Lebron James Met His Wife Savannah When He Was 17 – They Have Grown into the ‘Greatest Couple’

LeBron James and his wife Savannah hit the decade mark in their marriage in September 2023, and the couple is still as supportive of each other as they were before his rise to basketball fame.

Akron natives Savannah and LeBron James’ relationship predates their 2013 nuptials by another decade. Having welcomed three children and maintaining blossoming careers, the couple has grown together as individuals, partners, and parents with a focus on also giving back to their community.

    Who Is Savannah James?

Savannah James finds little enjoyment in the spotlight that comes with being a basketball star’s wife. Appearances on the red carpet or television makes her feel a “bit clammy,” but she is more than willing to step out of her comfort zone for what she believes in. Savannah doesn’t identify with fame, she is a champion for empowerment.

An active philanthropist, she has been involved in projects from fundraising draws focused on empowering and encouraging young women and girls, to the launch of her mentorship program, Women of Our Future, in 2017.

“I’m still a very private person,” the youngest of five children explained. “But these things reflect the passion that I have as far as giving back, the philanthropic part of me. So with those things, I don’t mind stepping out.”

Savannah has been working to change lives for the better for years, but she has also been dedicated to her family as a mother and wife. A personal journey that began when she met LeBron in 2002.

    How They Met

LeBron was a 17-year-old junior at St. Vincent-St. Mary, and Savannah a 16-year-old sophomore at rival Buchtel, when a mutual friend told Savannah that LeBron had asked for her phone number.

Since she didn’t know much about LeBron at the time, Savannah opted to take his phone number instead, but forgot until she was “probably bored or something.” When she gave him a call, LeBron invited her to one of his basketball games and they went to the local Applebee’s in a group afterward. Their first solo date soon followed.

“He met me! I didn’t meet him!” Savannah teased in an interview.

Their first date at an Outback Steakhouse went well and careful to follow the rules, he impressed Savannah’s dad by having her home on time afterward. They had been together ever since, and he still impresses Savannah to this day.

“He is truly a king to his queen, if you will,” she said in 2017. “He treats me with so much respect — I mean, it’s hard to not love him, with the way that he is with me and the kids and his mom and just everyone who’s around him. He’s a really, really humble guy for everything that he has and everything that he’s done.”

In turn, LeBron reiterated the strength of their bond when he received an Icon 360 Award in 2018.

“Savanna was with me shooting in the gym before when I had absolutely nothing. So thank you. I will love you forever for that,” he said during his acceptance speech.

Lebron and Savannah Became Parents Young

Since their days shooting in the gym, the couple welcomed three kids. The first, their son LeBron Jr., was born when they were both still teenagers.

“I was thinking, ‘What am I going to tell my parents? What’s going to happen to his career?’ I was very scared. I was bawling. But he said, ‘It’s not going to slow me down, and it’s not going to slow you down. We’re going to keep doing what we have to do,’” Savannah reflected on the situation during an interview in 2010.

Two years after LeBron Jr., the couple welcomed their second son, Bryce Maximus, followed by their daughter, Zhuri, eight years later. Having children did indeed not slow either of them down, and they approached parenting by implementing what they learned along the way.

Lebron and Savannah’s Approach to Parenting

LeBron believes in never giving up, and Savannah stands by her mantra – encouragement, and together they developed a parenting system that works for them.

“If there’s nothing more you can do for a child, just constantly encourage them and set them on the right path when it comes to sports or their schoolwork or nurturing a hobby—with whatever it is. Just be a constant source of encouragement. That’s what LeBron talks about—never give up,” Savannah elaborated.

“You have to go along that path on your own because every kid is different; every situation is different,” LeBron once said about parenting. However, he also mused in an interview how everything he learned about being a parent, he learned from his mother.

What LeBron Learned from His Mother

“Everything I know about being loving and caring, and sacrificing and showing up and being present in my children’s lives—I learned all of that from her example,” he wrote in a tribute to his mother, Gloria James.

