From the football field to the big screen! Adam Sandler spilled the beans that Travis Kelce will be appearing in his Happy Gilmore sequel.

The comedian, 47, revealed in an Aug. 20 episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that the tight end, 34, has a “nice something” in Happy Gilmore 2.

Sandler, who returns to the sequel as the lead actor and cowriter, noted that production will start in a “couple weeks” in New Jersey. He shared that he and the original co-writer Tim Herlihy “wrote our a—- off. We’re continuing to try to make it a movie that you guys will like.”

Host Jimmy Fallon then asked him if he’s heard the talk that Taylor Swift’s beau wants to be part of the production, to which he said, “Yes.”

“He has mentioned it and so we have a nice something for Travis. He is going to come by,” Sandler said, noting that the footballer is a “very nice guy.”

“You guys would love him in real life. What a big, handsome guy,” he added. “He’s a stud and he’s so funny.”

Kelce — who also plays golf — mentioned the movie sequel in a May episode of his podcast New Heights. During the episode, he was talking about being open to new acting opportunities after landing a role in Ryan Murphy’s Grotesquerie horror series.

Netflix confirmed the sequel to the 1996 comedy in May, stating that it is “currently unclear how the film will resurrect Gilmore’s golf career, but one thing’s for sure: In the real world, at least, Happy Gilmore is a legend,” in reference to the movie’s ending, which sees the titular character winning a  Tour Championship.

Christopher McDonald, Julie Bowen and the late Carl Weathers also starred in the movie, though it is unclear whether they will reprise their respective roles.

Sandler spoke with PEOPLE exclusively at the premiere of his latest Netflix stand-up special Love You and expressed his excitement for the upcoming sequel. “We worked hard trying to write something that we thought people would have a good time with, and I’m more than excited, probably the most excited I’ve been in many years to shoot something,” he said.
