Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino’s little girl hit a major milestone this past weekend.

On Sunday, March 9, the Jersey Shore star, 42, celebrated his daughter Luna’s first birthday at Gabriella’s Italian Steakhouse in New Jersey, surrounded by his wife Lauren, his children, family and friends. The decor, handled by Oak & Orchird Events, featured tons of sweet treats, using pastel-colored pink, yellow and lavender decorations to bring the theme to life.

Cait’s Crew’s planned out fun activities for the attendees, using the “sweet” theme as a guide. Children and adults alike were able to add mini flowers and dinosaurs to their cupcakes and create their own windchimes with pre-made designs of their favorite treat and markers. They were also able to grab a donut off Luna’s cupcake-shaped donut wall, crafted by Off the Wall Donuts.

“We had the best time celebrating our little Luna Lucia’s first birthday, surrounded by our closest family and friends,” the couple tells PEOPLE. “The theme was ‘Luna is a Sweet ONE,’ and we couldn’t agree more! It was a beautiful day filled with love, laughter, delicious food, and of course, funfetti cake. A perfect Situations celebration!”

Costars and lifelong friends Angelina Pivarnick and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola joined for the festivities, posing with Sorrentino in front of “Luna’s Sweet Shop.” The photo booth area and music for the event were provided by Magic Moments.

The Jersey Shore alum married Lauren, 39, in 2018, and in May 2021, their son, Romeo Reign, was born. Two years later, in January 2023, their daughter, Mia Bella Elizabeth, joined the family. The couple rounded out their family of five in March 2024 when they welcomed their daughter, Luna.

The reality TV star and his wife shared the exciting news on Instagram. In one sweet family photo, Sorrentino stood behind his wife and placed a hand on her shoulder while she held their baby girl. The couple also included photos from the hospital and a selfie.

“Gym Tan Situation Family of 5 ‼️ We are overjoyed to announce the newest member of our growing Italian family,” they wrote in their joint Instagram post. “Luna Lucia Sorrentino 🌙 born March 6th 2024 at 3:49pm weighing in at 5 pounds 6 ounces and 18.25 inches in length. 3 under 3 will be quite the situation but we wouldn’t have it any other way 🍼.”

After struggling with addiction, Sorrentino frequently discusses his pride in being sober for years and how being a dad and husband has helped him to maintain it.

“I’ll be honest with you. I’m happy to make it this far,” Mike told PEOPLE in August 2023 at the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation premiere. “I was so wild in my twenties and thirties that being the family man that I am today — being eight years sober in December, a dad of two, married five years in a happy, healthy marriage — I’m killing the game.”