LeBron showed appreciation and love for the example Gloria set in his life when he accepted his Icon 360 Award in 2018. Giving a glimpse into the difficulties she faced when LeBron was a child.

“I couldn’t imagine being 16 years old and having a kid being a sophomore in high school and having to raise a kid by myself without the means without support system, without anything, and giving that kid just a sense of pride, a sense of strength, a sense of no worry. Because of you, Gloria James, I’m able to receive this award today,” he mused.

How LeBron grew up, and the sacrifices his mother made, shaped the man he became, and his view on what it means to be a parent.

The Sacrifices That Shaped Lebron & His View on Parenting

Gloria was a single mother and “really struggled” to make ends meet. She lived in her mom’s house with LeBron, her only child, in Akron, Ohio, until her mom suddenly died of a heart attack when LeBron was 3.

“Everything changed. With my mom being so young and lacking any support and the skills and education necessary to get ahead, it was really hard for us. We lost the house,” LeBron recalled.

They moved a dozen times over the next three years, a “scary” time for LeBron, as Gloria took on work anywhere she could to make ends meet. Even so, Gloria always made him feel safe.

“I had my mother to blanket me and to give me security. She was my mother, my father, my everything. She put me first. I knew that no matter what happened, nothing and nobody was more important to her than I was,” LeBron explained.

And it’s because she put him first, that Gloria decided to make the ultimate sacrifice when LeBron was 9 years old. She knew her son needed stability, something she couldn’t provide at the time, so made arrangements with his football coach, “Big Frankie” Walker, for LeBron to stay with them while she got back on her feet.

“I stayed with the Walkers for a year, and what a gift that was! I was in the same school all year, slept in the same bed all year, played on the same football team all year, and Big Frankie put me on my first basketball team. I saw my mom every weekend,” LeBron elaborated.

Gloria then secured a two-bedroom apartment with government assistance and LeBron moved back in with her until he finished high school. The rest, as he said, is history.

    Love and Admiration

However, LeBron’s history, and achievements over the years also garnered admiration, especially his lasting love story with Savannah. In 2021, LeBron paid a special tribute to Savannah on their eighth wedding anniversary.

“Happy Anniversary Queen!! Who am i w/o you in my corner, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! Love you [sic],” LeBron wrote alongside loving images taken on their wedding day.

The comment section soon flooded with compliments and messages of admiration. “Bron, the only one who did it the right way,” an Instagram user noted. “What a beautiful couple,” another added. “Greatest couple ever,” chimed in another fan, reiterating the appreciation for how LeBron and Savannah live their lives and the example they set.

President Donald Trump gave his congratulations to Patrick Mahomes and wife Brittany on the birth of their third child, daughter Golden Raye.

“Congratulations to the Chiefs GREAT Quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, and his very beautiful and BRILLIANT wife, Brittany, on the birth of their new baby daughter, Golden Raye. This is what I call a baby with great genes, both mother and father. It’s happy times in the wonderful Mahomes family. See you all on Sunday!” Trump wrote on Truth Social Thursday.

Mahomes and Brittany welcomed Golden Raye on Jan. 12, just before the start of the Chiefs’ current playoff run.

Trump is set to attend Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, where he’ll watch Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs try to become the first team in history to win three straight Super Bowls.

Trump has expressed fondness for Mahomes and his wife in recent months.

A screenshot of Brittany’s Instagram account giving a like to Trump’s 2024 policy platform on Aug. 13 was shared across social media. She then posted several follow-up posts defending herself from the backlash she received for liking Trump’s post.

Trump then gave Brittany a shoutout on Truth Social days later.

“I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country,” Trump wrote. “With Crime and Illegal Immigration totally out of control, INFLATION Ravaging all Americans, and a World that is laughing at the stupidity of our hapless ‘leaders,’ it is nice to see someone who loves our Country, and wants to save it from DOOM. What a great couple – See you both at the Super Bowl!”

