is what we work for. I’ll get it fixed. I’m gonna enjoy this one,’ he added.

He scored 14 points on the night, with eight rebounds and an assist as he became an NBA champion for the first time in his career.

The Celtics also tweeted out a picture of White smiling on the court to show off his chipped tooth on a special night for Boston.
