Hot: Plane crashes directly into residential area in the US, creating a “sea of fire”, the recording reveals the terrifying moment just before the disaster
A small private plane carrying 5 people crashed into a residential area in Manheim Township, Pennsylvania, USA.
Accordingly, at around 3:18 p.m. on March 9 (local time), a small single-engine private plane crashed into the parking lot of a residential area in Manheim Township, Pennsylvania, USA.
The accident caused 5 people on board to be seriously injured as well as damage to dozens of other vehicles. Fortunately, no one on the ground was injured, said Scott Little, director of the Manheim Township Fire Department.
Video footage at the scene shows the wreckage of the plane engulfed in flames. Surrounding vehicles were also destroyed.
In the air traffic control recording, the terrifying moment was recorded when the pilot told ground staff that they were forced to turn back because the plane door was open. At that time, the pilot said that he could not hear the radio because the wind was too strong, and the hatch could not be locked.
Air traffic control instructed the pilot to “pull up” just minutes before the collision.
The scene of the incident
The entire area has been cordoned off
A witness said the plane crashed shortly after takeoff. Brian Pipkin told CNN: “It was flying quite high, but then it started to turn left and suddenly threw its head to the side.” As soon as he saw the cockpit of the plane engulfed in flames, Pipkin immediately ran in the direction of the plane that could have crashed.
“The heat is like opening an oven at 500 degrees Celsius.
It is known, according to FlightAware, the plane is scheduled to depart from Lancaster Airport to Springfield, Ohio. Pennsylvania State Police are “on the scene to assist local first responders.”
Currently, the cause of the accident is still being investigated and clarified.