After Taylor Swift endorsed Kamala Harris on Sept. 10, Trump appeared on Fox News the next morning to say he liked Brittany much “much better” than Swift.

“I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better if you want to know the truth. She’s a big Trump fan.” Trump said on “Fox & Friends.” “I like Brittany. I think Brittany’s great.”

After the Chiefs defeated the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game Jan. 26, Trump sent a congratulatory post to Kansas City on Truth Social. But Trump did not give congratulations to the Chiefs’ opponent, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Earlier Wednesday, when Trump was asked who he expected to win the Super Bowl, the president didn’t give a definitive answer but alluded to Mahomes’ success.

“I don’t want to say, but there’s a certain quarterback that seems to be a pretty good winner,” Trump said when asked which team he’s rooting for.

Mahomes gave his thoughts on Trump attending the game to reporters Wednesday.

“It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president,” Mahomes said. “Someone that is at the top position in our country.”

Mahomes recognized Trump was probably talking about him and gave his thoughts about the cryptic praise from the president.

“It’s cool to hear that he’s seen me play football and respects the game that I play,” Mahomes told reporters Wednesday.

NBA All-Star Shockwave: Tatum and Brown Reunite as Superstars Form Powerhouse Squads!

NBA All-Star Shockwave: Tatum and Brown Reunite as Superstars Form Powerhouse Squads!

The NBA has officially dropped a bombshell with the reveal of the 2025 All-Star rosters, and fans are in complete shock. In a brand-new format designed to shake things up, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown will reunite in an explosive duo, while LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant have been stacked on the same team in what can only be described as an All-Star superteam.

The announcement sent waves through the basketball world, with social media instantly erupting in debates over which squad holds the upper hand. With Tatum and Brown leading the charge on one side, Celtics fans are thrilled to see their dynamic duo back together, this time on the grandest stage. The chemistry between these two is undeniable, and in an All-Star setting, where defense is often optional, expect highlight-reel alley-oops, deep threes, and unstoppable fast breaks.

But the real headline-grabber? The sheer dominance of a squad featuring LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Stephen Curry, Jayson Tatum, and Kevin Durant. This collection of superstars is unlike anything the league has ever seen in an All-Star setting. LeBron, the All-Star king, is making his presence felt once again, while Curry’s limitless range and Durant’s scoring prowess will make this team nearly impossible to contain. Add in the defensive anchor of AD, and this lineup looks downright unfair.

The new format was designed to inject fresh energy into the All-Star Game, and the early reaction suggests it’s doing exactly that. The anticipation is at an all-time high as fans speculate on matchups, potential rivalries, and whether this stacked squad can truly be challenged.

One thing is certain: this All-Star Game is shaping up to be one of the most electrifying showdowns in NBA history. Will Tatum and Brown rise to the occasion and take down the superstar squad? Or will LeBron and his elite teammates steamroll their way to a dominant victory? The stage is set, the lineups are locked in, and basketball fans around the world are in for an unforgettable spectacle.

  • Celtics Crumble in Defensive Meltdown, Fall 127-120 to Short-Handed Mavericks

Celtics Crumble in Defensive Meltdown, Fall 127-120 to Short-Handed Mavericks

Celtics Crumble in Defensive Meltdown, Fall 127-120 to Short-Handed Mavericks

In a game that should have been theirs for the taking, the Boston Celtics delivered a shocking defensive collapse against a depleted Dallas Mavericks squad, walking away with a brutal 127-120 loss that left fans stunned and frustrated.

    Klay Thompson

From the opening tip, the Celtics looked a step slow, failing to assert their defensive dominance against a Mavericks team missing key players. Rather than exploiting Dallas’s weakened roster, Boston seemed content trading buckets, a fatal mistake when facing a team as explosive as Luka Dončić and company. The result? A nightmarish defensive showing that turned a winnable contest into an embarrassing defeat.

