REPORT: NFL Sent Out Apology Over Decision To Have Kendrick Lamar Host Super Bowl 59 Halftime Show

Kendrick Lamar had one of the most talked about Super Bowl halftime shows in recent memory.

It was certainly the most talked about once it was announced.

Earlier this week, Lil Wayne announced he wouldn’t be in New Orleans for the Super Bowl after being passed over as the halftime performer for Kendrick.

Days after finding out he wouldn’t be performing, Wayne took to social media with a message for his fans. “It hurt a whole lot. I blame myself for not being mentally prepared for a letdown and for automatically mentally putting myself in that position like somebody told me that was my position. But I thought there was nothing better than that spot and that stage and that platform in my city, so it hurt,” he said at the time.

One man who chose not to watch the performance was sportscaster Skip Bayless, who reminded the entire football world that he decided to boycott the Super Bowl halftime show “out of respect for my brother Lil Wayne.”

In a recent episode of “The Skip Bayless Show,” he dropped a bombshell about the league feeling so bad that they supposedly apologized to Lil Wayne over Kendrick Lamar being picked over him.

“The NFL immediately sent Wayne a letter of apology,” Bayless revealed. “From nobody in particular, just from the league on NFL letterhead. A letter that thanked him for his years of supporting the league, not just the Packers, his favorite team, but supporting and promoting the NFL, in general, which he has.

“I mean, he makes weekly appearances on the NFL Sunday pregame show,’ NFL GameDay Morning’ on the NFL Network. But, he will not play Sunday’s halftime show, and he definitely will not watch a second of Sunday’s halftime show. He will watch the game; just not the halftime show. Not one second.”

A special guest during Lamar’s set was tennis legend Serena Williams, who did the crip walk while the Compton native performed his song ‘Not Like Us,’ which is a diss song directed to rapper Drake.

Viewers Brand Kendrick Lamar As Having The ‘Worst Ever’ Super Bowl 2025 Halftime Show

Kendrick Lamar‘s 2025 Super Bowl LIX halftime show had a lot going on, but it left many viewers feeling robbed.

So many complained that it was ultimately branded the “worst ever” by some viewers.

New Video Reveals What Travis Kelce Did After Blowout Super Bowl Loss

Before Super Bowl LIX kicked off, Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce made it clear he planned to play for a few more years.

However, after the Chiefs 40-22 blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night in which he caught just four passes for 39 yards, rumors about his future began to emerge. Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes knows the future Hall of Fame tight end has a bit more football in him – if he wants to play.

“He knows he has a lot of football left in him. You can see it, he always makes plays in the biggest moments, but it’s if he wants to put in that grind. It’s a grind out there to play 20 games, or whatever it is, and get to a Super Bowl. He’s done enough to be a gold-jacket guy, a first-ballot Hall-of-Famer,” Mahomes told reporters after the game.

“I know he still has love for the game and he’ll get to spend some time with his family and make that decision on his own, but he knows he’ll come back here with open arms.”

Following the heartbreaking loss on Sunday night, Kelce spoke with reporters for a brief interview that lasted no more than two minutes. After the media availability came to an end, he headed upstairs to meet Taylor Swift and his family in their suite, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Kelce refused to answer a question about his future on Sunday night after the game, despite being adamant he plans to keep playing in the days before the Super Bowl.

Heartbreaking Moment Captured on Camera: Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce Shares a Tearful Embrace with Teammate Patrick Mahomes After Super Bowl LIX Defeat

In a moment that has resonated deeply with fans across the globe, Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, Travis Kelce, was captured in a deeply emotional embrace with a teammate following the Chiefs’ loss in Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles. The game, which took place on February 9, 2025, in New Orleans, ended with a 40-22 victory for the Eagles, marking a bitter end to what had been an illustrious season for Kelce and his team.

The image, shared by the account Tayvis Nation on X, shows Kelce, identifiable by his jersey number 87, with his arms wrapped tightly around a fellow player, both appearing to seek solace in the aftermath of their defeat. The post, which went viral, was accompanied by the simple, yet poignant caption: “this photo hurts,” echoing the sentiment felt by many fans and players alike.

