Former Golden State Warriors general manager Bob Myers made headlines last year when he stepped down from his position. As one of the highest-paid executives in the league, Myers’s decision to leave the Warriors was unexpected, especially since his contract was set to expire in late June.

Growing up in the Bay Area, Myers was a devoted fan of the Warriors. He decided to step down in May, turning down offers from the team to renew his contract. Recently, he explained his departure with a straightforward reason.
“I was done. I just couldn’t do it, I care too much to not give my best,” he said, per Law Murray of The Athletic.
During his tenure with the Warriors, Myers, who once shared a wish for James and Stephen Curry to team up, was instrumental in leading the team to four NBA championships. His exceptional work earned him the NBA Executive of the Year award twice.
Now, Myers has shifted his focus to a new role in the NBA. He uses his extensive knowledge of the game as an analyst on NBA broadcasts, where he continues sharing his insights with a broader audience.
Washington Commanders Turn to Bob Myers for Winning Culture Transformation
After a distinguished tenure as an NBA executive, Bob Myers transitioned to the NFL, joining the Washington Commanders. He was brought on board as an advisor and consultant to owner Josh Harris. Harris stressed the need to cultivate a winning culture among the Washington Commanders.
Given Myers’ track record of guiding the Golden State Warriors to success in the NBA, the Commanders regarded him as an ideal choice for this role. Myers leveraged his experience to help the Commanders make decisions. He later led to the appointments of general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn.