Luka Dončić, a one-man wrecking crew, tore through Boston’s defense with surgical precision. Whether it was finding open teammates or hitting impossible shots, Dončić dictated the game at will. The Celtics’ perimeter defense was nonexistent, allowing Dallas to rain down threes with minimal resistance. And when Boston tried to adjust, their interior defense collapsed, giving up easy points in the paint and second-chance opportunities that proved costly.

    Mavs guard Kyrie Irving

Despite Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown putting up strong offensive numbers, their efforts were overshadowed by the glaring defensive shortcomings. Boston’s inability to lock in, fight over screens, and contest shots allowed the Mavericks to dictate the tempo, keeping the Celtics on their heels all night. The frustration was evident, with missed assignments, miscommunication, and a general lack of urgency dooming any chance at a comeback.

This loss raises serious questions about Boston’s championship aspirations. If they can’t shut down a Mavericks squad missing key contributors, how will they handle the elite teams come playoff time? The Celtics may boast one of the most talented rosters in the league, but without a commitment to defense, that talent means nothing.

Coach Joe Mazzulla has a long flight home to figure out how to fix these glaring issues. If the Celtics don’t tighten up defensively—and fast—they risk turning what should be a dominant season into another year of missed opportunities and disappointment.

BREAKING: Pittsburgh Steelers QB Russell Wilson Is Officially Done

Russell Wilson reacts during game.Russell Wilson (Photo by Al Bello/Getty Images)
Russell Wilson’s tenure with the Pittsburgh Steelers appears to be up after just one up-and-down year.

The Steelers signed Wilson to a one-year contract last year following his departure from the Denver Broncos, who took on $85 million in dead money after releasing him. But after Pittsburgh’s ugly late-season collapse and humiliating Wild Card Round loss to the Baltimore Ravens, it sounds like Wilson will be playing elsewhere in 2025.

Speaking on “Radio Row” at Super Bowl week in New Orleans, Fox Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer reported that the Steelers don’t plan to bring back Russell Wilson. Glazer also shut down the idea of Wilson joining former head coach Pete Carroll and the Las Vegas Raiders.

“That ain’t gonna happen (Wilson to Las Vegas),” Glazer said. “I don’t think that’s going to happen, either (a return to Pittsburgh). I think you’ll see a new start for Russell.”

Russell Wilson had Pittsburgh sitting pretty at 10-3 following a Week 14 home win against the Cleveland Browns. But the Steelers dropped their final four regular-season games, three of which were decided by double-digit points.

The late-season collapse allowed Lamar Jackson and the Ravens to snag the AFC North en route to a dominant 28-14 win over Pittsburgh in the Wild Card Round. Wilson and company were held to under 20 points over the final five games of 2024.

Justin Fields started the first six games for Pittsburgh while Wilson was sidelined with a calf injury. The Steelers went 4-2 in those games, with Fields throwing for five touchdowns and just one interception. It remains to be seen if the Steelers will give Fields an extended look behind center in 2025 after losing the starting job to Wilson.

Which Teams Could Target Russell Wilson In Free Agency?

QB-needy teams that could eye Russell include the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, especially if they don’t end up drafting a signal-caller in round one. The Indianapolis Colts could look at Wilson to compete with inconsistent starter Anthony Richardson, too, and maybe the New Orleans Saints if they move on from Derek Carr.

Boston Celtics Shock The NBA By Swapping Jaylen Brown For Suns Superstar In Blockbuster Trade Proposal

A blockbuster trade deadline day proposal has the Boston Celtics stunning the NBA by sending reigning NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for another veteran superstar.

There’s no indication that the Celtics actually want to trade Jaylen Brown, who signed a five-year supermax extension worth $304 million two years ago before leading Boston to the NBA championship last season.

But as we saw in Sunday’s blockbuster Luka Doncic trade between the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks, nobody is untouchable. If a top-five player in the game can get traded before his 26th birthday, anyone can be moved.

Morten Stig Jensen of Yahoo Sports proposed a fascinating blockbuster trade idea that has Boston sending Brown to the Suns in exchange for Devin Booker in a one-for-one superstar swap:

“Let’s get nuts here and swap Devin Booker for Jaylen Brown, both of whom earn the exact same dollar amount, meaning a trade is actually possible.