Super Bowl LIX was a significant event not just for the Chiefs but for Kelce personally. Having already surpassed Jerry Rice in career playoff receptions and leading the Chiefs to a Super Bowl LVIII victory, expectations were sky-high. However, the game did not unfold as hoped. The Kansas City Chiefs, known for their dynamic offense, struggled mightily in the first half, with quarterback Patrick Mahomes throwing two interceptions and Kelce failing to record a single catch, a stark contrast to his usual performance.

This moment of vulnerability, captured in the image, speaks volumes about the high stakes and emotional toll of professional sports. Kelce, often seen as the epitome of resilience and skill in the NFL, was shown here in a raw, human moment, highlighting the brotherhood and support system within the team that transcends the game’s outcome.

The fan reaction, as seen in the replies to the post, ranged from heartfelt sympathy to shared disappointment. Fans like Emily (@SwiftlyEmily) and Shannon (@Banniss5) expressed their own pain through comments like “Ow…” and “Gut punch straight in the feels,” respectively, showcasing the deep connection between the athletes and their supporters. Others, like AI (@UniqueArman07), tried to offer comfort, saying, “No worries bro you did well ,” recognizing the effort put in despite the result.

The loss was particularly hard for the ‘Tayvis Nation,’ a fanbase that has grown to celebrate both Kelce’s athletic achievements and his public life, including his relationship with pop icon Taylor Swift. The intertwining of sports and celebrity culture has only amplified the public’s investment in Kelce’s journey, making moments like this resonate on multiple levels.

As the dust settles on Super Bowl LIX, this image of Travis Kelce will remain a poignant reminder of the highs and lows of professional sports. It serves as a testament to the emotional depth of athletes, the support within teams, and the enduring spirit of competition. While the trophy went to Philadelphia, this moment captured in New Orleans will linger in the hearts of Chiefs fans and sports enthusiasts, symbolizing not just the end of a game, but the human aspect of the sport they love.

Stephen A Smith says he would divorce Serena Williams for Super Bowl halftime show cameo

The reason behind Smith’s argument is her appearance in a diss track to Drake, who she used to date in 2011

Serena Williams made a surprise cameo during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show, as she was spotted dancing during the performance of “Not Like Us.”

Making an appearance for that song sparked some debate on social media, especially considering Lamar’s song is a diss track toward the rapper Drake, whom Williams dated in 2011.

Many believed it was no coincidence Williams’ time to shine was during this track, and ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith thinks the same.

    Serena Williams dances

It’s why, during his Monday edition of “First Take,” he told his colleagues he would divorce her if he was her husband.

“If I’m married and my wife is going to join trolling her ex, go back to his a–, ‘cause clearly you don’t belong with me,” Smith said on the show, which led to some laughter from his colleagues.

“What you worried about him for and you’re with me? Bye. Bye.”

Williams is married to Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, and they share two daughters together.

Smith’s co-host Ryan Clark responded, “If you were with Serena Williams, you’re going to be a kept man anyways. Don’t start that.”

Lamar and Drake have quite the beef with each other, though only one of them saw Grammys won for their diss tracks.

“Not Like Us” won Song of the Year, which also won Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Music Video.

It’s also worth noting Lamar was joined by SZA during the performance as well, and she confirmed dating Drake after he rapped about it on the track, “Mr. Right Now,” with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin.

Whether it’s trolling or not, Williams and Lamar do share a connection with their childhood, having grown up in Compton, California.

Legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson was also seen during the performance as “Uncle Sam,” as Lamar switched songs throughout.

Kelce and Swift shared a kiss and “I love yous” while cameras were rolling to capture every moment

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift uttered those three little words for all the world to see!

As Kelce, 35, and the Kansas City Chiefs celebrated earning their third straight spot at the Super Bowl on Sunday, Jan. 26, the tight end and Swift, also 35, shared a kiss and “I love you”s while cameras were rolling to capture every moment.

In the moment — which instantly went viral online — Kelce and Swift kiss each other, as he appears to say “I love you so much,” to which Swift responds, “I love you. I’m so proud of you.”

During the postgame celebrations, the couple shared multiple kisses and smiles as confetti fell around them. They were joined by Kelce’s mother, Donna, on the field to celebrate the Chiefs’ victory over the Buffalo Bills.

