Travis Kelce is “down bad” for Taylor Swift.

Ever since the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the pop superstar first confirmed their romance in October 2023, the power couple have kept their love story relatively private — though they’re often spotted supporting each other at events and games, with Swift even dropping little Easter eggs about him in her songs. Still, Kelce hasn’t been shy about wearing his heart on his sleeve for Tay.

From gushing about their mutual support to confessing the exact moment he fell for her, here are some of the sweetest, most genuine things Kelce has said about Swift.

Just as Kelce pours out his sweat and tears on the football field, he’s equally inspired by Swift’s tireless dedication on stage — and he’s all about taking a few pointers from her playbook.

“Her work ethic, what I saw on that tour last year, was pretty remarkable,” the Kansas City Chiefs star told reporters, including PEOPLE, in February 2025.  “I mean, to see the week in, week out traveling from one country to the next.”

Kelce added, “The band, the singers, it was everybody involved, and it was an absolute machine and it was something I could admire watching and take a lot of notes from.”

As Swift rallied for Kelce from the stands all season long, her game-day looks scored just as many points, especially from her boyfriend.

While speaking to media during Super Bowl LIX press conferences in February 2025, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end couldn’t resist hyping up the pop star’s tunnel walk fashion, saying, “Tay’s always gonna be dressed head-to-toe looking the flyest.”

As for whether they plan their outfits, Kelce admitted they don’t “necessarily coordinate” — but, let’s just say, they don’t have to.

During an appearance in a January 2025 episode of The Stephen A. Smith Show, Kelce opened up about why he and Swift continue to cheer each other on in their career wins.

“I’m enjoying all aspects of life. Me and Taylor are happy,” Kelce said of their relationship. “I couldn’t be happier to have that confidence and that comfort off the field and all the support I could ever ask for in the stadium.”

“I think personally, that’s the beauty of being in a very strong relationship is that you get that support to be able to come in and focus on your craft, focus on being the best version of you,” Kelce continued. “That’s why I wanted to be at the concert, supporting her and being there for her, making sure she feels comfortable and supported in everything she’s doing in life.”

Since the pair confirmed their romance in October 2023, they’ve given fans tiny peeks into their relationship, with Kelce opening up about when he knew he was starting to “fall” for Swift in a June 2024 episode of Barstool Sports’ Bussin’ with the Boys podcast.

When chatting about how Swift “understands situations” like the Chiefs winning the 2024 Super Bowl, Kelce said, “She’s very self-aware. And I think that’s why I really started to really fall for her, was how genuine she is around friends [and] family. It can get crazy for somebody with that much attention … and she just keeps it so chill and so cool.”

Travis Kelce on His Favorite Taylor Swift Songs

Elsewhere on the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast, Kelce was asked to rank his top three favorite Swift songs. For his top two picks he went with “Blank Space” and “Cruel Summer” before rounding out the list with “So High School,” which he explained “has a sentimental meaning, I guess.”

After the hosts made the suggestion that Kelce appears in the song, he said, “I think so, I think so, you know what I’m saying,” before reciting the lyrics, “You know how to ball, I know Aristotle” with a smile.

Kelce previously told PEOPLE that the song is his favorite off of Swift’s 2024 album, The Tortured Poets Department, while admitting he “might be a little biased” as the song is speculated to be about him.

Ahead of the 2024 Super Bowl, where Kelce and the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22, the tight end appeared on the Westwood One Sports podcast, where host Laura Okmin told him that “love looks good on you.”

He accepted the compliment saying, “Thank you, I appreciate that,” before going on to say that he’s “very aware” of the impact his relationship has had on attracting a new audience to the NFL.

He said that while he wanted to assure everyone that his focus was still on playing the best he could, the attention didn’t bother him because “what me and Taylor have is special.”

After the Chiefs won the 2024 AFC Championship game, Swift joined her boyfriend on the field to celebrate. Kelce was seen kissing and hugging Swift and saying, “I love you.”

While speaking at a press conference after the special moment, Kelce said the celebrations were “another memory in the journey that we get to cherish, man.”

Despite her busy schedule, Swift is often spotted at games, cheering on Kelce and the Chiefs.

Of her support, Kelce said on The Pat McAfee Show in late January 2024, “I love it when Taylor comes and supports me and enjoys the game with the fam and friends. It’s been nothing but a wonderful year, man.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, Kelce explained, “We’re just two people supporting each other and having fun with it, man.

Kelce sat down with WSJ. Magazine for the cover of their December 2023/January 2024 issue and opened up about dating someone “with that kind of aura about them.”

“I’ve never dealt with it,” he added. “But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it … The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that, I better not be the one acting all strange.”

He added that getting to know Swift has been eye-opening, sharing, “I’ve never been a man of words. Being around her, seeing how smart Taylor is, has been f—— mind-blowing. I’m learning every day.”

Earlier on in their relationship, Kelce and his brother, Jason, chatted a bit about the new couple’s various outings in an October 2023 episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, specifically about the chatter surrounding the photos and videos of the sports star helping Swift in and out of her car and holding her hand.

“I feel like whenever I’m on a date I’m always having the sense of like, I’m a man in the situation, I’m like protective, yeah for sure,” Kelce said. “You always kind of have that feeling — or that self-awareness, I guess.”