What’s the logic? Well, for one, the Celtics get a more clean fit as Booker is a real two guard. As for Brown, he’s a wing who doesn’t overlap with Bradley Beal and offers a little defense and athleticism on the perimeter.

Does it make some Earth-shattering difference for either squad? Probably not, but since we now live in an NBA world where nothing is predictable, why the heck not?”

Phoenix’s ugly 140-109 blowout loss at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night dropped them back to the .500 mark (25-25). The Booker, Bradley Beal and Kevin Durant core isn’t working, and it’ll take a blockbuster trade of epic proportions by GM James Jones to save the season.

If you’re Phoenix, you couldn’t define “blockbuster” much better than swapping out Booker for Brown. The latter is a proven playoff performer with championship experience and could bring the change the Suns need to re-emerge as a title contender.

Jaylen Brown Is Having Another All-Star Season

Brown just earned the fourth All-Star nod of his career, and deservedly so. The 28-year-old and Jayson Tatum continue to do the heavy lifting for the defending champs, with the former averaging 23.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.

Trading Brown and breaking up a star-studded core would be a giant risk by president of basketball operations Brad Stevens. But hey, trading for Kristaps Porziņģis and moving out Marcus Smart was also deemed risky, and we saw how that played out.

The NFL has reportedly apologized for their Super Bowl 59 halftime show decision.

The Philadelphia Eagles are set to play the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday’s big game, with Kendrick Lamar to take charge of the break. The “Not Like Us” artist will also be accompanied by former labelmate SZA.

The decision to have Kendrick highlight the show came as a massive shock as everyone expected it to be Lil Wayne, including Lil Wayne.

“That hurt, it hurt a lot,” the rapper admitted after Lamar was announced.

    He added:

“I thought there was nothing better that spot, on that stage, on that platform. It broke me, but I’m just trying to put myself back together.”

Skip Bayless, a close associate of the New Orleans native, has lashed out at the league for snubbing him in favor of the aforementioned performer.

“So, dirty, rotten wrong,” Bayless said on his podcast. “Just so unfair. Come on, Wayne is New Orleans.”

The former FS1 analyst also revealed that the NFL sent Lil Wayne a letter apologizing to him and thanking him for promoting the league.

“A letter that thanked him for his years of supporting the league, not just the Packers — his favorite team — but supporting and promoting the NFL, in general, which he has,” Bayless said.

“But, he will not play Sunday’s halftime show, and he definitely won’t watch a second of Sunday’s halftime show,” Skip continued.

There’s No Chance Of Lil Wayne Performing At The Super Bowl 59 Halftime Show

Lil Wayne has confirmed that he will not attend the game, scuttling any hopes of being invited on stage to perform with Kendrick Lamar.

It is rumored that the halftime show performer could bring on a few other artists, including Taylor Swift. Of course, that is unlikely to happen, but you just never know.

On another note, it’s said that Lamar is keen on performing his controversial ‘Not Like Us” hit, which could spell trouble for the NFL, despite being advised not to.

Wherever Taylor goes, there is always an insane amount of frenzy and excitement.

However, a source close to the pop star says she has some concerns and is desperate not to screw things up for Travis Kelce and the Chiefs.

Taylor Swift is reportedly waiting to arrive in New Orleans until it gets closer because she has concerns that she would be a distraction for Kelce or the Chiefs.

“Taylor doesn’t want to be the center of attention,” a source told The Sun. “She just wants to support Travis and help him focus on the game.”

The source added: “She wants Travis to enjoy his Super Bowl week experience and be at 110% for Sunday, as she is dreaming about him making Super Bowl history and reaching another dream of his, winning another Super Bowl and making a three-peat.”

Around this time in 2024, all the talk before the Chiefs took on the San Francisco 49ers was how quickly Taylor could jet back from Tokoyo to Las Vegas to catch the game. There were models even made showing how she could leave her show and how much time she would have to get in town.

