Justin Timberlake & Jimmy Fallon’s Harmonies on Their New Music Collab Are Amazing

The two friends performed a medley of Timberlake’s hits on The Tonight Show‘s “Classroom Instruments” segment.

To celebrate the release of his upcoming album, Everything I Thought It Was, Justin Timberlake appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on January 25 and performed a super fun medley of some of his best songs. The best part? The medley also included Host Jimmy Fallon and was soundtracked by classroom instruments.  .

The performance started out with Timberlake crooning his new single, “Selfish,” while enthusiastically hitting a triangle. Fallon and The Roots joined along during the chorus, all nailing the high notes. They then seamlessly transitioned into Timberlake’s hits “Senorita,” “Sexyback,” and “My Love.”

After singing the 2013 tune “Suit & Tie,” Fallon stood up and and began to shimmy during “Rock Your Body,” to which Timberlake hilariously sat him back down.

Fallon then handled the introduction lyrics to “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” and his vocals impressed Timberlake, who gave him a nod of approval. To wrap everything up, the entire band harmonized the song’s outro soulfully in a super satisfying conclusion.

Justin Timberlake on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

While on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Timberlake talked about his artistic process creating Everything I Thought It Was, his first studio album since 2018.

“Making this album is different from any other one,” he told Fallon. “I was going back and forth, two weeks writing, coming back for a month, and doing what we call writer camps, where I would work with different songwriters, work with different producers, people that I’ve worked with before, people that I’ve never worked with before. We ended up with almost 100 songs, and narrowed it down to 18 songs.”

Timberlake will also be appearing on Saturday Night Live for the sixth time on January 27 as a musical guest, and he gushed to Fallon about how much the experience means to him.

“There’s just so much history there, and it’s just such an institution. You go in there, and you immediately just think about all the greats again who have walked through those doors. SNL is such a special thing for me. I watched [it] when I was a kid. I was like, ‘God, I want to be on that show so bad.’ They look like they’re having more fun than anyone else in the world,” he said.