Before he met them on the field, Kelce gave a speech while accepting the Lamar Hunt trophy and shouted out the fans of Chiefs Kingdom. The NFL star then broke out into song on the microphone as the “So High School” singer laughed and clapped.

“Hey, before you guys get out of here,” Kelce began, before singing the chorus of the song “Get Down Tonight” by KC & The Sunshine Band.

“Just do a little dance. Make a little love,” he crooned, as Swift laughed and cheered.

Facing the Bills for the fourth time in five years in the playoffs, the Chiefs once again took down Josh Allen and his Buffalo team, this time by score of 32-29 in the AFC Championship, granting them a ticket to the Super Bowl. The Chiefs will now go head-to-head against the Philadelphia Eagles in the big game — which is a repeat of the match-up between the two teams at the 2023 Super Bowl in Arizona.

Late in the fourth quarter of the game, the two teams were tied 29-29, but a field goal from the Chiefs gave them a 3-point lead that the Bills were unable to top after a failed drive.

Travis Kelce is “down bad” for Taylor Swift.

Ever since the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the pop superstar first confirmed their romance in October 2023, the power couple have kept their love story relatively private — though they’re often spotted supporting each other at events and games, with Swift even dropping little Easter eggs about him in her songs. Still, Kelce hasn’t been shy about wearing his heart on his sleeve for Tay.

From gushing about their mutual support to confessing the exact moment he fell for her, here are some of the sweetest, most genuine things Kelce has said about Swift.

Just as Kelce pours out his sweat and tears on the football field, he’s equally inspired by Swift’s tireless dedication on stage — and he’s all about taking a few pointers from her playbook.

“Her work ethic, what I saw on that tour last year, was pretty remarkable,” the Kansas City Chiefs star told reporters, including PEOPLE, in February 2025.  “I mean, to see the week in, week out traveling from one country to the next.”

Kelce added, “The band, the singers, it was everybody involved, and it was an absolute machine and it was something I could admire watching and take a lot of notes from.”

As Swift rallied for Kelce from the stands all season long, her game-day looks scored just as many points, especially from her boyfriend.

While speaking to media during Super Bowl LIX press conferences in February 2025, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end couldn’t resist hyping up the pop star’s tunnel walk fashion, saying, “Tay’s always gonna be dressed head-to-toe looking the flyest.”

As for whether they plan their outfits, Kelce admitted they don’t “necessarily coordinate” — but, let’s just say, they don’t have to.

Taylor Swift Jets Out of New Orleans After Travis Kelce and the Chiefs’ Heartbreaking Super Bowl 2025 Loss

The Super Bowl 2025 was not just a game—it was a moment of immense highs and lows for both the Kansas City Chiefs and their loyal fans. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, it ended in heartbreaking defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles. For tight end Travis Kelce, the loss was personal, and the aftermath was equally tough. Amid the emotional weight of the game, Taylor Swift, who had been present to support her boyfriend, Kelce, was seen quietly departing New Orleans soon after the final whistle.

A Tough Day for Travis Kelce and the Chiefs

For Travis Kelce, the Super Bowl loss was particularly painful. As one of the Chiefs’ star players, the pressure of performing at the highest level was immense. Despite his dedication and effort, the Eagles managed to clinch the victory, leaving Kelce devastated. As the game concluded and the players and fans processed the tough loss, Kelce’s visible disappointment reflected the toll the defeat took on him.

Taylor Swift, who had been a constant presence throughout the game, was also dealing with the emotional fallout of the loss. As an A-list celebrity, Swift’s attendance at such a major event with Kelce had already garnered significant attention. But this time, the spotlight wasn’t on her. The sadness in the air was palpable, and she was seen offering her support to Kelce as they both navigated the aftermath of the tough game.

    A Quiet Departure

Swift, known for being private and somewhat reserved when it comes to her personal life, was spotted making a quick exit from New Orleans following the Chiefs’ loss. Photographs and eyewitnesses reported seeing her leaving the stadium in a low-key manner, likely opting to avoid any further media attention after such a difficult day for her boyfriend. Swift, who has been no stranger to the pressures of public life, seemed to prioritize Kelce’s well-being, quietly slipping away after the game and choosing to travel home.