It took away from much of Super Bowl week.

The insider says the 34-year-old “loved” seeing Travis win his second Championship ring despite the attention that was paid to her.

Fast-forward one year, and Taylor Swift hopes the Chiefs and Eagles can get the attention they deserve.

On Wednesday, During a media day, a reporter asked, “I know you’re dating Taylor [Swift], but do you have any Kanye [West] on your hype playlist?”

“No,” Kelce swiftly answered as he turned to answer another question from reporters.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end ensured he answered that correctly, given Taylor Swift’s storied history with the rapper.

The 35-year-old “Cruel Summer” singer has had years of public drama, which began during the 2009 MTV VMAs when the rapper crashed Swift’s moment on stage.

West famously said, “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ma let you finish, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time!”

Swift had just accepted her first VMA for Best Female Video for “You Belong with Me.”

Things may have calmed down in the years following, but it would pick back up in 2016 after West released “Famous,” in which he rapped, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b***h famous.”

Patrick Mahomes Stuns Starbucks Cashier with Unbelievable Act of Kindness—What He Did Left Everyone in Tears!

In a world where headlines are often dominated by controversy and drama, Kansas City Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes just reminded everyone what true leadership and kindness look like.

It all started on a quiet afternoon at a Starbucks in Kansas City. Mahomes, known for his down-to-earth attitude despite being a multi-time Super Bowl champion, was casually waiting in line when he overheard a heartfelt conversation between a young cashier and her coworker.

The young woman, no older than her mid-20s, spoke softly but with clear distress. She was struggling to afford a birthday gift for her six-year-old daughter. Despite working long shifts and doing everything she could, the rising cost of living had left her with little room to buy something special.

Mahomes didn’t hesitate. Instead of brushing it off or pretending he didn’t hear, he leaned in and asked with his signature warmth, “How old is your daughter?”

Caught off guard, the cashier looked up, clearly nervous to be speaking with one of the biggest sports stars in the world. “She’s turning six,” she answered shyly. “She loves art and playing outside, but things have been a little tight lately.”

A Gesture That Brought Everyone to Tears

What happened next left not only the cashier speechless but the entire Starbucks staff in awe. Mahomes smiled, pulled out his phone, and within minutes, had ordered a top-tier art set and an outdoor play kit to be shipped directly to the woman’s home before her daughter’s birthday.

“This is for her,” he said softly. “Every kid deserves to feel special on their birthday, and every hardworking parent deserves a little support.”

The young woman’s hands trembled. “Are you serious?” she whispered, her eyes welling with tears.

    Mahomes simply nodded. “Absolutely.”

But he didn’t stop there. Before leaving, he reached into his pocket and left a stunning tip—not just for the cashier, but for the entire Starbucks team. “You all work hard. Sometimes, the little things matter most,” he said. “Keep doing what you’re doing.”

The Internet Erupts—Mahomes Goes Viral for All the Right Reasons

The jaw-dropping moment would have remained a quiet act of kindness had it not been for a fellow customer who witnessed the entire exchange and shared it online. Within hours, the internet exploded with praise for Mahomes’ selfless act.

“We already knew he was a legend on the field,” one fan wrote. “But this just proves he’s a legend off the field, too.”

Another added: “He didn’t just throw money at a problem—he listened, he cared, and he made someone feel SEEN. That’s real greatness.”

    A Lesson in True Leadership

This isn’t the first time Mahomes has made headlines for his generosity. Through his 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, he has consistently given back to communities in need. But this moment—this quiet, unpublicized act of human kindness—shows exactly why he’s not just a football icon, but a role model for millions.

For the young mother, Mahomes turned a heartbreaking situation into an unforgettable memory. For the rest of us, he reminded the world that true greatness isn’t measured in trophies or touchdowns—it’s measured in how we treat others.

Sometimes, the smallest gestures have the biggest impact. Patrick Mahomes just proved that once again.
