People are in awe after learning 50 Cent completely transformed his body for film role

Fans have been left stunned after learning the lengths 50 Cent went to for a movie role.

The award-winning rapper is best known for his muscular body, often going topless at award shows, concerts, or music videos (remember him being upside down in ‘In Da Club’?).

But back in 2011, the 49-year-old rapper – whose real name is Curtis James Jackson III – directed and starred in the movie All Things Fall Apart.

The flick follows the heartbreaking story of a footballer named Deon who had dreams of making it pro and playing in the NFL.

However, as Deon is about to go pro, he is sadly diagnosed with cancer, which turns his life upside down as his football dreams are now over.

In order to physically look the part for the movie, the usually-buff 50 Cent dropped an astonishing 54 lbs (24.5kg) in nine weeks after going on a liquid-only diet and working out for three hours a day on a treadmill.

Now – more than 10 years after the movie was released – photos of the transformation have resurfaced on social media.

Many fans were in awe of 50 Cent’s dramatic weight loss and took to X to praise the rapper for his dedication to his craft.

“This is what true passion can make you do … waow,” one user praised, while another applauded that it was “professionalism”.

A third shared: “The dedication”, and a fourth added: “He really went through this for movie wow.”

After the film’s release, the ’21 Questions’ rapper opened up his preparations for the role, revealing to the Associated Press that “it was a lot tougher” for him, as cited by Billboard.

“I had to discipline myself not … to actually have myself be in the physical state to convey the energy I felt. It’s a passion project for me,” he added.

When he was struggling with keeping off the weight, he started researching the transformation of other actors.

“I actually got on the computer,” he shared. “When it started getting difficult, I was looking to see what their experience was like and I got a chance to see all of the interviews they had at different time periods when they were doing promotion for the projects.”

All Things Fall Apart also stars the late Ray Liotta, Mario Van Peebles, Lynn Whitfield, Cedric Sanders, and Tracey Heggins.

The film received a 58 percent audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes and went straight to DVD after premiering at the Miami International Film Festival in 2011.

Although the movie didn’t perform well, the rapper has enjoyed success in his acting career after starring in his executive-produced series Power, its spin-off Power II: Ghost, and the ABC show For Life.