Despite the chaotic atmosphere in the aftermath of the loss, Swift’s departure was marked by a quiet dignity. Rather than staying for the usual post-game celebrations or media appearances, she chose to leave, likely so she could offer Kelce the space and support he needed in private.

    Supporting Kelce Through the Heartache

Throughout the Super Bowl, Swift had been seen cheering for Kelce in the stands, a powerful display of her support. The couple’s relationship has already been under a microscope, with the media and fans alike keeping close tabs on their every move. With Kelce’s devastation following the loss, Swift’s presence was perhaps one of the few comforting constants in the whirlwind of emotions surrounding him.

Kelce’s heartbreak after the game was clear, but having Swift by his side likely provided him with the reassurance that he wasn’t facing the pain alone. Her quiet departure from New Orleans only further underscores the depth of her commitment to him—she wasn’t interested in making the situation about herself but rather offering him the space he needed to process the loss.

A Relationship Tested by Public Scrutiny

The pressures of being in a high-profile relationship, especially in the world of sports and entertainment, are enormous. For Swift and Kelce, their romance has already faced its share of media scrutiny. From the start, their relationship has been a topic of public fascination, with every moment of their romance being analyzed and dissected.

Despite this, Swift has remained largely private about their relationship, with moments like these—where she quietly steps away to support Kelce without seeking attention—speaking volumes about her genuine feelings for him. It’s clear that for Swift, the most important thing is not the spotlight but the relationship she shares with Kelce.

    Moving Forward Together

As Swift flew out of New Orleans, away from the aftermath of the Super Bowl loss, it was evident that she was prioritizing the emotional well-being of her partner. The next few days and weeks will likely see the couple navigating the ups and downs of life in the public eye once again, but their bond seems to be one of mutual respect and care.

While Kelce and the Chiefs will need time to process their defeat, Swift’s unwavering support will likely help Kelce move past the heartbreak and focus on the future. Despite the defeat, it’s clear that the love between Kelce and Swift is strong—no loss or public scrutiny can diminish what they share. Their relationship, now more than ever, seems to be about understanding, patience, and offering support when it’s needed most.

As the dust settles from the Super Bowl, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Kelce, Swift, and the Chiefs. However, one thing is certain: through the highs and lows, they continue to face it all together, proving that their connection is stronger than the pressures of the public spotlight.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift Chased Out of New Orleans Over Taylor Swift’s Short Dress? Here’s What Really Happened

In a bizarre and unexpected incident, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and pop icon Taylor Swift were reportedly chased out of New Orleans after Swift’s outfit stirred controversy among certain onlookers. The couple, who had been enjoying a night out ahead of Super Bowl LIX, quickly became the center of attention—not just for their celebrity status, but for Swift’s bold fashion choice.

What Went Down in New Orleans?

According to eyewitness reports, Kelce and Swift were spotted at a high-end restaurant in the French Quarter, enjoying a private evening together. Swift, known for her stunning and fashionable looks, was wearing a stylish, above-the-knee dress, which some sources claim was “too revealing” for certain locals who took issue with her attire.

As the couple exited the venue, a small group of individuals reportedly began shouting disapproving remarks, leading to a chaotic scene. Security quickly intervened as Kelce shielded Swift from the growing commotion. The couple swiftly left the area, escorted by security, before things escalated further.

Fan Reactions and Social Media Uproar

As soon as the news broke, Swifties and Chiefs fans took to social media to express their outrage, with many calling the situation ridiculous and outdated.

✔ “It’s 2025. A woman should be able to wear whatever she wants without being harassed.”
✔ “Imagine chasing Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce out of your city because of a dress… embarrassing.”
✔ “They were just trying to enjoy their night. Let them live!”

Others, however, argued that the situation may have been exaggerated, suggesting that a few critics in the crowd didn’t represent the entire city of New Orleans.

Did Taylor and Travis Address the Incident?

Neither Swift nor Kelce have publicly commented on the situation, but sources close to them say they were frustrated by the unnecessary drama and have since moved on from the incident. Despite the chaos, the couple is still in high spirits as they prepare for Kelce’s upcoming Super Bowl showdown.

One thing is clear—whether it’s football, music, or even fashion choices, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce remain two of the most talked-about figures in pop culture today.

