Tatum leads the way as the Celtics roll Wembanyama and the Spurs 116-103 at home
The Boston Celtics cruised to a 116-103 victory Thursday night against visiting the San Antonio Spurs. Boston also welcomed in Torrey Craig, who the team signed last week.
Boston jumped out to a big lead early on, thanks in part to Jayson Tatum. The former Duke Blue Devil logged 32 points to go with 14 rebounds and 7 assists. Kristaps Porzingis and Derrick White also made big contributions, made even more important with Jrue Holiday and Jaylen Brown sidelined by injury. For the Spurs, Victor Wembanyama did what he could to keep San Antonio in the mix, but his efforts were in vain. Boston led for almost the entire game, although the Spurs fought hard in the second half to try to mount a comeback. Instead, the Celtics secured a win, improved to a 39-16 record ahead of the NBA’s All-Star break.