BREAKING: Tom Brady Roasts Travis Kelce Over Super Bowl Focus, Suggesting ‘If He Had Focused on Football Instead of Taylor Swift, Chiefs Would Have a 3-Peat’; Jason Kelce Hits Back, ‘I Love Brady, But If He Had Focused on His Wife More, He’d Have a Wife Right Now’

Jason Kelce Defends Brother Travis Amidst Tom Brady’s Roast

In an unexpected turn of events at a recent roast, NFL legend Tom Brady took a playful yet pointed jab at Kansas City Chiefs’ star tight end, Travis Kelce. The roast, known for its sharp humor and candid jests, saw Brady suggesting that Kelce’s focus on his high-profile relationship with pop icon Taylor Swift might have been the reason the Chiefs fell short of securing a third consecutive Super Bowl win, or what’s colloquially known as a ‘3-peat’.

Brady, with his characteristic wit, remarked, “If Travis had focused more on football than on Taylor Swift, maybe that 3-peat would have been a success.” This comment, while delivered in the spirit of humor, ignited a firestorm of discussion among fans and analysts alike, questioning the balance between personal life and professional sports.

However, the response from the Kelce family was swift and pointed. Jason Kelce, Travis’s brother and a respected figure in his own right from his days with the Philadelphia Eagles, came to his brother’s defense with a retort that turned the spotlight back on Brady’s personal life.

“I love Brady, but if he had focused on his wife more than football, he’d have a wife right now,” Jason Kelce stated, alluding to Brady’s highly publicized divorce from Gisele Bündchen. This comeback was not just a defense of his brother but also a commentary on the sacrifices athletes make in their personal lives for their careers.

The exchange has since sparked a broader conversation about the pressures faced by professional athletes to maintain peak performance while navigating the complexities of personal relationships under the public eye. It brings to light the often-ignored narrative of the personal sacrifices made by sports figures, where their personal lives are scrutinized almost as much as their on-field performance.

This roast, while intended for entertainment, has inadvertently highlighted a critical issue in sports culture – the expectation for athletes to compartmentalize their lives into work and personal spheres, often to the detriment of one or the other. The Kelce brothers’ saga is a testament to the brotherly bond and the protective nature of family in the face of public critique, but it also serves as a reminder of the human aspect behind the athletes we admire.

As the dust settles on this roast, it leaves fans and observers pondering the fine line between personal fulfillment and professional excellence, a debate that will likely continue long after the laughter from the roast has faded.

Axl was asked. And he replied, “You mean Jon Bon Jovi? Oh yes, I saw them. His work that scared me the most was the last one, the one with the happy face.”

The reference was for the album “Have a nice day”. But in reality, Rose’s conclusion gave us much more to understand than that initial insult: “What bothers me the most is that they were always like perfect boys. They are clowns who will never change.”

It was the 80s and glam music was trapped in show business. After the revolutionary 60s and the chaotic 70s, the big industry had seen the business in rock, attracted it from the margins to its ranks and thought about how to indoctrinate it to make it, which had been born countercultural, simply more money. Bon Jovi represented all that; Axl had chosen the word clown carefully, not from the empty insult, but from its true meaning: someone to entertain.

Bon Jovi, who knew how to read between the lines, avoided controversy: “Does that mean that we make people happy? Then… Thank you!” Guns N’ Roses came from poor cities in the U.S. They saw in art possibilities for change. For them, who were looking for a way to survive in a very hard life, rock was not just a show to entertain people while life went on.

This dispute has always existed in rock. Even in later decades it also occurred with force. But that initial impulse between the two artists faded over time, when Bon Jovi’s fame passed. Well into the 90s, Guns N’ Roses, after becoming professional as no one would have thought just years before, was disarmed between the comings and goings of Axl Rose. Man was torn between all his ideas: over-demandingness, divorces, the incessant pursuit of elusive happiness.

The third decade of the 21st century finds them far, far away: Guns may not have changed the world, but they still tour, attracting rebellious and big boys who still believe in the improbable revolutionary capacity of rock. Bon Jovi is content to play for their cogenerationals. Jon looks very handsome and virile even at 57 years old, Axl is a chubby guy who screams as best he can. GN’R is considered one of the great bands of all times; Bon Jovi appears in melancholic eighties programs. Who was better off?
